With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. ABOUT THE ROLE You'll be one of the founding data scientist on Replit's Growth team, working with Product and Engineering leadership across acquisition, activation and recommender systems, and helping shape how Replit experiments. This role is for someone who doesn't wait to be asked. You spot problems and opportunities before anyone else does, bring a strong point of view, and push it until it changes what we build. YOU WILL: - Own data science for major growth areas, partnering with PMs and engineers from problem framing and sizing through launch and readout - Make fast decisions trustworthy: we ship weekly and need a decision within days, but retention takes weeks to show up. You'll design the experiments and metrics that close that gap; for example, variance reduction (CUPED), sequential testing, and short-term proxy metrics validated against long-term retention and revenue - Help set the experimentation standards teams rely on for Replit's highest-traffic surfaces: how metrics and guardrails are defined, and the checks that catch a broken test before it misleads anyone - Use quasi-experimental designs (difference-in-differences, synthetic control, regression discontinuity) where randomization isn't feasible, such as pricing changes and regional launches - Help define the data science behind an emerging personalization and recommendations workstream: problem framing, offline and online evaluation, and measuring incremental lift - Model the economics of a freemium, usage-based product: credit consumption, conversion, and how pricing and limits change behavior - Develop user and project segmentation from behavioral and content signals (e.g., embeddings and clustering) so growth analysis reflects what people are actually building - Partner with Data Engineering on a shared metrics layer and experimentation tooling REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - 6+ years in data science, with significant time on growth or experimentation for high-scale prosumer, PLG, or self-serve products - Data science experience at a fast-growing startup, where you built metrics, datasets, and experimentation practices without much existing infrastructure - Deep expertise in experimental design and statistical inference, including reaching reliable decisions when readout windows are short and the outcomes that matter are slow - Experience establishing experimentation standards or platforms adopted by multiple teams - Expert SQL and Python - A track record of analysis that changed what a team shipped, and of influencing senior Product and Engineering leaders - Heavy, practical use of AI tools to move faster in your own work PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Comfortable building your own datasets in dbt; - Pricing, packaging, or monetization analysis for usage- or credit-based products - International or mobile growth experience - MS or PhD in statistics, economics, computer science, or another quantitative field BONUS POINTS - Experience with multi-armed bandits or adaptive experimentation - Familiarity with developer tools, AI products, or creator platforms This is a full-time role based in our Foster City, CA office with an in-office requirement of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Location: Foster City, CA Workplace: Hybrid Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Security Engineer with deep incident response experience to help defend Replit, a fast-moving, cloud-native AI vibe-coding platform. You'll be the person who takes charge when something goes wrong. You'll lead investigations from first signal to root cause, coordinate containment across Security, SRE, and Engineering, and keep stakeholders informed while the incident is moving fast. This isn't a pure responder role. We want a well-rounded security engineer who has run real incidents and wants to make the next one faster. You'll write the scripts, automations, and tooling that take manual work out of triage, evidence collection, and containment. You'll also turn lessons from each incident into better detections, playbooks, and platform hardening. RESPONSIBILITIES Incident Response - Serve as incident commander or technical lead for security incidents, from detection and triage through containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review. - Coordinate response across Security, SRE, Engineering, Legal, and leadership. Drive decisions under pressure and keep a clear record of actions taken. - Communicate incident status, impact, and risk clearly to technical and executive audiences. - Participate in and help shape the security on-call rotation. Investigation & Forensics - Investigate suspicious activity across cloud infrastructure, containers, identity systems, and application layers using SIEM, Cloud Logging, telemetry, and host and container artifacts. - Determine scope, root cause, attacker behavior, and blast radius for confirmed incidents. - Quickly assess whether emerging threats (0-days, active exploitation campaigns, bug bounty findings, customer reports) apply to Replit, and whether we're already affected. IR Automation & Tooling - Build scripts, automations, and tools (Python, Go, Bash, or directly on Replit) that speed up response, such as automated enrichment, evidence collection, credential and session revocation, workload isolation, and alert triage. - Develop and maintain response playbooks and runbooks, and automate them where possible. - Integrate response workflows with SIEM, SOAR, ticketing, and chat tooling to cut time-to-contain. Detection & Continuous Improvement - Turn incident findings into new or improved detections, logging coverage, and visibility. - Lead blameless post-incident reviews and drive remediation items to completion. - Run tabletop exercises and simulations to test readiness and find gaps. