WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
What if the busy work just got out of the way?
Behind every great employee experience is a quiet system: the onboarding that feels effortless, the leave handled with care, the paycheck that's right the first time. It's craft most people never see, and we think it deserves the same care we put into the product. We want People Ops that feels like a great mechanical watch: you never think about it, and it's never wrong.
Imagine the first day at a company where every laptop, login, and handshake worked on the first try. That's the bar.
We're looking for a Head of People Operations to lead that work. You'll shape the strategy across People Operations and Total Rewards operations, making everyday work simpler, more reliable, and increasingly agent-enabled.
This is a player-coach role. You'll develop the team, set direction, and stay hands-on, especially as you learn Notion. You'll combine operational craft with thoughtful automation, keeping care and human judgment at the center of every sensitive decision.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Be customer zero for AI-enabled operations. Prototype and scale agents on real workflows, with trusted data, the right access, and human review built in. (Yes, we run our own People Ops on Notion. Yes, it's a little meta.)
- Build the experience behind the experience. Every hire, change, leave, and farewell runs through the systems you design.
- Lead a team that wears many hats. You'll coach, set the roadmap, and still get your hands dirty. No boredom guaranteed.
- Join at a moment of growth. Notion is scaling, and there's a real green field to build something simple and lasting.
- Work across the whole company. Partner with People, Finance, Payroll, Legal, IT, and BizTech to make handoffs smooth and change stick.
- Put agents to work, thoughtfully. Test and scale useful workflows with validation and human review. (Automate the busy work, never the judgment.)
- Lead the team and set the roadmap. Clear ownership, clear priorities, and room for people to grow.
- Build reliable lifecycle workflows. Onboarding, employee changes, leaves, and offboarding, with clear intake, service standards, and escalation paths.
- Run Total Rewards operations. Own routine compensation and benefits operations, from cycle readiness and data changes to Payroll handoffs, with accuracy and good judgment on exceptions.
- Measure what matters. Use service, quality, and adoption data to keep improving, with data integrity and audit readiness built in.
- Make change stick. Align partners across the company and drive adoption.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- You've led a People Operations team in a shared services model and built scalable processes in a growing company, while staying hands-on.
- You've built People programs and operational processes from the ground up.
- You know compensation administration and benefits well, with sound judgment on approvals and exceptions.
- You design great systems and processes across HRIS, case management, and lifecycle workflows. (Workday and global experience are a plus.)
- You've used AI and automation to improve real work, with privacy, quality, and oversight in mind.
- You communicate clearly, hold strong beliefs loosely, and lead people through change with kindness and directness.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $270,000 - $310,000 per year.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

Consistent with applicable law, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. We are looking for an Associate HR Analyst, to join the Human Resources team in Manila, supporting our APAC markets. This is an early-career position that plays a key operational role supporting our Regional HR Business Partners (HRBPs), ensuring our people processes run smoothly across multiple markets.
You will work closely with the Regional HRBP, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition (TA), People Service Delivery (PSD), and business leaders across the region, contributing to a seamless employee experience and helping turn people priorities into action. You will support key HR processes, provide insights and follow-up, and help ensure that our people practices are consistently and effectively delivered across the region in line with global guidelines.
This role is designed for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is energized by problem-solving. It is a permanent, hybrid position based in Manila, with three days per week in the office.
What You Will Do
Hiring and Selection
Support the Regional HRBP in submitting hiring requests to TA through Workday
Share regular updates with the Regional HRBP on hiring status and flag any potential hiring risks or challenges
Onboarding and Offboarding
Coordinate and facilitate welcome meetings and inductions for new hires
Ensure hiring managers take an active role in a standardized onboarding and induction template, and contribute to the onboarding process where necessary
Conduct the scheduled check-in meetings with new employees and their managers; document key findings and flag risks to the Regional HRBP
Track onboarding and offboarding processes: documentation, system updates, coordination with legal providers, and final payment follow-up
Conduct the exit interview for voluntary resignations and analyze exit surveys to flag risks or challenges to the Regional HRBP
Ensure all people movement events are processed accurately and on time in Workday
HR Employee Support
Act as a point of contact for complex HR queries related to employee relations, policies and procedures, performance, and compensation from employees and managers across APAC
Collaborate with PSD on complex employee queries related to other HR topics such as time-off requests and balances, Workday challenges, and more
Liaise with PSD on open Jira tickets and ensure timely resolution and follow-up
Actively contribute to the FAQ and knowledge base for recurring questions to reduce query volume over time, in partnership with the broader HR team
Engagement Plan Execution Support
Support the execution of the APAC Engagement Plan (Career Path Program, Recognition Program, AI and Automation initiatives)
Coordinate logistics for engagement activities: communications, scheduling, materials, and tracking
Assist in collecting and organizing data for engagement surveys and post-program follow-ups
HR Systems and Data Integrity (HRIS)
Own the accuracy of Workday organizational structures: positions, attributes, reporting lines, and job profiles
Perform regular audits to ensure all people movements (new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations) are correctly reflected in the system
Cross-check open positions in Workday against workforce planning data and flag discrepancies to the Regional HRBP
Coordinate with HR teams globally to resolve data inconsistencies
Prepare HR reports on demand: headcount, open positions, engagement metrics, and data sanity checks
Support the Regional HRBP with data preparation for leadership presentations and business reviews
Maintain data hygiene across HR tracking tools (spreadsheets, Workday exports, dashboards)
What We Are Looking For
Background
A degree in Human Resources (Human Resource Management), Labor Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
Experience
1 to 3 years of HR experience in dynamic, fast-moving environments (for example HR operations, HR generalist, or HRIS support)
Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday experience is a strong plus, not a requirement)
Exposure to multi-country HR operations is valued but not mandatory
Skills
Advanced English, written and spoken; most team communication is in English
Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Docs, Slides): advanced level required
AI tools literacy (familiarity with Claude or similar tools is a plus)
Analytical mindset: comfortable working with data, spotting inconsistencies, and building clean reports
What Will Set You Apart
High tolerance for ambiguity: you don’t need everything to be defined to take action
Dynamism: you shift context quickly and don’t lose quality when the pace picks up
Comfort with uncertainty: you see change as the norm, not the exception
Proactive communication: you flag issues before they become problems
Discretion: you handle sensitive information with care and sound judgment
Why Join Aleph
Real impact across APAC:
Your accuracy in Workday and your follow-through keep hiring, onboarding, and people movements running smoothly across multiple markets, and your insights help the Regional HRBP and business leaders decide what to do next.
A clear path into HR business partnering:
Learn the HRBP craft from the inside (employee relations, workforce planning data, leadership business reviews) with day-to-day exposure to the Director, HR Business Partners.
Collaborative, supportive team culture:
Work alongside Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and People Service Delivery colleagues in an English-speaking team that values proactive communication, discretion, and flagging issues early.
