We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. The Platform Auth team’s goal is to support our ‘one customer identity’ vision by providing tools, processes, and expertise for our engineering teams to create a unified access management experience while simplifying and standardizing engineering patterns in the space. We are looking for engineers to join our growing team!
What you will be doing:
- Design and build the platform services that power authentication, authorization, and audit across ClickHouse Cloud. This includes a unified RBAC/ReBAC service, token issuance and session handling, and the SDKs that product teams embed to make authorization decision.
- Model permissions and access control primitives (resources, roles, relationships, policies) that work across ClickHouse, SQL Console, ClickPipes, and HyperDX. Ship the libraries and APIs that other engineers build against.
- Implement protocol-level support for SAML, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth2, and MFA/passwordless flows. Own the integrations that make enterprise SSO and provisioning work end to end.
- Build the audit and authorization-decision telemetry pipeline so every access decision is observable, queryable, and surfaceable to customers.
- Partner with product engineering teams to migrate bespoke per-product auth implementations onto the shared platform, and design APIs that make adoption straightforward.
- Carry the platform on-call rotation and own production reliability for systems on the critical path of every customer request.
What you bring along:
- Minimum 4+ years building production backend systems at scale. Comfort with at least one systems language (Go, Rust, C++) and one application language (TypeScript, Python).
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing an authentication or authorization service. Examples include building a token issuer, an OIDC or OAuth2 provider, a policy engine, a permissions model, or an FGA/ReBAC system in the style of Zanzibar, OpenFGA, SpiceDB, or Cedar.
- Working knowledge of SAML, SCIM, OIDC, and OAuth2 at the protocol level and are able to implement them.
- Experience designing APIs and SDKs that other engineers depend on, with strong opinions on what makes them adoptable.
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale, including caching strategies, consistency tradeoffs, and multi-region concerns.
- Familiarity with identity vendors (Auth0, WorkOS, AWS/GCP/Azure IAM) as building blocks you've extended or integrated into a larger platform.
- Strong production debugging instincts and a high bar for systems that are easy to develop against.
Bonus:
- You've built or contributed to a Zanzibar-style authorization system, or run an OpenFGA or SpiceDB deployment beyond the demo.
- You've designed a multi-tenant permission model that survived real customer requirements like custom roles, hierarchies, delegation, and ABAC attributes.
- You've shipped an SDK that product teams across an org actually adopted, and have opinions about why most internal SDKs fail.

500M+ downloads. 80M+ monthly users. A decade of building – and we’re still accelerating.
Flo is the world’s #1 health & fitness app worldwide on a mission to build a better future for female health. Backed by a $200M investment led by General Atlantic, we became the first product of our kind to reach a $1B valuation in 2024 – and we’re not slowing down.
With 7M paid subscribers and the highest-rated experience in the App Store’s health category, we’ve spent 10 years earning trust at scale. Now, we’re building the next generation of digital health – AI-powered, privacy-first, clinically backed – to help our users know their body better.
The job
We’re looking for a
Senior Frontend Engineer
to help us build the next generation of Flo’s platform and user experiences.
You’ll work on the foundation that powers interactive surveys and dynamic content inside the Flo app — building SDKs, reusable components, and internal tooling that enable other product teams to deliver exceptional experiences quickly and reliably.
Our frontend stack is based on
React
,
TypeScript
, and
Next.js
, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and testing.
We care deeply about quality: we use TypeScript for type safety, Jest and Playwright for automated testing, and continuously evolve our design system and UI Kit.
What you'll be doing:
Design, build, and maintain high-quality user-facing components and platform SDKs that enable survey and interactive experiences in the Flo ecosystem.
Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver flexible and scalable solutions.
Contribute to Flo’s design system and shared UI libraries, ensuring consistency and reusability across products.
Refactor and improve existing codebases for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Write clean, modular, well-documented code and advocate for engineering best practices.
Actively participate in the frontend community at Flo, sharing ideas and driving improvements in architecture and development processes.
Your Experience
Must have:
7+ years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining modern web applications.
Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
Deep experience with React and modern frontend tooling.
Solid grasp of object-oriented design patterns and the ability to write efficient, well-structured algorithms
You must use AI coding agents as your default way of working — writing code manually is the exception, not the rule.
Proven ability to create adaptive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces.
