An overview of this role
As an Senior AI Engineer at GitLab, you'll help build the foundation for GitLab's transformation into an AI-first company. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise AI, you'll be a hands-on technical leader responsible for delivering internal AI-powered solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Building fast matters, but it's not enough on its own. This role starts with understanding the real problem: mapping how work moves across teams, tools, and handoffs, identifying the true constraint, and validating whether AI is the right solution before you begin development. From there, you'll take ownership from discovery through deployment, combining strong engineering skills with systems thinking and business understanding.
Your initial focus will span Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support, where you will embed AI solutions into key systems and workflows. This role offers the opportunity to shape how GitLab team members work, improve flow across the organization, and help advance our mission in a remote, asynchronous, and values-driven environment.
What you'll do
Diagnose business problems before building solutions. Map workflows, identify constraints, and confirm whether AI is the right intervention. Be prepared to say "this doesn't need AI" when that's the honest answer.
Own AI initiatives end-to-end, from stakeholder discovery and technical design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
Design, develop, and ship AI-powered solutions quickly, delivering working prototypes in days, not months, with a focus on practical outcomes and measurable business value.
Improve organizational flow by building solutions that reduce bottlenecks, shorten lead times, and increase throughput. Measure success using flow metrics alongside adoption and ROI.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems and workflows using APIs, orchestration tools, and modern AI platforms, including GitLab Duo Agent Platform, where appropriate. The right tool wins, whether that's custom code, a platform, or a well-crafted prompt.
Be Customer Zero: leverage and showcase GitLab's AI offerings wherever possible, feeding real-world usage insights back to R&D.
Partner closely with stakeholders across functions to understand the real constraints. Ask the right questions, bridge technical and non-technical perspectives, and align on outcomes before jumping to solutions.
Define and track success through business metrics, flow metrics, and feedback loops that make performance visible and actionable.
Contribute to technical direction by evaluating tools, documenting patterns, and creating reusable foundations that help the team scale its impact.
What you'll bring
A Technologist at Heart -
Genuinely invested in technology, the foundational and the cutting-edge in equal measure. You're as energised by a well-designed API integration as you are by the latest foundation model release. You reach for the simplest solution that solves the problem well, rather than forcing new technology when proven approaches would do. AI is a powerful part of your toolkit, but it sits on top of solid engineering fundamentals, not in place of them.
Competent, Confident Coding Skills -
You can build working solutions end-to-end, write clean and maintainable code, and debug effectively. Whether your skills were honed in a traditional engineering role, through building automations, or shipping side projects, what matters is that you can deliver production-quality work independently.
AI
& LLM
Technical Depth -
Strong proficiency in at least one modern scripting language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar) and a solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration patterns. Deep, practical experience with modern AI technologies, specifically: Prompt engineering as a core discipline: designing effective system prompts, managing context windows, structuring multi-turn interactions, evaluating output quality, and iterating systematically on prompt design.
Model selection and cost-performance trade-offs:
understanding when a smaller fine-tuned model outperforms a general-purpose large one, when RAG is the right architecture versus expanding the context window, and how to make principled decisions about capability versus cost.
Agentic architecture patterns:
tool use, multi-agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop designs, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and production-grade reliability patterns.Practical fluency across the LLM ecosystem: hands-on experience with models from Anthropic, OpenAI, open-source alternatives, and the judgment to know which to reach for and when.
AI Safety & Risk Awareness -
You think critically about how the solutions you build could be exploited, misused, or produce unintended consequences. You know how to design appropriate guardrails (input validation, output filtering, access controls, prompt injection defences, and data leakage prevention) and you treat these as first-class engineering concerns.
Systems Thinking & Diagnostic Rigour -
The ability to look at a complex process and see the constraint. Comfortable mapping how work flows end-to-end, identifying bottlenecks, and tracing problems to root causes before proposing solutions. You instinctively ask "what's actually blocking flow here?" before asking "what model should I use?"
Business System Expertise -
Familiarity with the landscape of enterprise business systems, CRM (Salesforce), marketing automation (Marketo), support platforms (Zendesk), integration and orchestration tools (Workato), AI platforms (Relevance AI), and enterprise search and knowledge tools (Glean). You don't need deep experience with all of these, but to understand what they do, how they fit together, and be willing to build with and across them. A strong understanding of enterprise data models and workflows is essential.
Broad Functional Understanding -
Ability to have meaningful conversations with stakeholders across diverse domains and quickly understand their unique needs.
