We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in a production SaaS environment.
- Strong experience building backend services in a modern language (e.g. Go, Node.js, Ruby, or Python)

- Partner closely with product, design, and data to refine hypotheses, define measurable outcomes, and interpret results.
- Balance rapid iteration with long-term architectural health and security.
- Set an example in code reviews by evaluating code quality, architectural alignment, performance, security, and adherence to best practices.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical design discussions, and pairing.
- See your work directly influence measurable customer and business outcomes.
Bonus points for:
- Security experience with understanding of security-focused development practices, threat modeling, and building systems that handle sensitive data
- Experience working with containerized services and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience working with transactional email systems at scale, including ESPs and SMTP relays such as Amazon SES and SendGrid.

Our culture
At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.
You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.

Join OLX and see how far you can go.
Join Our Team as an AI-native Staff Backend Engineer!
Join one of our cross-functional teams in Motors, Real Estate, OLX Classifieds, or Platforms, working remotely from Poland.
Are you someone who is craving scalable problems and dealing with optimizations?
You'll work with a creative, critical, and well-organized team from the comfort of your house, but as close as we have ever been!
You will play a key role in enabling our organisation to scale efficiently.
Who we are looking for:
You can use agentic workflows (Claude Code, Cursor Agent, or equivalent) as your default, not as a novelty.
You practice context engineering, not just prompt engineering; you design the full information architecture an AI agent needs to succeed: repo structure, CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md configs, relevant code context, memory, and tool access.
You understand model routing trade-offs (e.g., when to use Haiku vs. Sonnet vs. Opus) and multi-agent orchestration.
Strong ownership instinct: AI output is a first draft, not a deliverable; you validate, refactor, and take full accountability.
You have strong Coding and Computer Science Fundamentals. Roughly ⅔ of your time will be hands-on technical work: designing solutions, steering and reviewing AI-generated code, developing new ideas, and reviewing others' contributions. The rest goes to cross-team influence, mentoring, and strategic alignment.
Strong background experience in Golang, Java/Kotlin (preferred technologies), and able to work with PHP. Flexible and capable of adjusting to changing project requirements, roles, and backend technologies as needed.
Scalable Systems Expertise. Experience with large-scale web applications, an economic-thinking mindset, and being able to design well-bounded future-proof domain systems, aligned with the business objectives.
Deep expertise in scalable distributed systems, CI/CD, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, AWS, and relational + NoSQL databases.
Big-picture thinker: aligns technical decisions with business strategy, influences without authority.
Clear communicator in English across engineering, product, and leadership audiences.
Self-starter who identifies what needs doing and takes initiative without waiting to be asked.
Skilled Technical Leader and Mentor: Guide and support engineers by setting a strong example. As a Staff Engineer, you are a role model, leading by example and through your expertise.
What you will be doing:
Architect context pipelines for AI agents: curate what enters the context window (repo boundaries, domain knowledge, test outputs, CI feedback) so agents produce reliable, mergeable code, not just plausible code.
Prepare task specifications that are agent-actionable (clear acceptance criteria, referenced modules, explicit constraints)
Design and maintain agent-ready systems: well-bounded repos, comprehensive test suites as guardrails, CI/CD pipelines with structured output agents can parse and act on.
Serve as an AI Champion: join and strengthen our growing AI Champion community, contribute to workshops, curate effective agentic workflows, and mentor engineers on AI-assisted practices. Contribute to org-level AI tooling evaluations and OLX AI practices repositories.
Drive active migration from a legacy monolith to microservices, owning decisions on bounded domain decomposition. Working on making agentic workflows effective across a codebase whose boundaries are actively being redefined.
Set the bar for GraphQL API design, RESTful contracts, database schema, and CI/CD quality across the tribe.
Work with product and engineering leadership to identify high-value problems, propose initiatives, and drive impactful technical direction without direct authority
Guide senior engineers in managing and reducing technical debt with AI as an accelerator, not a shortcut.

