You will be the critical bridge between our cutting-edge AI capabilities and the specific needs of Ministries, Agencies, and defence organisations across Europe. In this role, you'll collaborate with our Strategic Customer team, Applied ML (AML) Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), Platform, Product, and Go-to-Market teams, serving as the technical program lead and trusted advisor for our most sensitive and high-impact government and defence engagements.
Location: Germany
Eligibility: This individual must be a German citizen living in Germany and fluent in German, enabling immediate engagement with critical defense and national security customers.
Security Clearance: German security clearance is not required, but is a strong nice-to-have.
What You'll Do
Customer Program Leadership:
- Own end-to-end technical program delivery for Germany and broader European public sector and defence customers, from initial deployment through production scaling
- Serve as the primary technical program point of contact for customers, building trusted relationships with departmental CIOs, IT directors, and technical teams
- Translate complex public sector and defence requirements (security, compliance, accessibility, bilingualism, data sovereignty) into actionable engineering plans
- Navigate complex procurement processes, RFP responses, and contractual technical obligations.
Strategic Communication:
- Provide clear, timely, and objective communication across Cohere's engineering organisation, customer stakeholders, pubic sector and defence leadership
- Translate between AI/ML technical concepts and government-appropriate language for decision-makers who may not have deep technical backgrounds
- Present technical roadmaps and status updates to senior stakeholders including departmental executives
- Represent Cohere's technical capabilities in sensitive government and defence contexts.
Complex Program Management:
- Create and manage project schedules that account for public sector and defence timelines, security review processes, and approval cycles
- Identify and manage dependencies across government departments, security authorities, cloud service providers, and internal Cohere teams
- Navigate risks unique to government and defence deployments: privacy compliance, security, political and regulatory, technology and infrastructure.
- Drive alignment between product development priorities and specific customer requirements.
Technical Delivery & Execution:
- Ensure on-time delivery of AI solutions that meet security, privacy, accessibility, and performance standards
- Coordinate technical work across multiple teams: model customisation, security hardening, integration with government systems, bilingual support
- Establish governance checkpoints appropriate for high-stakes government and defence deployments
- Problem-solve complex technical challenges in air-gapped, on-premises, or highly regulated environments.
You May Be a Good Fit If:
Required Experience:
- 6+ years of experience as a customer-facing Technical or Engineering Program Manager in AI/ML consulting, technology transformation, or enterprise software delivery.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience working with government, defence, or heavily regulated customers.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs with stringent compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or technical certs a plus.

- Comfortable discussing API integrations, model inference, data pipelines, and ML operations with technical stakeholders.
Government & Defence Acumen:
- Deep understanding of how government and defence organisations procure, evaluate, and deploy technology
- Familiarity with European government requirements: data sovereignty, privacy laws (Privacy Act), accessibility standards, official languages obligations, security classifications
- Understanding of defence and national security considerations in AI deployment
- Experience with Algorithmic Impact Assessments or AI ethics frameworks is a strong asset
- Eligible to obtain a German security clearance
Nice to Have:
- Active German security clearance
- Bilingual (English/German) proficiency
- Background in or strong familiarity with European defence, intelligence, or critical infrastructure sectors
- Experience with GC Cloud services (Azure, AWS GovCloud) or Protected B/C environments
- Project management certification (PMP, PgMP) or government-specific methodologies.
Security Clearance Requirements
This role strongly prefers eligibility for German government security clearance.
We are looking for candidates eligible for German government clearance, meaning that they require German citizenship. In addition, this individual is required to be based in Germany and be fluent in German as this will enable immediate engagement with critical defence and national security customers.
What Makes This Role Unique
This isn't typical program management - it's a highly specialised role at the intersection of frontier AI, national security, and public sector digital transformation. You'll work on some of Canada's most sensitive and impactful AI deployments, helping government organisations harness cutting-edge technology while maintaining the highest standards of security, ethics, and accountability.
