ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Senior Business Systems Engineer to own and evolve Ramp’s Quote-to-Cash systems. You’ll build and maintain Ramp’s Salesforce-based quoting platform, contract workflows, and Billing/Core integrations that turn complex commercial agreements into accurate, supportable customer outcomes—from quote creation and approvals through order forms, provisioning, billing, renewals, and amendments.
This is not a Salesforce CPQ implementation role. Ramp uses an in-house Quote-to-Cash platform built on Salesforce, so we’re looking for a strong Salesforce engineer with experience in quoting, pricing, contracts, billing, subscriptions, or other complex commercial workflows.
This role sits in Growth Engineering’s Business Systems Engineering team and partners closely with Deal Desk, Legal, Finance, Billing Engineering, Product, and GTM teams. You’ll combine hands-on Salesforce engineering with systems design and strong commercial judgment to make high-stakes revenue workflows reliable, scalable, and easier for teams to use.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the Salesforce Platform.
- Design, build, and operate Ramp’s Salesforce-based Quote-to-Cash platform and the integrations between Salesforce, Ironclad, Billing/Core, and adjacent business systems. Own data contracts, idempotency, error handling, reconciliation, and safe lifecycle changes for quotes, contracts, and subscriptions.
- Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using in-house services and approved automation platforms.
- Drive architecture, tooling, and design decisions that keep commercial systems fast, reliable, and scalable.
- Write and communicate technical specifications, including architecture diagrams, data models, process flows, and sequence diagrams.
- Own data integrity and the operating assumptions for your domain; continually improve them.
- Partner with the rest of the team on code reviews, operational support, debugging, and solution design.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 7+ years building applications on the Salesforce Platform.
- 5+ years of systems architecture and integration experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apex, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and asynchronous processing.
- Working knowledge of another programming language, such as Python.
- Strong API and integration-design skills, including reliable handling of retries, duplicate events, partial failures, and data reconciliation.
- Experience with Quote-to-Cash domains such as quoting, pricing, approvals, contract lifecycle management, billing, subscriptions, renewals, or amendments. Experience with Salesforce CPQ is welcome but not required.
- Familiarity with the broader GTM stack beyond Salesforce, such as Gong, LeanData, contract lifecycle management, billing, or revenue systems.
- Strong knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns, streaming APIs, and publish/subscribe architectures.
- Working knowledge of data pipelines, CI/CD, Salesforce platform limits, code coverage, and unit-testing practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex commercial requirements into simple, durable system behavior with non-engineering partners.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully and evaluating their output.

- Startup-speed execution, ownership mindset, and a player-coach attitude
Bonus tacos if you have
- (Tacos? If you need an ice-breaker, ask how we say thanks by giving tacos!)
- Success at both high-growth startups and larger software vendors
- Direct experience deploying or supporting AI coding agents in customer environments (e.g. Claude Code, Devin, or similar autonomous/semi-autonomous dev tools)

OUR USE OF AI IN HIRING
We use AI tools to help manage our recruitment process efficiently and fairly. Specifically:
- Ashby and Brainerr help us review inbound applications by surfacing candidates who best match the role requirements we've defined. This tool does not make hiring decisions; it helps our team prioritize which applications to review first.
- Granola takes notes during our interview calls so our team can focus on the conversation with you.
All hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws. Your data is not used to train AI models.

Imunify360
is a leading developer of Linux infrastructure and security solutions. Our flagship product, Imunify360, is a comprehensive security suite that protects thousands of shared hosting environments, VPS, and dedicated servers worldwide. Our clients include industry giants such as Dell, GoDaddy, IBM, and Zoom, with over 4,500 customers globally. The company has more than 250 employees.
We are looking for an
engineer-architect
to build a
new product from scratch
. This is not a position within an existing team—you will single-handedly create a runtime protection layer for Node.js applications. The hosting market is rapidly adopting Node.js, and modern applications are increasingly generated by users with AI tools and little technical security expertise. Your mission is to make protection automatic, transparent to client code, and effective in real time.
This is a role with the highest level of
ownership
(Senior / Staff / Architect level), where you will make key architectural decisions and take full responsibility for the outcome.
