Metabase is the easiest way for people to get insights from their data, from tiny startups who get up and running quickly to major corporations with tens of thousands of users. That's why people love us.
We bring data tools with the elegance and simplicity of consumer products to the crufty world of enterprise business intelligence. We provide an opinionated open source starting point for how companies should measure, analyze and share their data, which is used by tens of thousands of companies.
The opportunity
We've seen firsthand how powerful in-person community connection can be — from our flagship Meetabase in Argentina to customer-hosted events in Madrid, and casual bar meetups organized when team members travel through Europe. We're ready to take this to the next level, and we're looking for someone who can help us think and operate at a different scale. That means owning a full portfolio of event types — from our annual user conference to executive dinners to community-hosted gatherings — and bringing an experimental mindset to all of it. You won't just execute events well; you'll design programs, run tests, measure what works, and build a scalable playbook grounded in real data.
What you’ll own
Program Design
Own the overall community events plan, including how different event types ladder up to company goals around awareness, retention, pipeline, and community health
Design events as experiments: define hypotheses, set measurable goals, and build in the feedback loops needed to learn and iterate
Maintain a forward-looking events calendar aligned to product launches, regional growth priorities, and company milestones
Identify and prioritize target cities and regions based on community density, product usage data, and expansion opportunity
Event portfolio
Lead planning and execution of our annual user conference (Meetabase) end-to-end
Support and scale community-hosted events by providing toolkits, resources, and coordination for local organizers who want to run their own gatherings
Own demand gen events, including executive dinner and VIP programming — curating guest lists, formats, and experiences that deepen relationships with key customers and prospects
Coordinate informal and formal meetups and community visits globally
Operations and measurement
Own all event logistics: venue sourcing and negotiation, catering, AV, signage, swag, guest lists, and international shipping
Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement across multiple time zones and currencies
Define and track KPIs for every event type — from attendance and engagement to pipeline influence and community NPS — and report out regularly
Gather attendee feedback — quantitative and qualitative — and synthesize insights to continuously raise the bar on quality and impact
Build and maintain playbooks, templates, and toolkits so programs can be handed off, replicated, and improved over time
Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Success Engineering on branding, messaging, and lead handoff
What you bring
Experience in event management, community marketing, or field marketing at a tech company, with a track record of owning both large flagship events and smaller programmatic ones
A strategic, data-driven approach: you define success before you start, and you know how to structure even a small dinner as a learning opportunity
Experience managing a diverse portfolio of event formats — conferences, executive programs, community events, meetups — not just one type
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across time zones
Comfortable with international logistics: foreign vendors, cross-border shipping, multi-currency payments
Confident negotiator with vendors and venues; familiarity with contracts and procurement
Self-starter who thrives in a remote, async environment with high autonomy
Ability to travel internationally when needed
Bonus: experience in SaaS, data analytics, or open-source communities
Bonus: fluency in additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, etc.)
Why this role matters
This role is the strategic engine behind how Metabase shows up for its community in the real world. Every event you design is both a relationship-builder and a learning opportunity — a chance to deepen connections, surface honest feedback, generate new evangelists, and test what actually moves the needle. You're not just running events; you're building a program that compounds over time.
Compensation
The US base salary range for this role is $72.8K–$186K annually, plus equity and benefits.
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, and scope of responsibility. Pay may vary by geographic location and other job-related factors.
Benefits
We offer meaningful equity and a comprehensive US benefits package, including fully employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance (with 75% coverage for dependents), a 401(k) with employer match available to enroll after the first 30 days, flexible and unlimited paid time off including sick time, and an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
We're a global team (50% outside the US), fully distributed (from Thailand to California), who get things done asynchronously, with plenty of uninterrupted time, supporting each other to do the best work of our careers. We offer flexibility (define your own schedule and work from wherever you want), autonomy, and an environment that fosters growth, learning, and development. We're relentlessly user-focused and believe in building long-term value, not short-term hacks. And we raised a $30M Series B to take our approach to the next level for years to come.
For U.S. applicants: Metabase participates in the federal E-Verify program, which confirms employment authorization of newly hired U.S. based employees. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates and is only initiated upon hire.

Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.
We recently closed a €115 million Series C equity round (around $133 million), bringing our total funding to approximately $346 million. This significant investment follows a $105 million growth funding round from General Catalyst, a long-term backer since 2021 known for supporting companies like Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe.
Finom's platform goes beyond traditional banking, offering invoicing and a growing suite of features, including AI-enabled accounting, aiming to simplify financial management for entrepreneurs. We're actively expanding our reach across key EU markets like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.
