ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
ABOUT MODAL DESIGN:
Modal is building the future of serverless computing, and the brand that carries that story is still taking shape. You’ll join Modal’s newly formed Brand team inside our design org as one of its first senior hires, working directly with the Director of Brand Design and Head of Design to build a brand developers recognize instantly and remember.
THE ROLE:
As a staff-level Brand Designer, you will have major influence over every brand surface: the marketing website, campaigns, events, editorial projects like the GPU Glossary https://modal.com/gpu-glossary and forthcoming publications, and out-of-home work as we scale into larger formats. You’ll also be a beacon to external agencies, representing Modal’s internal creative voice and making sure the work translates into a system we can actually build on. And as the studio grows, you’ll help set its craft standard, guiding and mentoring earlier-career designers and shaping how we critique, ship, and show work.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Define and evolve Modal’s visual identity across web, marketing, campaigns, and editorial, building a cohesive, distinctive system rather than one-off assets
- Lead concept and execution for brand campaigns across digital and out-of-home, from paid social to large-format outdoor, ensuring the work is consistent, distinctive, and built to perform
- Own branded experiences for events and GTM: environments, collateral, swag, and conference presence that feel unmistakably Modal
- Help codify the brand as it matures: design language, principles, and the rules that hold it together
- Mentor and critique the work of other designers, helping the studio’s output stay coherent and ambitious as it scales
- Move quickly without sacrificing quality
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 7+ years of brand design experience building brands for technically complex products (developer tools, infrastructure, or AI), and you know how to make something deeply technical feel compelling and clear
- You have high influence and low ego: you work well with others, share credit freely, and act as a force for positivity within the brand team
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional typography, color, composition, and a recognizable point of view
- You’ve designed brand systems that extend from identity to motion to web (the more the better)
- You can interpret and contribute to brand strategy
- You take ownership seriously: you drive work to completion, raise the quality bar, and build structures that let others do the same
- You have strong taste and the ability to defend it: you have opinions, back them up, and take feedback well

You will guide program maturity, scale the team's capabilities through AI-assisted tooling, reinforce operational excellence, and step in as incident manager during complex, high-severity events. Success in this role blends strong people leadership with technical depth and sound judgment. As part of the Security leadership team, you will shape response strategy, build effective cross-functional partnerships, and help protect a product trusted by millions.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Threat Operations.
How we’re using AI today
Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
• 5+ years in security incident response, with 2+ years as a people manager or technical leader supporting career development and performance management.
• Experience building or scaling incident response automation, tooling, or AI-assisted workflows (triage, enrichment, investigation), with sound judgment about where automation should and shouldn’t make decisions.
• Experience setting clear expectations, defining ownership, delegating work, and measuring outcomes.
• Experience managing high-pressure security incidents with clarity, structure, and calm.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native, SaaS, and identity-driven attack techniques and how to respond to them.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience breaking down strategic initiatives into projects, coordinating team sprints, and managing work across competing priorities.
• Passion for fostering psychological safety and stability in stressful environments.
Who you are:
• A people-first leader who prioritizes team development, psychological safety, and performance.
• A builder at heart, someone who thinks in systems and automation, not just case queues, and hires and develops engineers with that same instinct.
• Proactive in identifying gaps, inefficiencies, or operational risks and bringing forward actionable solutions, including where AI or automation can close them.
• Effective at driving alignment across teams with differing priorities and perspectives.
• Calm and decisive during high-pressure situations, with the judgment to prioritize effectively and make difficult tradeoffs.
• A clear and transparent communicator who can align teams with differing priorities, surface tradeoffs, and advocate for sound security decisions.
• Motivated by protecting people, data, and the business.
What you can expect:
• Build, lead, and develop a team of incident responders and security builders, setting clear expectations, creating meaningful ownership, and supporting growth.
• Delegate effectively based on team strengths, development goals, capacity, and operational needs while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
• Define and drive the security incident response roadmap and strategic priorities, including maturing agentic incident response, structured threat hunting, and insider risk investigations as sustained, scaled capabilities rather than one-time builds.
• Balance competing priorities across incident response, strategic initiatives, and team development; make tradeoffs clear and push back when timelines, approaches, or requests create unnecessary risk or unsustainable workload.
