About the Role
The Azul Sales Engineer is a hands-on, deeply technical pre-sales leader responsible for delivering the technical win across opportunities within their territory. Azul sells to the most demanding Java estates in the world — enterprises running mission-critical, high-throughput, latency-sensitive applications on the JVM — so this role demands genuine engineering depth, not just presentation polish.
A Sales Engineer earns credibility with engineers, architects, and executives alike by getting hands on: running technical evaluations in the customer’s own environment, tuning the JVM, interpreting GC and performance data, and translating measurable technical outcomes into clear business value. Beyond individual deals, the Sales Engineer uses their experience to mentor and uplevel the broader SE team.
What You'll Do (aka Responsibilities)
Own the technical win.
Drive pre-sales engagements end to end — discovery of the prospect’s business and technical challenges, mapping Azul portfolio capabilities to those challenges, and validating the solution through demonstration and hands-on proof.
Lead hands-on pilots.
Design, scope, and personally execute product pilots and proofs-of-concept inside the customer’s existing environment: installing and configuring the JVM, running representative workloads, and capturing empirical results the customer trusts.
Prove performance.
Plan and run performance-focused engagements: establish benchmarks and success criteria, measure latency, throughput, GC pause behavior and resource efficiency, analyze GC and JIT logs, tune JVM settings, and quantify the improvement Azul delivers against the incumbent.
Win at enterprise scale.
Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise engagements (large production estates, strict SLAs, security and compliance review, and long procurement cycles) coordinating technical validation across many teams and environments.
Present at every altitude.
Deliver presentations and demos across all technical levels, from CxOs to hands-on developers, to “make the complex simple” and communicate Azul’s value to each audience.
Respond to technical requirements.
Understand and respond to solicited and unsolicited proposals (RFI/RFP) by aligning Azul capabilities against detailed technical and business requirements.
Orchestrate the extended team.
Engage Product Management, Engineering, and the CTO office as needed to remove technical blockers and secure the win.
Partner on territory strategy.
Work alongside your Account Executive(s) on territory planning: pipeline generation, growing existing accounts, and enabling partners.
Grow and retain customers.
Nurture existing clients to promote customer success and to create new upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Evangelize.
Present at conferences, workshops, and roadshows to raise awareness of the Azul portfolio and build funnel.
Mentor the team.
Provide expert assistance to other SEs on pilot planning and execution, run training sessions, and serve as a primary mentor to onboarding SEs.
Be a trusted advisor.
Advise your manager on product, territory, and team matters.
Technical Competencies
These are the core technical strengths that define a successful Sales Engineer at Azul:
Java & the JVM.
Deep, hands-on knowledge of Java internals and the JVM: class loading, JIT compilation, memory model, and garbage collection. Able to read and reason about GC logs and runtime behavior, not just describe them.
Performance engineering.
Practical experience benchmarking, profiling, and tuning JVM-based applications for latency, throughput, and scale; comfortable diagnosing GC pauses, warm-up, jitter, and resource-efficiency issues in production-like conditions.
Hands-on aptitude.
Confident on the command line and in customer environments: installing, configuring, and troubleshooting runtimes; able to build and run a POC independently.
Enterprise application stacks.
Solid understanding of Java-based applications and frameworks that run on or alongside Azul products (e.g., Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, Spring).
Cloud & containers.
Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Portfolio SME.
Demonstrate SME-level depth and breadth across the entire Azul product suite, and continuously grow technical acumen through enablement, hands-on experimentation, and self-study.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
5+ years in a Sales Engineering / pre-sales role
supporting enterprise software, ideally in the Java, middleware, performance, or infrastructure space.
3+ years of hands-on Java development or testing experience
with a demonstrable command of Java architecture.
Proven track record of hands-on pilots and POCs
and of performance-related engagements where you measured and demonstrated technical results in a customer environment.
Experience selling into large enterprises
— complex, multi-stakeholder, mission-critical production environments.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related IT discipline; a master’s or higher in an IT or business discipline is a plus.
Working knowledge of cloud and container technologies
(e.g., AWS, Docker/Kubernetes).
Solid knowledge of sales process and CRM
(MEDDICC and Salesforce preferred).
Willing and able to travel up to 30%.
Fluent in your territory’s primary language,
with strong professional English.
Skills & Attributes
Strong oral and written communication, effective one-on-one and in front of large groups.
Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills; able to solve complex technical challenges with minimal supervision.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent time management.
Highly professional and ethical.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can multitask across client challenges, meetings, and team needs, occasionally outside normal business hours.
Collaborates across disciplines, with the EQ to understand multiple perspectives toward a common goal.
A proven winning record.

