An overview of this role
As a Migration Engineer for GitLab Dedicated, you'll partner with customers to plan and deliver migrations from self-managed GitLab to GitLab Dedicated. You'll use GitLab Geo to replicate customer data and move customers onto fully managed, isolated GitLab environments with minimal disruption. You'll balance hands-on technical delivery with clear communication and project ownership, translating each customer's goals, timelines, and constraints into a practical plan and guiding them through cutover and validation.
You'll use infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and network design to work within existing GitLab Dedicated environments. You'll also improve the tooling, scripts, and runbooks that make migrations repeatable and reduce manual work, while sharing insights from customer engagements with GitLab's Product and Engineering teams.
Lead migrations from self-managed GitLab to GitLab Dedicated using GitLab Geo to replicate customer data
Design migration runbooks and automation for repeatable cutovers, and validate target environments built with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes
What you’ll do
Deliver customer migrations from initial assessment through planning, replication, cutover, and post-migration validation.
Use GitLab Geo to replicate customer data, debug synchronization issues, identify root causes, and keep migrations on track.
Design customer network connectivity within GitLab Dedicated constraints, including virtual private clouds, private connectivity, Domain Name System configuration, and firewall rules.
Apply infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices to interact with and validate existing GitLab Dedicated environments.
Advise customers on migration sequencing, cutover windows, integration requirements, risks, and clear next steps.
Improve migration tooling, scripts, and runbooks to make delivery more reliable, repeatable, and efficient.
Partner with Professional Services, Environment Automation, Product, and Engineering to resolve blockers, share field feedback, and keep delivery consistent.
Manage multiple customer engagements while balancing customer outcomes, delivery priorities, and share technical knowledge with other engineers.
What you’ll bring
Experience delivering customer-facing migration, installation, training, or technical advisory engagements.
Experience using, deploying, or configuring GitLab, with a solid understanding of Git and source control workflows.
Experience with infrastructure as code or configuration as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef.
Hands-on experience running Kubernetes workloads in production, including deployments, rollouts, and debugging crash loops, failed health checks, and scheduling issues.
Experience with a major cloud provider such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure, along with working knowledge of network design and connectivity.
Ability to read, understand, and modify infrastructure tooling, with familiarity in languages such as Go, Python, or Ruby.
Ability to independently lead multiple customer projects, communicate clearly in written and spoken English, and build agreement in a remote, largely asynchronous environment.
PubSec/Federal experience a plus.
A solution-oriented approach, effective cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to GitLab's values. Experience with GitLab Geo and replication is helpful, but deep expertise can be developed in the role.
About the team
Migration Engineers are part of GitLab's Dedicated Infrastructure organization. We work with Sales, Professional Services, Environment Automation, Product, and Engineering to coordinate delivery, resolve customer needs, and share field feedback that improves GitLab features and delivery practices. We work remotely and largely asynchronously across regions and time zones, with a focus on reliable delivery and long-term customer success.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join one of the Data Platform teams that works with the Marketing, Growth, partner, and financial data domains.
You will be working with cutting edge cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, BigQuery, Databricks, K8s) and building a large scale data infrastructure for analytics, machine learning, and streaming/CDC data delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Build and operate batch and streaming ingestion into a layered BigQuery DWH (raw → ODS → data marts) using Airflow, Debezium CDC over Kafka with protobuf, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow
Integrate external data sources end-to-end — marketing platforms (GA4, AppsFlyer, TikTok/Meta/Google Ads), payment providers, S3 buckets, and third-party APIs — including schema contracts, backfills, and reconciliation
Engineer the data platform itself in Python: custom Airflow operators and connectors in a shared ETL framework, Kafka Connect on Strimzi (K8s), Cloud Functions, and API integrations with external providers
Build CI/CD and change-management tooling for BigQuery: GitHub-based test-and-approval flows, SQL migration engines (Liquibase/Flyway/Bytebase), sandbox validation, backup and rollback
Own reliability and correctness of pipelines: idempotency, deduplication, late-data handling, backfill and replay, freshness monitoring and alerting; write integration and unit tests
Drive data governance and compliance: ITGC-compliant change management for BigQuery, IAM and least-privilege access, PII policy tags and DLP, Unity Catalog on Databricks, column-level lineage (OpenMetadata/Dataplex), and disaster-recovery planning
Build internal data tools and platform services for agentic workflows with data — Streamlit apps, Slack bots, LLM-based agents and MCP servers that help teams find and use data
Support analysts and business teams with data requests, fostering data-driven decision-making across the company
Contribute to system design and architecture with the development team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Strong practical Python: clean, well-structured, and tested code for services, tooling, and data pipelines
Solid software design skills (OOP, modularity, design patterns) — we build platform tools for agentic workflows with data and plan to develop data-related backend services, so well-designed code is highly valued
Experience building and operating services in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS or similar): CI/CD, containerization, monitoring and alerting
Familiarity with Kubernetes and Terraform — our infrastructure runs on GCP/K8s
Hands-on experience with DWH-related tasks (BigQuery or another cloud warehouse) and confident working SQL
Clear communication with non-engineering stakeholders — a meaningful share of the work is data requests from analysts and business teams
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technologies or services and proactively contribute ideas to the team
Nice to have
Advanced SQL: complex queries, window functions, partitioning, clustering, and cost optimization
Experience building reliable pipelines around CDC (e.g., Debezium): idempotency, schema evolution, backfills, and reconciliation
Analytical data modeling skills: table grain, facts vs dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, and metric definitions
Experience with stream processing frameworks such as Flink or Apache Beam/Dataflow
Exposure to data governance and audit compliance (ITGC/SOX), Databricks Unity Catalog, or lineage/catalog tooling (OpenMetadata, Dataplex)