• Scale team capacity through AI-assisted tooling and automation, maintaining appropriate controls around human judgment, approval, auditability, and rollback.
• Oversee detection, triage, containment, remediation, and post-incident learning, serving as an escalation point and incident manager for complex or high-severity events.
• Partner with Detection Engineering, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Red Team and other teams to improve cross-functional processes and close detection or response gaps identified through investigations.
• Evolve playbooks, training, tabletop exercises, metrics, and reporting to strengthen operational readiness and program maturity.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, serving as the leadership escalation or incident manager during major or complex incidents.
• Track and report on incident trends, operational metrics, and program maturity, including the impact of automation and AI tooling on response time and coverage.

ABOUT DOCKER
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.
_______________________________________________________________________
The next wave of enterprise transformation is being built by the Global Systems Integrators and every one of them is racing to stand up AI transformation and AI governance practices for their clients. Docker's AI Governance strategy is the natural infrastructure layer underneath that motion, and we need a senior partner leader to make that connection real, commercially, at scale.
We're looking for a Principal, GSI & SI Partnerships to build and lead Docker's engagement with the world's largest consultancies and systems integrators; Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and others, as both a strategic force multiplier for our AI Governance narrative and a tactical revenue engine through co-sell.
This is a dual-altitude role. At one level, you are the executive relationship-holder who gets Docker a seat at the table inside GSI AI practices; shaping how they build, package, and go to market with AI transformation offerings. At the other, you are the operator who turns those relationships into pipeline: enabling sales teams, building joint plays, and driving deals to close. You will define how Docker becomes the trusted infrastructure partner GSIs build their AI consultancy motions on top of and how they make money doing it.
KEY STAKEHOLDERS & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
- Primary: CRO and Sales Leadership; Global Alliances Leadership; Partner Leadership Team
- Primary: Professional Services, Field Sales and Solutions Engineering teams (co-sell enablement and execution)
- Secondary: Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Ecosystem Marketing
- Secondary: Cloud & Channel Partnerships, Technology Alliances, Product Management
- External: Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and other GSIs/SIs including their AI/GenAI practice leadership, industry verticals, and delivery organizations
RESPONSIBILITIES
GSI Strategy & Executive Engagement
- Own Docker's global GSI/SI partnership strategy, prioritizing and sequencing engagement across Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and other top-tier consultancies.
- Build and sustain executive-level relationships with GSI AI/GenAI practice leaders, identifying where Docker's AI Governance capabilities plug directly into their existing AI transformation and consulting offerings.
- Develop the strategic narrative and business case that positions Docker as the infrastructure and governance layer GSIs need to de-risk and scale their clients' AI initiatives.
- Represent Docker in executive briefings, QBRs, and joint planning sessions with GSI leadership, establishing Docker as a preferred, differentiated partner rather than a vendor line item.
- Partner with Professional Services and field teams to both share appropriate service assets and build the service’s capabilities Docker needs in the partner ecosystem to serve our mutual customers.
Commercial Model & Monetization
- Design and articulate a clear "how GSIs make money with Docker" story, connecting Docker's AI Governance platform to GSI services revenue, delivery methodologies, and staffing models.
- Build joint solution offerings and packaged plays with GSIs that combine their advisory/delivery capability with Docker's platform, creating a repeatable, sellable motion for both sides.
- Negotiate and structure commercial frameworks (referral, resale, co-delivery) that align incentives and make Docker an attractive, profitable practice area for GSI partners. Align with Professional Services to build the service partner capacity needed to augment PS.
Tactical GTM & Co-Sell Execution
- Own end-to-end co-sell execution with GSI partners, from lead generation and account mapping through joint pursuit and deal closure.
- Partner directly with Docker's field sales organization to identify target accounts, build joint account plans, and drive GSI-sourced and GSI-influenced pipeline.
- Build the enablement infrastructure (playbooks, battlecards, training) that equips both Docker sellers and GSI teams to identify, position, and close joint opportunities.
- Establish a consistent cadence of joint pipeline reviews with GSI partners and internal sales leadership, ensuring strategic intent translates into closed revenue.
AI Governance Practice Integration
- Work closely with Product and Product Marketing to translate Docker's AI Governance framework (Containment, Curation, Control) into language and assets GSI practices can readily adopt into their own AI transformation offerings.