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - Proven experience leading or serving as technical lead on security incidents in a cloud or SaaS environment. - Strong hands-on investigation skills with SIEM, cloud audit logs, and log-based analysis. Comfortable working through large datasets under time pressure. - Proficiency writing production-quality scripts or tools in Python, Go, or Bash for investigation and automation. - Solid knowledge of cloud architecture and security, especially Google Cloud Platform (IAM, audit logging, GKE, networking). - Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containers, including how to investigate and contain compromised workloads. - Understanding of identity systems, SaaS architectures, and common cloud attack paths (credential theft, privilege escalation, supply chain, token abuse). - Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals, CI/CD pipelines, and package ecosystems, so you can work effectively with Engineering on code-level fixes. - Understanding of IR frameworks and lifecycle (for example NIST 800-61), plus the vulnerability lifecycle and exploitability analysis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience building or operating SOAR or other response automation platforms. - Digital forensics experience with cloud, Linux hosts, or containers. - Experience with threat intelligence, threat hunting, or security research. - Experience with bug bounty programs or coordinated vulnerability disclosure. - Familiarity with detection-as-code practices and writing detection rules. - Experience in fast-paced, cloud-native, or AI/ML-driven environments. - Relevant certifications (such as GCIH, GCFA, GCFR), or equivalent hands-on experience. WHAT WE VALUE - Curiosity & initiative: Strong desire to understand attacker behaviors, emerging threats, and how they apply to real-world systems. - Speed & analytical rigor: Ability to quickly assess high-risk vulnerabilities with clear, evidence-based reasoning. - Collaboration: Comfort working across cross-functional teams spanning Security, SRE, Engineering, and Infrastructure. - Clear communication: Ability to explain findings, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders at all levels. - Ownership mindset: Takes initiative to drive investigations, improvements, and remediations to completion. - Continuous learning: Passion for staying up to date on new vulnerabilities, exploit trends, and cloud-native security best practices. Location: Foster City, CA Workplace: Hybrid Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. ABOUT THIS JOB We're looking for a Head of Marketing Strategy & Operations to run the business side of marketing. Our marketing team went from two people to 25 this year, organized around four functions: product marketing, brand and consumer, enterprise, and growth. This is the first operations hire on that team. You'll own the marketing budget with Finance, run our planning cycle and operating cadence, keep hiring aligned with the plan, and partner directly with the CMO on how marketing sets priorities and tells its story to the executive team and the board. It's a role for someone who has sat close to a CMO and a CFO, likes turning ambiguity into a plan people can execute, and is comfortable building the function themselves before building a team. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Budget & Financial Operations - Own the marketing budget end to end with Finance: allocation across teams and channels, tracking against plan, forecasting, variance flags, and the tradeoff conversations that follow - Build the layer of visibility leadership needs (spend by team, channel, and program) on top of the spend-tracking tools we already have, so decisions get made with numbers - Run quarterly, half-year, and annual budget planning, and make marketing's case to Finance and the executive team - Own marketing's vendor and agency contracts end to end: evaluations, procurement, renewals, and a clear view of what we pay for and why Planning & Operating Cadence - Own marketing's planning cycle: translate company goals into marketing objectives, OKRs, and resourced plans, and keep them current as priorities shift - Bring a point of view. Pressure-test plans, frame the tradeoffs, and help the CMO decide where marketing places its bets - Design the lightweight processes and internal tools (planning, intake, reporting) that let a 25-person team operate like a much bigger one - Run the operating rhythm for the marketing leadership team: meetings, all-hands, team-wide readouts, agendas, decisions, and follow-through - Keep the marketing functions connected so plans, launches, and budgets move together Executive Partnership - Partner directly with the CMO on board materials, executive readouts, and strategy documents. Own first drafts and make them data-backed and on-message - Extend the CMO's reach across the team: surface risks early, chase decisions to closure, and keep priorities clear week to week - Represent marketing in cross-functional planning with Finance, Sales, and Product Hiring & Org Operations - Partner with Talent Acquisition and marketing leads on headcount planning, requisition tracking, and interview process, and keep hiring plans aligned with budget and org design - Standardize the basics across sub-teams (job descriptions, interview loops, scorecards) and help new leaders land well WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: - 10+ years in marketing strategy and operations, business operations, strategic finance, management consulting, or a similar role supporting a CMO, GM, or business unit leader - You've owned a sizable marketing or departmental budget end to end and can talk about spend, forecast, and variance the way Finance does - You've built or run a planning cycle (annual or half-year, OKRs) and an operating cadence for a leadership team - You've drafted board or executive materials for a senior leader and know the difference between a readout and a narrative - Experience with headcount planning and hiring operations alongside a Talent team - You've run vendor evaluations and procurement alongside Finance and kept a clean view of contracts and renewals - Comfortable as an individual contributor. This is the