Responsibilities
Define the technical approach for building runtime protection inside the Node.js process.
Design the detection logic to identify and block attacks during application execution.
Build and launch the first version of the product in real production environments.
Ensure the protection works
without requiring changes to client code
and without breaking legitimate applications.
Continuously improve the product based on telemetry, production feedback, and real-world incidents.
Achieve target values across four key metrics:
Runtime overhead
False positives
False negatives
Customer escalation volume
Requirements
The top priority is Security, not just Node.js.
Security experience outweighs general backend tenure.
Must-have:
Experience in Security Engineering or Security Research
(deep understanding of attack vectors and defense methods).
Have independently built and shipped a product/solution from scratch
(end-to-end ownership: from idea to production).
Ability to take an ambiguous problem, define a solution, and deliver a working result without constant supervision.
Experience designing architecture and making key technical decisions (Staff/Architect level is a strong plus).
English language:
Intermediate or higher
(written and spoken — all interviews are conducted in English).
Nice-to-have:
Security experience specifically in the context of Node.js (vulnerability analysis, securing, researching Node.js applications).
Experience with Linux in production and development environments.
Knowledge of Runtime Protection, WAF, instrumentation, malware analysis, and Incident Response.
Experience in managed hosting / VPS domains.
Experience with AI coding agents (Copilot, Cursor, etc.).
Important:
If you are a Security Engineer / Researcher who doesn't code on a daily basis, you must be comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and be capable of building an MVP with their help.
Who you are (mindset):
Builder:
You genuinely enjoy creating something new and seeing it run in production.
High ownership:
You don't wait for tasks to be assigned — you define the approach and own the results.
Practioner:
You write code (yourself or with AI), not just review and coordinate.
You understand
Detection Engineering
— how detection rules behave at scale across thousands of servers and the true cost of false positives.
We do NOT consider candidates who:
Have only theoretical or research experience without shipping real products.
Have general Node.js development experience but lack a security component.
Reside in countries with complex B2B tax reporting requirements (USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, and others — to be clarified during screening).
Have frequent job changes (every 1–2 years) without valid reasons.
Benefits
Format:
100% remote work anywhere in the world.
Legal setup:
B2B only (contract with your sole proprietorship or company).
Budget:
Up to $12,000 gross/month (before taxes, under a B2B agreement).
Company:
A stable, established international product company with 15+ years in the market.
Role:
A key position in building a new product line from the ground up.
Location: Canada, Waterloo, ON

Proven track record of solving ambiguous, cross-functional problems with minimal direction and driving alignment without relying on formal authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document architecture and explain complex technical decisions clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with console development, living-room interfaces, focus-based navigation, or performance-constrained native clients.
Experience with schema-backed declarative UI, domain-specific languages, JSON Schema, component expansion, data binding, hydration, or client-side rendering engines.
Experience building or integrating client SDKs, content management or merchandising systems, personalization platforms, experimentation frameworks, or design systems.
Experience migrating a large client application away from a legacy rendering or content-delivery framework using staged rollout, compatibility layers, and measurable exit criteria.
Experience developing platform adapters or renderers for iOS, Android, web, or other native client environments.
Familiarity with content and layout separation, runtime content sources, telemetry provenance, accessibility, localization, and safe fallback behavior.
Experience with developer tooling, visual preview systems, contract testing, schema validation, or automated cross-platform regression testing.
Experience applying generative AI or agentic workflows to software or content creation, including evaluation, governance, and deterministic output constraints.
A track record of technical leadership and mentoring across multiple teams.
Additional Skills
Motivated self-starter who combines long-term architectural thinking with pragmatic, incremental delivery.
Customer-focused and attentive to developer experience, operational usability, and measurable product outcomes.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with partners across product, design, engineering, and operations.

About the role
As an Intermediate Backend Engineer, you will take backend features and improvements from clarifying the problem through shipping them and following up in production. You will work within a product area, partnering with Product Management, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Security to deliver predictably and contribute to the quality, security, performance, and maintainability of shared backend code and services. You will be trusted to work with minimal guidance, to know when to seek help, and to communicate clearly in a remote, asynchronous environment — with other tenured engineers alongside you to review your work, think through hard problems with you, and help you grow.
