About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About Startups @ Vercel
The Vercel Startups org exists to help founders navigate the shift to AI-native development with confidence. Startups move faster than ever—what used to take years now happens in days—and the decisions founders make early can either unlock scale or become long-term constraints. We partner with startups at the critical moments where technical, commercial, and strategic support starts to matter most.
We’re a talent-dense team made up of former founders, engineers, and experienced go-to-market operators who bring firsthand experience building, scaling, and supporting modern software companies. Many of us have sat on the other side of the table, making architectural decisions, navigating tradeoffs, and scaling under real constraints, and we bring that perspective into every customer interaction.
We operate with a growth mindset and strong shared ownership. We dig deep to understand our customers, work closely across functions as one team, and find ways to win even when the path forward isn’t obvious. Resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to push through hard problems are table stakes here.
This is a team for people who want to operate with high trust, high agency, and high impact — alongside peers who care deeply about helping startups succeed.
About the role
You are an expert in Vercel, you have incredible pattern recognition, and are at the bleeding edge of the tech and tools defining how we live and work. In this role, you'll help startups unlock Vercel's full value from adoption through scaling—building relationships with founders and technical leaders who are making critical architectural decisions. You'll analyze usage patterns to identify expansion opportunities, coordinate cross-functional teams to drive outcomes, and guide teams as they adopt AI-native architectures. By leveraging automation and AI to maximize your impact, you'll help refine early plays into repeatable playbooks that scale across our startup portfolio.
If you’re based within commuting distance of our London office, the role includes in-office anchor days.
What you'll do
Build trusted relationships with founders, developers, and technical leaders by quickly developing deep understanding of their architecture, use cases, and technical constraints
Landing new logos, driving early activation, and making Vercel the default choice before competitors get in
Driving first activation, earning trust fast, and positioning Vercel as the obvious default stack
Focus on pipeline generation, outbound, identifying high-potential startups early
Partner with founders and developers as they adopt AI-native features and architectures, helping them understand how Vercel’s Frontend Cloud fits into a rapidly evolving developer ecosystem and supports new workloads, performance requirements, and scaling patterns
Use automation, agents, and self-built workflows to operate at high leverage and focus time and energy on the most impactful customer work
Operate comfortably in an evolving environment, helping refine early motions and turn what works into repeatable playbooks
What you need
We’re looking for someone who sits at the intersection of technical curiosity, commercial excellence, and startup mindset. You identify pattern recognition, have founder empathy, and have the ability to speak credibly to pre-seed through Series D companies and beyond who are making fast decisions.
You might be a great fit if you’ve developed this skill set through a range of paths—whether as a builder, founder, engineer, or in a technical go-to-market role—and you bring strong judgment, ownership, and curiosity to how you work.
In practice, this looks like someone who:
Learns complex technical products quickly and enjoys reasoning about how modern web and AI-native applications are built and scaled
Can speak comfortably with developers and founders, using their language and earning credibility through insight rather than titles
Has strong sales acumen and experience owning revenue outcomes across a range of deal sizes and complexities
Believes that the best revenue outcomes come from deeply successful customers, not transactional selling
Brings a thoughtful, opinionated point of view on modern web infrastructure, frontend performance, and scaling tradeoffs
Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys shaping how a team and motion evolves from early to more structured
Is energized by ownership, accountability, and helping customers make smart decisions
What This Role Is Not
Not a pure Customer Success role focused on reactive support
Not a transactional sales role detached from customer outcomes
Not a highly scripted role with narrow ownership or predefined motions
This role requires judgment, curiosity, and comfort operating across technical, strategic, and commercial dimensions.
Benefits:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.

Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Team
The Security Engineering team protects Anthropic's AI systems and maintains the trust of our users and society. We define the authentication architecture for our training infrastructure, design the cryptographic foundations that protect model weights and training data, and drive the developer security program that shapes how engineers build and ship software.
The team works across several areas that collaborate closely: identity and secrets management, developer security and supply chain, infrastructure security, and secure frameworks. You will support one of these areas while contributing across others, with your focus shaped by your strengths and the team's priorities.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain identity and secrets management systems, including credential issuance, rotation, and workload authentication across our multi-cloud environments
Contribute to cluster security controls including RBAC policies, namespace isolation, workload identity, and pod security
Implement and maintain cloud security controls including IAM, network segmentation, VPC architecture, and encryption across our multi-cloud and on-prem environments
Design and implement secure development frameworks and libraries that make secure coding the path of least resistance for our engineering teams, including service to service authentication, serialization libraries, and tool proxies.
Harden CI/CD pipelines against supply chain attacks through isolated build environments, signed attestations, dependency verification, and automated policy enforcement
Identify and remediate security gaps through code review, threat modeling, and hands-on debugging
Contribute to continuous cloud security posture management using infrastructure-as-code scanning, misconfiguration detection, and automated remediation
You may be a good fit if you have:
At least 5 years of software engineering experience implementing and maintaining security-relevant systems in production
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Strong programming skills in Python or at least one systems language such as Go or Rust
Experience contributing to cloud security controls
A track record of taking ownership of problems end to end, from identifying the issue to shipping and monitoring the fix
Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering teams
Low ego and high empathy, with a genuine interest in helping teammates succeed
Passion for AI safety and the role security engineering plays in building trustworthy AI systems
Strong candidates may also have:
Contributions to developer security tooling including SAST, dependency scanning, or secure build infrastructure
Familiarity with Kubernetes security primitives including RBAC, namespaces, network policies, and admission controllers
Experience with cloud security posture management tooling, infrastructure-as-code security scanning, or automated remediation
Experience with network security and isolation techniques including east-west controls, traffic inspection, and cloud network policy
Experience with eBPF for security monitoring and enforcement, or developing kernel security policies
Experience building secrets management or workload authentication systems, including familiarity with protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, or SPIFFE/SPIRE
Background building or operating security systems in environments that support research workflows and rapid iteration
Deadline to apply:
None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:

Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

- Design, build, and operate custom agents, integrations, automations, and data pipelines that connect Notion with customers’ systems and workflows.
- Lead the design and execution of large-scale content and data migrations, including discovery, scoping, data modeling, transformation logic, validation, and post-migration optimization.
- Work directly with customer engineering, IT, security and business stakeholders to gather technical requirements, identify constraints, evaluate feasibility, and make sound architectural decisions that maximizes the value of Notion within their broader technical ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot complex implementation issues across APIs, integrations, automation logic, data quality, permissions, authentication, system limits, and customer specific environments.
- Design and operate feedback loops with Product, CX, and Engineering, translating real-world implementation challenges into actionable insights, technical requirements, and tooling improvements that directly influence Notion’s Product Roadmap and our Customers.
- Build reusable technical assets, including migration tooling, integration patterns, reference implementations, discovery frameworks, technical standards, scripts, and internal delivery tooling.
- Help define how Services delivers complex technical implementations at scale by improving methodologies, scoping artifacts, build patterns, technical documentation and engineering best practices.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 5+ years of experience in customer-facing or forward deployed engineering role or a similar hands-on technical role.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, SQL, or Python and comfort with writing production-quality code in customer-facing or internal engineering contexts.
- Hands-on experience with APIs and data integration.
- Ability to lead technical discovery with customers, assess feasibility, identify risks, scope technical work, estimate effort, and translate ambiguous requirements into an executable plan.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to isolate root causes across code, APIs, permissions, integrations and customer specific configuration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences effectively.
- A track record of delivering customer value by translating technical challenges into solutions that drive outcomes for customers at scale.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience working in professional services, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience deploying AI agents autonomously in complex coding or business workflows.
- Experience designing or implementing AI-powered workflows, including work with MCPs, APIs, LLM applications, prompt engineering, retrieval/RAG systems or workflow orchestration.
- Background in developing technical frameworks, discovery methodologies, or internal tooling from the ground up.
- Experience with ETL/ELT workflows, data transformation, schema mapping, validation scripts, or large-scale content migration tooling.
- Strong history of collaboration with product and engineering teams, including influencing roadmaps or architectural decisions.
- Experience supporting pre-sales or early engagement phases, including technical discovery, migration scoping, feasibility analysis, effort estimation, and building prototypes or custom scripts to validate approaches.
- Strong track record of successful enterprise customer implementations.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Notion is rebuilding its go-to-market motion around a workflow-first, builder-led model—and the BDR is at the front of it. As a Business Development Rep, you'll be the force that turns the right accounts into the right conversations. You'll partner closely with Solutions Consultants to identify and target companies that are ready to rethink how they work—and your job is to get them in the room. This isn't generic pipeline work: you're qualifying for workflow-first, build-ready opportunities that set SCs up to win. If you're competitive, curious, and energized by outbound that actually means something, this is the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Generate qualified, workflow-first pipeline by identifying and targeting high-potential accounts in your assigned book, partnering with your sellers on account and outbound strategy
- Run multi-channel outbound campaigns—email, phone, LinkedIn, and events—to create urgency and secure first meetings with the right decision-makers
- Conduct initial qualification to ensure meetings handed to sellers are "ready to build," not just "ready to talk"—validating ICP, intent, and workflow fit before the handoff
- Document and deliver clean handoff packets in Salesforce with ICP signals, pain points, workflow hypothesis, and stakeholder context so sellers can hit the ground running
- Leverage GTM System tooling and intent data to sharpen targeting, prioritize accounts by signal strength, and increase the quality and consistency of your outbound motion
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- Proven track record in outbound pipeline generation, with hands-on experience in cold prospecting across phone, email, and social channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, persona-specific outreach that earns a response
- Sharp qualification instincts—able to quickly assess ICP fit, identify urgency, and set solutions consultants up for high-quality first conversations
- Passion for AI/ML and understanding of API-first or consumption-based business models
- High-activity mindset with the discipline to prioritize based on signal and data, not just volume
- You don't need to be an AI expert, but you're curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
- Fluency in Japanese and ideally business level in English
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, or similar GTM tooling
- Familiarity with Notion as a product or prior experience selling productivity, collaboration, or workflow software
- Background in a high-velocity, metric-driven outbound environment with clear pipeline targets