A strong ownership mentality, seeing matters through from start to finish.
Comfort making decisions in ambiguous environments, especially regarding novel technologies like AI.
A collaborative mindset, working well with stakeholders across different teams and disciplines.
A continuous drive to improve workflows, automating or standardizing routine tasks where possible.
Transparency, integrity, and the willingness to speak up when something doesn’t make sense.
What you’ll need
A formal degree in law (LLB, LLM, Mgr, or equivalent).

Over time, you will have established clear, scalable self-service resources that allow teams to handle routine legal questions independently, freeing you up to focus on high-impact, complex challenges. You’ll leave things cleaner and more efficient than you found them.

About the Opportunity
The FP&A Manager will support the end-to-end close lifecycle for our San Jose operations, driving accuracy and efficiency across journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and analysis. This role serves as a key pillar in the finance department, supporting critical month-end and year-end close activities while ensuring strict compliance with internal policies and tax regulations. As a proactive problem-solver, you will not only manage cross-functional queries and audit documentation but also identify strategic opportunities to automate workflows and streamline close processes within a fast-paced, complex organizational environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Finance, the Senior Manager FP&A will own the company's financial roadmap — from the annual operating plan and rolling forecasts to investor-grade scenario models and capital markets presentations. Critically, this person will also serves as the primary financial content author for investor-facing materials and investor engagement, working alongside the Global Head of Finance, CFO, and CEO to articulate the company's financial story to institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, private equity, and equity capital markets participants.
What We Look For In You
1. Financial Planning & Forecasting
Build and own the company's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) — a rigorous, bottom-up budget covering all six finance units and all business segments
Lead the quarterly rolling re-forecast cycle, incorporating latest trading volumes, crypto market conditions, macro environment, and business unit updates
Establish a monthly financial review cadence with all six Finance unit heads, producing variance analysis and forward-looking commentary
2. Investor Presentation & Capital Markets Support
Serve as the primary financial author for investor materials — Lead the construction of all investor-facing financial content — investor presentations, management roadshow decks, financial narrative sections of the S-1 / F-1 registration statement
Build and maintain an investor-grade financial model that can be shared with prospective institutional investors, covering historical financials, KPI drivers.
Develop the company's financial equity story — in partnership with the CFO and external advisors
Build and maintain relationships with sell-side analysts and institutional investors, supporting the CFO in soft-touch investor outreach during the 12-month pre-IPO period
Own the preparation of quarterly earnings materials post-IPO: earnings release, CFO script, analyst Q&A preparation, and management discussion sections
3. Business Finance Partnering
Deploy and manage embedded Finance Business Partners across the company's major business units, acting as the financial partner to each segment's leadership team on resource allocation, product economics, and performance management
Own OpEx budget management across all corporate functions — headcount planning, discretionary spend, capital expenditure prioritisation — acting as the financial gatekeeper for all material resource allocation decisions
Build and manage a two-gate strategic investment review process: all investments above a defined IRR threshold (≥25% IRR on Base scenario; positive IRR on Bear / Winter Mode scenario) require FP&A-endorsed investment cases before Board approval
Provide go/no-go financial analysis for all new market entries, new product launches, M&A opportunities, and strategic partnerships
4. Board & Executive Reporting
Produce the monthly and quarterly financial package for the Board of Directors and Management Team — concise, with clear variance commentary, updated forecasts, and strategic recommendations
Lead the FP&A input into the monthly Management Team Reporting cycle
Support the CEO and CFO in preparation for Board meetings, Audit Committee reviews, and any investor committee meetings requiring financial presentation
5. FP&A Infrastructure & Team Building
Build the FP&A team from the ground up — hiring, developing, and leading a team of finance professionals across corporate FP&A, business finance partnering, and investor analytics
Implement the FP&A technology stack: Anaplan (planning and forecasting), connected to NetSuite (actuals), data warehouse, and Looker (dashboards)
Design and implement the KPI framework that will serve as the operating dashboard for the company, the Board, and future public company investors — covering trading volume, revenue per user, take rate, EBITDA margin, and segment-level metrics
Establish the monthly operating cadence described in the five-step Monthly Operating Cycle framework, embedded across all business units
Nice to Have
8–12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior FP&A or strategic finance role. Strong performers at the 10-year mark are encouraged to apply
Capital markets exposure — the candidate should have participated in or supported at least one of: an IPO or pre-IPO process, or an investor-facing finance role at a publicly listed or late-stage company. Ability to author financial content for institutional investors is essentia
Investment banking or strategy consulting background — ideally 2–4 years at a bulge bracket or major regional investment bank, or a leading strategy consulting firm, with strong financial modelling and investor presentation skills. The ability to build and defend a valuation model under investor scrutiny is core to this role