If you're passionate about responsible AI adoption, understand the unique constraints and opportunities within government, and want to have an outsized impact on how Canada leverages AI to serve its citizens, this role is for you.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The LangChain Deployed Engineering - Federal team works directly with U.S. Government customers — including the Department of Defense (DoD), Civilian Agencies, and the Intelligence Community (IC) — who are building and operating AI agents in mission-critical environments.
This is a hands-on, highly technical team that partners closely with government engineers, technical program managers, and system integrators across the full lifecycle — from pre-award technical shaping and evaluations to post-deployment advisory work in secure environments. The focus is on achieving the technical win, architecting secure and compliant agent systems, and enabling agencies to operate AI agents reliably at scale using the LangChain suite.
Deployed Engineers sit at the intersection of engineering, product, security, and go-to-market. You will shape how LangChain is adopted across classified and unclassified environments, ensuring alignment with federal compliance requirements while feeding mission-driven insights back into the platform.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Deployed Engineer, you’ll work on some of the hardest problems in applied AI — not demos or experimental research, but production systems supporting real-world missions.
You’ll help defense, civilian, and intelligence customers design, deploy, and operate AI agents in secure, regulated, and high-stakes environments. The feedback loop is fast, the mission impact is tangible, and your work directly influences how AI agents are deployed across the federal landscape.
You will operate in environments that demand security, reliability, compliance (FedRAMP, IL levels, etc.), and operational rigor.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Co-architect and co-build production AI agents with federal engineering teams and system integrators
- Own the technical win in federal pre-sales engagements by designing secure POCs, supporting RFI/RFP technical responses, and guiding technical evaluations
- Design architectures that meet federal security and compliance requirements (FedRAMP, DoD IL2–IL6, NIST, etc.)
- Help agencies deploy and operate agent-based applications such as mission support copilots, intelligence analysis agents, research automation systems, and multi-step operational workflows
- Advise customers post-award on architecture, scalability, observability, evaluation, and long-term roadmap decisions
- Deliver technical demos, workshops, and enablement sessions tailored to government developer and operator audiences
- Partner with security teams to navigate ATO processes and accreditation pathways
- Surface field feedback from federal use cases and contribute reusable patterns, secure deployment guides, and example code that scale across agencies
- Occasionally contribute code upstream when it meaningfully improves federal customer outcomes
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Must have zctive or prior U.S. security clearance (Secret, TS/SCI)
- 3+ years in a relevant technical role (software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, product engineering), ideally supporting federal or regulated customers
- Experience working with DoD, Civilian Agencies, Intelligence Community, or federal system integrators
- Strong Python and JavaScript fundamentals, with deep systems thinking
- Experience designing agent-based or LLM-powered systems beyond simple API calls, including multi-step workflows, orchestration, guardrails, and failure handling
- Familiarity with secure cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, etc.)
- Comfort operating in regulated environments with security, compliance, and documentation requirements
- Experience supporting technical evaluations, architecture reviews, and competitive down-select processes
- Ability to clearly explain technical tradeoffs to government stakeholders and build trust across engineering and program leadership
- Ownership mindset — you take responsibility for mission outcomes, not just recommendations
- Bias toward action and comfort operating in ambiguity
- Excitement about running AI agents in real-world, production federal environments — not just building demos
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience deploying AI systems in classified or air-gapped environments
- Familiarity with FedRAMP authorization processes or DoD Impact Levels (IL2–IL6)
- Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, red-teaming, or guardrails in high-assurance settings
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, containers, Kubernetes, and secure networking architectures
- Experience working alongside federal system integrators (Booz Allen, SAIC, Leidos, etc.)
- Production experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agent frameworks

Nysonian is one of the fastest-growing consumer portfolios, behind NOBL and Flo Pilates. We grew over 8x in 2025 and are building the next phase of the business across physical products, software, and subscription experiences.
NOBL is a functional travel brand built around a simple idea. Travel products should solve real problems, not just look better. Every feature is designed to eliminate friction from the travel experience, from seamless organization and easy access to tracking, connectivity, and protection.
Flo Pilates brings studio-quality Pilates into the home through connected fitness hardware, content, and subscription experiences.
Across both brands, we are building product ecosystems that deepen the customer relationship beyond the initial purchase and create recurring value over time. We are looking for builders who want ownership, speed, and the ability to shape products at scale.
