We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science.
We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won’t solve the world’s hardest problems – robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world.
World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached.
Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you.
*Titles posted to our careers page are updated regularly to best advertise the role and expected seniority, but internally we have a flat titling system with two types of titles: one for individual contributors and one for people managers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
*Open to hiring remote across the US — we also have offices in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, London, Paris, and Tel Aviv.
Runway is rapidly building the leading ecosystem of generative models, bringing the best models from AI labs around the world to our users alongside our own. We are looking for an IC to source, activate, and scale relationships across Runway's growing portfolio of model partners. About Huzzle Labs
Huzzle Labs partners with frontier AI labs to evaluate and improve frontier models through deep human expertise. Contributors directly assess advanced AI systems in their specialist fields, receive competitive compensation, and help define the standards used to measure model performance.
About the Role
Huzzle Labs is seeking experienced accountants to write realistic accounting tasks that test how well frontier AI systems handle accounting work. You will create prompts that are difficult enough for a frontier model to fail, then write a scoring rubric for each task so reviewers can assess the output consistently. A rubric is a list of objective, checkable criteria that a reviewer marks pass or fail. Your judgement helps define the standards used to measure model performance.
This is an expert judgement role focused on realistic task design, careful review of model output and precise, consistent documentation. Training is provided. Prior AI training or data-annotation experience is required.
Responsibilities
Write realistic accounting tasks: Create requests of the kind a client, controller or business owner would send, covering month-end close, bank and credit card reconciliations, AR/AP ageing, accruals and adjusting entries, sales tax, job costing and the clean-up of incomplete or inconsistent books.
Build from real material: Review a deal room containing hundreds of files, select the relevant documents and use them to develop prompts and rubrics for tasks a frontier model struggles to complete correctly.
Require usable deliverables: Each request should call for a working output, usually a spreadsheet, a journal entry schedule or a short memo.
Test against a frontier model: Run each request and review the output with the care you would apply when signing off accounting work. Where the model succeeds, increase the difficulty until a genuine gap appears.
Write scoring rubrics: Define objective criteria that another reviewer can apply without repeating your work, for example, “the reconciled ending balance equals $X” and “the $X deposit is recorded as a customer deposit liability, not revenue.”
Apply guidelines consistently: Follow the task and rubric guidelines, flag ambiguous cases and help refine the criteria.
Requirements
At least 5 years in accounting, bookkeeping or finance operations.
Prior AI training or data-annotation experience is required.
Hands-on knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, AR/AP, accruals and adjusting entries, sales tax and job costing.
Excellent written English and precision with numbers.
Careful and detail-oriented: accurate figures and objective, checkable criteria.
Available 20 to 40 hours per week for an initial one-week trial, with potential extension.
Example Assignment
For a client deal room covering a small business with incomplete and inconsistent books, you would:
Review the files and select the relevant documents, such as bank statements, ledgers, invoices and ageing reports.
Write a prompt as the business owner or controller would, asking for a reconciliation and the adjusting entries needed to close the month.
Run the prompt against a frontier AI model and check the spreadsheet or journal entry schedule line by line.
If the model completes the task correctly, increase the difficulty, for example, by adding a customer deposit, a timing difference or a sales tax complication, until it fails.
Write the rubric, such as “the reconciled ending balance equals $X” and “the $X deposit is recorded as a customer deposit liability, not revenue,” so another reviewer can grade any answer without repeating the work.
Confidentiality
An NDA must be signed before the engagement begins.

Location: Valencia
Workplace: OnSite
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Software Engineer, Simulation and Modeling
- Location: Valencia
- Reports to: Reports to: Laboratory Lead & Test Architect
- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
As a Software Engineer, Simulation and Modeling, you’ll build the software world the satellites live in (orbits, emitters, signals, truth and scoring) so the whole team can ask “what if” and get a number back. ICEYE is building a space-based RF constellation covering 100 MHz to 30 GHz alongside its SAR fleet, and the Experimentation Lab in Valencia is where we develop, simulate and validate that capability.
Customers and our own engineers ask questions we currently answer by hand-waving: what revisit a cluster gives over an area, how many emitters we detect in a crowded scene, how geolocation accuracy moves with cluster spacing or timing error, and what a next-generation architecture choice buys. The answers need a simulation framework that models the constellation and the emitters end to end, generates the signals each satellite would see, and scores what comes out against a known truth. It doesn’t exist yet. You’ll build it, and it will become a tool used by engineers, analysts and customer-facing staff.
You’ll work daily with the lab, signal processing and ground segment teams, and you’ll have direct influence on how ICEYE builds and proves this capability.
