HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.
Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
At Alan, we want people to find the right product to take care of themselves, as early and as easily as possible. Getting a new pair of glasses usually means an appointment, a lost prescription, 47 frames tried on in a store, and a two-week delay. Most people put it off for months.
The Shop is how Alan members get glasses, lenses and well-being products in a few clicks, covered by their insurance when possible. Most e-commerce teams are incentivized to sell more. We're incentivized to get members the right product at the right time for their health.
We're looking for a fullstack engineer to join the Shop crew. One brief: help our members choose what is right for them, when it is right for them, in a few clicks. Everything else, we figure out together.
ABOUT THE SHOP CREW
The Shop crew is a fully autonomous product team that owns the whole lifecycle of the Shop: not just the code, but the whole business. Product managers, product marketers, ops specialists, designers, data scientists and engineers work side by side on one mission.
What we've built so far:
- An end-to-end optics experience: frames and lenses, virtual try-on, prescription scanning, and checkout priced against each member's coverage.
- One commerce platform behind the whole Shop and its three verticals.
- A growing well-being catalog: about 14 brands and 170 products today, thousands soon.
The Shop is growing fast: more products, smoother flows, and an experience that's more and more integrated into the rest of Alan for our members. The crew needs to grow too, and that means plenty of new opportunities for engineers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Shop is one of the most varied crews in Alan Engineering. In the same week, you might:
- 🔌 Build integrations with our customized e-commerce back office, our in-house virtual try-on, suppliers and partner opticians.
- 🛍️ Ship member-facing flows: dynamic catalogs, purchase flows tailored to each member's coverage, prescription scanning, returns, and out-of-pocket purchases like lens upgrades and extra pairs.
- 🌿 Scale the catalog beyond optics, with discovery and personalized navigation that still work at thousands of products.
- ⚖️ Navigate legal ground: e-commerce rules, invoicing, France's 100% Santé reform, and supplier compliance. Selling medical devices is not like selling socks.
- 📣 Help products reach members in the Alan app, in campaigns, and through Mo, our AI health assistant. A shop that can't promote its products is just a warehouse.
- 📦 Work with ops on orders, deliveries and customer service, so a two-day delay never surprises a member.
You won't just write code. You'll question supplier contracts, debate marketing copy, and debug prescription-scanning logic. Some days it feels less like building software and more like running a small business. That's the point. And the impact is direct: when someone orders their glasses faster, they literally see better, sooner.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years building scalable software, with full-stack experience across backend and frontend.
- A strong product mindset. You want to understand the why before the how, and you enjoy working with members, ops, legal and marketing.
- Ownership from start to finish: you frame the problem, ship the solution, and watch the numbers afterwards.
- Comfort with ambiguity and complex problems. You help shape the scope instead of waiting for a spec.
- Clear communication with non-engineers, in English (French is a plus, since our first market is France).
- Humility, curiosity, and a real interest in making healthcare more accessible.
BONUS POINTS
- Experience with e-commerce: catalogs, checkout, payments, order management, or a headless commerce platform like Saleor.
- Curiosity about where e-commerce meets healthcare.
- Experience with mobile (React Native) or with LLM-powered product features.
HOW WE WORK
- Our stack: React and React Native on the frontend, Python/Flask and PostgreSQL on the backend, all in one monorepo. Saleor powers our commerce back office.
- We deploy daily, and the engineers who make product decisions are the ones who build them.
- We use AI coding agents every day to move faster and focus on the hard problems.
- You own decisions, outcomes and a whole domain, and your incentive is to build what's best for members.
⭐ THE ENGINEERING TEAM ⭐
In our engineering team, we build the infrastructure, interfaces, and applications to provide first-class service to our members, health professionals, and even ourselves!
Being an engineer at Alan means joining a team of talented, committed and passionate engineers, with a lot of product interaction.
We move fast, with a lot of ownership, and are proud to tackle big problems!
