About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
Our Global Food Safety team exists to keep Wolt’s operations safe, compliant, and trusted across every market we’re in. We partner closely with the business on growth and operational excellence initiatives, building customer trust through clear standards, data-driven improvements, and food safety programmes that actually hold up on the ground.
We’re looking for an Associate Manager, Food Safety to help us build and run these programmes across our European markets. You’ll work closely with operations, legal, policy, and frontline teams to protect our customers and partners, and to keep our sites compliant as we grow. Expect regular travel across our European locations.
What you’ll be doing
This is a hands-on role that blends policy work with real, on-the-ground problem-solving. You’ll partner with country and area leaders, support external audits, and help translate global food safety standards into steps that actually work locally.
Day-to-day in this role you’ll:
Partner with country and area leaders to manage food safety compliance and find pragmatic solutions to emerging risks.
Support our external audit programme, coordinating schedules with third-party auditors and local food authorities.
Help develop and maintain our global food safety policies, procedures, and HACCP plans, translating them into concrete steps at country level.
Handle food safety issues, enquiries, and product recalls, guiding country and site teams through execution and customer communication.
Work with Legal and Policy to keep us ahead of food safety regulations across our European markets.
Track compliance metrics and use the data to spot trends and drive improvements
Our humble expectations*
Formal food safety qualification (e.g. Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health), or equivalent hands-on experience.
5+ years of progressive food safety or regulatory compliance experience in hospitality, retail, quick commerce, or manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards such as FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, IFS, or BRC.
Proven experience managing food safety programmes across multi-country, multi-unit operations, with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
Proven track record conducting internal/external audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses, with the ability to drive follow-up actions that deliver real compliance improvement.
Experience implementing policies and procedures in response to new business initiatives or evolving risk environments.
Fluent in English, given the multi-country scope of this role.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across our European markets.
What we offer
The chance to build and shape food safety practices across a fast-growing set of European markets, with real ownership over how you get there.
A seat on a collaborative, supportive global team genuinely invested in your growth as a leader.
Cross-functional exposure — you’ll work directly with legal, policy, ops, and country teams, not from behind a desk.
Next steps*
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If shortlisted, you’ll start with a screening call with our Talent Acquisition Partner, followed by an interview with the hiring team, a short take-home assignment, and a final debrief. We aim to move quickly and will keep you posted throughout.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.

HEY THERE
We’re looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join the Food Tracking squad at Yazio, the team building the core experience of our product. This includes daily food tracking, AI-driven insights, and features used by millions every day.
You are a key part in shaping the Food Tracking squad, leveraging our Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) stack to deliver high-impact solutions for iOS and Android users. You join a cross-functional team partnering closely with Product Managers, Designers and Analysts.
This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the U.K.
YOUR MISSION
The Food Tracking squad is entering a new phase. From AI-driven features to deep personalization to help users lead a healthier life. Your mission is to shape the future of our squad with your technical expertise.
- Own Features End-to-End. You take ideas from a technical design to a polished, deployed feature. You are responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, ensuring high quality, and monitoring the impact of your work in production.
- Lead Migration to KMP: You assess, document and plan the migration of our complex domain from iOS/Android platform code to KMP-first code—while continuing to ship features to our users.
- Integrate AI Features: Together with the backend team, you bring scaleable AI-powered features to the app and evaluate best practices to ensure a great user experience.
- Partner with Product and Design. You won't just be handed tickets. You are a key contributor to the why and what by assessing new technical areas, weighing trade-offs, and helping shape a roadmap that is both ambitious and achievable.
- Elevate the Team. You act as a mentor for other engineers, leading by example with thoughtful code reviews and improving team processes without being asked.
YOUR PROFILE
We're looking for a seasoned engineer who is passionate about the craft but even more passionate about the impact their code has on users.
- Expert in Modern Mobile Development. You have significant experience building native mobile apps on Android with Kotlin and Compose, ideally with KMP. Experience on iOS with Swift and SwiftUI is a huge plus as well as the willingness to expand ownership across both ecosystems.
- End-to-End Ownership. You have a track record in organizing delivery of features end-to-end.
- AI Adopter. You're comfortable using AI tools to automate your daily workflows and achieve results while maintaining a high bar of quality and safety. Experience in integrating and shaping AI-driven features in production environments is a huge plus.
- Pragmatic. You know how to build the smallest piece fast to achieve results. You know what to build first and what to leave for later. You have high standards for code quality and leave it better than you found it even when things move quickly.
- True Product Engineer. You are obsessed with the user experience and the "why" behind what you're building. You're comfortable with product metrics and are driven to see your work make a measurable impact.
- Excellent Communicator. You can clearly articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical partners. You’re comfortable documenting technical topics in written form to your peers.
OUR CORE TECH STACK
We believe in Kotlin Multiplatform and use it heavily in our modularized monorepo. We share as much code as possible outside of the UI layer, while building the fully native UI using Compose on Android and SwiftUI on iOS.
We use libraries like:
- kotlinx.coroutines
- kotlinx.serialization
- Ktor
- SQLDelight
- Metro for dependency injection.
WHY US?
- An exciting product with millions of users in over 150 countries, driven by our mission to transform the world through healthy eating
- A remote-first setup: work 100% from home, join a co-working space, or work abroad for several weeks per year
- 30 vacation days to relax and recharge, plus 5 child sick days if your little one needs you
- A focus-driven culture that values efficiency over long hours - no overtime expectations, and if it happens, you get that time back!

- A strategic, analytical, and data-driven approach to account planning and decision-making.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of digital commerce, payments, fintech, and the competitive dynamics shaping the payments market.
- Clear and compelling communication skills, with the ability to influence internally and externally at all levels.
- Customer-first judgment and the ability to balance merchant outcomes, commercial performance, and operational realities.
