About the Role
Our client is a high-end custom millwork operation based in Long Island City, producing luxury grade millwork for prestigious residential projects. Their 12,000 sq ft shop is a full-service fabrication environment — design review, production, finishing, delivery, and installation — and they hold every project to an uncompromising standard of craftsmanship.
They are seeking an experienced Millwork Shop Manager to take full ownership of shop operations: workflow, production scheduling, quality control, estimating, procurement, and site coordination. This is a leadership role for someone who knows the millwork trade from the inside out and can run a shop with the discipline and attention to detail that luxury residential work demands.
What We’re Looking For
The right candidate has managed a millwork shop before — not just supervised on the floor, but owned the full operational picture. They know wood, they know hardware, they know how to read a shop drawing and spot a problem before it becomes a field issue.
A proven shop manager with luxury residential or high-end interior millwork experience
Technically strong in shop drawing review, site measurement, and estimating
Operationally sharp — able to manage schedules, procurement, and multiple concurrent projects without losing control of quality
A clear communicator with clients, architects, site supers, and vendors
A leader who holds the team to the standard the product requires
Core Responsibilities
Shop Operations & Production
Manage all daily operations of the millwork shop including workflow sequencing, production scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance
Oversee fabrication processes end to end, ensuring all finished products meet luxury grade standards of craftsmanship, detail, and customization
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe, organized shop environment
Stay current on industry trends, materials, hardware, and fabrication techniques relevant to high-end millwork

Procure all materials required for production — wood species, hardware, finishes, and accessories — within established budget parameters
Delivery, Installation & Project Coordination
Schedule, coordinate, and monitor the delivery and on-site installation of millwork components, maintaining project timelines throughout
Communicate proactively with site superintendents, architects, clients, and vendors to clarify requirements and manage expectations
Qualifications
Proven experience managing or supervising a residential or commercial millwork shop, preferably in the luxury or high-end interior market — required
Strong working knowledge of wood species, hardware, finishes, and fabrication techniques
Expertise in shop drawing review, site measurements, and project estimating
Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects
Effective communicator — able to liaise professionally with clients, architects, vendors, and project teams
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability when project conditions change
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2023 (drafting and drawing review) is a plus
Experience with Procore or comparable project management platforms is advantageous
The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced millwork professional to step into a shop leadership role at a company that takes genuine pride in what it produces. Our client offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, a well-equipped 12,000 sq ft facility, and a team culture defined by craft and quality. About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
As a Transformative AI Research Economist at Anthropic, you will build macroeconomic models of AI that could be genuinely transformative and develop the scenario-based forecasting tools that let us reason quantitatively about economic trajectories with no historical precedent. You will work on questions of aggregate growth, income distribution, and economic governance under scenarios that most of the profession has not yet modeled seriously.
You will ground projections in microeconomic signals from the
Anthropic Economic Index
— usage patterns across millions of real-world AI interactions, surfaced through privacy-preserving measurement — so that scenario forecasts are disciplined by what we actually observe about task transformation and productivity. You will use frontier methods in growth theory, computational macro, and structural estimation, and contribute to AI-powered tools that expand what economic research can do.
Our team combines rigorous empirical methods with novel measurement approaches. We're building first-of-its-kind datasets tracking AI's impact on labor markets, productivity, and economic transformation. Using our

Contribute to the development of AI-powered research tools for economics
Contribute to Economic Index Reports and publish Research Briefs on first-order questions as they arise
Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, policy think tanks, and other research partners
Amplify external engagement through research publications, policy briefs, and presentations to diverse stakeholders
You May Be a Good Fit If You Have
PhD in Economics, or an exceptional candidate close to completion
Background in macroeconomics, growth theory, or public finance ideally with exposure to task-based frameworks and labor economics
A research record that engages seriously with the possibility of transformative AI — you treat the scenarios in this posting as live questions worth modeling rigorously, not speculation to be hedged against
Relevant experience in some of:
Macroeconomic modeling and structural estimation
Scenario-based and time-series forecasting
Task-based approaches to technological change
Computational methods, agent-based modeling, or large-scale simulation

directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

About the role:
You will own the inference backbone behind QVAC's local AI stack: the C++ systems layer that makes models run fast, reliably, and predictably on real user hardware. The role is centered on engineering quality at runtime level, including startup behavior, memory pressure, throughput/latency balance, and long-session stability. You will define and evolve the core abstractions that inference features depend on, so new capabilities can be added without sacrificing performance or maintainability. This is a role for someone who enjoys low-level problem solving, clear technical ownership, and building infrastructure that other teams trust in production. Your work directly enables private, on-device AI experiences and helps set the technical foundation for QVAC's next generation of peer-to-peer AI products.
About the job
You'll work on the C++ layer that powers local AI, porting and enhancing inference engines like llama.cpp or similar, to run efficiently on edge devices. Your focus is on the runtime: making models load faster, run leaner, and perform well across different hardware. You'll ensure that the inference layer is stable, optimized, and ready for integration with the rest of the stack.
This role is for engineers who want to work close to the metal, enabling private and fast on-device AI without relying on cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Work on deploying machine learning models to edge devices using the frameworks: llama.cpp, ggml
Collaborate closely with researchers to assist in coding, training and transitioning models from research to production environments
Integrate AI features into existing products, enriching them with the latest advancements in machine learning

Good understanding of deep learning concepts and model architectures
Experience with transformers, LLMs, Diffusion models
Demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate new technologies and techniques
A degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, complemented by a solid track record in AI R&D
Bonus points if:
You know how to train/fine-tune a LLM
You have productionized models
You have research experience in new model architectures
You have experience with distributed systems
Javascript experience