Our process is very simple: those who make product decisions are the same ones who build them.
Our stack is React, Python/Flask, PostgreSQL in a monorepo. If you are not familiar with this stack but are a keen learner, it is totally fine. We deploy daily and believe in distributed ownership - you build it, you own it.

Millwork Shop Manager
Location: Long Island City, NY
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
About the Role
Our client is a high-end custom millwork operation based in Long Island City, producing luxury grade millwork for prestigious residential projects. Their 12,000 sq ft shop is a full-service fabrication environment — design review, production, finishing, delivery, and installation — and they hold every project to an uncompromising standard of craftsmanship.
They are seeking an experienced Millwork Shop Manager to take full ownership of shop operations: workflow, production scheduling, quality control, estimating, procurement, and site coordination. This is a leadership role for someone who knows the millwork trade from the inside out and can run a shop with the discipline and attention to detail that luxury residential work demands.
What We’re Looking For
The right candidate has managed a millwork shop before — not just supervised on the floor, but owned the full operational picture. They know wood, they know hardware, they know how to read a shop drawing and spot a problem before it becomes a field issue.
A proven shop manager with luxury residential or high-end interior millwork experience
Technically strong in shop drawing review, site measurement, and estimating
Operationally sharp — able to manage schedules, procurement, and multiple concurrent projects without losing control of quality
A clear communicator with clients, architects, site supers, and vendors
A leader who holds the team to the standard the product requires
Core Responsibilities
Shop Operations & Production
Manage all daily operations of the millwork shop including workflow sequencing, production scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance
Oversee fabrication processes end to end, ensuring all finished products meet luxury grade standards of craftsmanship, detail, and customization
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe, organized shop environment
Stay current on industry trends, materials, hardware, and fabrication techniques relevant to high-end millwork
Drawing Review & Field Coordination
Review and approve all shop drawings for accuracy, feasibility, and adherence to project specifications prior to release for production
Conduct site measurements and coordinate with project teams to verify field conditions and resolve discrepancies before they impact fabrication
Estimating & Procurement
Prepare detailed estimates and material take-offs for all millwork components, accurately assessing costs and resource requirements
Procure all materials required for production — wood species, hardware, finishes, and accessories — within established budget parameters
Delivery, Installation & Project Coordination
Schedule, coordinate, and monitor the delivery and on-site installation of millwork components, maintaining project timelines throughout
Communicate proactively with site superintendents, architects, clients, and vendors to clarify requirements and manage expectations
Qualifications
Proven experience managing or supervising a residential or commercial millwork shop, preferably in the luxury or high-end interior market — required
Strong working knowledge of wood species, hardware, finishes, and fabrication techniques
Expertise in shop drawing review, site measurements, and project estimating
Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects
Effective communicator — able to liaise professionally with clients, architects, vendors, and project teams
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability when project conditions change
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2023 (drafting and drawing review) is a plus
Experience with Procore or comparable project management platforms is advantageous
The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced millwork professional to step into a shop leadership role at a company that takes genuine pride in what it produces. Our client offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, a well-equipped 12,000 sq ft facility, and a team culture defined by craft and quality. If you are an operationally sharp shop manager who thrives in a high-standard environment and wants to own the operation — not just supervise it — we want to hear from you.
Our client is an equal opportunity employer.

The company’s flagship offering allows shoppers to split their payments online and in-store with no interest or fees. Tabby generates over $18 billion in annual transaction volume for its partner brands and is the highest-rated, most-reviewed, largest, and fastest-growing FinTech in the GCC region.
Tabby launched in 2019 and has since raised +$1 billion in equity and debt funding from global and regional investors, and is now valued at $6,5 billion.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the B2C customer journey inside the Tabby app.
Different product teams build different products — Tabby Card, Tabby Cash, BNPL — and they often do it apart from each other. The experience is not always consistent or whole. Your mission is to look at the product the way one customer does, and make it feel like one ecosystem.
