ABOUT SENTRY
Software runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building.
Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Sentry’s AI capabilities span infrastructure, product features, design, and data ingestion. We’re hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to connect this work across teams, helping them make decisions, manage dependencies, and deliver a cohesive product experience.
Our AI/ML team is building a modular platform for model routing, agent execution, and evaluations. Issues Platform owns customer-facing experiences such as issue details, activity feeds, and notifications. Product Design shapes how these experiences work together, while Ingest provides the underlying data pipeline.
You’ll lead the program across these teams: clarifying ownership, sequencing work, managing integration risks, and coordinating release readiness. You’ll partner with team leads to connect their plans and resolve gaps between roadmaps.
You’ll also improve how engineering changes reach teams across Engineering, Product, and Design, along with Documentation and Support. Your goal is a lightweight process giving partners the information and preparation time they need before changes reach customers.
You’ll join an early TPM team and help shape how the function works at Sentry. Success means helping teams deliver together through technical judgment, clear communication, and practical coordination.
This role is based in San Francisco, with three days per week in the office.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
AI DELIVERY
- Connect roadmaps across AI/ML, Issues Platform, Product Design, and Ingest into a shared delivery plan.
- Sequence platform capabilities, product features, and design work so teams address dependencies before they delay a release.
- Help teams assign accountable owners, resolve open decisions, and communicate commitments.
- Partner with engineering and product owners to define release readiness, including evaluation results, staged rollouts, eligibility, and access requirements.
- Bring ingestion and reliability dependencies into roadmap discussions so teams understand the risks behind delivery commitments.
- Drive risk mitigation with clear owners, contingency plans, and timely escalation.
- Give teams and leadership an accurate view of progress, dependencies, decisions, and risks.
CHANGE READINESS
- Build a lightweight process for identifying changes affecting other teams, notifying partners, and confirming readiness before release.
- Include documentation and support preparation in delivery planning, starting with AI features.
- Establish concise updates showing what is changing, when, and who needs to act.
- Review communication and readiness gaps with the teams involved, then improve the process.
- Keep the effort proportional to the change and remove steps which don’t improve delivery.
HOW YOU WORK
- You help teams bring structure to complex programs with unclear ownership or no established process.
- You listen to different perspectives, make tradeoffs visible, and help teams resolve competing priorities.
- You engage with technical details and connect architectural decisions to delivery risks and product outcomes.
- You raise risks early, propose practical responses, and follow through.
- You adapt processes to teams’ needs and simplify them when the value is unclear.
- You respect team ownership while helping cross-team decisions reach resolution.
- You share information clearly so partners have the context they need to contribute.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading complex technical programs from problem definition through launch.
- Experience coordinating delivery across multiple engineering teams with separate roadmaps and leadership.
- Technical understanding to review design proposals, discuss architectural tradeoffs with engineers, and identify integration risks and downstream effects.
- A track record of managing dependencies, driving risk mitigation, and adapting plans as conditions change.
- Experience creating or improving processes which teams adopted and sustained.
- Clear written communication, including program updates, decision records, and escalations with explicit next steps.
- Experience building alignment across engineering, product, and design through sound judgment and follow-through.
Relevant experience might come from technical program management, software engineering, or another role involving ownership of cross-team technical delivery.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Shipping AI/ML or LLM-backed features, including evaluations, quality checks, and staged rollouts.
- Partnering with product design to coordinate design and engineering work.
- Working with data pipelines, ingestion, or streaming infrastructure.
- Building developer tools or technical B2B products.
- Improving release communication across engineering, documentation, and support.
Experience in every preferred area is not required.
TEAM PRINCIPLES
- Make work visible. Keep plans, ownership, decisions, and next steps clear and current.
- Raise risks early. Give teams time to respond before delivery is affected.
- Reduce friction. Build practices which help teams get work done.
- Respect ownership. Support informed decisions and help accountable owners resolve open questions.
- Keep partners informed. Communicate changes to scope, timing, and readiness before they affect others.

You’ll own AI-assisted coding within Sentry’s Platform Engineering organization, building the systems and workflows AI coding agents need to contribute reliably to our codebase. Your work will span engineering teams, with Developer Infrastructure as your home base.
Your first focus will be making internal developer systems accessible to agents. Many workflows currently depend on human interaction through a UI. You’ll identify the most valuable gaps, expose those capabilities through APIs, and connect tools such as Claude Code to complete development workflows.
From there, you’ll improve the quality of AI-generated pull requests and automate recurring engineering work, including dependency upgrades, minor bug fixes, and maintenance. You’ll build the context and execution environment agents need: relevant repository information, tools and permissions, state management, tests, logs, recovery mechanisms, and evaluations.
You’ll partner with engineers across Sentry to understand where agents succeed, where they fail, and which changes improve the development process. This role combines technical direction with hands-on implementation, from choosing the problems to solve through building, measuring, and improving the solutions.
This role is based in San Francisco, with three days per week in the office to work closely with Platform teams and engineering leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Set priorities for AI-assisted development at Sentry, using engineer feedback and workflow data to identify where agents would provide the most value.
- Make internal developer systems accessible through APIs and build integrations enabling agents to complete workflows across those systems.
- Build context systems and agent execution tooling, including tool access, permissions, checkpoints, retries, and logging.
- Develop automated checks, evaluations, and feedback loops to improve the correctness, maintainability, and review readiness of AI-generated pull requests.