End-to-End Ownership -
Track record of owning complex initiatives from discovery through delivery. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving to measurable outcomes independently.
Product Mindset -
Ability to scope MVPs, prioritise ruthlessly, and deliver iteratively. In addition, consider adoption, user experience, and business outcomes.
Preferred requirements
Experience with GitLab platform and CI/CD workflows
Background in consulting, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
Familiarity with value stream mapping, flow metrics, or Theory of Constraints thinking
Experience with low-code/no-code orchestration tools (n8n, Make, Workato) alongside custom development
Previous startup or high-growth company experience
Experience mentoring or leading technical projects with junior engineers
About the team
You will join the Enterprise Technology & AI team. We're the backbone of the organisation, driving transformation in how GitLab team members make decisions, operate at scale, and deliver results for our customers.
We believe the best AI solutions start with understanding the system, not the technology. We value people who think in constraints and flow, who build with conviction, and who never stop learning. We work in an all-remote, asynchronous setting, guided by GitLab's values of collaboration, results, efficiency, diversity, inclusion and belonging, iteration, and transparency.

About Provectus
Provectus is an AWS Premier Partner and an Anthropic Strategic Partner, working at the frontier of applied AI. We help enterprises turn Claude, agentic systems, and their own data into measurable business outcomes — through bespoke applications, managed services, and advisory engagements. With offices in North America, LATAM, and EMEA, we partner with clients worldwide.
Our work centers on two verticals — Financial Services & Insurance and Healthcare & Life Sciences — where we deploy five pre-built AI Blueprints: Submission Flow, Portfolio Lens, Asset Flow, Revenue Flow, and Evidence Lens. Each Blueprint rebuilds a critical business process front to back, shipped from working code and tuned to a client's specific book, regulators, and operating posture.
Our team holds 100+ AWS certifications, is Claude Code certified, and co-delivers Anthropic's Agentic SDLC program, Cowork Activation, and AI Blueprint engagements.
Where this role sits
You will work in a small, senior pod alongside an FDE and an FDX,
Forward Deployed Executives (FDX)
own the commercial relationship and the business outcome. Works alongside the client's leadership or C-suite level to move the client's KPIs.
Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE)
embed with a client, map the client workflow, identify the business problem underneath it, design and build a working AI solution, present to the client, and transfer the knowledge to the client's team. Owns technical direction of the whole solution.
Senior AI Engineer.
When an FDE comes back from the client with the business problem, you will help turn that into an agentic system that runs in production and will be responsible for evaluation, observability, and guardrails. You'll have real ownership of components and of the technical decisions inside them.
Requirements:
Mindset
Proactive and self-directed;
you push for clarity rather than waiting for a ticket
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership.
B2+ English, comfortable collaborating across distributed, multicultural teams.
Technical depth
5+ years in software or ML engineering, with production systems you were accountable for
.
Solid AI/ML foundations. You understand what the models do well enough to reason about failure modes.
Shipped to production LLM applications and agentic workflows — not demos, not POCs, not notebooks.
Agentic orchestration: multi-step workflows, graph-based orchestration, tool use, state management, and recovery from partial failure
Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI) and agent frameworks.
Experience building and optimizing RAG systems in production.
Strong engineering fundamentals. Full-stack mindset, comfortable across AI, backend development, and cloud infrastructure. Python and/or TypeScript proficiency; depth matters more than stack.
Dropped into an unfamiliar codebase, you're productive.
Hands-on AWS in production: Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, ECR, or similar. GCP or Azure is a plus.
Cloud-native delivery: containers, ECS or Kubernetes, IaC, and CI/CD applied to AI pipelines.
You evaluate. You have built or owned an eval suite for a non-deterministic system, and you can explain what you measured, how you produced ground truth, and what gated a release.
Model and agent monitoring, drift detection.
Cost and latency discipline: model tiering, caching, and the ability to say what a workload costs to run before it runs.
Hands-on production experience with the Claude ecosystem — Claude Code, CLAUDE.md, hooks, skills files. Spec-driven development — writing the intent, constraints, and acceptance criteria before you let an agent build — is a strong plus.
MCP: you can say why an agent would prefer it to a REST integration. Having authored a server is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Work in a pair with an FDE and an FDX.
Build and ship production GenAI systems into the customer’s environment (cloud-native data, LLM-based, and agentic AI solutions).
Build and optimize RAG systems for production use cases
Build the evaluation harness before you build the feature.