The B2C Life Cycle team owns that journey. In practice, that means activation: onboarding, communicating the value of each product, activating financial products, and getting the customer to a first transaction. After that, you design how we keep explaining the value so people come back and keep transacting. You will also work on the subscription and help develop the Tabby+ model.
Why join
A rare brief: own how a customer experiences the whole app, not one feature inside one team
Concrete problems with visible impact — first transaction, return, and a subscription people choose to keep
A strong cross-functional team — product, research, content, and engineering — all invested in quality
What you will be doing
Look across consumer products and design the experience as one customer journey, so Tabby feels consistent and whole
Design onboarding that explains the value of the products in plain language and gets a new customer oriented
Design activation of financial products — Tabby Card, Tabby Cash, and BNPL — through to the first transaction
Design the moments and communication that bring people back after the first transaction and keep them transacting
Shape the subscription experience and help grow s part of the same journey
Work with product teams that ship on their own, and hold the seams between their products so the customer does not feel the org chart
Work closely with your Product Manager to unpack the problem and turn it into a design that serves both the customer and the business
Collaborate with UX Researchers to validate assumptions, and with a UX Writer to make the value of each product clear
Partner with engineering throughout delivery and own the quality of what ships to production

Position Summary
The Electronics Technician - ILI Systems & Equipment owns the full lifecycle of PIPECARE Western Hemisphere’s electronics assets - bench-level preparation, testing, calibration, repair, and reliability support across the region’s inspection technologies (Caliper, MFL, UTWM/UTCD, and EMAT), the tracking and locating equipment that supports every mobilization (AGM units, toolmounted transmitters, and pig locators) - together with management of the electronics store, tool inventory, consumables, and the component requisitioning that ties it all together.
Given the size of WH’s tool fleet and its annual tool-prep volume, this is designed and resourced as a single-incumbent role covering both functions. It shall be noted that PIPECARE has subsidiaries around the world and, although the Electronics Technician reports to the Shop Supervisor, the responsibility of the Electronics Technician is to ensure that all tasks related to the Western Hemisphere are executed according to the plan, corporate standards, and policy approved by the Corporate Office.
Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities
A. Tool Preparation, Testing & Calibration
• Follow approved written instructions, schematics, and design specifications to assemble and prepare Caliper, MFL, UTWM/UTCD, and EMAT tools, using test equipment, hand tools, and precision soldering techniques.
• Perform electronic assembly, soldering, rework, and inspection in accordance with approved workmanship procedures, ESD-control requirements, and applicable IPC standards.
• Perform bench and pull-rig/test-loop calibration of sensors, magnetizers, transducers, odometer wheels, and IMUs against reference standards ahead of every mobilization, in accordance with approved procedures and calibration requirements.
• Execute dry-run and pull-test acceptance procedures; a tool is not released until every acceptance criterion is met and signed off.
• Conduct pressure testing of external electronics and containers.
• Perform final check, calibration, and sign-off on tools prior to mobilization.
• Assemble experimental circuitry or prototype builds per engineering instructions for R&D and internal projects.
B. Battery & Power Systems
• Build, test, and capacity-verify battery packs against run-duration requirements, with margin for delays
• Rebuild, rewire, and replace battery packs and individual cells only in accordance with approved procedures, applicable safety requirements, and authorized competency limits.
• Monitor pack health and flag batteries approaching end-of-life before they cause a field failure.
• Ensure battery packs are handled, packaged, labeled, and documented correctly for every shipment, domestic and cross-border, in accordance with applicable DOT/IATA lithiumbattery transportation requirements and company procedures.
C. Tracking & Locating Equipment (AGM, Transmitters & Pig Locators)
• Prepare, install, and battery-test tool-mounted tracking transmitters (electromagnetic, acoustic, or magnetic) ahead of every mobilization, confirming signal strength and battery life cover the full expected run duration.