WHO WE ARE
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Model the constellation: orbit propagation, cluster geometry, attitude and pointing, antenna beams, access and contact windows, with spacing and timing as swept variables.
- Model the emitters and the theatre: emitters as state machines with real antenna patterns, scan behaviour, modes and duty cycles, placed at order-of-battle density. Start from the lab’s real captures and extend synthetically.
- Generate the signals: propagation and link modelling (path loss, delay, Doppler, ionosphere in the low band) and synthetic I/Q per satellite, at a fidelity the RF hardware and the processing chain can consume.
- Own the truth together with the processing team: a truth ledger of every simulated emission, position and time, kept out of reach of the system under test, plus the association and scoring that turn a run into detection rate, false-alarm rate, geolocation accuracy and latency.
- Drive the hardware together with the RF team: provide the geometry and timing the channel simulator and playback hardware need, so a recorded radar can be heard by three simulated satellites with the right delays and Doppler.
- Make it a platform: versioned scenarios, seeded and reproducible runs, provenance on every result, tests, CI, documentation and an interface that non-authors can use.
- Answer real questions: capacity, revisit and performance studies for the payload, product and sales teams, and architecture trades for future generations.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must haves:
- Strong software engineering in Python (and ideally a compiled language): clean architecture, version control, testing, code review, packaging
- Experience building a simulation or model of a physical system that others used, and validating it against measurement or real data
- Numerical and scientific computing: NumPy/SciPy or equivalent, vectorisation, performance awareness
- Working knowledge of at least one of orbital mechanics and access computation, RF link budgets and propagation, or signal processing
- Habits that make results reproducible: seeds, configuration management, data provenance
- Clear written and spoken English
Nice to haves:
- Constellation, mission or system-level modeling and simulation (STK, Orekit, GMAT, Basilisk or in-house)
- Radar, EW or emitter modeling; scenario or order-of-battle generation
- TDOA/FDOA/AoA geolocation or estimation theory
- Synthetic I/Q generation, GPU acceleration, or real-time and hardware-in-the-loop interfaces
- Cloud-native deployment, containers, workflow orchestration, and data stores for large runs
- A simulation framework of yours that outlived your involvement in it
- Eligibility for national security clearance (an advantage)
What success looks like:
- 6 months: a first end-to-end scenario (cluster geometry, a handful of emitters, synthetic I/Q per satellite, truth logged, a first score) is used to answer at least one real capacity or performance question.
- 12 months: a reproducible, documented framework runs without you on the team; geometry drives the RF channel simulator; real captures enter scenarios alongside synthetic emitters.
- 24 months: the simulation is part of the end-to-end loop with the flatsat and ground pipeline, runs in regression, and backs performance numbers we put in front of customers.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Notion has been at the cutting edge of AI since before ChatGPT launched. The job of the Model Capabilities team is to keep us there. We own the model layer of Notion AI: integrating frontier models as they ship, keeping inference reliable and economical at scale, and building new capabilities that other teams take advantage of.
This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Bring new frontier models into production quickly, making them available for our users and our engineers.
- Make inference reliable: better error categorization, self-healing retries, and cross-provider failover.
- Own observability for the model layer, driving down both time to detection and time to fix.
- Build new model-level capabilities and help product teams adopt them.
- Act as connective tissue across Notion's AI teams: find the gaps, unblock people, and make sure fixes land with the right owner.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Comfort with a moving frontier: The model landscape changes monthly. You keep up with it, form your own view of what's real, and stay pragmatic about what's worth adopting now.
- AI fluency as a practitioner: You use AI tools seriously in your own work and have opinions about where they help and where they don't.
- Production AI systems experience: You've built and operated systems on top of LLM APIs, not just prototyped with them. You understand token economics, streaming, tool calling, context limits, and how each of these fails in production.
- Measurement before conviction: You don't ship a prompt or model change on vibes. You define what "better" means, build or use the evaluation to test it, and are willing to be proven wrong by your own data.
- Cost and performance instincts: You treat latency and dollars as product qualities, not afterthoughts, and you can reason about the tradeoff between them and output quality.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $255,000 – $300,000 per year.
By clicking “Submit Application”, I understand and agree that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process my information in accordance with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy https://notion.notion.site/Notion-Global-Recruiting-Privacy-Policy-fc3eb4e829354a26a2bb6fd5e289b550?pvs=74 and NYLL 144 https://notion.notion.site/Ashby-AI-Bias-Audit-2b0efdeead05803bbbfae159ec86c528.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
