This is a hybrid engineering and security seat built for someone who is genuinely both: you ship products alongside the engineering team when the security queue is quiet, and you own security work end to end when it lands. You report into engineering and partner closely with the Payward security, CISO, and compliance functions. THE OPPORTUNITY - Own security deliverables end to end. Coordinate and review smart-contract audits, respond to security questionnaires and due-diligence requests, support CISO and compliance initiatives, and turn findings into tracked, closed-out fixes. - Run offensive assessments against our own platforms. Pentest the web apps, APIs, backend services, and on-chain components, and build the tooling to do it repeatedly rather than once. - Continuously assess posture. Threat-model new and existing systems, review architecture and key-management flows, and maintain a living view of the risks and their mitigations. - Review code for security. Be a default reviewer on changes touching auth, cryptography, custody, signing, and fund movement across our chains. - Harden the platform. Improve secrets handling, IAM and least-privilege, dependency and supply-chain hygiene, and detection and logging for security-relevant events. - Secure custody and signing workflows. Review and harden transaction signing flows, MPC and HSM integrations, signer permissions, admin roles, approval policies, and break-glass procedures. - Contribute to product engineering. Pick up regular backlog work in TypeScript so you stay close to the codebase you are defending. - Support incidents. Help with detection, triage, response, and post-mortems, and feed the lessons back into the program. WHAT YOU BRING - An engineer first. You write and review production code comfortably, TypeScript and Node.js in our stack, and you understand systems deeply enough to break them. - Strong application and infrastructure security fundamentals. The OWASP-class vulnerability landscape, authn and authz, injection, SSRF, supply-chain risk, and secure design. You have done real offensive work in pentesting, vuln research, or red-team. - Applied cryptography and blockchain security. Symmetric and asymmetric primitives, hashing, signatures, and key management, plus the security model of EVM, Solana, and ideally TON or Tron. You can read a smart contract and reason about how it fails. - Ownership. You can take an ambiguous security item, an audit, a questionnaire, or an incident, and drive it to closure without being managed through it. - Clear communication. You can explain a risk to engineers, to a CISO, and to an auditor, and tailor the message to each. - An automation instinct. You do not want to catch the same issue manually twice, so you turn findings into tests, alerts, controls, documentation, or platform improvements. - Risk judgment. You can tell a theoretical issue from a material one, and communicate severity, likelihood, impact, and remediation tradeoffs clearly. Location: Remote Workplace: Remote About the role We're a crypto-native group of companies spanning market making, liquidity provision, on-chain trading infrastructure, and software development. We're expanding our accounting and nance team, and this person will work directly with the Head of Finance as a core part of that build out. You'll own the monthly close across multiple entities, keep our crypto subledgers accurate, handle billing and revenue tracking, and support compliance, tax and legal. What you'll do • Run the monthly close for several entities in QuickBooks Online, including bank and exchange reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany due to/due from tie-outs, and eliminations for the consolidated package. • Maintain our crypto subledgers, including importing and validating exchange and on-chain transaction data and reconciling balances back to source. • Reconcile trading and liquidity activity across CEX accounts, perp venues like Hyperliquid, and DeFi LP positions on Solana and EVM chains, and produce P&L and rollforward schedules. • Set up and maintain charts of accounts for new entities and business lines as they launch. • Prepare monthly retainer and revenue share invoices, and maintain the Excel trackers behind them (tiered fee logic, per-client billing bases). • Support entity structuring work across the group, including intercompany loans, capital contributions and distributions, and the accounting for related party transactions. • Help prepare annual filings and tax workpapers (BVI financial returns, federal tax memos, and supporting schedules for our outside CPA firm). • Assemble KYB packages, member and manager registers, and other documentation for banks, brokers and institutional partners. • Help maintain AML/OFAC program documentation and coordinate responses to regulatory and law enforcement records requests. • Support HR and payroll ops in Rippling, including deduction setups, payroll corrections and contractor tracking. • Build and maintain Excel and Google Sheets models: amortization schedules, loan workbooks, portfolio trackers and deal models. Job Scope: - Own the data platform roadmap - Define and deliver the product roadmap for our data platform — covering data ingestion, on-chain data parsing, metrics frameworks, data-as-a-service, and data asset management — turning scattered data capabilities into reusable platform products. - Build on-chain data capabilities - Lead multi-chain data ingestion and parsing (EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, Cosmos, etc.). Define standardized parsing logic for transactions, transfers, contract calls, and DeFi interactions. Drive the buildout of address labels, protocol labels, and transaction attribution. - Own token and market data - Own the selection and governance of token metadata, pricing, and liquidity data sources. Establish source priority, fallback, and cross-validation mechanisms across CEX, DEX, third-party aggregators, and in-house indexers. Be accountable for data accuracy, coverage, and latency. - Serve downstream consumers - Partner with business, growth, risk, and BI teams to package data capabilities into APIs, datasets, and self-serve analytics tools that cut the cost of getting answers. - Data quality and governance - Build monitoring, metric definition management, and incident response processes. Eliminate the "same metric, five definitions" problem. - Cross-functional execution - Work closely with data engineering, backend, algorithm, and BI teams on requirement breakdown, prioritization, and delivery. Requirements: - 5-8 years in product management, including 3+ years on data platforms, data infrastructure, or internal data products - Hands-on Web3 experience (wallet, exchange, L1/L2, data provider, DeFi protocol) with real understanding of the business and user behavior - Practical knowledge of on-chain data: blocks, transactions, event logs, internal transactions, and the differences between UTXO and account models; familiarity with the data structures and parsing challenges of major chains - Familiarity with the token data landscape — the strengths, limitations, and appropriate use cases of CoinGecko, CMC, Chainlink oracles, DEX pool pricing, and similar sources - Solid grasp of data warehouse layering (ODS/DWD/DWS/ADS), metrics frameworks, and event tracking design - Able to read and write SQL; can pull and validate data independently Nice to Have - Built a data platform from zero to one - Experience with Dune, The Graph, Nansen, Covalent, Etherscan APIs, or similar tooling - Working knowledge of Flink, Spark, ClickHouse, or Airflow — enough to hold a technical design discussion with engineers - Experience commercializing data products or running external data services ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a global and fully remote role.