Why you’ll love this role
Ownership:
You'll take features from requirements through delivery and follow-up; your code will run on a platform used by millions of users.
Learning and Growth :
You’ll work alongside your engineering team, who treat code review and design review as a learning loop rather than a gate — one of the fastest ways to grow your engineering judgment.
Innovative Culture:
You’ll use AI as a genuine part of daily engineering work, developing the judgment to know when to trust it and when not to.
Autonomy:
You’ll thrive in our remote-first, asynchronous organization, where clear written communication and self-direction are the pillars of success.
User-Centric Collaboration:
You’ll partner closely with PMs and designers to shape requirements, so you understand why you’re building something, not just what.
What you’ll do
Own and Ship Features:
Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance, working in Ruby/Rails, Go, or any other modern languages.
Build for Production:
Write maintainable, secure, observable, and performant code. Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, integrations, and bounded service functionality, and work with data models, migrations, indexes, and query behavior.
Test and Review:
Add and improve automated coverage — unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end where appropriate — and review others’ code for correctness, maintainability, security, performance, and operational risk.
Operate What You Build:
Investigate build, test, deployment, and runtime failures at the feature boundary, identify technical debt and propose practical improvements, and take part in on-call or operational support where your team’s ownership model requires it.
Leverage AI:
Use AI productively in daily work, validate what it produces, and understand where its limitations matter.
What you’ll bring
Backend Fundamentals:
Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications, with strong programming, API, database, testing, debugging, and performance fundamentals.
Adaptability:
Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or any other modern backend language. We value the ability to learn and adapt over mastery of a single language.
Feature Ownership:
The ability to take a feature from clarification through delivery and follow-up, working independently while seeking input at the right time.
Practical Judgment:
Sound instincts about security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational risk, plus an understanding of modular backend boundaries and the consequences of coupling.
Clear Communication:
Strong written communication and effective collaboration in a remote, asynchronous environment.
AI Fluency:
Practical experience with AI coding tools, including the ability to review and correct what they generate.
Helpful experience
Production Go services, APIs, concurrency, profiling, or gRPC.
Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, or cloud deployment.
Rust, particularly for systems, security, performance, or platform work.
PostgreSQL, schema evolution, caching, queues, messaging, or event-driven workflows.
Observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
Contributing to a modular monolith, bounded context, shared component, or independently operated service.

About the role
As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across your team and adjacent teams, solving the highest-scope and most complex problems in your area. You will lead large, cross-cutting backend initiatives, drive our modular architecture strategy, and define the standards that let teams move faster without compromising quality, security, reliability, or operability.
This is a technical leadership role that combines deep backend expertise, systems judgment, product judgment, and influence across organizational boundaries. You will work with Product, Frontend, Infrastructure, Security, Data, Engineering Managers, and engineers across product groups, bringing subject matter expertise, and you will do it without relying on formal authority.
Why you’ll love this role
Leverage:
Your work multiplies across teams. The platforms, standards, and architectural decisions you lead determine how quickly everyone else can ship.
Genuinely Hard Problems:
You’ll lead the modernization of a large monolith toward modular, reusable, appropriately independent systems — at the scale of a platform used by millions of users.
Influence Without Bureaucracy:
You’ll shape technical direction across teams through clear written proposals and decision records, and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform roadmap and investment trade-offs.
Frontier AI Work:
You’ll lead adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows and define the review, quality, security, and privacy guardrails that make them safe to rely on.
Autonomy:
You’ll thrive in our remote-first, asynchronous organization, where clear written communication and self-direction are the pillars of success.
What you’ll do
Lead Cross-Cutting Initiatives:
Lead the technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives that span teams, and identify and remove systemic bottlenecks across product and infrastructure groups.
Own Architecture Strategy:
Drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture. Lead modernization of the monolith and legacy backends toward modular, reusable, and appropriately independently operated systems — while preventing fragmentation and service sprawl.
Set the Standards:
Define and improve standards for APIs, contracts, compatibility, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, observability, operability, and maintainability — plus the build, test, deploy, release, rollback, and production-readiness practices needed to operate modular features safely.
