During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
We’re looking for a
Sr Software Engineer
to join the Platform Ops team (Platform Engineering) and enable developer productivity by building and improving developer tooling and environments, and by improving other productivity tools around observability. Our team builds the shared systems and workflows engineers rely on every day—internal developer environments and self-serve tooling that makes the recommended way to ship changes the easiest way. This is a platform tooling role with a focus is on reusable capabilities and self-service workflows adopted across teams.
You’ll also help develop AI-based workflows for productivity and efficiency, including automation that improves infrastructure operations (for example, faster triage, automated runbook steps, and better self-service for common issues). You’ll prioritize the highest-impact problems by looking at where time is being lost today (slow builds, flaky tests, manual release steps, repetitive operational work) and turning that into concrete projects. You’ll set clear success metrics up front and use them to guide design decisions and rollouts.
Expect to partner closely with engineering teams to drive adoption, document changes, and iterate based on feedback. You’ll drive cross-team work across internal tooling, developer environments, observability, and reliability, focusing on measurable improvements (for example: shorter lead time, fewer incidents, and faster recovery). You’ll add automation and enable developer workflows across all three major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
Over time, you’ll own medium-sized projects end-to-end: identify the highest-friction workflows with partner teams, build and ship improvements, roll them out safely, and iterate based on adoption and measurable outcomes (for example: faster builds, fewer flaky tests, shorter time to debug, and less operational toil). You’ll collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, Release Engineering, Security, and product engineering teams to make improvements that are easy to adopt and maintain.
What You’ll Do
Build internal tools and services in
Python
and/or
Go
Build tooling for our internal developer platform (self-service workflows, shared patterns, developer-facing interfaces)
Add automation and enable developer workflows across all three major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
Develop AI-based workflows that improve developer experience and reduce repetitive manual work, including efficiency gains in infrastructure operations
Improve developer feedback loops through better observability (metrics/logs/traces), making failures easier to diagnose
Automate common engineering workflows (scaffolding, environment setup, releases, operational runbooks)
Improve observability for platform services (metrics, logs, traces) to make issues easier to detect and debug
Integrate tools into existing workflows (CLI, Slack, GitHub, dashboards) where it reduces time-to-resolution
Participate in on-call/incident response as needed and drive follow-up automation to prevent repeat issues
Skills We’re Looking For
Professional software engineering experience in
Python
and/or
Go
Experience building developer productivity tooling (CI systems, build tooling, developer portals, workflow automation)
Experience with at least one cloud provider (
AWS
,
Azure
, or
GCP
)
Strong fundamentals: testing, code review, debugging, and operating production services
Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-team environment
You'll have an edge if you have:
Kubernetes experience
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu), including reusable modules and safe state management