At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thinks like a product builder, thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, and is passionate about creating robust, scalable financial infrastructure. You'll be part of a domain team where various engineering crafts (Backend, Frontend, Mobile, ML/AI engineers, and QA) work together to own and evolve a shared product area that delivers real value to hundreds of thousands of businesses across Europe.
About You and What You'll Do:
You're pragmatic, learn quickly, and have a proven track record of shipping products that matter. You communicate clearly across disciplines and genuinely enjoy the dynamics of a cross-functional team where everyone contributes to solving the same customer problems. Above all, you're curious – about the product, the users, the business, and how your technical decisions impact all three.
As a product-minded backend engineer, you don't just implement tickets. You understand the "why" behind what you're building, challenge assumptions when needed, and proactively identify opportunities to create better outcomes. You're comfortable discussing trade-offs with product managers, explaining technical constraints to business stakeholders, and collaborating with frontend and mobile engineers to design elegant end-to-end solutions.
You have deep expertise in .NET and C# with a strong appreciation for maintainable, scalable code, and distributed architectures. But more importantly, you know when to apply that expertise and when simpler solutions serve the product better. You've built data-intensive applications before and understand the concepts of working in a regulated environment.
You take ownership not just of your code, but of the outcomes. You move without being prompted, whether that's jumping into a customer issue, improving team processes, or mentoring colleagues. You're curious about adjacent domains – you might peek at the frontend code, ask questions about the ML models, or dive into analytics to understand how features perform.
Quality is non-negotiable for you. Automated testing, thorough code reviews, and security best practices are fundamental to how you work. You balance technical excellence with pragmatism, always keeping the end user and business goals in mind.
Your experience includes:
At least 5 years of professional backend development with a product engineering mindset
Excellent knowledge of .NET platform and C#
Hands-on experience architecting and evolving distributed systems in production
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers from other disciplines
Strong business acumen – you understand how your work connects to company objectives
Clear, concise communication in English across technical and non-technical audiences
A builder's mentality: you care deeply about shipping great products, not just writing great code
Our tech stack
Backend: .NET/C#, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes, GCP.
You'll work alongside teams using React (Web), Swift (iOS) / Kotlin (Android), Python/ML frameworks, and modern test automation tools (Playwright, Appium).

About the role
Finance at Descript isn’t a back office function. It’s a strategic partner in shaping where and how we grow. This role exists to turn insight into leverage, helping the company make smarter bets, allocate capital effectively, and improve the efficiency of our go to market engine. You will report to the VP of Finance and operate as a senior individual contributor with high ownership.
Your scope covers the full growth funnel, from top of funnel through conversion, retention, and ARR. You will own GTM and growth models, partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Data teams, act as a thought partner to GTM leadership on goal setting, performance tracking, and identifying growth opportunities across self serve, product led, and sales led motions.
We are looking for someone who sees GTM finance as both analytical and strategic. Someone who enjoys building models and metrics, but also shaping the narrative around growth. You are comfortable working directly in SQL, navigating imperfect data, and translating complexity into clear recommendations that influence how Descript grows.
What you will do
Own Descript’s top of funnel and growth models, from signups to paid conversion to ARR and retention.
Own sales-led revenue forecasting, including pipeline modeling, win rates, sales capacity, and quota-driven ARR.
Build and maintain GTM financial models including ARR builds, channel performance, cohort analysis, and scenario modeling.
Partner deeply with the data team to define metrics, improve data framework, and enable reliable self-serve analytics for finance and GTM.
Design and maintain dashboards for key GTM metrics such as signups by channel, conversion rates, new ARR, retention, and payback.
Identify growth opportunities across self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted motions and quantify their impact.
Define GTM goal setting frameworks and track performance against targets.
Analyze marketing and growth efficiency, including ROI, CAC, payback, and funnel conversion.
Support pricing, packaging, and monetization initiatives with clear financial analysis.
Communicate insights to leadership in a clear, decision-oriented way, including exec and board materials when needed.
What you bring
7 to 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, GTM finance, growth analytics, or related roles at SaaS companies.
Strong GTM intuition with hands-on experience in top of funnel analysis, ARR modeling, and revenue forecasting.
Advanced SQL skills and the ability to self-serve data end to end.
Experience supporting both B2B and B2C SaaS models.
Strong financial modeling skills, especially around growth scenarios and funnel dynamics.
Experience supporting monetization experiments, pricing, and packaging
Experience partnering with data teams and working with large, imperfect datasets.
Clear communicator who can translate data into actions and recommendations.
Comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, and building things from scratch.
Solid understanding of SaaS metrics across PLG and sales-led motions.
If you don’t tick every box above, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’re building a diverse team whose skills balance and complement one another.
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $215,000/year. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, and location, and may vary from the amount above.