Establish Shared Patterns:
Create the patterns for dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, and operational documentation. Establish Go service patterns and Kubernetes operating practices where they matter to our production estate, and guide Rust adoption where it solves a real systems, security, performance, or supply-chain problem.
Own What You Build in Production:
Take part in on-call and incident response for the systems your teams own, act as a technical escalation point during complex incidents, and turn what you learn into architectural and operational improvements that prevent recurrence.
Influence and Partner:
Shape technical direction across teams without formal authority, and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform-level roadmap decisions and investment trade-offs.
Grow Engineers:
Mentor Senior and Intermediate engineers, shepherd technical debt reduction and reusable patterns that improve throughput, and raise the technical capability of the wider team.
Lead AI Adoption:
Lead team-level adoption of AI-assisted and agentic workflows, including the quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails, and help engineers direct, validate, reject, and course-correct agent output.
What you’ll bring
Cross-Team Technical Leadership:
A sustained record of technical leadership across more than one team or a broad product area.
Deep Architecture Experience:
Deep backend architecture and production experience in complex applications, services, or platforms, including scaling or governing APIs, service platforms, data systems, modular monoliths, or shared backend components.
Modularization in Production:
Experience modernizing a monolith or legacy backend architecture in production, and with modular architecture such as bounded contexts, package encapsulation, ports and adapters, service extraction, event-driven boundaries, or an equivalent approach.
Influence Without Authority:
A strong ability to create alignment through clear written proposals and decision records, so decisions are documented, understood, and adopted without constant escalation.
Product Judgment:
The ability to balance customer outcomes, delivery speed, technical health, reliability, and long-term platform investment.
Mentorship:
Experience mentoring engineers and shaping standards through code review, documentation, and example.
Agentic AI Leadership:
Production experience with AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows, including the ability to evaluate and improve how a team adopts them.

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our Sales Engineering team. You will partner with Account Executives to qualify, progress, and close revenue opportunities with Fortune 500 prospects — guiding them through demos, architecture discussions, and proofs-of-concept that prove Coder’s value for both human developers and the AI coding agents working alongside them.
This is not a scripted-demo-only role. You are equally comfortable running a deep technical proof-of-concept and stepping back to translate a technical win into a business case an economic buyer will act on. You are energized by ambiguity, motivated by winning deals the right way, and capable of bringing the voice of the prospect back into how Coder builds and sells.
What you will be doing:
- Own the technical relationship with prospects through pre-sales, and efficiently manage towards a technical win
- Demo the Coder platform from the developer, administrator, and AI agent workflow perspectives
- Install Coder on cloud and on-prem Kubernetes or VM infrastructure
- Run proofs-of-concept that prove Coder’s value including for agentic and LLM-powered development workflows and accelerate deals
- Evolve into a subject-matter expert on Cloud Development Environments, agentic AI development, and their business impact
- Serve as the prospect’s and customer’s voice, routing insights to Engineering and Product

INTERVIEW PROCESS
We believe that the interview process should be transparent, consistent, and enjoyable. We value your time and hope to complete the interview process in two to four weeks, if schedules allow. Through your interviews, you will meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and senior leaders.
AI USE DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
As an AI company, Coder embraces the use of AI tools, and we want to be transparent about our expectations as you navigate our interview process.
Not permitted: Using AI assistance during conversational interviews.
Permitted: Using AI tooling for take-home assessments. Please flag where and to what extent it was used in your take-home. Your submission will not be penalized for using AI as long as it is done honestly.
In accordance with New York City Local Law 144, an independent bias audit has been conducted on "Automated Employment Decision Tools"; results are available for Ashby https://www.ashbyhq.com/downloadables/ashby-bias-audit-08-2024.pdf.
If you're applying for a role at Coder and have questions about how we use AI in our process, or if you'd like to request information about the data we collect, please contact careers@coder.com.

RevenueCat gives app businesses the infrastructure and tools to build, run, and improve their monetization. Since graduating from YC's S18 batch, we've grown into the default monetization platform for mobile.
We're in 50%+ of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $16B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo developer to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.
We're a remote-first team of 150+ people across 25+ countries, guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance.
