ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for strong engineers with experience and interest in designing, building, and maintaining the novel, high-performance systems that make up our serverless platform.
Specifically, you’ll be working on the distributed object storage system that underpins every container image, volume, and checkpoint on Modal: hundreds of petabytes of data, replicated across multiple cloud object stores and a CDN, cached on local NVMe across a large fleet of workers in many datacenters, and shared peer-to-peer within each datacenter.
You’ll make cold starts feel local when the data is hundreds of milliseconds away, designing the caching, preloading, and peer-to-peer layers that hide object-store latency and keep public ingress off saturated uplinks. You’ll own durability and cost at petabyte scale, from streaming and batch replication between origins to garbage collection over billions of objects. You’ll work across the stack, from local disk and page cache to distributed blob storage and garbage collection, and you’ll help shape what storage becomes next as we push storage closer to workloads.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Build P2P sharing of data across workers within a single datacenter to dramatically reduce ingress
- Replicate data across multiple blob storage providers
- Automate garbage collection across hundreds of petabytes of data
- Deploy colocated storage clusters to datacenters to accelerate high-throughput customer workloads
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 5+ years of experience writing high-quality production code
- You’ve built high-performance distributed storage or caching systems at a large scale (the more challenges you’ve worked through, the better)
- You have strong cloud skills, including deep familiarity with object storage (S3 or similar), CDNs, and their consistency, throughput, and cost characteristics
- You have strong knowledge of low-level operating system foundations (Linux kernel, file systems, page cache, containers, etc.)
- You’re willing to step into the thick of it with our on-call rotation and respond to production incidents
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with replication, content addressing, and consistency models in multi-region or multi-cloud systems
- Experience operating storage systems at scale (petabyte-scale datasets, high-throughput read/write paths, large-scale garbage collection or data migration)
- Experience with data engineering at petabyte scale
- Prior experience with Rust

- Identify and Mitigate Deployment Risk: Proactively spot noisy neighbor issues, latency bottlenecks, and resource contention before they threaten renewals or expansions, and advise customers on architectural fixes.
- Lead Architectural Reviews and Migration Assessments: Run discovery sessions solo, validate use cases, and design migration paths from legacy search engines like Elastic, Solr, and OpenSearch to Qdrant.
- Design Resilient, Production-Grade Architecture: Spec high-availability search clusters that meet demanding customer SLAs and throughput requirements, including for the most technically complex accounts.
- Own Client Trust at the Executive Level: Serve as the primary technical authority during evaluation, guiding customers to value quickly and acting as a long-term advisor beyond the initial sale.
Who you are
- 2-5 years of technical, customer-facing experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting, with a track record of owning complex, high-value deals independently, including at least 2 years of direct, hands-on vector search experience (Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate, Zilliz/Milvus, or similar). Background in data science, computer engineering, or a previous DevOps/SRE role, with demonstrated depth rather than surface exposure is preferred.
- Strong scripting ability in Python or Bash, used to build reusable tools and validate business value at scale, not just one-off scripts.
- Fluency in calculating total cost of ownership (TCO) and estimating hardware requirements (RAM, CPU, disk) for distributed systems, including for multi-region or highly regulated deployments.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with a clear point of view on how infrastructure choices affect cost and performance at scale.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable running the room with engineers, VPs, and business stakeholders alike, and able to influence without authority across internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to enterprise procurement processes, infosec questionnaires, or MSA redlines.

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role sits within the AWS partnership team and drives Supabase's and AWS's joint co-marketing and GTM motion in support of segments like gaming, enterprise, startups, and AI.
As Supabase drives investment into gaming, enterprise, and startup segments, each motion needs co-marketing execution and enablement content to land with AWS field teams and partners. This role owns that work directly: producing the content, case studies, and campaign support tied to AWS co-owned initiatives.
You'll work closely with the segment leads driving each motion and with the Alliances Lead, translating segment strategy into the campaigns and content that actually reach AWS field teams and partners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Produce co-marketing content and enablement assets (case studies, campaign materials, partner-facing documentation) for our gaming, enterprise, startup, and AI segments
- Plan and execute joint campaigns with AWS field and marketing teams, from initial concept through launch
- Support AWS-funded marketing engagements and executive-facing events with content and coordination
- Build and maintain enablement materials that keep our partner-facing teams and AWS contacts current on Supabase's story
- Identify the right audiences and contacts for campaigns, partnering with RevOps and marketing tooling as needed
WHO YOU ARE
- 3-5+ years in partner marketing or co-marketing, ideally with experience working alongside a major cloud provider like AWS or similar strategic partner
- Strong writer and communicator, able to turn technical products and partnerships into clear, compelling narratives
- Execution-oriented. This role is about shipping campaigns and content, not managing a mature, fully-staffed program
- High degree of autonomy and external credibility. You lead your own workstreams, close loops, and represent Supabase in high-stakes partner discussions independently
- Experience with AWS Partner Central, ACE, and Marketplace mechanisms is a plus
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.
- ESOP
Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.
- Tech Allowance
Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.
- Health Benefits
Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.
- Annual Off-Sites
Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.
- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.
- ~400 team members
- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)
- 540,000+ community members
We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

