Role Overview
The Strategic WFM Analyst sits in the Core Workforce Management (WFM) Planning & Operations Strategy team and is responsible for owning centralized forecasting, capacity planning, workforce cost optimization, and strategic headcount trade-offs across all lines of business (LOBs).
This role is a high-judgment governance function that moves beyond traditional scheduling and intraday monitoring.
It translates complex demand forecasts into defensible FTE, BPO, and overtime spend strategies, models capacity risks, and aligns executive stakeholders across Finance, Product, and Operations.
You should be exceptionally strong in WFM maths and financial analytics, exhibit deep strategic curiosity, navigate messy raw data effortlessly, and communicate recommendations with executive-level clarity.
What You'll Do:
— Translate multi-LOB demand forecasts into monthly and quarterly capacity, headcount, and budget requirements.
— Model workforce and financial trade-offs across internal FTEs, BPO partners, overtime spend, bonus hours, productivity shifts, and shrinkage.
— Analyze demand-funnel changes (e.g., product feature rollouts, AI bot deflection shifts) and quantify their exact capacity and dollar impact.
— Partner directly with Finance, Product, and Operations to validate baseline assumptions, enforce input SLAs, and align on staffing commitments.
— Draft concise, decision-ready executive memos and Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) for Directors and leadership.
— Conduct deep-dive root-cause analyses whenever operational actuals deviate from capacity plans, and establish corrective action paths.
— Standardize capacity planning frameworks, modeling templates, and operating standards across LOBs.
— Maintain deep forecasting competency to audit models, challenge underlying assumptions, and provide seamless coverage across the broader central WFM engine.
What We're Looking For:
— Strategic WFM Maths: Exceptionally strong quantitative background with deep expertise in WFM fundamentals (capacity modelling, Erlang, shrinkage, AHT, SLA/ASA trade-offs) and advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, SQL, or Python.
— Business & Financial Judgement: Demonstrated ability to connect operational queue dynamics directly to dollar exposure, hiring velocity, BPO costs, and SLA risk.
— Executive Communication: Superior strategic writing skills with a natural instinct to distil complex, multi-variable workforce analytics into scannable, 1-2 page decision memos.
— Cross-Functional Influence: Proven ability to establish governance frameworks, challenge bad assumptions with back-tested data, and align Finance, Product, and Operations leadership without formal authority.
— Blank-Page Ownership: High comfort operating in ambiguous environments with incomplete data, isolating what materially matters without requiring step-by-step direction.
WFM Analyst Profile:
Strong core WFM domain expertise with a strategic/Ops spike.
This is not a generalist role and not a passive, traditional scheduler role.

About the Team
At Wolt, we’re building technology that makes life in local neighborhoods simpler. Wolt Market is our online grocery business, bringing customers a curated range of everyday essentials quickly and reliably.
The Category Team shapes the assortment, promotions and supplier collaboration behind that experience. As a Category Specialist, you will be the operational backbone of the team ensuring promotional plans, data, communication and follow-ups move accurately and on time.
You'll receive guidance and support from experienced colleagues while taking ownership of your daily responsibilities and contributing to the commercial success of Wolt Market Serbia.
What you’ll be doing
This is a hands-on coordination role at the centre of the Category Team. You will work closely with Category Managers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep commercial activities organised, accurately documented and delivered on schedule.
Day-to-day in this role you’ll:
Analyse category, product and promotional performance, preparing reports and insights to improve sales, profitability and assortment.
Support new product listings and maintain accurate supplier and product information across stores.
Support Category Managers in preparing supplier negotiations, following up on agreed actions and implementing commercial plans.
Coordinate promotional plans with suppliers and internal teams, ensuring accurate details and timely campaign launches.
Implement pricing updates, campaigns and category projects, keeping trackers and timelines up to date.
Collaborate with inventory management, marketing, finance and retail systems teams to resolve issues and support business growth.
Improve daily processes through reporting tools, automation and AI to reduce manual work and increase accuracy and efficiency.
Our humble expectations*
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive team player who enjoys working in a fast-moving e-commerce environment.
A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business or a related field.
1-3 years experience in category management, commercial support or coordination within retail, e-commerce or FMCG.
Strong analytical skills and intermediate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to turn data into practical insights.
