Senior Mobile Engineer (KMP)

Location: Berlin; Frankfurt am Main; Barcelona; Munich; Lisbon; Madrid; Hamburg; Porto Workplace: Remote HEY THERE At Yazio, our product squads are the engines that drive our mission: helping people lead healthier lives. We're looking for a product-minded Senior Mobile Engineer to join one of our core squads and build the features that empower millions of users on their wellness journey. As a key member of a cross-functional team, you'll partner closely with your Product Manager, Engineering Manager and Designer. You will be a vital voice in shaping our product, leveraging our Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) stack to deliver elegant, high-impact solutions for both iOS and Android users. This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the U.K. YOUR MISSION Your mission is to translate user needs and product vision into robust, high-quality code that powers a world-class user experience. You will own the technical execution within the squad, living best practices and helping the entire team. - Own Features End-to-End. You will take ideas from a technical design to a polished, deployed feature. You'll be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, ensuring high test coverage and monitoring the impact of your work in production. - Partner with Product and Design. You won't just be handed tickets. You'll be a key contributor to the "why," providing technical insights, weighing trade-offs and helping to shape a roadmap that is both ambitious and achievable. - Champion Technical Excellence. You will be a steward of our codebase, helping to manage technical debt, improve performance and drive the adoption of modern practices within our Kotlin Multiplatform architecture. - Elevate the Team Around You. You'll act as a mentor for other engineers, leading by example with thoughtful code reviews, improving team processes and sharing your knowledge to help everyone grow. YOUR PROFILE We're looking for a seasoned engineer who is passionate about the craft but even more passionate about the impact their code has on users. - Deep Expertise in Modern Mobile Development. You have significant experience building native mobile apps on Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose). Experience with iOS development (Swift, SwiftUI) is a plus, along with a willingness to expand ownership across both ecosystems. KMP experience is a big plus. - A True Product Engineer. You are obsessed with the user experience and the "why" behind what you're building. You're comfortable with product metrics and are driven to see your work make a measurable impact. - Pragmatic and Results-Oriented. You have high standards for code quality but also know when to make pragmatic trade-offs to ship value to users. You see technical debt as a portfolio to be managed, not a moral failing. - A Collaborative Force Multiplier. You thrive in a team environment. You give and receive feedback graciously and believe that mentoring others and improving shared tools are essential parts of your role. - Excellent Communicator. You can clearly articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical partners, ensuring everyone is aligned. - Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a massive plus, but a strong foundation in native development and a passion for learning are most important. OUR CORE TECH STACK We believe in Kotlin Multiplatform and use it heavily in our modularized monorepo. We share as much code as possible outside of the UI layer, while building the fully native UI using Compose on Android and SwiftUI on iOS. - We use libraries like: - kotlinx.coroutines - kotlinx.serialization - Ktor - SQLDelight - Metro for dependency injection. WHY US? - An exciting product with millions of users in over 150 countries, driven by our mission to transform the world through healthy eating - A remote-first setup: work 100% from home, join a co-working space, or work abroad for several weeks per year - 30 vacation days to relax and recharge, plus 5 child sick days if your little one needs you - A focus-driven culture that values efficiency over long hours - no overtime expectations, and if it happens, you get that time back! - A high-impact environment where your work drives real change - short decision-making processes and no micromanagement - A team culture where ambition and balance go hand in hand, supported by strong connections - from our fully covered company retreat to team meetups and virtual coffee breaks - Tools and support to do your best work: MacBook, monitor, and €1,000 annual learning budget, plus regular feedback and career development - A truly international team with English as our company language and a shared commitment to growth and well-being - supported by Sunday Supplements and Nilo Health DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION At Yazio, we believe that diversity fuels innovation.