FP&A or strategic finance experience — hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and Board-level financial reporting at a high-growth company
Strong executive communication skills — must be able to present financial analysis clearly and confidently to senior leadership and external audiences
Multi-currency, multi-entity financial modelling experience across at least two major regions
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CFA is a plus but not required
Pre-IPO experience — ideally has supported a company through the full IPO journey from financial model construction through to S-1 filing and post-listing earnings cadence

Support on business applications and systems procurement, contract negotiation and budget management
Support delivery of employee IT security training (e.g., anti-phishing awareness) in coordination with InfoSec
Provide input on device management strategy (e.g., MDM/MAID tooling) based on day-today operational experience
Assist with vendor coordination and support tickets for outsourced IT operations, as directed

efficiency
Exposure to access provisioning and security strategy for more sensitive systems (e.g., contributing to 2FA/MFA policy, not just administering standard access)
Exposure to business application procurement, contract negotiation, or vendor management
Exposure to ownership of shared infrastructure (e.g., cloud systems, data lake) across multiple teams
Exposure to ownership of customer-facing systems (e.g., Shopify, corporate websites)
Experience supporting a hybrid or multi-office environment

Vice President, Robot Learning
Confidential | Early-Stage Robotics Startup | San Francisco Bay Area, CA
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with an ambitious early-stage robotics company building the next generation of humanoid telepresence systems for industrial work.
The company's mission is to make dangerous, highly skilled physical work safer and more accessible by enabling expert operators to remotely control humanoid robots with real-time visual, auditory, and haptic feedback. These systems are deployed in complex environments including energy infrastructure, industrial facilities, manufacturing, and other hazardous settings.
A core part of the long-term vision is transforming teleoperation data into increasingly autonomous robotic capabilities. Rather than treating teleoperation as a temporary solution, the company views it as the foundation for building high-quality robot learning systems based on real-world interaction, force feedback, and task execution.
This is an opportunity to define the robot learning strategy at a company where machine learning is central to the product roadmap.
The Role
We're seeking a
Vice President of Robot Learning
to lead the company's robot learning organization and own the roadmap from teleoperation data collection through to learned policies and increasing levels of autonomy.
This is a highly technical leadership role for someone who enjoys building from first principles, working closely with hardware and software teams, and translating cutting-edge robotics research into production systems.
You'll have the opportunity to shape both the technical direction and the team as the company scales.
What You'll Do
Own the robot learning strategy and technical roadmap.
Build the data pipeline that transforms teleoperation sessions into high-quality training data.
Develop learning systems for contact-rich robotic manipulation using real-world demonstrations.
Design and deploy imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and policy optimization approaches for physical robots.
Work closely with robotics, controls, perception, and hardware engineers to build an integrated robotic system.
Lead the evolution from teleoperated workflows toward progressively autonomous capabilities.
Build, mentor, and grow a world-class robot learning organization.
Establish technical direction, research priorities, and engineering best practices.
Drive experimentation, deployment, and continuous improvement using real-world operational data.
What We're Looking For
Required
PhD or equivalent expertise in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
Significant experience building robot learning systems for real-world robotic manipulation.
Deep expertise in imitation learning, reinforcement learning, policy learning, or related techniques.
Experience working with physical robots rather than purely simulated environments.
Strong understanding of contact-rich manipulation, force feedback, and real-world robotic control.
Track record of shipping robotics systems from research into production.
Experience leading highly technical teams or serving as the technical leader for a major robotics initiative.
Preferred
Experience from leading robotics organizations or research groups such as:
OpenAI Robotics
Google DeepMind Robotics
Physical Intelligence
Toyota Research Institute
Figure AI
Agility Robotics
Covariant
Skild AI
Sanctuary AI
Dexterity