- Automate recurring work such as security dependency upgrades, minor bug fixes, and routine maintenance.
- Improve supporting developer workflows, including issue triage and CI/CD, where they limit agent effectiveness or create repetitive work for engineers.
- Lead changes across engineering teams, build agreement on priorities, and measure whether the tools reduce manual work and improve delivery.
HOW YOU WORK
- You’ve used AI coding agents on real development work and have informed views on their strengths, limitations, and failure modes.
- You bring structure to ambiguous problems, choose a practical starting point, and follow through on delivery.
- You move comfortably between infrastructure, backend systems, and developer tooling.
- You know when to build, integrate an existing tool, involve another team, or stop work with limited value.
- You combine data with direct feedback from engineers to assess whether a solution improves their work.
- You explain technical tradeoffs clearly and build alignment across teams and senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on ownership of production systems.
- Experience building developer tools, infrastructure, or automation used by engineering teams, such as CI/CD systems, internal APIs, code review tooling, or agent workflows.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools and agents, with an understanding of how context, tool access, and validation affect their output. Prior machine learning experience is not required.
- Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals, including experience building reliable integrations across systems.
- A track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives from problem definition through implementation and adoption.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical decisions and recommendations to senior engineering leaders.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience building agent harnesses, context systems, evaluations, or automated pull request workflows.
- Experience with code review tooling, static analysis, or automated testing.
- Experience measuring and improving developer experience or engineering productivity.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems or monolith decomposition.
- Public contributions to developer tooling or AI-assisted development projects.
The base salary range that Sentry reasonably expects to pay for this position is $220,000 to $400,000 USD, plus an annual performance bonus of up to 15% of base salary. A successful candidate’s actual base salary (or hourly wage) amount will be determined by a variety of relevant factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s work location, education, work and other relevant experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. A successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Sentry’s employee benefit plans/programs applicable to the candidate’s position (including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage). About the Team
Netlify is a product-led growth company with an unusually large organic top-of-funnel, where tens of thousands of people discover and sign up for Netlify every day. That organic motion is real and meaningful, but paid acquisition is a new investment area for the marketing team, and there's a clear opportunity to build that capability from the ground up.
As Senior Manager, Demand Generation & Performance Marketing, you'll own paid acquisition end to end - strategy, channel selection, budget, and the agency relationship that supports execution. You'll report to the CMO, with a planned transition to the VP of Growth Marketing as that function scales, and work closely with Marketing Operations, Data, Lifecycle, and Campaigns to make sure paid-acquired users don't just land, but convert and stick. This is a builder role at a company where the organic foundation is already strong, and your job is to build the paid layer that extends its reach.
What You'll Do
Build and own Netlify's paid acquisition strategy end to end, including paid search, paid social, retargeting, sponsorships, and any other channels worth testing and proving out.
Own the call on where paid creates incremental value for Netlify. Design the tests, prove which channels and audiences drive growth our organic funnel wouldn't have delivered anyway, and decide where to scale, where to hold, and where not to spend at all.
Manage the agency relationship(s) supporting paid/performance work by setting the brief, holding the agency accountable to targets, and deciding what to bring in-house as the function matures.
Own budget planning, pacing, and ROI reporting for all paid spend, and make the case for where to double down or pull back.
Partner with Marketing Operations to get attribution and UTM tracking right before scaling spend, so every dollar is measurable.
Define target audiences and channel mix aligned to Netlify's ICP; partner with Product Marketing on messaging inputs for paid creative.
Build the measurement framework for CAC, signup/pipeline contribution, and payback by channel.
Partner with Lifecycle and Campaigns to make sure paid-acquired users flow into the right onboarding and activation journeys, not just land and drop off.
As the program proves out, build the roadmap and case for a fully staffed paid/performance team.
What You'll Bring
6+ years in demand generation or performance marketing, with direct ownership of a paid acquisition budget in a B2B SaaS or product-led growth environment
Hands-on experience running paid search, paid social, and retargeting programs yourself - not just briefing agencies or reviewing their reports
A track record of standing up or significantly scaling a paid acquisition program at an early stage, where you had to build the infrastructure and not just optimize what was already there
Experience managing an external agency or partner relationship, including setting performance expectations and holding partners accountable to them
Working knowledge of attribution and marketing measurement, and a history of partnering with Marketing Ops or Data teams to get tracking right before spend scales
Some experience marketing to developers or technical audiences, or with a PLG motion where paid acquisition runs alongside a large organic and self-serve funnel
This Role Is a Great Fit If
You're energized by building and scaling a new paid program, not just optimizing one that's already mature.
You think like an owner of budget and outcomes, not just a briefs-and-reports manager of an agency.
You're comfortable moving between strategy (channel mix, targeting, budget allocation) and getting into the details yourself when it matters.
You care about attribution being right before spend scales, not as an afterthought.
You want to build in close partnership with Lifecycle, Campaigns, and Marketing Ops rather than run paid as a separate lane that hands off a spreadsheet at the end of the quarter

Candidates outside the US or in premium markets should consult with their Talent Acquisition partner regarding location-based ranges, as they may be higher or lower than the average US range listed. The starting pay will be determined based on multiple factors, including expertise and skills, market demands, experience, internal equity, and applicable geographic location. These compensation packages and ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