- Identify and prioritize the GSI industry verticals and use cases (e.g., regulated industries, agent-based transformation) where Docker's governance story creates the clearest differentiation and urgency.
- Partner with GSIs to co-develop points of view, joint IP, and reference architectures that embed Docker into their AI transformation methodology.
Team & Program Leadership
- Build out the GSI/SI partnership function as it scales — defining coverage models, hiring needs, and operating rhythms as engagement deepens across additional GSIs.
- Serve as a member of the Partner Leadership Team, contributing GSI/SI strategy and results to the broader partner ecosystem narrative.
- Report on GSI-sourced and GSI-influenced pipeline and revenue, practice development progress, and joint GTM plan execution to executive stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years in partnerships, alliances, or GTM leadership, with substantial direct experience building and running relationships with GSIs/SIs (Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or similar) at a B2B SaaS, infrastructure, or enterprise technology company. With strong existing network at the GSI senior exec level.
- Proven track record of building joint commercial models with GSIs and converting relationships into measurable co-sell pipeline and revenue.
- Experience navigating GSI internal structures, practice leadership, industry verticals, delivery organizations and knowing how to get a technology partner embedded into their offerings.
- Familiarity with AI/GenAI transformation programs, consulting delivery models, and how GSIs structure and monetize AI advisory and implementation work.
- Background in developer tools, cloud-native infrastructure, or AI/security ecosystems is a strong advantage.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Executive presence with the credibility to engage GSI practice leaders and partner C-suite as a peer.
- Dual fluency in strategy and execution, equally comfortable shaping a multi-year GSI strategy and running a weekly pipeline review with field sales.
- Strong commercial and deal-structuring acumen; able to design win-win economics that make Docker a priority practice for GSI partners.
- Skilled cross-functional operator, able to align Sales, Product, and Marketing behind a coherent GSI engagement motion.
- Data-driven: comfortable owning GSI-sourced/influenced pipeline reporting and practice development metrics.
- Excellent narrative and positioning skills, able to translate Docker's AI Governance story into language that resonates with consulting and advisory audiences.
LEADERSHIP & MINDSET
- A senior partner leader who has built a GSI/SI function from the ground up and knows how to earn a seat inside a consultancy's practice, not just a line on their partner list.
- Comfortable operating at the intersection of strategic influence and tactical deal execution, this is not a purely strategic or purely operational role.
- Global mindset, with the ability to prioritize and sequence engagement across a portfolio of GSIs and geographies.
- Genuinely energized by the opportunity to hitch Docker's AI Governance story to the world's largest AI transformation engines.
- Key Performance Indicators
- GSI-sourced and GSI-influenced pipeline and revenue growth
- Number and depth of active joint GTM motions with priority GSIs (Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and others)
- Executive relationship coverage and engagement depth across target GSI AI practices
- Joint offering/IP development milestones (co-branded solutions, reference architectures, playbooks)
- Field sales adoption and utilization of GSI co-sell enablement and plays
Docker does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

About the role:
Provectus is a
Premier AWS partner and an Anthropic Strategic Partner
at the forefront of applied AI, helping enterprises turn Claude, agentic systems, and their own data into measurable business outcomes through bespoke applications, managed services, and advisory engagements. With offices in North America, LATAM, and EMEA, we partner with clients worldwide and are obsessed with reimagining how they operate and compete.
Our work centers on two verticals —
Financial Services & Insurance and Healthcare & Life Sciences
— where we deploy five pre-built AI Blueprints: Submission Flow, Portfolio Lens, Asset Flow, Revenue Flow, and Evidence Lens. Each Blueprint rebuilds a critical business process front to back, shipped from working code and tuned to a client's specific book, regulators, and operating posture.
We embed engineers and leaders inside client operations as Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) and Forward Deployed Executives (FDX) — people who learn the work, ship the system, and own the outcome. Our team holds 100+ AWS certifications, is Claude Code certified, and co-delivers Anthropic's Agentic SDLC program, Cowork Activation, and AI Bluprints.
You will do the customer’s job before you automate it.
Most AI engagements fail the same way: someone gathers requirements, someone writes a PRD, and a team ships a workflow nobody uses. We think the requirements-gathering step is the bug. So we remove it.