A product mindset and strong collaboration skills — you care about how your work impacts the user.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Next.js, Contentful, or similar frameworks and CMS solutions.
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
Understanding of analytics and BI integrations.
Salary Range - gross per month (ranges may vary based on skills and experience)
€5.900
—
€8.300 EUR
How we work
We’re a mission-led, product-driven team. We move fast, stay focused and take ownership – from brief to build to impact. Debate is encouraged. Decisions are shared. We care about craft, ship with purpose, and always raise the bar.
You’ll be working with people who take their work seriously, not themselves. It takes commitment, resilience, and the drive to keep going when things get tough. Because better health outcomes are worth it.
What you'll get
We support impact with meaningful reward. Here’s what that looks like:
Competitive salary and annual reviews
Opportunity to participate in Flo’s performance incentive scheme
Paid holiday, sick leave, and female health leave
Enhanced parental leave and pay for maternity, paternity, same-sex and adoptive parents
Accelerated professional growth through world-changing work and learning support
In-person collaboration and work in a hybrid model, with 3 days per week spent in the office
5-week fully paid sabbatical at 5-year Floversary
Flo Premium for friends & family, plus more health, pension and wellbeing perks
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Our strength is in our differences. At Flo, hiring is based on merit, skill and what you bring to the role – nothing else. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, communities and identities. Read our

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for Engineering Managers to lead engineering teams across Supabase. Teams range from developer-facing surfaces, core backend services, Platform, EngOps, and Databases.
This is a single pipeline for engineering management. As we get to know your background, we'll match you to the team where your experience and interests overlap most strongly. The Engineering Manager is a people, delivery, and technical role. Although we don’t expect managers to contribute to code directly, we do expect you to participate in design discussions and to be involved in setting the bar for engineering quality and best practices.
This is a new role at Supabase. We've historically optimised for technical excellence on every axis, including leadership. As our engineering org grows, people leadership has become just as critical, and the Engineering Manager role exists to reflect that. You'll be shaping what this role looks like from day one.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Team & People
- Build a healthy, high-trust team culture in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.
- Run 1:1s, performance management, career development, and onboarding for your direct reports.
- Handle people admin (leave, time off, etc.) for your team.
Hiring
- Own the hiring plan for your team and act as Hiring Manager. First round of interviewer for all roles on the team.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and close strong candidates.
- Contribute to headcount planning, org design, and the evolution of engineering leadership at Supabase.
Delivery & Roadmap
- Own the team's roadmap and project management (Linear), driving accountability and clear milestones.
- Manage workflow intake and Slack triage. These are the team’s primary inboxes for cross-team requests. You decide what gets routed where, prioritized, or pushed back on.
- Own the team's weekly updates and keep stakeholders aligned without creating overhead.
- Organize effort against support tickets and maintain the team's SLO.
- Surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early and clearly to leadership.
Incident Commander
- Train as an Incident Commander. Drive coordination, resolution, and post-incident follow-up.
- Lead blameless post-incident reviews
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Have 5+ years of engineering background, with enough depth to be credible with engineers building complex systems.
- Have 3+ years managing remote engineering teams.
- Have managed engineering teams at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company. Experience with developer tools or databases is a strong preference, but we'll consider any sufficiently technical background where you can demonstrate the ability to ramp on a new domain.
- Have managed remote, globally distributed teams that work asynchronously across disparate time zones.
- Are technical enough to be credible with strong engineers, but genuinely passionate about people management. This is the work you want to do, not a track you're settling for.
- Build psychological safety and a feedback culture: you give feedback often and in the moment, ask for it back, and create space for the team to do the same.
- Operate as a multiplier. Focused on helping individuals achieve more than they could alone, not on being the best technical voice in the room.
- Coach rather than direct. Remove blockers, connect people to context and resources, and trust your engineers to own how the work gets done.
- Have a real track record of performance management and can speak to specific examples of difficult conversations and how you navigated them.
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and capable of building structure where there isn't much.
- Communicate clearly and write well. You're default async, default written, set context proactively, and surface risks early.
- Are collaborative, low-ego, and adaptable. You thrive working with high-autonomy, senior ICs who have strong technical opinions and don't need to be the smartest person in the room.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.
- ESOP
Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.
- Tech Allowance
Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.
- Health Benefits
Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.
- Annual Off-Sites
Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.
- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.
- ~400 team members
- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)
- 540,000+ community members
We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.