first ops hire; you'll do the work before you have a team - You scope light and move fast. Location: Foster City, CA Workplace: Hybrid Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. ABOUT THE ROLE Replit enables people to build software with AI. The systems underneath that experience must support safe production changes, measurable reliability, and predictable performance as usage grows. This Engineering Manager will lead SRE across observability, incident management, load testing, performance engineering, cloud cost and capacity, and rollout infrastructure. You'll lead and grow an existing team that builds and operates production platforms and works hands-on across application and infrastructure boundaries. This is a software-building leadership role, not simply an incident-management function. You'll help teams ship safely, understand production behavior, and remove performance bottlenecks through concrete engineering improvements. You should be comfortable going deep on a rollout failure or performance investigation while developing technical leaders and sustainable ownership across a distributed team. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Observability. Build and operate metrics, logs, traces, and alerting capabilities. Help teams establish meaningful SLOs and use production telemetry to diagnose problems and verify improvements. - Incident Management. Own incident tooling and practices, coordinate cross-team response, and turn incident reviews into engineering improvements that reduce recovery time and repeat failures. - Load Testing. Build and maintain load/failure testing capabilities. Validate critical paths under expected demand, quantify headroom, and test recovery and production readiness with service owners. - Performance Engineering. Lead deep engagements with internal teams on SLOs and end-to-end performance. Use profiling, telemetry, and load tests to identify bottlenecks and deliver improvements with service owners—not just recommendations. - Stay technically engaged. Review designs and production changes, debug difficult failure modes, and use AI coding tools—including Replit—to prototype and automate. Apply rigorous review and verification to AI-generated changes. - Build and grow a high-ownership engineering team. Coach engineers, develop technical leaders, manage performance, and hire against agreed needs. Make distributed collaboration, mentoring, and backup coverage deliberate rather than relying on a few permanent escalation points. - Measure outcomes and close the loop. Track rollout safety, recovery time, repeat incidents, critical-path latency/throughput, test coverage, and improvements arising from cost/capacity analysis. Agree success measures and continuing ownership with partner teams. WHAT YOU'LL BRING - Demonstrated engineering management. You have led and developed engineers, made prioritization and performance decisions, hired thoughtfully, and delivered through a team—not only acted as its strongest individual contributor. - Software-oriented production systems depth. You have built and operated distributed systems or reliability platforms and can reason across deployment behavior, Kubernetes, telemetry, service dependencies, and recovery mechanisms. - Safe-change and performance judgment. You have led consequential migrations or incidents and used measurement to diagnose reliability or performance problems. You can distinguish symptoms from causes and validate fixes under realistic conditions. - Platform-product and cross-team judgment. You can build capabilities other teams adopt, lead hands-on engagements without absorbing every service's operations, and make clear tradeoffs among reliability, performance, engineering effort, and cost. NICE TO HAVE - Experience with GitOps or progressive-delivery platforms such as Harness, ArgoCD, or Kargo. - Experience with observability, profiling, load-testing, and failure-testing systems, including OpenTelemetry or comparable tooling. - Experience with cloud cost attribution, capacity planning, and provider coordination, particularly on GCP. - Experience growing distributed teams and using AI tools to increase engineering output while preserving production safeguards. Full-Time Employee Benefits Include: 💰 Competitive Salary & Equity 💹 401(k) Program with a 4% match (US Only) ⚕️ Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance 🩼 Short Term and Long Term Disability 🚼 Paid Parental, Medical, Caregiver Leave 🏝 Flexible Time Off (FTO) + Holidays 🚗 Commuter Benefits (In-Office & US Only) 📱 Monthly Wellness Stipend 🧑💻 Autonomous Work Environment 🖥 In Office Set-Up Reimbursement (In-Office Only) 🚀 Quarterly Team Gatherings ☕ In Office Amenities (In-Office Only) Want to learn more about what we are up to? - Self-driving Company https://replit.com/blog/self-driving-company - Replit Agent at Scale https://replit.com/blog/evaluating-and-improving-agent-at-scale - AI Adoption https://replit.com/blog/ai-adoption - Build Open-Source Apps https://replit.com/build/open-source-app-builder Interviewing + Culture at Replit - Operating Principles https://blog.replit.com/operating-principles - Reasons not to work at Replit https://blog.replit.com/reasons-not-to-join-replit To achieve our mission of making programming more accessible around the world, we need our team to be representative of the world. 250 000 – 325 000 $
