An overview of this role
As an Senior AI Engineer at GitLab, you'll help build the foundation for GitLab's transformation into an AI-first company. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise AI, you'll be a hands-on technical leader responsible for delivering internal AI-powered solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Building fast matters, but it's not enough on its own. This role starts with understanding the real problem: mapping how work moves across teams, tools, and handoffs, identifying the true constraint, and validating whether AI is the right solution before you begin development. From there, you'll take ownership from discovery through deployment, combining strong engineering skills with systems thinking and business understanding.
Your initial focus will span Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support, where you will embed AI solutions into key systems and workflows. This role offers the opportunity to shape how GitLab team members work, improve flow across the organization, and help advance our mission in a remote, asynchronous, and values-driven environment.
What you'll do
Diagnose business problems before building solutions. Map workflows, identify constraints, and confirm whether AI is the right intervention. Be prepared to say "this doesn't need AI" when that's the honest answer.
Own AI initiatives end-to-end, from stakeholder discovery and technical design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
Design, develop, and ship AI-powered solutions quickly, delivering working prototypes in days, not months, with a focus on practical outcomes and measurable business value.
Improve organizational flow by building solutions that reduce bottlenecks, shorten lead times, and increase throughput. Measure success using flow metrics alongside adoption and ROI.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems and workflows using APIs, orchestration tools, and modern AI platforms, including GitLab Duo Agent Platform, where appropriate. The right tool wins, whether that's custom code, a platform, or a well-crafted prompt.
Be Customer Zero: leverage and showcase GitLab's AI offerings wherever possible, feeding real-world usage insights back to R&D.
Partner closely with stakeholders across functions to understand the real constraints. Ask the right questions, bridge technical and non-technical perspectives, and align on outcomes before jumping to solutions.
Define and track success through business metrics, flow metrics, and feedback loops that make performance visible and actionable.
Contribute to technical direction by evaluating tools, documenting patterns, and creating reusable foundations that help the team scale its impact.
What you'll bring
A Technologist at Heart -
Genuinely invested in technology, the foundational and the cutting-edge in equal measure. You're as energised by a well-designed API integration as you are by the latest foundation model release. You reach for the simplest solution that solves the problem well, rather than forcing new technology when proven approaches would do. AI is a powerful part of your toolkit, but it sits on top of solid engineering fundamentals, not in place of them.
Competent, Confident Coding Skills -
You can build working solutions end-to-end, write clean and maintainable code, and debug effectively. Whether your skills were honed in a traditional engineering role, through building automations, or shipping side projects, what matters is that you can deliver production-quality work independently.
AI
& LLM
Technical Depth -
Strong proficiency in at least one modern scripting language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar) and a solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration patterns. Deep, practical experience with modern AI technologies, specifically: Prompt engineering as a core discipline: designing effective system prompts, managing context windows, structuring multi-turn interactions, evaluating output quality, and iterating systematically on prompt design.
Model selection and cost-performance trade-offs:
understanding when a smaller fine-tuned model outperforms a general-purpose large one, when RAG is the right architecture versus expanding the context window, and how to make principled decisions about capability versus cost.
Agentic architecture patterns:
tool use, multi-agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop designs, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and production-grade reliability patterns.Practical fluency across the LLM ecosystem: hands-on experience with models from Anthropic, OpenAI, open-source alternatives, and the judgment to know which to reach for and when.
AI Safety & Risk Awareness -
You think critically about how the solutions you build could be exploited, misused, or produce unintended consequences. You know how to design appropriate guardrails (input validation, output filtering, access controls, prompt injection defences, and data leakage prevention) and you treat these as first-class engineering concerns.
Systems Thinking & Diagnostic Rigour -
The ability to look at a complex process and see the constraint. Comfortable mapping how work flows end-to-end, identifying bottlenecks, and tracing problems to root causes before proposing solutions. You instinctively ask "what's actually blocking flow here?" before asking "what model should I use?"
Business System Expertise -
Familiarity with the landscape of enterprise business systems, CRM (Salesforce), marketing automation (Marketo), support platforms (Zendesk), integration and orchestration tools (Workato), AI platforms (Relevance AI), and enterprise search and knowledge tools (Glean). You don't need deep experience with all of these, but to understand what they do, how they fit together, and be willing to build with and across them. A strong understanding of enterprise data models and workflows is essential.
Broad Functional Understanding -
Ability to have meaningful conversations with stakeholders across diverse domains and quickly understand their unique needs.
End-to-End Ownership -
Track record of owning complex initiatives from discovery through delivery. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving to measurable outcomes independently.
Product Mindset -
Ability to scope MVPs, prioritise ruthlessly, and deliver iteratively. In addition, consider adoption, user experience, and business outcomes.
Preferred requirements
Experience with GitLab platform and CI/CD workflows
Background in consulting, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
Familiarity with value stream mapping, flow metrics, or Theory of Constraints thinking
Experience with low-code/no-code orchestration tools (n8n, Make, Workato) alongside custom development
Previous startup or high-growth company experience
Experience mentoring or leading technical projects with junior engineers
About the team
You will join the Enterprise Technology & AI team. We're the backbone of the organisation, driving transformation in how GitLab team members make decisions, operate at scale, and deliver results for our customers.
We believe the best AI solutions start with understanding the system, not the technology. We value people who think in constraints and flow, who build with conviction, and who never stop learning. We work in an all-remote, asynchronous setting, guided by GitLab's values of collaboration, results, efficiency, diversity, inclusion and belonging, iteration, and transparency.