THE ADVENTURE AHEAD 🚀
As a Senior Product Engineer II, you bring deep expertise in either backend or frontend engineering alongside strong working competency across the full stack. You own complex features and technical initiatives end to end, working across customer facing applications, services, APIs, and integration boundaries to deliver complete solutions.
Your primary strength may be building cloud native backend systems and event driven architectures, or architecting complex frontend applications and customer experiences. In either case, you understand how the broader system fits together and can confidently work across boundaries when needed.
Beyond your individual technical output, you function as a technical anchor within your squad. You help drive technical direction, mentor peers, coordinate dependencies, and ensure the team can consistently deliver high quality software without creating unnecessary knowledge silos.
THE DAY-TO-DAY ⚒️
- Own complex initiatives end to end Drive multi sprint technical initiatives from architecture through implementation, production deployment, and ongoing evolution.
- Build across the stack Navigate frontend applications, APIs, backend services, data layers, and platform integrations to deliver complete outcomes.
- Set technical direction Bring deep expertise in your primary discipline while shaping architecture decisions and engineering patterns across the broader system.
- Make durable technical decisions Evaluate complex tradeoffs, manage technical risk, and balance immediate delivery with long term scalability and maintainability.
- Anchor the squad Break down complex work, coordinate technical dependencies, unblock others, and help the team maintain delivery momentum.
- Drive engineering excellence Raise the bar for testing, CI/CD, observability, architecture, code quality, and pragmatic technical debt management.
- Partner across functions Work with Product, Design, QA, SRE, platform teams, and engineering groups to translate customer problems into reliable solutions.

- Technical leadership The ability to guide engineers through uncertainty, establish effective architecture patterns, and raise engineering standards.
- Integration fluency Comfort navigating unfamiliar systems and safely changing frontend, backend, and integration boundaries.
- Engineering excellence Strong experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and pragmatic technical debt management.
- Collaborative communication The ability to explain tradeoffs, challenge assumptions constructively, and align Engineering, Product, Design, QA, and platform stakeholders.
BONUS POINTS 🌟
- Cloud and event driven systems Cloud native AWS applications using serverless services, asynchronous workflows, distributed systems, or event driven architecture.
- Infrastructure and delivery Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, or production operations.
- Frontend architecture Angular, React, or comparable frameworks, including application architecture, state management, design systems, performance, or accessibility.
- Backend breadth Node.js and TypeScript services or polyglot environments that include Go, Python, PHP, or other backend technologies.
- Production observability Monitoring, tracing, logging, metrics, incident diagnosis, and production operation.
- Technical growth Experience acting as a technical lead or clear progression toward broader Staff level leadership.
OUR STACK 🛠️
Our product teams work primarily with TypeScript across frontend and backend development. Frontend applications include Angular and modern web technologies. Backend and platform systems span Node.js, TypeScript, Go, PHP, Python, AWS, REST APIs, event driven architectures, relational and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, and modern observability tooling.
You do not need deep expertise in every technology we use. We are looking for deep expertise in a primary discipline, strong software engineering fundamentals, and confidence working across frontend, backend, and integration boundaries.

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation and growth drive everything we do. Our Engineering teams tackle complex technical challenges across a global, three-sided marketplace, building and scaling systems that serve millions of customers, riders and partners every day.
From real-time logistics to resilient infrastructure and marketplace optimisation, we design, build and operate technology that powers Deliveroo’s growth at scale.