A Forward Deployed AI Engineer at Provectus spends the first weeks of an engagement
in the operator’s seat
— as the underwriter, the analyst, the RCM specialist, the claims clinician, whoever actually does the work we’ve been asked to change. You do the job. You learn the constraints from the inside, the ones nobody writes down. Then you sit at a table with that operator and a Forward Deployed Executive and
rebuild the function from first principles
— and you are the one who builds it.
Three things define how you work:
Embedded, not engaged
. You are part of the customer’s team and inside their process — not a vendor running a project alongside it.
Real tasks, not scope
. You are not fenced into a siloed deliverable. You go where the operating problem is.
Autonomous
. Embedded is not staff-augmented. You own the method; nobody hands you a ticket.
You won’t start from zero.
Provectus builds industry blueprints
— working systems that have already shipped for a customer in your industry. Your engagement starts from that baseline, and what you learn in the field goes back into it. That loop is the difference between an outcome and an invoice.
You’ll be measured on whether the Business Unit’s number moved — not on hours, not on scope delivered.
This is a role for engineers who have led before — as a founder, a CTO, a staff engineer — and who want to stay in the code while owning the outcome. On most days you’ll be the most senior technical person in the room, and you’ll still be the one shipping.
Requirements:
8+ years building software
, a substantial share of it writing production code you were accountable for. You are hands-on today and intend to stay that way.
You will take the operator’s seat.
You are genuinely willing to spend weeks doing someone else’s job — claims processing, underwriting, revenue-cycle work — before you write a line of code. Engineers who need to stay in the IDE should not apply.
You learn domains fast.
Demonstrated ability to become conversant in an unfamiliar business function quickly enough to argue with the people who do it for a living.
Shipped GenAI/LLM systems to production
— not demos, not notebooks. You’ve handled the parts that get hard after the prototype works.
You evaluate.
You have built or owned an eval suite for a non-deterministic system, and you can explain what you measured and why.
Strong engineering fundamentals
— dropped into an unfamiliar codebase or language, you’re productive. Python and/or TypeScript proficiency; depth matters more than stack.
Cloud-native delivery on AWS
(GCP/Azure a plus): containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, CI/CD, and the operational reality of a system someone else inherits.
Credible with senior stakeholders
— you can hold a redesign conversation with a BU head and a scoping conversation with a CTO without losing either room.
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership.
Engagements start underspecified by design. Closing that gap is the job.
Solid AI/ML foundations
— you understand what the models do well enough to reason about failure modes, not just call the API.
Strong hands-on prodcution experience with
Claude Code/Cowork.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to have:
Prior experience as a
founder, CTO, or engineering leader
who has chosen to return to individual contribution.
Real depth in one of our blueprint industries:
financial services, insurance, healthcare, asset management
.
Consulting, professional services, or other embedded customer-facing delivery.
Data platform depth: data lakes, warehouses, streaming and real-time analytics, data mesh and data contracts, governance and data quality.
MLOps and classical ML: PyTorch, SageMaker, MLflow.
Fine-tuning, distillation, or inference/serving optimization.
Graph databases (Neo4j, AWS Neptune).
IaC depth: AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform.
Open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI.
What you’ll do:
Take the seat
Do the operator’s job for two to four weeks at the start of an engagement. Learn the function from inside, not from a requirements doc.
Reach working fluency in a new domain — insurance underwriting, healthcare revenue cycle, asset flow — in weeks, not quarters.
Sit with the operator and the Forward Deployed Executive and redesign the function from first principles. Discovery, user research, and PRD-writing collapse into one team that re-imagines its own job. You are all three roles.
Build
Ship production GenAI systems into the customer’s environment — LLM applications, agentic workflows, retrieval and structured-extraction pipelines, and the services around them. Running software, not recommendations.
Build the evaluation harness before you build the feature.
When the engagement is bound to a business KPI, “it looked good in testing” is not an answer. Define what working means, instrument it, and let the evals drive the design.
Write production code across the stack — backend services, data pipelines, and the AI layer. Python and TypeScript are our centre of gravity; we choose tools to fit the customer, not the résumé.
Take systems to production on AWS (GCP/Azure where the customer requires it): containerized, observable, and maintainable after we leave.