We are looking for a
Project Manager, Courier Onboarding & Compliance
to act as the single owner of courier and cargo onboarding flows, verification processes, and regulatory compliance across the Delivery Hub.
In this role, you will sit within the Supply department — which builds and protects our supply base across all geographies — and bridge the gap between regulatory rigor, product experience, and funnel conversion. Your job is simple to describe but difficult to execute: build a seamless, compliant onboarding machine that converts leads into active couriers while protecting the business against regulatory risks across diverse international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Own courier & freight onboarding & registration
Own the registration and verification funnel end-to-end, holding final accountability for the aha-moment conversion rate.
Develop the WatchDocs (registration platform) flow in close partnership with the product team and agree on per-country form configurations.
Monitor funnel metrics, diagnose anomalies, and run drop-off research (surveys, courier calls, field tests with local teams).
Drive platform migrations & scalability
Plan and execute WatchDocs data migrations from old to new platforms on a country-by-country basis.
Track migration impact on registrations and overall conversion, ensuring smooth transitions without supply disruption.
Lead supply compliance & risk management
Own KYC, identity verification, and document requirements for the Courier and Freight verticals, driving final accountability for the share of compliant GMV.
Drive compliance platform development with the engineering team and maintain central compliance dashboards.
Drive compliance platform features with engineering teams.
Represent Delivery Hub in cross-vertical & regulatory initiatives
Act as the primary advocate for Delivery Hub in cross-vertical compliance discussions, balancing legal and regulatory risk against funnel performance with data-backed arguments.
Prepare markets for upcoming regulatory changes (e.g., labor reforms in Kazakhstan, Colombia) and support new market launches in highly regulated environments.
Drive optimization projects & operating rhythm
Run supply funnel optimization projects, quantifying business impact (conversion, GMV, Net Revenue) in coordination with analytics.
Own onboarding and compliance streams in quarterly/annual planning, maintaining single-source dashboards and concise decision-oriented materials for senior leadership.
Qualifications
Experience:
4+ years in project management or operations within ride-hailing, delivery, or marketplace platforms. Hands-on experience with registration/onboarding funnels, identity verification (KYC), or regulatory projects is a strong advantage.
Technical & Data Skills:
Proficiency in SQL (BigQuery) for independent data extraction/validation, experience building BI dashboards (Tableau or similar), and project management tool mastery (Jira, Confluence).
Domain Expertise:
Deep understanding of KYC/identity verification flows and core delivery marketplace metrics (GMV, active supply, done rate, activation, funnel conversion).
Regulatory-to-Product Translation:
Strong ability to translate complex legal and regulatory mandates into clear product requirements while quantifying their business impact.
Stakeholder & Cross-Cultural Management:
Fluent in English with strong cross-cultural communication skills (working with local teams across Central Asia, Africa, LatAm, and South Asia). Confident pushing back on stakeholders with data when proposed requirements threaten conversion.
Mindset:
Extreme end-to-end ownership, pragmatic problem-solving in fast-changing regulatory environments, high execution discipline, and a long-term strategic vision.