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We’re hiring experienced performance engineers to make performance measurement at Supabase rigorous, repeatable, and actionable by product teams. This role owns the benchmarking and profiling systems we use to detect regressions, explain performance changes, and publish credible numbers for customers and the market. You’ll build the tooling and the methodology and make it easy for product teams to use it correctly.
You’d join a new performance team as one of its first members, working alongside a deeply seasoned performance engineer, with the team growing to roughly six this year. There’s no legacy process to inherit — you’ll help define how we measure and communicate performance metrics at Supabase.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and evolve benchmarking, profiling, and load-testing tooling (cloud, database, and end-to-end).
- Define benchmark suites and reference workloads that reflect real customer behavior (and evolve them as the products change).
- Establish performance baselines and regression gates across products (variance tracking, environment control, and detection of changes).
- Build mechanisms that turn benchmark results into action: triage workflows, owner routing, and clear, reproducible reports.
- Partner closely with database teams (e.g. Multigres, OrioleDB) to identify bottlenecks and land concrete performance improvements.
- Enable the company to publish credible, repeatable performance numbers for customers and the market.
- Help teams self-serve performance testing and make performance a first-class engineering concern.
PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT WORK ON
- Build our continuous benchmarking infrastructure so product teams can spot performance regressions early. Ideally, teams can run benchmarks directly on PRs or locally while developing a feature.
- Analyze and eliminate issues with load generators, workloads or benchmark environments to ensure that benchmarks are reliable indicators for actual product performance.
- Build regression triage tooling that pinpoints what changed (diffing, profiles/traces, query-level attribution).
- Help product teams so they can analyze the root cause of performance regressions in benchmark environments themselves.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Deep experience in performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling of complex distributed systems. Specifically, you have owned benchmarking systems where reproducibility and controlling variance mattered.
- Strong systems intuition (databases, storage, networking, cloud infrastructure).
- Comfortable working across product, infra, and database teams.
- Pragmatic, tooling-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- Depth on at least one end of that stack: Linux kernel internals (virtual memory, scheduling, networking, IO) or database internals (query planning, storage engines, buffer and WAL management)
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.
- ESOP
Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.
- Tech Allowance
Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.
- Health Benefits
Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.
- Annual Off-Sites
Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.
- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.
- ~400 team members
- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)
- 540,000+ community members
We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Release Engineer (SRE) to join our Release Engineering team (part of EngOps) — a production-operations expert who brings an SRE mindset to how Supabase ships and runs, making deploys safe, observable, and recoverable at scale.
Release Engineering's scope has grown well beyond build-and-ship: we increasingly own the operational reliability of the systems that deploy and run Supabase. In this role you'll treat our deployment pipelines, pre-production signal, and the control plane itself as production systems — with SLOs, error budgets, and on-call ownership — and you'll be the person teams lean on when reliability is on the line.
This is not a "gatekeeper" role. You'll make the reliable path the easy path: standardising how we deploy, instrumenting what we ship, and ensuring that when something breaks, we detect it quickly and recover quickly.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
In this role, you'll:
- Own the reliability of Supabase's deployment and release systems, and the control plane they run on, against clear SLOs and error budgets
- Turn pre-production into a trustworthy signal — standardizing and instrumenting today's fragmented, ad-hoc deployment workflows
- Drive disaster-recovery readiness, including making environments reproducibly deployable from scratch (untangling undocumented secrets, unclear configuration ownership, and circular service dependencies)
- Build and operate health and SLO monitoring for critical user flows, using synthetic testing to catch regressions before customers do
- Reduce mean-time-to-detect and mean-time-to-recover for deploy-related incidents — which account for a large share of our incident load
- Participate in on-call, lead blameless postmortems, and turn findings into runbooks, alerting, and automation that remove toil
- Improve deployment observability and auditability — a clear record of what shipped where, when, and by whom
- Document operational procedures — break-glass paths, access models, and runbooks — so reliability knowledge isn't tribal
RELIABILITY & OPERATIONS
- Define and track SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and DORA delivery metrics — with meaningful alerting over noise
- Ensure deployments fail fast and safely when health checks degrade
- Harden access and break-glass workflows (e.g. scoped self-service) so the right people can act in an incident without unsafe workarounds
- Partner with product engineering and platform teams to align release practices with reliability and availability targets
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Have 5+ years in SRE, production operations, platform engineering, or release engineering
- Have operated production systems at scale and carried on-call for them
- Are fluent in SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, DORA metrics, and operational KPIs — and the observability tooling behind them (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, or similar)
- Have led incident response with tooling like incident.io http://incident.io (or PagerDuty / Opsgenie), run blameless postmortems, and driven down MTTD/MTTR
- Operate confidently on AWS (multiple accounts, IAM, VPC) in production
- Are comfortable with infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform) and Kubernetes
- Script and automate to eliminate toil rather than absorb it
- Communicate clearly with both infrastructure specialists and product engineers
- Thrive in async, globally distributed teams
- Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating toward better systems over time

Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users.
Our platform is trusted by over 7 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $260M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development.
We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you.
APPLYING TO RENDER
We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. About WorkOS 🚀
WorkOS builds modern developer tools and APIs that make it easy for companies to become Enterprise Ready. Our platform powers authentication, identity, authorization, and other critical infrastructure that developers need to securely scale their products to large organizations.
We recently raised a $100M Series C, valuing the company at $2B, led by Meritech and Sapphire with participation from Greenoaks, Craft, Abstract, and Audacious. WorkOS powers enterprise features for many of the fastest-growing AI companies, including OpenAI, Cursor, and Perplexity, Sierra, and Plaid.
As AI reshapes software, WorkOS is at the frontier of Human and Agent Authentication, Identity, and Access Control helping companies answer a new critical question: who are your agents, and what are they allowed to do? Our fast-growing customer base includes hundreds of modern software companies building the next generation of enterprise-ready products.
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer at WorkOS, you will be the technical backbone of our internal IT organization — designing the systems, automations, and infrastructure that scale our internal operations. This is not a help desk role: you will architect endpoint management workflows, write scripts, ship automation, and build the foundation that keeps a fast-growing company running smoothly.
We have an MSP partner handling tier 1 support. Your job is to architect the systems the MSP executes against, automate everything upstream, and serve as the escalation point for complex tier 2/3 issues. You will own identity, device management, SaaS lifecycle, and the automation layer that ties it all together.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for engineers who build and automate, not just operate. You think in systems — understanding how identity, devices, SaaS tools, and cloud infrastructure connect — and your instinct is to eliminate manual work. You might be a great fit if you:
- Have deep Okta expertise — not just user administration, but Workflows, integrations, and policy design
- Write scripts (Python, Bash) to automate what others do manually
- Use Terraform to manage infrastructure as code — not just for cloud, but for identity and SaaS configuration
- Understand SSO protocols (SAML, OAuth, SCIM) deeply enough to troubleshoot and architect, not just configure
- Are comfortable managing a macOS fleet end-to-end — zero-touch provisioning, policy enforcement, MDM
- Think about AI as a tool for IT automation — you are curious about using LLMs and agentic workflows to eliminate toil
- Take ownership, work independently, and follow through from identifying a problem to shipping a solution
Responsibilities ✔️
- Own and evolve our identity infrastructure — Okta (SSO, MFA, Workflows, SCIM provisioning, lifecycle management), Google Workspace, and downstream SaaS integrations
- Architect and ship automation across the IT stack — onboarding/offboarding workflows, access controls, license governance, and SaaS lifecycle management
- Own macOS endpoint management end-to-end — zero-touch provisioning, policy enforcement, detection and remediation scripting via MDM
- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform for identity, SaaS, and cloud resources
- Serve as the escalation point for complex systems issues (tier 2/3) — working with our MSP partner to ensure smooth resolution
- Evaluate and enable new SaaS tools — pilot emerging technologies including AI-powered IT automation
- Create documentation and runbooks that reduce operational toil and increase durability
- Drive an automation-first culture across the IT function — if it can be automated, it should be
Qualifications 🌟
- 7+ years in IT systems, infrastructure, or identity engineering roles — with clear examples of designing, building, and automating at scale (not just operating)
- Deep experience with Okta — Workflows, integrations, policy design, SCIM provisioning (not just user administration)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and comfort with REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication flows
- Hands-on Terraform experience for managing infrastructure and configuration as code
- Strong macOS fleet management — MDM (Jamf, Kandji, or equivalent), scripting, zero-touch provisioning
- Deep understanding of SSO protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0) and SCIM provisioning patterns
- Experience with Google Workspace administration at scale
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — DNS, HTTP, APIs, VPNs, firewalls
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with AI/LLM tools for IT automation (agentic workflows, ChatGPT/Claude for scripting, Okta + AI integrations)
- GitOps or declarative approaches to device and identity management
- Cloud infrastructure experience (GCP or AWS)
- SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance experience
- Experience operating in an MSP-augmented IT model
Benefits and Perks (US Only) 💖
At WorkOS, we offer resources that emphasize personal and familial well-being. We offer healthcare coverage for you and your family, including medical, dental, and vision. We offer parental leave, paid-time off and fully remote working arrangements.
- 401k matching

The Opportunity:
The Grafana Alerting squad operates at the core of the Grafana open-source project
(link)
, and our mission is to provide the most in-depth way to let users manage their alerts. The backend-focused team works closely with customers and the Grafana Cloud teams to make Alerting work on-prem and at infinite scale in Cloud. The team's scope spans both Grafana Alerting and the SLOs product, so engineers get to work across two products that are deeply connected in how they help users detect and respond to problems.
Grafana Alerting is trusted by major organizations worldwide, monitoring essential medical devices and critical infrastructure. We thrive on collective creativity and diverse perspectives, every team member is encouraged to contribute ideas that shape our product into a dependable tool.
Our domain is quite large, so to get an idea of the kind of work we do, here are some projects we recently worked on:
Build distributed systems to scale alert ingestion and delivery of Prometheus-based alerts
Unify Alerting setup and delivery to work the same for Grafana and Prometheus-based alerts
Build distributed systems to scale alert evaluation of Grafana-managed alerts, reaching over 500 evaluations per second in production.

Drive projects from initial ideation all the way to operations once it is in the hands of customers
Embrace our open-source culture and contribute to other projects that may not directly fall within your team’s scope
Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning the reliability, performance, and availability
Be a part of your team’s on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you’re running
Mentor and support other team members, participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team
Learn new skills by gaining a deeper understanding of our cloud product and our customers and getting to know the codebase of a large distributed system

Pragmatism: You are able to take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve short feedback loops: to analyze, design, and build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather data and feedback and then progress iteratively
Collaboration and communication: The smallest unit we have is a team. You’ll be working with your teammates in a fully remote setup. Good communication skills are a must
Solid experience with at least one programming language. We use Go, but if you have familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust or similar then that translates well
Some experience with delivering projects from gathering requirements, brainstorming ideas all the way to shipping a product to the customer’s hands in a self-driven way
Some experience with developing software that runs in the Cloud
or
some experience with systems engineering
Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others

At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure.
We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.
We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed.
Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.