Start from the blueprint, and
feed the blueprint.
What you learn in the field becomes the baseline the next engagement starts from.
Own the outcome
Work in a pair with a Forward Deployed Executive who carries the Business Unit’s KPIs. Your work is measured against the same number.
Drive adoption. A system the BU routes around has not shipped. Change management is part of the engineering job here, not a phase after it.
Be credible with the customer’s engineers, their operators, and their executives — and be willing to disagree with all three.
Shape what we commit to before we commit to it. You’ll have the standing to do it, because you’re the one who will build it.
What We Offer:
Frontier delivery work across Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare
The chance to shape how leading enterprises adopt AI, from strategy through first deployment
A forward-deployed model working in small, senior teams alongside Principal Architects and Forward Deployed Engineers
A growing AI delivery practice where you help build the tooling and frameworks, not just use them
Remote-friendly culture
High-impact role with direct visibility to leadership.
Strong earning potential with performance-based bonuses.
Opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI and cloud solutions.
B2B contract model or full-time model.
Unlimited Vacation policy.
Generous health, vision, and dental insurance.
401(K) matching plan.
OTE range: up to $250k. The salary range is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, and alignment with market data.
How we hire:
Intro conversation
— the role, your background, what you want to be doing.
Two live engineering sessions.
Real problems, your own editor.
You may use an LLM assistant
(ChatGPT, Claude) — how you work now includes these tools.
Autocomplete/agentic coding tools are off
for these sessions.
The redesign session.
We hand you an unfamiliar business function and the constraints of the person who performs it. You have to understand the job well enough to rebuild it — then say what you’d build and how you’d know it worked. No LLMs for this one.
Team and practice conversation.

Secure Build builds and operates the infrastructure behind Docker's container builds. The team owns Docker Build Cloud and Docker Hub Automated Builds while developing the next generation of trusted build and CI capabilities. Its direction is to make Docker the trusted place CI runs: isolated execution, brokered access to secrets and networks, and verifiable evidence of what each build or test job did. The work spans Go services, container and build technology, cloud infrastructure, sandboxing and software supply-chain security, alongside the operational responsibility for production systems customers already depend on.
SCS Services builds the backend systems and product capabilities that help developers understand, secure and ship software with confidence. The team powers important parts of Docker Scout and Docker Hardened Images, including the services and workflows that turn supply-chain data into useful developer, customer and agent experiences. Its estate is deliberately polyglot, with Clojure and Go services, event-driven workflows, Kafka, legacy Datomic components and newer Spanner-backed services. It also supports the customer journey around discovering, assessing, subscribing to and managing hardened artefacts.
We are looking for one Engineering Manager to lead both teams. Together they sit at the centre of Docker's secure software supply-chain work: one creates trusted build outcomes, while the other turns build, artifact and dependency data into services and experiences used across Scout and Docker Hardened Images. This is a two-team leadership role with separate roadmaps, production responsibilities and technical domains. The teams should deliver independently, with explicit contracts and joined-up ownership where their services connect.
You will own the health, delivery and growth of both teams and make the trade-offs that keep them effective as a portfolio. You will not be expected to be the deepest expert in every language or domain. You will need enough technical breadth and current engineering judgement to engage credibly in designs, reviews and incidents across both teams, set direction with strong senior engineers, and recognise when the right answer is to create space for their expertise.
THE KIND OF PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate leads first. They are an experienced engineering manager who can inherit two capable teams, earn trust quickly and help each become a high-performing, value-delivering part of the wider Docker organisation. They are deliberate about where they spend their attention, protect both teams from becoming the second priority, and make portfolio trade-offs visible rather than allowing urgency, proximity or the loudest stakeholder to decide.
They stay close to the technical work without trying to own every technical decision. They can hold a substantive conversation about distributed backend systems, event and data pipelines, build and CI infrastructure, trust boundaries and production operations. They are active in design and review, useful during incidents and willing to get hands-on where that moves the work forward. The balance still tilts strongly to leadership, coaching, delivery and organisational judgement.