London
team. This role is based in our London office with a

setup, typically 3 days in the office.
Get to know our
Engineering
team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.
About the Team
The Core BI team builds and operates the services, integrations and automation that power business intelligence across DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt. Our platforms help analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers and business teams discover trusted data and make informed decisions at scale.
We combine software engineering, platform ownership, and a strong user focus to make BI tooling reliable, secure, scalable and self-service. The team supports the current BI ecosystem while helping shape a more integrated experience across the DoorDash group.
About the Role
As a BI Engineer on the Core BI team, you will build and operate the models, systems and automation behind our BI platforms. This will include supporting our extensive user base on our current BI stack (primarily Looker and Sigma) while helping shape a single, more integrated BI platform across DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt.
You will own problems from discovery through design, implementation, deployment, and operational support. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product Managers and business teams to turn recurring user needs into durable, self-service capabilities. If you're energized by solving technical problems with data and comfortable being deeply embedded across several domains, this role is for you!
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
Own and evolve the semantic layer behind our BI platforms: LookML and Canvas BI models, metric and dimension definitions, and the governance that keeps them trusted
Build and operate the Looker and Sigma platforms themselves: instance and workspace configuration, permissions and user attributes, content lifecycle, and API-driven automation
Lead the development of self-serve tooling that removes manual BI administration, using usage analytics to decide what to automate, build or retire next
Support BI platform migrations and deprecations across DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt while protecting access, governance, data integrity and business continuity
Take part in operational support, production debugging and incident response for the BI stack, and fix the root causes you find
Champion engineering standards in BI, including version control, code review, CI and testing for models and platform code, so changes ship safely and repeatably
We’re excited about you because…
3+ years of experience in business intelligence engineering, analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar code-first data role
Strong Python and SQL skills, and hands-on experience using AI tools (LLMs, agentic workflows, AI-assisted development) to accelerate your own engineering work
Hands-on experience building in a BI platform such as Looker (LookML) or Sigma, modelling and configuring it, not only building dashboards in it
Experience with semantic or metrics layers (LookML, dbt or similar): defining metrics and dimensions, and keeping those definitions consistent as they are reused
Experience running what you build in production: version control, code review, CI, debugging live issues and taking part in operational support
Excellent communication skills, and comfortable self-organising in a fast-paced, distributed environment with both technical and non-technical teams
Nice to Have
Experience with modern data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift) and ability to optimize performance
Experience automating BI administration through platform APIs, or identity and access through Okta, SCIM or role-based access controls
Experience supporting a BI stack across multiple brands, tenants or regions, or leading a BI platform migration
Why Join Us?

Anthropic Fellows Program is designed to foster AI research and engineering talent by providing funding and mentorship to promising technical talent regardless of previous experience. Fellows primarily use external infrastructure such as open-source models and public APIs to work on empirical projects aligned with Anthropic's research priorities, aiming to produce public outputs like paper submissions. The program runs multiple cohorts yearly with rolling application reviews, expecting a start in January 2027 but flexible start dates can be requested.
The program includes 4 months of full-time research, direct mentorship from Anthropic researchers, access to a shared workspace, connection to the AI safety and security research community, a weekly stipend of 3,850 USD / 2,310 GBP / 4,300 CAD plus benefits varying by country, and funding for compute (~$15k/month) and other research expenses.
The interview process involves an initial application and reference check, technical assessments and interviews, and a research discussion. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every qualification, with emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
There are two main fellow tracks:
ML Systems & Performance Fellows:
- Mentors include Alwin Peng and Zygi Straznickas.
- Projects may involve building CPU simulators for accelerator workloads, adding backends for accelerators on open source projects, building on-demand infrastructure, and creating complex synthetic data or environment pipelines.
- Candidates should have strong software engineering skills, experience with complex ML systems, ability to balance research and engineering rigor, comfort with large-scale distributed systems and high-performance computing, experience with training or evaluating large language models, and skills in analyzing and debugging model training.
- Fluency in Python and full-time availability are required.
Reinforcement Learning Fellows:
- Mentors include Ruhua Jiang, Kaidi Cao, Sunny Duan, David Brandfonbrener, Colt Steele, Dino Distefano, and Will Williams.
- Projects may include building model-based tools to understand and improve AI training data, research on generalization, creating RL environments to improve Claude models and safety-related tasks, and research and implementation of RL algorithms.
- Candidate criteria are similar to ML Systems Fellows.
Logistics:
- Participants must have work authorization and be located in the US, UK, or Canada during the program.
- Shared workspaces are available in San Francisco; remote participation is allowed in the UK, US, or Canada.
- Visa sponsorship is not provided; candidates must have or obtain full-time work authorization independently.
- The program duration is 4 months full-time, with possible extensions and flexibility for partial commitments.
Additional notes:
- No guarantee of full-time offers post-program, though strong performers may receive offers or continue impactful AI safety work elsewhere.
- Anthropic's full-time role policies do not apply to the Fellows Program.
- The company emphasizes collaborative, large-scale AI research with a focus on safety, interpretability, and steerability.
- Candidates must be fluent in Python and able to commit full-time.
- The program values diversity and encourages applications from underrepresented groups.
- Safety advice is provided regarding recruitment communications.