Write production code across the stack — AI, backend services, data pipelines. We choose tools to fit the customer.
Integrate AI components into backend services and RESTful APIs
Take systems to production on AWS (GCP or Azure where the customer requires it): containerised, CI/CD. Implement LLMOps and AgentOps practices: agent tracing, prompt and version management, cost and latency monitoring, regression testing, drift detection
Start from the blueprint, contribute to enablement and handover: clear documentation, runbooks, and pairing with the client engineers who will inherit the system. Feed reusable components and lessons back into the Provectus Blueprints
Participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions
Conduct model evaluation, improve failure modes you find, optimize model performance, efficiency, and reliability
Mentor junior and mid-level AI engineers, conduct code reviews and share knowledge across the team through documentation, presentations, and workshops.
Nice to Have:
Experience in one of the industries: financial services, insurance, healthcare.
Consulting, professional services, or other embedded customer-facing delivery.
AWS and Claude Code Certifications
A2A: you can explain agent-to-agent interoperability
CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Practical experience with one or more use cases from the following: NLP, LLMs, and Recommendation engines.
Experience in an additional language (Go, TypeScript, or Rust).
Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Kafkа
What We Offer:
The chance to shape how leading enterprises across LATAM, Europe, and North America adopt AI, from strategy through first deployment
A forward-deployed model working in small, senior teams alongside FDE and FDX
A growing AI delivery practice where you help build the tooling and frameworks, not just use them
Remote-friendly culture
Internal training programs with full support for Claude, AWS, and other professional certifications, conference attendance
Career growth; we actively develop our engineers
Access to the latest AI tools and premium subscriptions
Long-term B2B collaboration
Private medical insurance or a budget for your medical needs
Paid sick leave, vacation, and public holidays
Equipment and all the tech you need for comfortable, productive work
How we hire:
Intro conversation. The role, your background and aspirations, tech questions.
Technical interview with live engineering sessions. Real problems, your own editor, you may use an LLM assistant
HR Interview. Soft skills and expectations
HM interview. Tech questions; a live engine
Location: Mexico; Colombia; Argentina; Honduras; Panama; Costa Rica

At Linear, we're building the product development system for teams and agents. AI is fundamentally changing how software gets built, and we’re shaping the tools this new era requires.
Founded in 2019, Linear has become the platform of choice for more than 40,000 companies (including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp) to plan, build, and ship their products. Today, our team is distributed across North America, Europe, and Australia, and we’re continuing to grow internationally. What unites us is relentless focus, fast execution, and a deep care for software craftsmanship.
As Linear moves upmarket, the gap between deal close and successful enterprise rollout has become our most important surface area. We're hiring an Implementation Manager to own that gap. You will be the single point of accountability from signed contract through successful go-live, coordinating across CSM, Solutions Engineering, Customer Education, Sales, and the customer's own teams to make every enterprise rollout repeatable, on time, and high quality.
Location & work mode
Linear is a remote-first company, with optional co-working offices in San Francisco, New York, and London. This role is open to candidates based in North America. EST time zone is preferred for this position. We value deep focus and async collaboration, with intentional moments to connect in person through team off-sites, optional co-working, and occasional travel.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end implementation plans for enterprise customers: timeline, milestones, dependencies, risk, and stakeholder accountability
- Run the handoff from Sales at deal close in partnership with Customer Success and Solutions Engineering: validate services scope, timeline commitments, complexity signals, and migration readiness
- Coordinate workspace architecture, migration, and integration workstreams (SSO/SCIM, Slack, GitHub, Jira sync, custom integrations) across customer IT, Solutions Engineering, and engineering escalations

- Define and enforce the services engagement model so every enterprise deal has a clear scope, deliverables, and boundaries before kickoff
- Build the implementation playbook: turn each rollout into a documented, repeatable framework that scales with the business
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in implementation management, technical program management, or enterprise onboarding at a B2B SaaS company
- Track record managing multi-workstream, multi-stakeholder enterprise rollouts (1,000+ user deployments preferred)
- Deep fluency with structured project management: implementation plans, dependencies, owners, risk tracking
- Ability to coordinate technical and non-technical teams without owning the technical execution directly
- Strong executive communication: comfortable running a steering committee, delivering a VP-level status update, and working with a customer IT admin in the same day
- Experience defining and enforcing services scope: scoping engagements, setting expectations on hours and deliverables, and managing scope creep
- Bonus: familiarity with enterprise migration patterns, SSO/SCIM provisioning, integration configuration at scale, or experience working alongside Solutions Engineering or Professional Services
What we offer
We're a small, focused team that cares deeply about the quality of our work and the people we do it with. Here's what you can expect:
- Competitive salary and equity
- Employee-friendly equity terms including early exercise in the US and extended exercise windows
- Daily meal and coffee stipend on every workday
- Paid co-working space or desk
- Health coverage (based on country requirements)
- 5 weeks paid vacation, plus local statutory holidays
- 4 months paid parental leave
- Paid month off after 4 years & every 2 years thereafter
- Regular team events and off-sites
- Remote-first with no required commute

adjoe builds the technologies behind mobile apps growth and monetization. With our core product Playtime Arcade, we've become the global leader in rewarded advertising, an ad unit built on a simple premise: users earn real in-app rewards for engaging with new apps. The result is one of the most effective value exchanges in adtech, connecting advertisers and publishers with over 770 million users annually.