Location: Foster City, CA Workplace: Hybrid Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. ABOUT THE ROLE: Help turn “I built a business” into “I have customers.” As a Staff Software Engineer on Replit’s Money team, you’ll help shape Agentic Ads: an emerging area focused on using AI to make customer acquisition more accessible to businesses built on Replit. This role focuses on intelligent, advertiser-facing software—not ad-serving infrastructure, an ad exchange, or a real-time bidding engine. You’ll tackle problems at the intersection of AI, business growth, measurement, and trustworthy automation, turning complex decisions into clear, useful experiences. You’ll help define a new product area, working closely with product, design, and engineering to discover customer needs and deliver practical solutions. This is a hands-on Staff role: you’ll own architecture, lead delivery across teams, mentor engineers, and turn an ambitious vision into incremental customer value. YOU WILL: - Set technical direction for Agentic Ads, translating customer needs into an architecture and roadmap that balance rapid learning with long-term reliability. - Build agent-powered experiences that help businesses make informed growth decisions, translating user goals into understandable recommendations and appropriately authorized actions. - Design extensible integrations with external services, using well-defined APIs and abstractions that accommodate changing provider capabilities and requirements. - Partner with product and data teams to establish reliable measurement, connect product activity to business outcomes, and address data quality, delayed feedback, and uncertainty. - Develop intelligent automation that learns from performance signals and helps users improve outcomes within their goals and constraints. - Make financial control a product requirement: scoped authorization, explicit approvals, budget limits, auditable decisions, clear reporting, and reliable pause controls. Distinguish recommendations from actions that commit customer spend. - Make cross-platform workflows reliable with durable state, idempotency, safe retries, reconciliation, observability, and recovery from partial failures, expired credentials, rate limits, and provider API changes. - Establish agent evaluations and production monitoring for plan quality, tool selection, policy compliance, spend safety, and verified execution. Partner on experiments that distinguish attributed results from incremental customer value. - Lead ambiguous initiatives across product, design, AI, data, security, and partnerships. Stay hands-on with implementation, define incremental milestones, mentor engineers, and own the quality and operation of what the team ships. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - A track record of Staff-level technical leadership on complex customer-facing products or platforms: setting direction, resolving ambiguity, and delivering through launch and production operation across multiple teams. - Strong hands-on software engineering and system design skills across APIs, data modeling, distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and customer-facing product experiences. - Experience building and operating third-party integrations that remain correct under duplicate requests, partial failures, rate limits, changing schemas, and inconsistent external state. - Practical experience shipping LLM-powered products or agentic workflows, including tool use, orchestration, evaluations, and safeguards for actions taken against external systems. - Strong data and measurement judgment: experience using instrumentation and experiments to evaluate product outcomes, and the ability to reason about noisy data, delayed feedback, uncertainty, and correlation versus causation. - Sound judgment around systems that act on a user’s behalf, including authentication, authorization, sensitive data, approval boundaries, and limits on consequential actions. - Demonstrated ability to align cross-functional teams, explain technical trade-offs, mentor engineers, and drive execution without relying on reporting authority. - A product-minded approach to simplifying complex workflows for non-experts, with hands-on ownership from prototype through reliable production operation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience building advertiser-facing products, marketing automation, campaign-management tools, growth platforms, or software that helps businesses acquire customers. - Experience integrating advertising or marketing APIs; familiarity with account onboarding, campaign lifecycles, and platform requirements. - Working knowledge of conversion tracking, attribution, customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend, budget pacing, and the limits of optimizing with low conversion volume. - Experience with experimentation, incrementality measurement, constrained optimization, recommendation systems, or decision-making under uncertainty. - Experience building permissioned, multi-tenant products with approval workflows, budget controls, audit trails, and privacy-aware handling of customer and conversion data. BONUS POINTS: - Experience with agent tooling, durable workflow execution, delegated authorization, or evaluation frameworks for agents that take consequential actions. - Experience connecting application events or server-side conversion signals to advertising platforms, or integrating creative generation and landing-page experimentation into growth workflows. - Experience building for small businesses or first-time advertisers, where clear guidance, limited budgets, and sparse data shape the product. - These are additional strengths, not a checklist. Experience with every ad platform is not expected; ad-serving infrastructure experience and an ML research background are not prerequisites. WHAT WE VALUE: - Customer outcomes: success means helping a business acquire qualified leads and customers—not merely connecting an account, launching a campaign, or increasing spend. - User control and trust: agents explain recommendations, act within explicit authority, and make budgets, costs, and consequential changes understandable. - Evidence over activity: we validate measurement, acknowledge uncertainty, and test whether a change improves business outcomes rather than treating attribution as proof of causality. - End-to-end ownership: we own the journey from a business goal through campaign execution, measurement, and ongoing improvement. - Pragmatic technical leadership: we build on existing ad platforms, ship focused increments, and invest in correctness and extensibility where they matter. - Clear collaboration: we document decisions, surface risks early, and help other teams and partners succeed.