About the Company
Our client is a results-driven AI marketing agency that specializes in local lead generation for high-stakes professional service firms, including legal, medical, and home services industries. +2 years of experience closing high-ticket services in a digital marketing, agency, or SaaS environment.
Proven track record of selling directly to business owners and managing partners in service-based industries (Law, Medical, Home Services).

Availability to cover core US hours (8am–7pm CST) to support prospects from EST to PST.

About Provectus
Provectus is an AWS Premier Partner and an Anthropic Strategic Partner, working at the frontier of applied AI. We help enterprises turn Claude, agentic systems, and their own data into measurable business outcomes — through bespoke applications, managed services, and advisory engagements. With offices in North America, LATAM, and EMEA, we partner with clients worldwide.
Our work centers on two verticals — Financial Services & Insurance and Healthcare & Life Sciences — where we deploy five pre-built AI Blueprints: Submission Flow, Portfolio Lens, Asset Flow, Revenue Flow, and Evidence Lens. Each Blueprint rebuilds a critical business process front to back, shipped from working code and tuned to a client's specific book, regulators, and operating posture.
Our team holds 100+ AWS certifications, is Claude Code certified, and co-delivers Anthropic's Agentic SDLC program, Cowork Activation, and AI Blueprint engagements.
Where this role sits
You will work in a small, senior pod alongside an FDE and an FDX,
Forward Deployed Executives (FDX)
own the commercial relationship and the business outcome. Works alongside the client's leadership or C-suite level to move the client's KPIs.
Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE)
embed with a client, map the client workflow, identify the business problem underneath it, design and build a working AI solution, present to the client, and transfer the knowledge to the client's team. Owns technical direction of the whole solution.
Senior AI Engineer.
When an FDE comes back from the client with the business problem, you will help turn that into an agentic system that runs in production and will be responsible for evaluation, observability, and guardrails. You'll have real ownership of components and of the technical decisions inside them.
Requirements:
Mindset
Proactive and self-directed;
you push for clarity rather than waiting for a ticket
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership.
B2+ English, comfortable collaborating across distributed, multicultural teams.
Technical depth
5+ years in software or ML engineering, with production systems you were accountable for
.
Solid AI/ML foundations. You understand what the models do well enough to reason about failure modes.
Shipped to production LLM applications and agentic workflows — not demos, not POCs, not notebooks.
Agentic orchestration: multi-step workflows, graph-based orchestration, tool use, state management, and recovery from partial failure
Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI) and agent frameworks.
Experience building and optimizing RAG systems in production.
Strong engineering fundamentals. Full-stack mindset, comfortable across AI, backend development, and cloud infrastructure. Python and/or TypeScript proficiency; depth matters more than stack.
Dropped into an unfamiliar codebase, you're productive.
Hands-on AWS in production: Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, ECR, or similar. GCP or Azure is a plus.
Cloud-native delivery: containers, ECS or Kubernetes, IaC, and CI/CD applied to AI pipelines.
You evaluate. You have built or owned an eval suite for a non-deterministic system, and you can explain what you measured, how you produced ground truth, and what gated a release.
Model and agent monitoring, drift detection.
Cost and latency discipline: model tiering, caching, and the ability to say what a workload costs to run before it runs.
Hands-on production experience with the Claude ecosystem — Claude Code, CLAUDE.md, hooks, skills files. Spec-driven development — writing the intent, constraints, and acceptance criteria before you let an agent build — is a strong plus.
MCP: you can say why an agent would prefer it to a REST integration. Having authored a server is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Work in a pair with an FDE and an FDX.
Build and ship production GenAI systems into the customer’s environment (cloud-native data, LLM-based, and agentic AI solutions).
Build and optimize RAG systems for production use cases
Build the evaluation harness before you build the feature.
Write production code across the stack — AI, backend services, data pipelines. We choose tools to fit the customer.
Integrate AI components into backend services and RESTful APIs
Take systems to production on AWS (GCP or Azure where the customer requires it): containerised, CI/CD. Implement LLMOps and AgentOps practices: agent tracing, prompt and version management, cost and latency monitoring, regression testing, drift detection
Start from the blueprint, contribute to enablement and handover: clear documentation, runbooks, and pairing with the client engineers who will inherit the system. Feed reusable components and lessons back into the Provectus Blueprints
Participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions
Conduct model evaluation, improve failure modes you find, optimize model performance, efficiency, and reliability
Mentor junior and mid-level AI engineers, conduct code reviews and share knowledge across the team through documentation, presentations, and workshops.
Nice to Have:
Experience in one of the industries: financial services, insurance, healthcare.
Consulting, professional services, or other embedded customer-facing delivery.
AWS and Claude Code Certifications
A2A: you can explain agent-to-agent interoperability
CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Practical experience with one or more use cases from the following: NLP, LLMs, and Recommendation engines.
Experience in an additional language (Go, TypeScript, or Rust).
Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Kafkа
What We Offer:
The chance to shape how leading enterprises across LATAM, Europe, and North America adopt AI, from strategy through first deployment
A forward-deployed model working in small, senior teams alongside FDE and FDX