They care about security as a product and engineering property, not only as compliance. They understand how modern attacks exploit identity, secrets, dependencies and build systems, and they can reason about the evidence customers need to trust an artefact or workflow. They lead through judgement, clarity and unblocking rather than ceremony for its own sake. Above all, they grow the engineers around them and help both teams ship outcomes developers and enterprises can rely on.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Secure Build and SCS Services, owning delivery, team health, growth, performance and operational excellence across both.
- Turn two changing roadmaps into a coherent portfolio plan with explicit priorities, capacity and trade-offs, and create leadership coverage so neither team becomes the permanent second priority.
- Partner with Product to shape strategy and roadmaps for secure build, Docker Scout, Docker Hardened Images and the services that connect them.
- Stay close to the technical work through design and code review, incident response and selective hands-on contribution where it adds leverage.
- Ensure each team's technical direction supports product, security, reliability and customer priorities, setting it collaboratively with Staff and senior engineers while leaving clear decision ownership with them.
- Own the interfaces between the teams, including trust boundaries, contracts, data quality, versioning, operational ownership and customer-facing failure modes.
- Balance new product work with inherited systems and on-call, and invest in reliability improvements driven by recurring operational pain.
- Own engineer growth and performance, handle difficult conversations directly, hire and retain strong people and build succession depth within both teams.
- Align Product, Design, Security, DHI Content, Registry, Hub, sales, support, commercial and legal partners while shielding the teams from churn.
- Lead disciplined use of AI-assisted engineering and communicate decisions, risks and progress clearly across UK and US working hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams, with meaningful responsibility across more than one team or distinct technical domain.
- 8+ years of professional, hands-on software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, platform or developer tooling.
- Experience leading, growing and retaining engineers at or above your own technical seniority, including teams you did not build and difficult performance conversations.
- A leader-first operating model, with current enough technical judgement to participate in design and review across unfamiliar systems without needing to be the best engineer in the room.
- Experience prioritising across competing roadmaps, operational load and stakeholder commitments, with clear mechanisms for allocating attention and capacity.
- Strong backend and distributed-systems judgement, including APIs, event-driven architectures, data stores, cloud-native infrastructure and production operations.
- Understanding of CI or build-system internals, containers and artefact workflows, plus a strong interest in software supply-chain security and trust boundaries.
- Experience leading teams that operate production infrastructure through on-call, incident response, observability, SLOs and the work required to reduce recurring operational load.
- Strong product judgement and evidence of shaping roadmaps with Product rather than only receiving requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong cross-functional influence, customer closeness and comfort leading a remote-first organisation across European and US time zones.
Helpful, but Not Required
- Experience with Go, Clojure or both, and evidence of becoming effective across a polyglot estate.
- Experience with Kafka, Spanner, Datomic or comparable event-streaming and distributed-data systems.
- Experience with OCI, BuildKit, Buildx, GitHub Actions or comparable build and CI platforms.
- Experience with sandboxing, microVMs, untrusted workload execution or multi-tenant infrastructure.
- Experience with SLSA, in-toto, SBOMs, VEX, Sigstore, cosign, provenance, signing or vulnerability scanning.
- Experience evolving legacy systems while shipping new capability for developer tools, security products, regulated customers or software-agent workflows.
WHAT TO EXPECT
FIRST 30 DAYS
- Build relationships with every engineer and the Product partners for both teams before changing structure, process or roadmap.
- Understand Secure Build's product direction, production estate and on-call load, including Docker Build Cloud and Docker Hub Automated Builds.
- Understand the SCS Services products, customers, architecture and operational profile, and map the dependencies, trust boundaries and ownership lines between the teams.
FIRST 90 DAYS.
- Own a coherent portfolio plan with both teams and Product, including explicit capacity for roadmap, reliability and cross-team work.
- Establish a sustainable operating cadence and leadership coverage that prevents either team depending on your constant presence.
- Agree ownership and escalation paths for shared services and failures, start one material improvement in each team and make progress and risk visible.
ONE YEAR OUTLOOK
- Both teams deliver predictably against a portfolio that connects secure build, Scout and Docker Hardened Images outcomes without collapsing their distinct missions.
- Secure Build has delivered material trusted-build or secure-CI capability and reduced operational risk in its inherited production systems.
- SCS Services has delivered material customer outcomes, while both teams have sustainable on-call, clearer ownership and senior engineers leading broader work.
