At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure.
Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users.
Our platform is trusted by over 7 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $260M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development.
We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you.
APPLYING TO RENDER
We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.
We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed.
Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Render's mission is to eliminate the undifferentiated work that goes into building software products by offering an easy-to-use, powerful cloud platform for developer teams of all sizes.
We're looking for a software engineer to join our Access & Governance team and help build the next generation of security and governance experiences on Render. As AI agents become more prevalent and organizations scale on Render, you'll help shape how customers securely manage access, protect their applications, and maintain visibility and control over their infrastructure.
This is a product-focused engineering role where you'll solve complex platform challenges while building intuitive, customer-facing experiences that make security simple and accessible to developers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and ship customer-facing security and governance products, owning the experience end to end, from intuitive interfaces and APIs to the underlying backend systems.
- Build foundational platform capabilities that help developers, teams, services, and AI agents securely access and operate on Render.
- Tackle challenging engineering problems involving distributed systems, authorization, scalability, and reliability while keeping the customer experience simple.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to translate complex customer needs into elegant, impactful product experiences.
- Help evolve and operate critical platform systems, ensuring high standards for correctness, performance, observability, and safe rollouts.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years of experience shipping and operating production systems.
- Experience building and shipping customer-facing platform products, with a strong appreciation for intuitive UX, well-designed APIs, and end-to-end product ownership.
- Strong technical fundamentals and experience designing reliable, scalable systems, including navigating complex APIs, data models, and architectural tradeoffs.
- A product-minded approach to engineering, with the ability to balance technical complexity, customer experience, and business impact.
- A track record of driving ambiguous projects from concept to production while collaborating effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering.
We care more about the systems you've built and the decisions you made than whether your last role had a "security" title.
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Hands-on experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, JWTs or other authentication methods.
- Experience with multi-tenant authorization models such as RBAC, ABAC, or ReBAC, including policy engines or fine-grained authorization systems.
- Experience with workload identity, short-lived credentials, secrets management, privileged access, or security controls for services and agents.
- Experience building developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, identity product or SaaS products where APIs and backwards compatibility matter.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 and an ability to turn those requirements into security improvements for all customers.
- Contributions to open-source auth/security tooling.
If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need.
BENEFITS
- 4 weeks of paid vacation.
- 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return.
- Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans.
- 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs and HSAs are available as well.
- Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc.
- Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy.
- Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders.
- Continuous learning benefits & related support.

ABOUT AVOCA
Avoca is transforming how home service companies engage with their customers. Our AI-powered conversational agents handle every high-value inbound call, from booking jobs, qualifying leads, and driving higher revenue, all at a speed and consistency unmatched by human call centers.
We're a Series B startup backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, General Catalyst, and other top-tier investors, with $125M raised and a $1B valuation. We grew 10x in 2025 and have scaled to 170+ employees in under two years across our NYC headquarters and Santa Barbara office.
In a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors, we're building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement, serving the largest brands in home services. With high-energy, in-office teams in both locations, every hire here has an immediate and visible impact.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Technical Recruiter to own full-cycle hiring for our Engineering and Product teams. You'll partner directly with hiring managers and leadership to build the technical bench that powers Avoca's next stage of growth. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role at a company scaling fast — you'll help define our technical hiring bar, build repeatable processes from the ground up, and close candidates in a competitive market.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (software engineering and technical product roles) from sourcing through offer close.
- Partner closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to define role requirements, calibrate interview loops, and build scorecards.
- Proactively source and build pipelines of top-tier technical talent through outbound sourcing, referrals, and creative channels — not just inbound applicants.
- Act as a trusted advisor to candidates, clearly articulating Avoca's mission, momentum, and opportunity to win top talent against competing offers.
- Drive a fast, high-quality candidate experience end-to-end, including screening, coordinating interviews, and managing offer negotiations.
- Build and refine scalable recruiting processes, tools, and metrics as Avoca continues to grow headcount rapidly.
- Use data to track pipeline health, funnel conversion, and time-to-fill, and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Represent Avoca's employer brand across sourcing channels, networking events, and the broader technical community.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience - ideally at high-growth startups.
- Proven track record hiring software engineers, ML/AI talent, or similar technical roles at a fast-scaling company.
- Strong sourcing chops — you know how to find and engage passive candidates, not just manage inbound.
- Excellent judgment in assessing technical talent and partnering with engineering leaders on hiring decisions.
- A sense of urgency and ownership; you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift quickly.
- Sharp communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to sell candidates on Avoca's mission and trajectory.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and building process where none exists yet.
- A bias toward action and in-person collaboration — this is an in-office role at our NYC headquarters.
- Familiarity with modern sourcing and ATS tooling (e.g., Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox).
BENEFITS
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell
- Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays
- Company-wide off-sites
- Monthly wellness stipend
- Daily in-office lunch through Parkday
- Dinner covered when working late
- Commuter benefits and late-night rideshare
- Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request
- All core tools and software provided
Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is $130,000 - $190,000, with final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Avoca's total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of benefits. Our Recruiting team will share full details as you progress through the process.
WHY AVOCA
At Avoca, you’ll be part of a team that’s building a category-defining company at the center of a massive market opportunity. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team with a culture designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and impact.
Avoca provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, IT, and Security teams to provide architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is incorporated early into design decisions.