This isn't the right fit for everyone. The systems you’ll build here manage billions of dollars and touch hundreds of millions of end users, and we don’t take that lightly. You'll be expected to work hard and hold a high bar for what you ship, alongside some of the sharpest, most driven people you've worked with. If that sounds energizing rather than exhausting, keep reading.
THE ROLE
RevenueCat helps app developers manage subscriptions and make more money from them. Maybe you're an indie developer who doesn’t know what "conversion" even means, you just want your app to make money so you can keep building it. Or maybe you're a growth specialist at a company doing millions a month, and pricing experiments are already your whole job. Either way, you probably didn't get into this to spend your days staring at a dashboard. So we built two AI agents to do that work for you, or make you even sharper at it if you're already a pro.
Enter Rico. Rico watches over your subscription business and can help you make sense of it, and act on what it finds. Say your revenue dropped last week. You don't need to go digging through charts to find out why. Just ask Rico. It pulls the data, explains what happened in plain language, and shows you how you compare to similar apps. Then it can fix things itself, like setting up a new plan or restoring a customer's access, with you approving the change before it goes live. Run a pricing experiment and Rico will read the results for you and tell you which version is winning. There are so many things we want Rico to be able to do!
Then there's our AI Paywall Editor, a specialized agent to build and edit paywalls, the screen that asks someone to subscribe. Most developers are not designers, and a paywall that actually gets people to tap "subscribe" is harder to build than it looks, so the AI Paywall Editor helps you with that. Use it in our online editor, from the command line, or hook your own AI tools into it over MCP.
You can see both agents in action in our most recent product launch recap https://www.revenuecat.com/blog/engineering/launch-party-june-26-the-new-features-you-should-know.
This is a role for engineers who've built advanced agents that do actual work, not just a thin wrapper around an LLM. You'll ship agentic features to thousands of developers, and you’ll shape the foundation everything else runs on: orchestration, tool execution, context management, evaluation and human-in-the-loop controls.
ABOUT YOU
- You have 8+ years of experience shipping production systems.
- You've built agents that other people actually use and the systems around them: tool use, structured output, context management, evaluation, orchestration.
- You have strong backend fundamentals. You've built systems that need to be reliable, observable, and secure.
- You hold a high bar for quality and instinctively know which details matter, but also are discerning enough to cut scope when needed while still delivering value.
- You’re customer-obsessed: you imagine yourself as the developer, product manager, or marketer using the feature or experiencing the issue.
- You’re a builder, not an implementer: scoping, prioritizing, and driving rollout in partnership with our Product team. This isn’t a role where you check off items from a detailed specification.
- You can quickly familiarize yourself with code you didn't write yourself and improve it.
- You’re scrappy and biased toward shipping. You’d rather ship a good version today and iterate than wait to ship a perfect one next quarter.
- You communicate clearly, both in real-time and asynchronously. We’re a fully remote team, and how you write is as important as how you code.
- You’ve shipped meaningful user-facing features to production, monitored their usage and adoption, and improved them over time.
- You write high-quality, well-tested code, debug issues methodically, and help raise the engineering bar through thoughtful feedback and mentorship.
- You act like an founder:: you notice problems, propose improvements, and follow through fast.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity. This is an early stage product inside a growth stage company, and the architecture is still being figured out.
- You're self directed. You figure out what needs to be built, build it, and ship it.
- You are curious and stay current on AI tools and practices.
- You have a habit of sharing what you learn with others.
IDEALLY, YOU HAVE:
- Familiarity with subscription business models, app stores, or developer tools
- Experience with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs specifically
- Experience with observability frameworks (Langfuse, Langchain, etc.)
