Location: San Francisco, California Workplace: Hybrid ABOUT SENTRY Software runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building. Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an experienced engineering leader to own one of the most critical areas within Platform: the runtime and stateful systems Sentry runs on. You'll lead multiple engineering teams and Staff engineers responsible for OLTP and OLAP databases, real-time compute and stream processing, blob storage, and distributed caching. These systems power Sentry's products, including Seer, and are mission-critical to the business. When they perform well, every product team moves faster. When they don't, the whole company feels the impact. You'll set the technical vision across these systems, lead significant architectural changes, and develop the engineering leaders and teams responsible for building and operating them. This role requires someone who brings deep technical judgment, thinks strategically, and has a track record of driving complex engineering initiatives from concept through execution. You'll have the opportunity to shape both the technical direction and organizational growth of a critical part of Sentry's platform as our products and infrastructure continue to evolve. This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an expectation of working from our San Francisco office three days per week. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL - Lead multiple engineering teams and Staff engineers responsible for the runtime and stateful systems supporting Sentry, Seer, and the products built on top of them. - Set the technical vision and strategy across multiple systems, identifying opportunities to evolve our architecture as the business scales. - Drive significant architectural changes and technical initiatives, making informed tradeoffs around scalability, reliability, performance, cost, and complexity. - Provide technical leadership across teams, working closely with senior engineers to evaluate architectural decisions, challenge assumptions, and establish technical direction. - Own the execution and operational excellence of mission-critical systems, ensuring teams deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing platform components. - Build and develop a strong engineering organization, including hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering managers and senior technical leaders. - Foster a culture of engineering excellence, technical accountability, and continuous improvement. - Partner across Platform, Infrastructure, and Product to align priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives. - Anticipate evolving product and infrastructure needs, identifying opportunities to build new platform capabilities and improve existing systems. YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB IF YOU - Enjoy solving complex distributed systems problems and have strong opinions about architecture, backed by experience and sound technical judgment. - Thrive in roles where you're equally responsible for technical direction, execution, and developing engineering leaders. - Like taking ownership of ambiguous technical challenges, establishing a clear strategy, and bringing teams together to execute. - Are passionate about building large-scale systems where reliability, performance, and efficiency directly impact the business. - Enjoy partnering with senior engineers, challenging technical assumptions, and helping teams make thoughtful architectural decisions. - Take pride in building high-performing teams, developing future leaders, and raising the engineering bar. - Want to shape the runtime foundation supporting Sentry's products and AI capabilities for years to come. QUALIFICATIONS - 12+ years of experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering, with significant experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems. - Director-level engineering management experience, or equivalent senior engineering leadership experience overseeing multiple teams at comparable scale and complexity. - Deep technical expertise in at least one of the following domains: - OLTP databases - OLAP databases - Real-time compute and stream processing - Blob/object storage - Distributed caching - Demonstrated experience driving significant architectural changes, including evaluating technical tradeoffs, establishing direction, and leading implementation. - Strong technical judgment and the ability to engage deeply in architectural discussions across multiple distributed systems domains. - Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives from strategy through execution, with measurable technical or business impact. - Experience hiring, developing, and leading engineering managers and senior technical talent. - Strong communication and organizational leadership skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts, influence senior stakeholders, and align teams around a shared strategy. - Experience operating mission-critical infrastructure with a strong understanding of reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency. The base salary range that Sentry reasonably expects to pay for this position is $300,000 to $450,000 USD, plus an annual performance bonus of up to 20% of base salary. A successful candidate’s actual base salary amount will be determined by a variety of relevant factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s work location, education, work and other relevant experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. A successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Sentry’s employee benefit plans/programs applicable to the candidate’s position (including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage). See Sentry Benefits https://sentry.io/careers/ for more details about the Company’s benefit plans/programs. Location: San Francisco, CA • New York, NY • United States Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us! You will be the first engineering manager for Growth Platform, and you’ll help shape its vision, starting with the Communications capability. Today, running a growth experiment requires engineering work, code rollouts, and manual coordination. We are creating a new Growth Platform team with two core missions: enable 10x more experiments at quality, and own the shared notification platform that powers all notifications and transactional emails across Figma. Together, these capabilities help teams experiment faster and deliver reliable, personalized communications to users across every Figma product. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States. What you’ll do at Figma: Build and lead the team: Hire the initial engineers for the Growth Platform’s first team. Set the team’s culture, operating rhythm, and engineering standards. Mentor engineers, create career growth opportunities, and help scale the organization as scope expands Build capabilities that unlock new experiments: This isn’t about building an experimentation platform—it’s about building the product capabilities (personalized messaging, self-service publishing, cross-system integrations) that make it dramatically easier for teams across Figma to run growth experiments without engineering bottlenecks Leverage AI to scale quality and speed: Explore and integrate AI-driven approaches—for brand consistency checks, visual quality validation, copy generation, and experiment governance—that allow experiment volume to grow without proportional growth in manual review Provide hands-on technical leadership: Guide architecture decisions, review system designs, and make build-vs-integrate choices Partner across the company: collaborate with Marketing to align on cross-channel messaging, partner with growth teams to identify platform capability needs, and work with product teams to ensure growth messaging improves rather than detracts from the end-user experience Shape the platform vision: Define what to build next based on adoption, impact, and what you learn from each phase. The roadmap will evolve as we learn—you’ll be central to how it evolves We'd love to hear from you if you have: 3+ years in engineering management, with a strong track record of building and shipping application platforms 7+ years of software engineering experience at the application or product tier Experience driving outsized impact from small changes—say, a UI layout change that lifted growth 20%—and energized by enabling such wins at 10x scale Demonstrate strategic insight to optimize impact for both longer and short term. Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, delivering continuous value while building toward a longer-term platform vision Track record of prioritizing by impact, leveraging existing assets to accelerate, and scaling through platform-level thinking Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product, design, and data While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have: Experience at a product-led growth company during a period of multi-product expansion Experience building platforms that enable non-engineering teams (marketing, design, content) to run experiments or publish content independently Background in personalization systems, recommendation engines, or ML-driven content selection Experience integrating with customer data platforms, marketing automation systems, or building user attribute services from product usage data Familiarity with using AI for quality assurance, brand consistency, or content governance at scale Experience with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) infrastructure At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. Pay Transparency Disclosure Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. Figma offers equity to employees, as well as a competitive package of additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage; retirement benefits with company contributions; parental leave and reproductive or family planning support; mental health and wellness benefits; and paid time off. Figma provides paid sick leave, holidays, and other leave benefits in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the requirements of the Washington Minimum Wage Act and related regulations. Exempt employees are eligible for employer‑provided paid flexible PTO in addition to flexible paid sick leave. PTO is subject to manager approval. Additional benefits may include company recharge days, cell phone and home internet reimbursements, and a number of lifestyle spending accounts. Figma also offers sales incentive compensation for most sales roles and an annual bonus plan for eligible non-sales roles. All compensation and benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and may be modified by Figma at any time, consistent with applicable law. Annual Base Salary Range: $258,000 — $376,000 USD At Figma we celebrate and support our differences. We know employing a team rich in diverse thoughts, experiences, and opinions allows our employees, our product and our community to flourish. Location: Anywhere; Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific (EMEA, APAC) Workplace: Remote ABOUT US Circle is building the world’s leading AI-powered, all-in-one platform for digital businesses. We make it possible for creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audience with engaging discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments — all in one place, all under their own brand. We’re proud to be a fully remote company of around 270 (and growing!) team members from 30+ countries around the world. We seek exceptional individuals around the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, create a meaningful impact in their own lives. We don't track hours, but we do manage for high expectations very closely. We collaborate across time zones, are highly async, and like to document a lot. Twice a year, we bring the whole company together in beautiful places around the world for our company offsites. So far, we’ve hosted offsites in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Italy, Ireland, and more, with still more to come! Check out our Careers https://careers.circle.so/ page for more about working at Circle. ABOUT THE ROLE The AI Quality engineering team at Circle owns the foundation for measuring, diagnosing, and improving the quality of Circle's AI-powered features. This team focuses on building the infrastructure to measure, diagnose, and improve production AI systems, rather than ML research or model training. We're looking for a Lead Engineer to help us build out the evaluation frameworks, observability tooling, and diagnostic infrastructure that tell us whether our AI Agents are working well, where to improve them, and how to make them faster and more cost-efficient. This is a hands-on player-coach role. You’ll also lead and manage the AI Quality engineering team, with an ambitious and growing roadmap. If you're excited about making AI systems work reliably, efficiently, and at scale, this is for you. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Build and own our evaluation infrastructure. Design the CI/CD pipelines, scorers, and datasets that tell us whether Circle's AI agents (planners, tool-callers, and sub-agents) are actually working, from a single tool call to a full multi-turn conversation. - Diagnose exactly where quality breaks down. Trace failures across the agent pipeline including plan creation vs. execution, tool selection, tool trajectory in complex areas like workflows, site builder, and analytics. Turn what you find into prototypes that solve the issue or identify priorities for AI core engineering can help. - Grow the datasets that make evaluation possible. Stand up annotation workflows and build out AI-generated and simulated conversations so we can cover more of the product faster than manual labeling alone. - Run structured experiments across prompts, models, and the agent harness. Evaluate new and open-source models against our production baseline, build the framework we use to decide when to shift models, and chase cost and latency wins through model swaps, caching, and routing by plan complexity. - Lead and grow the AI Quality engineering team. Set technical direction and manage day-to-day priorities, all while staying hands-on in the code yourself. - Partner closely with AI Core engineering. Work with the engineers building Circle's AI products so they have real confidence that their changes are actually improving quality, not just shipping. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL - 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software, ideally including LLM-powered agents that take real actions in a product. You've worked on complex, tool-using systems (multiple tools, planning or orchestration, sub-agents) not just simple, single-turn assistants, and you can walk us through something you shipped and how you knew it was actually working. - Comfortable in Ruby on Rails / Python or ready to pick them up quickly. Ruby on Rails is our production system and the foundation that Circle’s AI Agents are built on and proficiency in Python is a strong plus, especially for the data and evaluation side of the work. - Experience building evaluation or observability infrastructure for ML/AI systems. You've built eval pipelines, scorers, dashboards, or CI/CD for evals before and have experience with evaluation frameworks like Braintrust, LangSmith, or similar. - Experience designing datasets, annotation workflows, or labeling pipelines for ML/AI evaluation. You know how to turn raw examples into a dataset you can trust through human annotation, AI-generated data, or simulation. - Learn fast, experiment aggressively, and thrive in a highly dynamic environment. You’ll need to be comfortable running a lot of experiments and letting the results settle the argument, including the ones that don't work (which will be many of them in the beginning). - Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity. You’ll need to learn and pick up new technologies when projects require it. - Strong alignment with our company values https://circle.so/careers. - You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 https://magoosh.com/english-speaking/english-proficiency-levels-a-guide-to-determining-your-level/ / ILR Level 5 https://www.govtilr.org/. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Circle offers U.S.-benchmarked compensation globally, equity in the company with ongoing refresh grants, and 35 days of paid time off each year. We’re a remote-only team that comes together twice a year for company retreats in incredible destinations around the world. Alongside incredible flexibility and autonomy, we offer a benefits package that supports health, wellbeing, and professional growth.