A commercial mindset and an understanding of how assortment, pricing and promotions influence sales and profitability.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Clear and professional communication skills in Serbian and English, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Confidence using presentation tools, business systems and reporting tools, along with a willingness to explore AI and automation.
A collaborative, proactive and hands-on approach, with the motivation to learn and grow in a commercial role.
What we offer
You’ll gain broad exposure to the commercial engine of a fast-growing online grocery business and work closely with Category Managers, suppliers and cross-functional teams. This role offers a strong foundation to build commercial, analytical and operational skills while helping shape more efficient ways of working through data, systems and AI.

Metabase is the easiest way for people to get insights from their data, from tiny startups who get up and running quickly to major corporations with tens of thousands of users. That's why people love us.
We bring data tools with the elegance and simplicity of consumer products to the crufty world of enterprise business intelligence. We provide an opinionated open source starting point for how companies should measure, analyze and share their data, which is used by tens of thousands of companies.
About the role
Our Finance & Analytics team owns the authoritative view of Metabase's business performance, and the opinionated read on what's driving it. Internally, this is used to drive decisions; externally, this is used to meet our obligations to investors, auditors, and tax authorities.
We’re looking for a quantitative-minded generalist to lead a portfolio of analytical projects across the business and own an area of finance operations. Your analytical projects will focus on how we measure and understand the broader business: establishing authoritative definitions for key metrics and investigating what’s driving changes in the data. In your operational area, you’ll run the work and build systems that make it reliable and increasingly automated, drawing on external specialists for technical expertise.
This isn’t a traditional finance role: we’re a small team of generalists who think in systems, learn unfamiliar domains quickly, and reason through problems from first principles.
Responsibilities
Leading analytical projects that change how we understand the business. Examples include:
Adapting our ARR definition as our business model evolves
Evaluating the health of our sales and marketing funnel
Finding relationships between product initiatives and expansion or churn
Owning a traditional finance domain (such as Accounting or Tax). This will involve a combination of operational work, managing external experts, and evaluating the overall health of the operation
Automating the workflows in your domain so our operational and compliance requirements take as little manual effort as possible. Our aspiration is that areas of traditional finance are treated similarly to analytical systems: a set of inputs that are transformed via defined logic to produce a targeted outcome or insight
Leading cross-functional projects to tackle operational problems as they arise
About you
You think in systems: you understand how pieces fit together, build reliable processes, and automate repetitive work
You think in terms of numbers and are comfortable in a wide range of analytical domains, whether that’s financial modeling, doing intermediate statistical analysis, reviewing the methodology of external vendors, or transforming raw data. You can spot inconsistencies quickly, and enjoy getting to the right answer. SQL experience strongly preferred (nice-to-have: analytics engineering experience)
You know how to use AI to improve efficiency, and enjoy experimenting with novel applications of the technology. Just as importantly, you know the limitations of AI and don't use it as a substitute for your own thinking
You learn fast. For example, you don't need to be an accountant, but you can learn the rules of accounting (or other specialist domains) and apply them to day-to-day problems
You are adept at managing vendors, building strong relationships, and holding them accountable when needed
You have strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail: you enjoy checking items off your checklist, and can seamlessly balance multiple threads of work
Minimum 3–5 years experience, preferably in a high-growth startup
Strong quantitative undergraduate degree (nice to have: MBA)
Based in the US, Canada, or UK
Low-ego attitude: no job should be too small or too large
Nice-to-have: some familiarity with accounting principles or coursework
Compensation
The US base salary range for this role is $150K–$200K annually, plus equity and benefits.
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, and scope of responsibility. Pay may vary by geographic location and other job-related factors.
Benefits
We offer meaningful equity and a comprehensive US benefits package, including fully employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance (with 75% coverage for dependents), a 401(k) with employer match available to enroll after the first 30 days, flexible and unlimited paid time off including sick time, and an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
We're a global team (50% outside the US), fully distributed (from Thailand to California), who get things done asynchronously, with plenty of uninterrupted time, supporting each other to do the best work of our careers. We offer flexibility (define your own schedule and work from wherever you want), autonomy, and an environment that fosters growth, learning, and development. We're relentlessly user-focused and believe in building long-term value, not short-term hacks. And we raised a $30M Series B to take our approach to the next level for years to come.
For U.S. applicants: Metabase participates in the federal E-Verify program, which confirms employment authorization of newly hired U.S. based employees. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates and is only initiated upon hire.