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Notion is building the connected workspace that teams everywhere use to think, plan, and ship — and our partner ecosystem is central to how we grow in the DACH market. As Regional Partner Manager for DACH, you'll own our partner relationships across the region, working closely with our Munich sales team to drive revenue through value-added resellers, hyperscaler ecosystems, and local services partners.
This is a builder role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment. You'll be the architect of Notion's DACH partner motion — standing up programs, forging relationships, and converting partner activity into measurable pipeline. You'll operate across multiple partner types simultaneously and serve as the connective tissue between our ecosystem and our sales team.
The ideal candidate brings a hunter's instinct to partnerships: proactive, commercially sharp, and energised by the challenge of building something meaningful in a market with real momentum. You'll work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and regional leadership — and you'll be a visible face of Notion in the DACH partner community.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Own and grow Notion's DACH partner ecosystem across value-added resellers, cloud/hyperscaler partnerships, and local services partners
- Build and execute joint go-to-market programs with regional VARs and solutions partners
- Manage Notion's hyperscaler partnerships in DACH, overseeing cloud marketplace deal flow and co-sell motions
- Align partner activity directly to the DACH sales team's pipeline — facilitating introductions, mapping accounts, and driving resell and co-sell opportunities to close
- Coordinate joint initiatives that bring together reseller partners and hyperscaler ecosystems for combined enterprise programs
- Develop and maintain strong executive relationships with partner leadership across the region, becoming a trusted extension of their go-to-market teams
- Track and report on partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline; present program performance to internal stakeholders and EMEA regional leadership
- Support services delivery by local partners on an ad-hoc basis, helping maintain quality and partner satisfaction
- Identify and qualify inbound partnership opportunities, and proactively surface new partner relationships that can expand Notion's reach in DACH
- Collaborate with Notion's global and EMEA partner teams to adapt programs to the local market and share learnings across regions
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 10+ years of experience in partnerships, channel sales, or alliances in the enterprise SaaS or cloud software industry
- Demonstrated experience managing both VAR/reseller programs and at least one cloud or hyperscaler partnership — comfort across both partner types is essential
- A builder's track record: you've stood up partner programs and can point to outcomes you drove
- Strong demand generation orientation
- Commercially sharp with the ability to connect partner activity to revenue outcomes
- Highly collaborative and effective working alongside direct sales teams — you understand what reps need, and you make their lives easier
- Executive presence and strong relationship-building skills; you're as comfortable presenting to a partner CRO as you are coordinating logistics with a partner marketing manager
- Experience working in or alongside hyper-growth or startup environments — you're comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast without a complete playbook
- Based in Munich with existing knowledge of the DACH technology market; willingness to travel across EMEA and occasionally across EMEA
- Strong organisational and operational discipline — you manage multiple active partner relationships without dropping balls, and you communicate proactively
- You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with cloud marketplace programs and hyperscaler co-sell motions
- Familiarity with product-led growth (PLG) or bottoms-up SaaS go-to-market models
- Existing relationships with DACH-based VARs, systems integrators, or hyperscaler partner teams
- Cross-market EMEA experience — e.g. managing partnerships across EMEA regions simultaneously

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