At least 10 years in accounting, including time as a Chief Accountant, in a multi-entity or multi-country group, with a demonstrated record of owning a full accounting cycle and a regional P&L, not supporting one.
Technical depth.
Strong command of the monthly close, IFRS reporting, and India statutory and tax (GST, TDS, income tax, transfer pricing, Companies Act / ROC). Familiarity with Far East reporting; the ability to supervise a US-qualified accountant delivering the Americas is an advantage.

Organized and calm under deadline pressure across multiple entities and currencies.
Clear and professional in English, with auditors, banks and stakeholders alike.

We're a fast-growing Series A startup ($34M raised, $10.3M ARR, 75% gross margin) building the unified marketing intelligence platform for enterprises like Spotify, Asus, and Colgate. Our Platform Team owns the core data pipeline infrastructure powering 500+ integrations — and we're now rebuilding how that work gets done, with AI at the center.
We're looking for a Principal Engineer who can set the technical direction for AI-assisted engineering across the Platform Team — someone who doesn't just use AI tools, but defines how they're used responsibly at scale.
About the Role
You'll be the architectural voice on the Platform Team, shaping how we design, build, and evolve our core Python-based extraction and load infrastructure. More than that, you'll own the engineering practices shift: defining how agentic coding, AI-assisted development, and LLM tooling integrate into our delivery process without sacrificing reliability or maintainability. This is a hands-on role — you'll be writing code, reviewing architecture, and mentoring engineers, not just advising.
Responsibilities
Own platform architecture: design and evolve data extraction, load, and pipeline systems serving 500+ integrations at scale
Identify architectural bottlenecks and drive performance/reliability improvements at scale (Kubernetes, distributed systems, ClickHouse/PostgreSQL)
Lead modernization of legacy systems into scalable, AI-native infrastructure
Design and implement agentic development frameworks for codebase maintenance and continuous improvement — owning the full loop from AI-assisted development to automated acceptance and rollout, with proper validation, testing, and architectural guardrails
Make and document key technical decisions; set the bar for code quality, system reliability, and performance
Mentor and level up engineers on AI-assisted development practices — help them ship faster without introducing hidden risk
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and AI teams on agentic framework rollout and new integration capabilities
Requirements
7+ years of backend engineering (hands-on programming), with at least 2 years in a principal/architect-level role owning production systems
You've designed and scaled complex systems, not just maintained them
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (Claude Code, agentic coding) — you ship with it, know its limits and where they break, and have built agentic frameworks for code maintenance and rollout
Strong distributed systems background: Kubernetes, workflow orchestration (e.g. Temporal), message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ)
Experience building secure systems that are hard to break, hard to breach, and resilient
Experience with reliability practices at scale: observability, alerting, incident response
Solid SQL and query optimization across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse
Comfortable with ambiguity and high-velocity, fast-shifting priorities — we move like a startup, not a committee
Ability to work within EST timezone
Fluency in English
Nice to Have
Track record of defining engineering standards and driving adoption across a team
Experience migrating legacy pipeline systems
Background in data integration or ETL infrastructure
What We Offer
Remote-first environment
Direct impact on platform architecture — your decisions matter
Modern AI-native tech stack with real freedom to experiment
20 PTO days + US holidays

Professional development reimbursement
Optional relocation assistance to Latin America after trial period