Other leading manipulation or humanoid robotics companies
Particularly valuable experience includes:
Learning from teleoperation or human demonstrations
Building commercial robot learning data pipelines
Manipulation in contact-rich environments
Haptic interfaces or force-controlled robotics
Multi-modal learning using vision, force, and proprioception
Scaling robot learning infrastructure across fleets
Who You Are
Builder-first with a passion for deploying robotics in the real world.
Comfortable operating in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.
Excited by ambiguous technical problems with significant ownership.
Able to balance long-term research vision with near-term product execution.
Motivated by building a team, not just contributing individually.
Collaborative, hands-on, and deeply technical.
Why Join
Define the robot learning strategy from an early stage.
Build systems that operate in challenging, real-world industrial environments.
Work across hardware, controls, perception, and AI to solve end-to-end robotics problems.
Help shape the future of intelligent humanoid robotics.
Significant technical ownership with the opportunity to build and lead a high-impact organization.

At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure.
Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users.
Our platform is trusted by over 7 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $260M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development.
We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you.
APPLYING TO RENDER
We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.
We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed.
Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Render’s mission is simple: eliminate the tedious work of building software by providing a cloud platform that just works.
We’re evolving from the go-to platform for solo developers into the backbone for fast-scaling teams. As our users’ apps grow from a single service into complex, multi-service architectures, our biggest challenge is keeping it all feeling simple. We need a Product Designer to take that "pile of parts" and turn it into a cohesive system that actually makes sense.
As a Staff IC, you'll also help raise the bar across the organization through mentorship, design leadership, and thoughtful cross-functional influence.
This is a craft-focused IC role, and it's web UI at its most demanding. You'll own the surfaces developers depend on when the clock is ticking and things are breaking. Designing for infrastructure is unique: your screens see the most traffic when the user is most stressed, and "failure" is a first-class state, not an edge case. We’re looking for someone who finds that responsibility energizing.
You’ll join a design team that takes its craft seriously, with weekly critiques and deep cross-functional collaboration. You’ll thrive here if you love untangling complex, messy problems and turning them into accessible, beautiful experiences.
YOU WILL:
- Make a multi-service system legible at a glance. Design the views that let a developer see how their services connect and depend on each other, instead of stitching the picture together one service at a time. This comprehension gap is where design can make a complicated system feel cohesive and friendly.
- Design system-level observability. Aggregated logs, metrics, deploys, and events across a whole project, filterable by environment and resource — so a developer can answer "what's going on with my system" in one place. This is high-density information design where hierarchy, scanning speed, and progressive disclosure are the whole game.
- Design deployment as a coordinated act. When an application has many services, coordination gets hard. You'll design cross-service deployment and rollback, and a preview model so shipping feels safe at any scale.
- Design and consider all product states. You'll own the "unglamorous" moments. Like build errors, failed deploys, and empty states, and turn them into helpful experiences. Since developer tools earn their reputation by how they handle problems, your focus is on guiding the user to success even when things go wrong.
- Own a first-run experience worth recommending. The path from signup to first successful deploy is where trust starts. You'll design it so that a developer's first ten minutes make them want to tell someone.
- Contribute to where the platform goes next. Alongside the shipping work, you'll bring concept explorations and a strong point of view to a design-led discovery track, shaping the platform's future through a weekly critique cadence with the rest of the team.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- 7+ years of relevant experience. Whether you’ve worked on developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or another complex, high-stakes product, we care more about your impact than your title.
- Exceptional taste and craft. You have an eye for detail that borders on obsessive — typography, spacing, motion, density, interaction feedback. You notice when something is 2px off and it bothers you, and you've shipped work other practitioners admire.
- Strong information architecture. You can take a tangle of objects and relationships and make it feel like one obvious thing.
- You design the whole journey, not a screen at a time. Your portfolio shows a user carried coherently across every surface a feature touches — entry point to empty state to failure to recovery — not a set of polished screens that don't add up to a system.
- Fluent in developer language. You know your way around services, CI/CD, and deployments. You don’t need to have built a cloud platform before, but you’re curious enough to get deep into the weeds of how it works.
- Respect for failure states. You believe an error message is an interface, and you design for the user having a bad day, not just the happy path.
- Systems fluency. You're comfortable working in and contributing to a design system as the product's surface area grows, extending it rather than fighting it.
- Strong product judgment under fast launch velocity. You frame problems well, prioritize ruthlessly, and know which details matter and which can wait.
- Clear, direct communication and a genuinely collaborative way of working with product and engineering partners — including sharing a problem space with another designer without needing hard fences between you.
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience designing complex dashboards, monitoring tools, or console interfaces where data density and high-stakes clarity matter.
- You've been on-call, run side projects, or debugged systems in production. You don’t just design for developers; you understand their mental models and the specific frustrations they face.
- You’re as excited to design a CLI tool or shape an SDK as you are to build a web dashboard. You’re ready to explore new frontiers like agentic workflows and AI-assisted design, not just standard web UI.
- Design-engineering literacy: comfort near code, motion, or prototyping.
- Writing, talks, or side projects that demonstrate your craft and point of view.
If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need.