Architecting Intelligence to Optimize 200M+ Daily Decisions
As the intelligence core of our engineering organization, our Data Science team doesn't just deploy models, we engineer the fundamental decision engine that powers our platform. At a scale of 770 million users and 100,000+ predictions per second, we are solving a multi-objective optimization problem that balances user incentives, advertiser ROI, and long-term platform health in real time.
Our architecture is built on a 1PB+ behavioral data lake, providing the high-fidelity input necessary to train deep learning models that predict individual user engagement with precision. We aren't just optimizing clicks, we are dynamically calculating optimal reward structures to sustain a global value exchange.
Engineered for performance, our stack leverages Tensorflow and PyTorch for model training, NVIDIA Triton to achieve sub-100ms inference. We own the full ML lifecycle from high-level research and feature engineering to deployment and A/B experimentation. Here, you will find the autonomy, the data depth, and the massive scale required to solve the most complex optimization challenges in the adtech ecosystem.
The data infrastructure behind this runs at real scale: 2TB ingested in real time every day, 100+ Airflow jobs and data pipelines, and ML models handling p99 latency of 100ms across 100,000+ predictions per second. As a Data Engineer on this team – you'll be building and maintaining the infrastructure that makes them possible: the Feature Store, the data pipelines, the data quality systems, and the data architecture that data scientists depend on to move fast.
Your Mission & Who We Are Looking For:
- Data engineering at ML scale. You have 5+ years in data engineering on a modern stack, with proven experience handling systems that process several TB of data per day and thousands of events per second.
- Flink is your default for real-time. You have hands-on experience with Apache Flink for stateful stream processing and real-time feature computation. You'll translate Data Science requirements into high-performance streams, enable Data Scientists to contribute new features and implement features yourself when needed..
- Pipeline bottlenecks don't survive long around you. You know how to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in complex ETL jobs, whether handling high-volume batch processing or real-time streaming systems like Kafka. At adjoe, data velocity is critical: slow pipelines directly impact model freshness and prediction quality at sub-100ms inference.
- You think in layers, not tables. You move beyond raw data to design robust, multi-layered data architectures using dbt, and can reason confidently about storage formats, Data Lakehouse models, and what belongs where in a 1PB+ data lake. Familiarity with Medallion Architecture is a strong plus.
- The bridge between Data Science and Backend. You've worked closely with Data Scientists on online ML systems with low latency requirements, and understand what it takes to make experimental research production-ready. Strong Java required; Go or Python a plus.
- Owns quality, not just delivery. You implement data validation, monitoring, and governance processes in production, because in a system where model inputs directly drive advertiser ROI, data integrity isn't optional. Experience with Airflow, Kubeflow, AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes is a strong plus.
🌎 We welcome applications from talent worldwide and provide relocation support to Hamburg, Germany for those ready to join our team.
What’s in It for You?
At adjoe, you’re not here to just close JIRA tickets, you’re helping build the infrastructure behind one of the most impactful platforms in adtech. The systems you work on will reach hundreds of millions of users and power billions of decisions every day.
- Go Big. Own projects with impact on 770M users and push adtech boundaries.
- Move Fast. Ship solutions multiple times a day, learn from results, and keep momentum.
- Be Direct. Solve problems openly and collaborate across teams.
- Thrive Together. Grow with a diverse, global team of people from over 40 different countries that learn from each other.
- Have Fun. Celebrate wins, enjoy daily victories, and bring your energy.
We welcome applications from people who will contribute to the diversity of our company.