The Opportunity:
Nysonian is hiring a Global Trade Compliance Manager to to own the company's end-to-end import/export compliance program across all origin and destination markets. This role is responsible for export documentation and compliance out of China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia, and for import/customs clearance compliance into the UAE, UK, EU, Australia, Canada, the USA, and Mexico — including HS/HTS classification, importer- of-record (or equivalent) obligations, and duty/tariff management in each jurisdiction, to a standard of 100% compliance. The role works closely with the China/Southeast Asia buying and sourcing teams, the Mexico manufacturing facility, customs brokers and freight forwarders in each market, and surety/bond providers, to keep shipments compliant and identify and resolve compliance risk before it becomes a liability.
What You'll Own:
Own end-to-end export documentation and compliance for shipments originating from China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and each origin country's export licensing/permit requirements.
Own end-to-end import and customs clearance compliance for shipments into the UAE (Dubai Customs / GCC), UK (post-Brexit customs, EORI), EU (EU customs union, EORI), Australia (Australian Border Force), Canada (CBSA), the USA (CBP), and Mexico (SAT/Aduana).
Manage and maintain HS/HTS code classifications across the full product catalog for NOBL Travel, Flo Pilates, and other Nysonian brands, mapping classifications correctly to each destination market's tariff schedule.
Act as the primary point of contact for the customs clearance process in each market, coordinating directly with local customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities to resolve entry issues, holds, and requests for information.
Manage Importer of Record (or equivalent, e.g., EORI holder) responsibilities and obligations in every import market, maintaining 100% compliance with each jurisdiction's customs regulations, bonded entry requirements, and recordkeeping standards.
Monitor and manage customs surety bonds and guarantees where applicable (e.g., the U.S. bond program with Avalon Risk Management), including bond sufficiency, claims, and provider relationships, and lead resolution of any bond or liquidated damages matters.
Lead the response to customs compliance actions and enforcement notices from any origin or destination authority (e.g., CBP liquidated damages notices, requests for information), coordinating internally and with outside counsel or brokers as needed.
Identify and apply free trade agreement and preference programs to reduce duty exposure (e.g., USMCA, EU/UK- Vietnam FTA, ASEAN trade agreements, GCC arrangements, AANZFTA), and assess rules-of-origin risk — particularly for products manufactured in Mexico with components sourced from China, where dual-origin
exposure exists.
Monitor changes in tariff policy, trade agreements, and trade remedy actions (e.g., U.S. Section 301/232, EU CBAM, safeguard duties) across all markets, and translate them into landed-cost impact and mitigation recommendations for leadership.
Partner with the China/Southeast Asia buying teams and the Mexico manufacturing facility to ensure sourcing, bill-of-materials, and country-of-origin documentation support accurate classification and compliant entries in every market.
Build and maintain internal SOPs, recordkeeping systems, and training materials to standardize export and import compliance practices across all origin and destination countries.
Prepare compliance reporting and risk summaries for leadership, flagging open exposures by country (e.g., open enforcement cases, bond claims) and recommended next steps.
Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in international trade compliance spanning both export (Asia-origin) and import compliance across multiple destination markets, ideally supporting a consumer goods or e-commerce company.
Hands-on experience with HS/HTS classification and customs entry processes across more than one jurisdiction (e.g., US, UK/EU, Canada, Australia, or GCC).
Working knowledge of Importer of Record / EORI-equivalent obligations, customs bonds/guarantees, and customs enforcement actions (e.g., CBP liquidated damages, CF-28/CF-29 notices).
Familiarity with rules of origin under USMCA and other applicable free trade agreements, including multi-country manufacturing scenarios (e.g., China-origin components assembled in Mexico).
Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders across multiple countries, and coordinating export procedures with factories/sourcing offices in China, Vietnam, Thailand, or Cambodia.
Strong attention to detail and comfort owning compliance outcomes independently across jurisdictions, with a track record of driving issues to resolution.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and time zones in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), CCS/CBIP, or an equivalent international trade compliance certification is a plus but not required.