Job Description
We're hiring our first Head of Partnerships to own and grow the relationships that matter most to Metabase: the AI platforms and data warehouse vendors our customers build on every day. You'll work both ends of these relationships — building alignment with partner leadership teams, and building trust with individual sellers and solutions engineers who influence deals in the field. This is a senior, high-ownership role for someone who's built a partnerships function from the ground up before and wants to do it again, at a company loved by hundreds of thousands in the community.
What you’ll do:
Own and deepen Metabase's relationships with our key technical and go-to-market partners, with a near-term focus on major AI vendors and data warehouse providers
Build multi-threaded relationships at both the seller/field level and the partner leadership level, so Metabase stays top-of-mind at every layer of the partnership
Design and run co-selling and co-marketing motions that turn partner relationships into pipeline, not just goodwill
Represent Metabase in strategic conversations with partners ; negotiating priorities, resolving friction, and identifying where deeper technical or commercial integration creates mutual value
Build the systems, cadences, and reporting that turn partnerships from a set of relationships into a repeatable, measurable function
Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities as Metabase's ecosystem grows
Act as the internal voice of our partners ; surfacing their roadmaps, priorities, and constraints to Sales, Marketing, and Product
What we’re looking for:
8+ years in partnerships, business development, or a related go-to-market role, with real ownership of partner relationships end-to-end
Experience building a partnerships function at a small, scaling startup — you've operated with limited playbooks and built the process as you went, not just executed an existing one
Comfortable operating at multiple altitudes: equally credible in a room with an AE or SE as in a room with a VP or Head of Partnerships
A track record of turning partner relationships into measurable pipeline and revenue, not just logos on a slide
Excellent written and verbal communicator who can represent Metabase credibly to technical and commercial audiences alike
Bonus: existing relationships within the AI or data warehouse ecosystems
Bonus: experience in open-source, developer tools, or data infrastructure companies
Qualities we’re looking/testing for
Ownership
Comfortable with experiments
Ability to create from scratch
Comfort at different altitudes (IC to VP)
