System Stability & Problem Solving:
Safeguard the stability of core payment flows; diagnose and resolve complex production issues including performance bottlenecks, data-consistency problems, fund-security risks, and abnormal transaction scenarios.
Technical Optimization & Engineering Quality:
Continuously improve system architecture, code quality, monitoring and alerting, exception compensation, and observability to raise the security, reliability, and maintainability of the payment system.

Java Backend Experience:
Solid Java development skills, fluent in Spring Boot and mainstream Java backend frameworks, with experience building high-concurrency, high-availability systems.
Payments Domain Experience:
Hands-on experience with payment systems and their core flows — payment orders, payment state machines, callback notifications, reconciliation, refunds, clearing/settlement, and exception compensation.
Scan-to-Pay Experience:
Background in scan-to-pay, acquiring, aggregated payments, merchant payments, wallet payments, or similar products, with familiarity across the full business and technical chain.

Familiarity with the fundamentals of crypto and stablecoin payments and on-chain asset movement, including on-chain transfers, transaction confirmation, address systems, Gas, and crediting confirmation.

Able to independently troubleshoot complex production issues, with strong log analysis, tracing, performance-optimization, and recovery skills.

Strong ownership; able to drive problems to resolution and ship projects in a fast-changing environment.
Nice-to-Haves

Project experience with USDT, USDC, or other stablecoin payments, collection, settlement, crediting, or on-chain confirmation.
Scan-to-Pay / Acquiring Experience:
QR payments, merchant acquiring, aggregated payments, payment gateways, cross-border payments, or offline payment scenarios.
Account & Ledger Systems:
Experience with payment accounts, fund accounts, merchant accounts, ledger systems, clearing/settlement systems, or reconciliation systems.
Blockchain Fundamentals:
Familiarity with the transaction mechanisms, address models, and asset-transfer flows of EVM, Tron, Solana, or other mainstream chains.

HEY THERE
At Yazio, our product squads are the engines that drive our mission: helping people lead healthier lives. We're looking for a product-minded Senior Mobile Engineer to join one of our core squads and build the features that empower millions of users on their wellness journey.
As a key member of a cross-functional team, you'll partner closely with your Product Manager, Engineering Manager and Designer. You will be a vital voice in shaping our product, leveraging our Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) stack to deliver elegant, high-impact solutions for both iOS and Android users.
This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the U.K.
YOUR MISSION
Your mission is to translate user needs and product vision into robust, high-quality code that powers a world-class user experience. You will own the technical execution within the squad, living best practices and helping the entire team.
- Own Features End-to-End. You will take ideas from a technical design to a polished, deployed feature. You'll be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, ensuring high test coverage and monitoring the impact of your work in production.
- Partner with Product and Design. You won't just be handed tickets. You'll be a key contributor to the "why," providing technical insights, weighing trade-offs and helping to shape a roadmap that is both ambitious and achievable.
- Champion Technical Excellence. You will be a steward of our codebase, helping to manage technical debt, improve performance and drive the adoption of modern practices within our Kotlin Multiplatform architecture.
- Elevate the Team Around You. You'll act as a mentor for other engineers, leading by example with thoughtful code reviews, improving team processes and sharing your knowledge to help everyone grow.
YOUR PROFILE
We're looking for a seasoned engineer who is passionate about the craft but even more passionate about the impact their code has on users.
- Deep Expertise in Modern Mobile Development. You have significant experience building native mobile apps on Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose). Experience with iOS development (Swift, SwiftUI) is a plus, along with a willingness to expand ownership across both ecosystems. KMP experience is a big plus.
- A True Product Engineer. You are obsessed with the user experience and the "why" behind what you're building. You're comfortable with product metrics and are driven to see your work make a measurable impact.
- Pragmatic and Results-Oriented. You have high standards for code quality but also know when to make pragmatic trade-offs to ship value to users. You see technical debt as a portfolio to be managed, not a moral failing.
- A Collaborative Force Multiplier. You thrive in a team environment. You give and receive feedback graciously and believe that mentoring others and improving shared tools are essential parts of your role.
- Excellent Communicator. You can clearly articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical partners, ensuring everyone is aligned.
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a massive plus, but a strong foundation in native development and a passion for learning are most important.
OUR CORE TECH STACK
We believe in Kotlin Multiplatform and use it heavily in our modularized monorepo. We share as much code as possible outside of the UI layer, while building the fully native UI using Compose on Android and SwiftUI on iOS.
- We use libraries like:
- kotlinx.coroutines
- kotlinx.serialization
- Ktor
- SQLDelight
- Metro for dependency injection.
WHY US?
- An exciting product with millions of users in over 150 countries, driven by our mission to transform the world through healthy eating
- A remote-first setup: work 100% from home, join a co-working space, or work abroad for several weeks per year
- 30 vacation days to relax and recharge, plus 5 child sick days if your little one needs you
- A focus-driven culture that values efficiency over long hours - no overtime expectations, and if it happens, you get that time back!
- A high-impact environment where your work drives real change - short decision-making processes and no micromanagement
- A team culture where ambition and balance go hand in hand, supported by strong connections - from our fully covered company retreat to team meetups and virtual coffee breaks
- Tools and support to do your best work: MacBook, monitor, and €1,000 annual learning budget, plus regular feedback and career development
- A truly international team with English as our company language and a shared commitment to growth and well-being - supported by Sunday Supplements and Nilo Health
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
At Yazio, we believe that diversity fuels innovation. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender identity, race, religion, age, sexual orientation, or ability, feels valued and empowered. We celebrate different perspectives and actively encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.