Docker considers visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis based on business needs.

About Scorewarrior
Scorewarrior is an independent game studio with a single mission: to excite and unite players all over the world. For over 10 years they've been pursuing it through Total Battle — a product they continue to actively and successfully grow. The team consists of 230 self-motivated professionals who know and love their craft, and the company has recently begun an active company-wide adoption of AI tools. Their home is a great office in Limassol, Cyprus. They offer a strong relocation package for you and your family, and put real effort into making life on the island genuinely varied and interesting.
Location & format:
Onsite — Limassol, Cyprus. Full relocation support provided.
The mission of this role:
This is a hands-on engineering role: you design and implement solutions yourself, working side by side with Infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams. Leadership experience is not required here and not expected.
Key objectives:
— Strengthen cloud and infrastructure security in practice: secrets management, audit logging and controlled production access.
— Close high-impact risks: start from an honest assessment of the current state and build a consistent picture of gaps and risks as you go.
— Work secure-by-default: wherever possible, remove the security burden from teams through automation and platform-level solutions rather than rules and manual procedures.
— Roll up your sleeves: dive into what Infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams are building right now, understand it from the inside, and make security part of it.
Job requirements:
— Real experience building platform and infrastructure security — you have designed and implemented security solutions yourself: not audited or monitored them, and you can walk us through the architecture, the decisions, and what you'd do differently.
— Cloud security as your core strength: Recent hands-on experience securing cloud environments.
— A strong infrastructure background. You may have grown entirely within security engineering or moved into security from DevOps, SRE, system administration, or network engineering. What matters is that your thinking is an engineer's thinking: architecture first, building over prescribing.
— The ability to explain risks with facts. You have real cases where you make technical teams see why a risk matters and why a change is needed through evidence, architecture, and concrete scenarios.
— AppSec, SIEM, and SOC experience are useful but secondary.
Nice to have:
— Infrastructure-as-Code in practice.
— Container and Kubernetes security experience.
— Scripting and automation as a habit: Python, Go, or Bash — you'd rather automate a control than write a procedure for humans to follow.
— GCP specifically. Their stack is GCP; deep experience with it will shorten your path to impact, though strong AWS/Azure experience translates well.
— Experience with securing AI tool usage.
Who this role is NOT for:
— Your current focus is on monitoring, alert triage and incident analysis.
— Your specialization is threat research, malware analysis, cryptography, or lab-style cybersecurity.
— Your recent work is mostly paper security: policies, compliance documents, and audits.
— You are looking for a management track or ownership of a security function right now — strategy and team building belong to the security leadership role they're hiring separately.
Why join Scorewarrior?
— 99% employee satisfaction, low turnover, and colleagues who genuinely enjoy collaborating.
— Live and work in sunny Cyprus with full relocation and visa support for you and your family.
— Shape a global hit: the only European studio with a 4X strategy title in the world’s top-10.
— Grow fast in a company that’s already strong, independent, financially rock-solid, and expanding at startup speed, with no layoffs.
— Flat structure, collective decision-making, and honest feedback create full transparency and help you grow fast.
— High salaries, a 13th month, performance bonuses, and extra rewards for long service, marriage, or welcoming a child, and lunch every day.
— Private family health insurance, plus a monthly allowance for children’s pre-school, school, and university education.
— Specialized training and certifications, language courses and books to support your growth.

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
Figma is building its founding Forward Deployed Engineering team to solve the complex, real-world challenges that emerge when bringing Figma’s products into large-scale enterprise environments and looking for founding Forward Deployed Engineers. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll embed directly with strategic customers, working across their codebases, design systems, developer environments, and workflows to make Figma’s products successful within their unique technical constraints. You’ll tackle the hardest adoption challenges hands-on, from complex frontend stacks and legacy systems to security and access requirements, while building trusted partnerships with customers’ senior engineering teams.