- Translate regulatory and compliance requirements—including HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST frameworks—into practical engineering guidance and architectural controls.
- Mentor engineers and security team members on secure design principles, helping raise the organization's overall security maturity through collaboration, education, and trusted technical leadership.
- Produce clear architectural documentation, technical standards, design reviews, and implementation guidance that can be consistently applied across engineering teams.
- Partner with Security leadership to define the long-term vision, operating model, roadmap, and success metrics for Security Architecture as a strategic capability within the Information Security organization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering and business leaders, balancing security, operational efficiency, and business objectives while promoting a secure-by-design culture across WHOOP.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8–12+ years of experience in security architecture, application security, cloud security, infrastructure security, or senior security engineering roles supporting modern distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience designing and securing cloud-native applications and infrastructure, with deep knowledge of AWS security services and modern cloud architecture.
- Strong understanding of application security, secure software development, infrastructure security, cloud security, API security, identity and access management, enterprise networking, and modern security architecture principles.
- Previous software engineering or application development experience with the ability to understand application design, architecture, implementation tradeoffs, and engineering workflows.
- Experience performing architecture reviews, security design assessments, and threat modeling for complex distributed systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare, regulated environments, or security programs supporting HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST 800-53, or similar regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to balance security requirements with business objectives and provide practical, risk-based recommendations that engineering teams can successfully implement.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to build trust, influence technical decisions, and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, IT, and security organizations.
- A collaborative, approachable, and service-oriented mindset with the ability to establish strong working relationships across teams and become a trusted partner to engineers and technical leaders.
- Comfortable working independently while helping establish new security processes, standards, governance models, and architectural practices in a growing organization.
- High integrity, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to solving complex security challenges.
- Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, GIAC, TOGAF, or equivalent are considered a plus.

About the role:
At Provectus, you don’t prototype in a sandbox and hand a client a slide deck. You embed inside a bank, an insurer, or a health system, learn the work, and ship a Claude + AWS system into their real, regulated production — then you watch the business number move.
We’re an
Anthropic and AWS Partner
with 150+ certified architects. That means the newest models, real budgets, and problems that matter — without the layers, politics, and years-to-impact of a hundred-thousand-person firm. 350+ builders, 100+ customers in production, founder-led since 2010, offices across North America, LATAM, and EMEA.
Why Provectus
Frontier access
— Anthropic Preferred Partner: newest Claude models, real budgets, real problems
Real tasks (not scope), real deployment.
You go where the operating problem is and ship production code to real users, not slide decks that sit in a drive
Embedded, not engaged.
You are part of the customer’s team and inside their process — not a vendor running a project alongside it. Embedded is not staff-augmented
Autonomous.
You own the work from framing through to production, visible to clients and founders. You own the method; nobody hands you a ticket
Your experience stays portable.
Every engagement is a new problem, often in a new industry, so your skills compound instead of narrowing to one product. No legacy-maintenance grind, not a single stack
Craft & growth
— build beside senior FDEs on a Claude-certified team; a real platform (talks, OSS) to grow your name
We give you a stage:
Claude certification, conference talks, open-source contributions, published work under your own name
What You’ll Do:
Spend the first weeks of each engagement in the operator’s seat, learning the constraints from the inside, then rebuild the function from first principles alongside the client and a Forward Deployed Executive — and you are the one who builds it
Be part of the customer’s team, inside their process; work on real tasks, not scoped deliverables, and own the method autonomously
You won’t start from zero. Provectus builds industry Blueprints — working systems that have already shipped for a customer in your industry. Your engagement starts from that baseline, and what you learn in the field goes back into it
Deliver across Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare
Help shape how leading enterprises adopt AI, from strategy through first deployment; help build the tooling and frameworks of a growing AI delivery practice
What We Look For:
Typically 7+ years building software, a substantial share of it writing production code you were accountable for. You are hands-on today and intend to stay that way
Genuinely willing to spend time understanding someone else’s job before writing code; demonstrated ability to become conversant in an unfamiliar business function quickly
Shipped GenAI/LLM systems to production — not demos, not notebooks. You’ve handled the parts that get hard after the prototype works
You evaluate. You have built or owned an eval suite for a non-deterministic system, and you can explain what you measured and why
Strong engineering fundamentals — dropped into an unfamiliar codebase or language, you’re productive. Python and/or TypeScript proficiency; depth matters more than stack
Cloud-native delivery on AWS (GCP/Azure a plus), including the operational reality of a system someone else inherits
Pre-sales experience. Credible with senior stakeholders — you can hold a redesign conversation with a BU head and a scoping conversation with a CTO without losing either room
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership. Engagements start underspecified by design. Closing that gap is the job
Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork (skills, workflows, MCP, integrations, connectors, custom harnesses)
Nice to have:
Containers and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS) and CI/CD in production
IaC depth: AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform
Open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI
What We Offer:
Full-time employment
On-site visits to clients’ facilities and our office in NYC 1/week
Unlimited Vacation policy
Generous health, vision, and dental insurance
401(K) matching plan
Base salary $180k–$200k + bonuses; OTE up to $250k. The salary range is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, and alignment with market data
No Visa sponsorship
How We Hire:
Recruitment interview.
Tech interview with our FDE (30 min).
A live engineering building session (1.5 hours). We hand you a business function and the constraints. You have to understand the job and rebuild it — then say what you’d build and how you’d know it worked.
Use AI the way you normally would; we expect AI-generated code. What we look at is how you used AI, the judgment behind your choices, and what you researched beyond what any LLM already knows.
4. Soft skills interview.
5. Offer discussion.
We’re real:
A person reads your application.
We filter out AI-generated and fraudulent submissions automatically. Every application that clears that filter is read by someone on our team
We may ask for a quick ID verification.
Fraudulent applications are common, and this protects real candidates
You’ll meet the people you’d work with.
We host AI engineering events in New York and San Francisco. We'd be happy to talk in person. Your interviews are with Pavel Borobov, Solutions Architect, and Stepan Pushkarev, Co-Founder & CEO
Location: New York; Massachusetts; Washington DC-Baltimore Area; Pennsylvania
Workplace: remote
About the role:
We’re an
Anthropic and AWS Partner
with 150+ certified architects.