The role
We’re
hiring a senior, hands-on Product Manager to join WooCommerce Payments and take ownership of a defined area within our payments products and partner integrations.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Product, and work day-to-day with engineering, design, support, and partnerships. This role is deeply executional. You’ll spend much of your time in the work: in Linear writing and refining issues, triaging bugs and incidents, reviewing and shaping flows in Figma, creating lightweight prototypes, and writing briefs or PRDs when they’re needed.
Payments at WooCommerce run at a serious scale—billions in total payment volume—and the quality of this experience directly affects merchant revenue, shopper conversion, and the success of Woo’s commercial engine. This role sits right where reliability, trust, and execution matter most.
What you’ll work on
Own product direction and execution for a key part of the payments product area, with clear goals, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
Improve merchant and shopper experiences across onboarding, checkout, refunds and disputes, payouts, reporting, and overall reliability.
Raise the quality bar by reducing failures and friction, lowering support volume, and improving product ratings and merchant trust.
Use data, support signals, and merchant feedback to decide what to work on next, define success measures, and make tradeoffs explicit.
Work closely with priority payments partners (including Stripe and PayPal) to improve integrations, ship changes, manage dependencies, and resolve issues.
Keep stakeholders aligned through clear, direct writing and communication about progress, risks, and decisions.
What we’re looking for
7+ years in product roles, with senior IC experience owning complex problem spaces and influencing cross-functional teams through clarity of communication and precision of execution.
4+ years in payments or fintech, ideally on products operating at scale; experience with large or global launches is a plus.
Strong product judgment. You can make good calls in messy situations and don’t need perfect information to move forward.
Comfort working on critical, high-trust systems where reliability matters and small changes can have outsized impact.
Ability to work deeply with engineers and designers on complex problems, including technical constraints and tradeoffs.
Strong analytical habits and a practical approach to metrics, dashboards, and instrumentation.
Clear written and verbal communication in a distributed, async environment.
Familiarity with WooCommerce,
WordPress
, or open-source ecosystems is a plus.
Salary range: $170,000-$240,000 USD.
Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
We are searching for high-caliber candidates with the skills and qualities to have a net positive for Automattic. Pay will reflect the potential contribution and the impact you can bring, which may, in some cases, go beyond the range stated.
We’re pleased to offer a straightforward, competitive base salary, providing financial clarity without complex variable components. This isn’t your typical work-from-home job: we are a fully-remote company with an open vacation policy. To see a full list of benefits by country, consult our