This is a senior/staff-level engineering role within Product and Engineering, not a sales or services function. You’ll work directly in customer environments when needed, using the minimum access required. Your goal is smooth adoption by the customer’s product and engineering teams, which means making complex workflows work simply in their environment and solving the underlying problems You’ll do that hands-on, often by writing Figma product code, then turn what you learn into a reusable path for future customers instead of taking permanent ownership of the customer’s codebase. Working closely with Figma’s Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Experience teams, you’ll help shape both the product and how this brand-new function works and scales. The role is highly collaborative, deeply customer-facing, and built for engineers who thrive in ambiguity, take end-to-end ownership, and want to solve the highest-impact problems at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer needs. This role includes periodic travel to work alongside strategic customers in person.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Make an enterprise design system agent-ready so AI tools generate faithful, on-system code: fix tokens, naming, and guidelines, wire up Code Connect, and run evals
Get Make Local, Code Layers, and our newest products working in a customer’s real environment, writing code, config, agent skills, and guideline files against their systems and ours
Run technical discovery: understand a customer's dev environment, toolchain, and constraints, then scope the fastest credible path to value, in addition to setting the customer up for long term success
Debug hard, unfamiliar integration problems (git workflows, CI, dev-environment setup, non-standard stacks)
Build LLM-powered workflows: MCP setup, agent skills, and prompt engineering tuned to each customer’s context
Turn one-off solutions into reusable playbooks and product feedback, so patterns you solve once become self-serve or shipped product
Bring learnings on friction back to Figma's Product and Engineering teams, influence what gets built next, and often build it
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
5+ years shipping production software end-to-end, with meaningful time embedded with customers or partner teams
Excellent customer-facing communication and technical partnership skills, with the ability to build trust with senior engineers and translate customer needs into actionable product and engineering solutions
Strong engineering fundamentals and adaptability, with the ability to quickly navigate unfamiliar codebases, languages, and technical environments to deliver production-ready solutions
Hands-on experience with design systems and design-to-code workflows, including component libraries, tokens, documentation, and the tooling that connects design artifacts to production code
Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python, including demonstrated fluency with agentic coding tools (e.g., MCP, agent orchestration). You have hands-on experience integrating APIs and SDKs, troubleshooting toolchains and CI environments, and navigating enterprise requirements such as SSO, security reviews, access controls, data residency, and compliance frameworks
Comfort owning ambiguous technical problems end to end, identifying patterns across customer engagements, and turning field learning into reusable product improvements
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
Background in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, professional services, developer experience, or a similar customer-facing technical role
Familiarity with developer tools, design-to-code workflows, or AI/LLM products, including tools such as Code Connect, Storybook, Style Dictionary, or comparable technologies
Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Experience, Solutions Architecture, or related teams to deliver complex enterprise engagements
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

We're looking for an executive communications manager to shape Figma's story and how our execs tell it. You’ll partner with leaders across the business to turn early ideas into clear, compelling points of view and build platforms that only they can credibly own. From there you'll work with our comms team and Figmates across the company to get those stories told in the spaces and places where they’ll have the most impact.
A lot of the work is writing: essays, keynotes, social posts and op-eds. The rest is strategy: figuring out which ideas are worth developing, which audience needs to hear them, how a story travels and what makes people excited to share it.
This is a new role reporting to our VP of Communications. The ideal candidate will write and speak with the same precision and clarity they’d expect from the execs they support. They’ll know how to make someone sound sharp in a 140-character post and credible in a 3,000-word essay. You’ll operate with low ego, high conviction and the curiosity to uncover stories people want to hear and that our execs want to tell.
This is a full-time role based in San Francisco or New York City hubs.
What you'll do at Figma:
Build the narrative framework executives across the business use to tell Figma's story, and their own
Work with our comms team on media strategy, and bring sound judgment to messaging and channel selection
Partner with (and occasionally spar) with executives to sharpen their ideas and the broader point of view behind them
Build the system and infrastructure this function needs to keep our executive storytelling consistent and differentiated
Find ways to measure impact and drive a culture of experimentation in our exec comms
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Extensive experience crafting narratives for senior executives across formats, channels and audiences
A track record of writing for C-suite executives with strong opinions and high standards
Executive presence, and a track record of influencing people who don't report to you
Media relations experience and sound judgment on press, messaging and reputation
Comfort with ambiguity, deep curiosity and a record of shipping strong work
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
A journalism or editorial background, with an instinct for what's newsworthy and how a story reads to an outside audience
Experience in tech, creative pursuits and/or product design and development
Strong business literacy and the ability to translate complex financial and technical topics for a broader audience