- Built Slack integrations
- Contributed to open source AI/ML tooling
- Maintained systems at scale
IN THE FIRST MONTH, YOU’LL:
- Meet frequently with your team and manager to get up to speed
- Learn our tools, processes, and the subscription business concepts that shape our product
- Get familiar with our debugging tools, infrastructure, and overall architecture
- Ship your first project: a small feature that gets you into the codebase and shows you how the agents talk to RevenueCat's APIs
- Jump in early: fix bugs, ship small improvements, and weigh in on PRs
WITHIN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Ship a medium sized project, ideally a new agentic feature that reaches tens of thousands of developers
- Understand the main product areas your team owns and how they work end to end
- Understand our current agent infrastructure, orchestration, the eval pipeline, the tool framework, and the trust and permissions layer, and have opinions on how to improve it
- Scope and work on projects on your own, from idea to post launch improvements
- Take part in code reviews, bug bashes, and technical discussions
WITHIN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Become the go to engineer for certain focus areas
- Have made the agents measurably more reliable, faster, and capable
- Contribute to architecture discussions that affect more than just your team
- Mentor other engineers joining the team
- Talk directly with customers to understand how your work actually lands
- Debug issues across frontend, backend, and data. Communicate clearly during incidents and drive fixes that prevent repeats
- Learn the basics of incident response and join the on call rotation
WITHIN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Have built infrastructure the rest of the team ships agents on top of
- Know all the major components of our system and be able to debug complex issues
- Write proposals and drive major architecture discussions
- Spec and architect large projects, gather feedback, and drive design validation and rollout plans
- Have made RevenueCat an AI native company in large part because you built the engine underneath it
- Have your own initiatives for improving our product and systems, grounded in real customer priorities
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Competitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator
- 10-year window to exercise vested equity options
- A fully remote environment designed around autonomy and flexibility
- 4-5 weeks of flexible time off annually
- Paid desk at a co-working space
- Workspace budget and continuous learning stipend

THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Product oriented Fullstack Engineer to design, build, ship, and own end-to-end product features used by thousands of developers and hundreds of millions of end-users.
We’re specifically looking for someone with a strong backend foundation who is also genuinely proficient in React.
This is a hands-on IC role. We are looking for someone product-focused, but deeply technical. You’ll work across frontend, backend, and data boundaries, making thoughtful tradeoffs to deliver reliable, high-quality systems. You’ll take ownership from problem definition through production rollout and long-term maintenance, the scoping and prioritization work as much as the code.
“Product-focused” at RevenueCat means pairing strong engineering fundamentals with good judgment, customer obsession, and a bias toward shipping — not trading correctness, reliability, or scalability for speed, but also not letting “perfect” get in the way of “shipped today.”
ABOUT YOU
- You have 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend foundation and a track record of building and operating high-scale production systems.
- You can write advanced SQL statements beyond basic SELECT and UPDATE statements.
- You’re proficient in React and have genuinely built on the frontend before. You’re comfortable owning UI work, not just backend APIs.
- You have solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals, and an understanding of HTTP and browser–server interactions
- You're comfortable coding alongside AI tools like Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code. You use them to move faster on the parts that don't need your full attention, and you're detail-oriented enough to catch when they're wrong.
TECHNOLOGIES YOU’LL LIKELY WORK WITH:
- TypeScript
- React
- PostgreSQL
- Python
- Flask
- AWS-hosted systems, following best practices for deployment, monitoring, and reliability
A note: Our interview process includes two separate live-coding sessions: one on frontend fundamentals and one on SQL, data logic, and algorithmic programming. We've found strength in both is a strong predictor of success in this role.
IN THE FIRST MONTH, YOU’LL:
- Meet frequently with your team and manager to get up to speed.
- Get familiar with our tools, processes, and core subscription-business concepts.
- Complete a First Ship project.
- Jump in early: fix bugs, ship small improvements, and weigh in on PRs.
WITHIN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Have shipped a medium-sized project successfully.
- Understand the main product areas your team owns and how they work end to end.
- Scope and work on projects self-sufficiently, from idea to post-launch improvements.
- Actively participate in code reviews, bug bashes, and technical discussions.
- Continuously improve areas of your team’s codebase and product.
WITHIN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Become the go-to engineer for certain focus areas.
- Proactively contribute to architecture discussions that impact more than just your team.
- Debug issues across frontend, backend, and data; communicate clearly during incidents; drive fixes that prevent repeats.
- Engage directly with customers to understand how your work actually lands.
- Mentor other engineers joining the team and raise the bar through feedback and guidance.
WITHIN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Know all the major components of our system and be able to debug complex issues across it.
- Spec and architect large projects, gather feedback, and drive design validation and rollout plans.
- Lead your own initiatives for improving our product and systems, grounded in real customer and business priorities.