About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
The CDN Content team is responsible for serving all content that flows through Vercel's global CDN — static assets, optimized images, incrementally regenerated pages, partially prerendered shells, and everything in between — to billions of requests for millions of developers. Our focus is performance: ensuring content is served globally as fast as possible. Caching plays a big role in making that happen, and the team operates a multi-tier caching architecture spanning in-process caches, regional cache services, and object storage across 20+ regions.
As a Software Engineer on the team, you'll take on well-scoped projects with real production impact and grow into owning larger pieces of the system. The work spans the serving path end to end, and everything ships through careful, progressive rollouts validated with production data. You'll learn how a planet-scale CDN works from engineers who built it.
This is a team where infrastructure meets product: we work in close partnership with frameworks such as Next.js, bringing framework-defined infrastructure to life on Vercel's CDN, and the serving and caching behavior we ship directly shapes the performance and cost that millions of developers see. You'll develop strong instincts for distributed systems, careful production rollouts, and data-driven engineering.
If you're based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF or NY), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.
What you'll do
Build and improve the services behind ISR, PPR, and image optimization — working in Go, Lua, and TypeScript across the serving path.
Execute well-defined projects independently, from implementation through safe rollout (feature flags, shadow modes, progressive deployment) and post-ship validation.
Monitor and maintain your work in production: build dashboards, add metrics and alerts, and develop ownership of what you ship.
Contribute to the team's observability and testing surface — the dashboards, log views, and e2e test suites that keep a high-change system trustworthy.
Participate in the on-call rotation with support from senior engineers, and contribute to incident follow-ups that make the system more resilient.
Collaborate with teammates and partner teams (Next.js, CI/CD) through design discussions, code review, and pairing.
What you need
2+ years of experience building and operating backend services in production.
Proficiency in at least one of Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or a comparable systems language, and enthusiasm for working across a polyglot stack.
Solid understanding of HTTP and web fundamentals — caching headers, request/response lifecycle, what a proxy does.
You write code you're willing to operate: tested, instrumented, and documented.
Curious about how large-scale systems work, and motivated to dig into unfamiliar code and production data to figure things out.
A collaborative teammate who communicates clearly, asks good questions, and follows through reliably.
Bonus if you
Have experience with caching systems (CDNs, Redis/Memcached, application-level caches) at any scale.
Have AWS experience, particularly S3 or ElastiCache.
Have used Next.js or another modern web framework and understand rendering modes like SSR/SSG/ISR.
Have experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Honeycomb, or similar).
Have experience with Terraform or Kubernetes.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $172,000 - $258,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.

We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
Staff Backend Engineer - Adaptive Telemetry, Databases
This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the USA time zones.
What is Grafana Cloud?
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack.
The Databases department owns and operates the telemetry databases that are
Mimir for metrics
,
Loki for logs
,
Tempo for traces
, and
Pyroscope for profiles
. We offer our databases as a Cloud service supporting Grafana Cloud.
Adaptive Telemetry Group
The Adaptive Telemetry group, part of the Databases department, has the mission of ensuring that all telemetry stored in our databases is worthy of attention. Under that mission, the group is responsible for the development of
Adaptive Metrics
,
Adaptive Logs
,
Adaptive Traces
and Adaptive Profiles.
Our Adaptive Telemetry solutions give users the ability to control and optimize their telemetry data. These solutions ensure that data storage is optimized based on individual usage patterns, so only the most valuable data is retained.
As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a new perspective to the software.
What will you be doing:
Drive technical strategy and roadmap.
Proactively define the architectural vision, prioritize work that unlocks major product or platform improvements, and influence product and engineering decisions.
Lead end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional projects.
Own planning, design, execution, rollout and long-term operation of large initiatives.
Own architecture, reliability, performance and cost for critical systems.
Make pragmatic architecture choices that balance scalability, availability, latency and cost while ensuring systems remain maintainable and evolvable.
Define SLOs/SLIs and lead incident response.
Establish measurable reliability targets, run high-severity incident response, lead blameless post-mortems, and drive systemic fixes and automation to prevent recurrence.
Improve observability, automation and operational readiness.
Champion telemetry, alerting, runbooks, capacity planning and automation efforts that reduce toil, speed debugging and lower MTTR.
Align stakeholders and remove blockers.
Coordinate across Product, Design and other teams to align priorities, negotiate tradeoffs, and unblock delivery for large initiatives.
Mentor and grow engineering talent.
Coach senior and mid-level engineers, lead design reviews, raise engineering standards, and help teammates make sound technical tradeoffs.
Represent engineering internally and externally.
Communicate technical strategy clearly to non-engineering stakeholders and represent the team in cross-team planning.
We invest heavily in developer productivity. You can use modern AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow (your choice of tools, within security guidelines), backed by a company-funded usage budget so you can iterate quickly without unnecessary friction. We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always with strong code review and quality standards. You'll also have access to the latest frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
What makes you a great fit:
You are a motivated self starter with a bias towards action. You are customer focused. We build everything with our users in mind. You have a passion for creating intuitive products that fit customers’ needs
Proven delivery of large distributed systems.
Experience shipping and operating complex systems that span multiple teams, with clear evidence of technical leadership and impact.
Strong systems-design instincts.
Deep understanding of tradeoffs around latency, consistency, availability, scaling and cost.
Hands-on cloud and platform experience.
Solid experience with cloud-native architectures (microservices, containers/Kubernetes, IaC) and the operational practices that keep them healthy.
Reliability and performance ownership.
Comfortable defining SLOs/SLIs, doing capacity planning, tuning performance, and driving reliability work end-to-end.
Excellent coding and design skills.
You write clear, maintainable, well-tested code and can lead technical designs — we use Go, but Python/C/C++/Rust or similar translate well.
Comfort with AI-assisted development.
We embrace AI and agentic development so we expect you to be curious and comfortable using AI-powered developer tools and ideally have practical experience folding them into a team’s workflow.
Experience with messaging and telemetry.
Familiarity with streaming/messaging systems (e.g., Kafka) and observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalents).
Influence without authority.
Ability to align cross-functional stakeholders, set priorities and drive outcomes in a remote-first environment.
Strong communicator.
Clear written and verbal communication that works across engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