• Maintain and pre-run test Above Ground Marker (AGM) units: battery and solar power systems, antenna and geophone accessories, GPS time synchronization, and onboard data storage.
• Maintain and battery-test handheld and vehicle-mounted pig locators/receivers used by field crews to track tool progress and pinpoint a stopped or stuck tool.
Maintain pig signallers and passing indicators at launch, receive, and key trap locations, including mechanical trigger, battery, and alarm function checks.
• Retrieve and back up AGM passage data after each run and provide it promptly to the Data Analysis team in the required format for odometer/IMU correlation.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty tracking equipment returned from the field; hold any unit that fails pre-run acceptance out of service until repaired and re-tested.
• Maintain a dedicated inventory of spare transmitters, AGM units, locators, batteries, and antennas sized to WH’s mobilization schedule, so a failed unit never delays a launch.
D. Repair, Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair completed tools, field returns, and incoming PCBs in accordance with approved procedures and electronic workmanship requirements.
• Perform component-level fault diagnosis using multimeter, oscilloscope, and related diagnostic equipment
• Operate drills and other machine tools to fabricate or repair tool components (flaps, connectors, etc.)
• Lead or support root-cause analysis on any tool that underperforms or fails in the field, and close out the resulting corrective actions.
• Proactively propose improvements to tool-prep processes, test procedures, and store operations.
• Maintain failure, repair, and component-replacement history for critical electronic assemblies and use recurring failure data to support preventive maintenance and reliability improvements.

• Own the electronics store: components, spares, consumables, tool accessories, small tools, and tracking/locating equipment (transmitters, AGM units, locators).
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming components and materials against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Maintain accurate, current inventory records in the company’s ERP or an equivalent tracking system sized to the store.
• Organize, label, and store all inventory in a safe, systematic, and easily auditable manner.
• Set and monitor minimum/maximum stock levels sized to WH’s actual tool-prep volume, avoiding both stockouts and excess/obsolete stock.
• Conduct periodic physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Perform cycle counts at the frequency established by company inventory procedures and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain serial/lot traceability and shelf-life or expiry controls where applicable, and classify critical spares according to their potential impact on mobilization readiness.
• Issue components and consumables against tool-prep and repair jobs.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and recommend disposition.
F. Procurement & Ordering
• Identify component, material, and consumable needs proactively – ahead of tool-prep schedules, not reactively.
• Source suppliers and obtain quotations for components, spares, and consumables.
• Prepare and submit purchase requisitions in line with PIPECARE procurement policy and approved budget; the position does not have independent purchasing or supplier-approval authority unless formally delegated.
• Track order status and coordinate delivery timing against tool-prep and mobilization schedules.
• Maintain basic supplier records and flag recurring quality, pricing, or lead-time issues.
G. Documentation & Reporting
• Enter daily activity into the ERP / Tool Prep Report / Activity Register the same day
• Maintain calibration certificates and measurement-traceability records for tools, sensors, reference standards, and test instruments; identify and quarantine equipment that is overdue or out of tolerance and escalate any potential impact on completed work in accordance with the applicable procedure.
• Download, verify, and back up tool data promptly after every run
• Maintain work areas in a neat, tidy, and HSE-compliant manner
H. Other
• Execute other reasonable tasks in support of Shop/Workshop priorities as they arise.
Skills/Experience
• College education in Electronics, or equivalent hands-on/apprenticeship experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant work experience; prior exposure to in-line inspection (ILI) tools (Caliper, MFL, UTWM/UTCD, EMAT) is a strong plus.
• Solid knowledge of electronic instrumentation and measurement.
• Good experience in soldering, calibration, and testing of electronic PCBs and equipment.
• Working knowledge of inventory/stock management; experience maintaining stock records or running a parts store is a plus - formal supply-chain credentials are not required at this store’s scale.
• Comfortable handling basic procurement/requisitioning tasks: obtaining quotations, raising requisitions, and tracking deliveries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; comfortable learning the company’s ERP/inventory-tracking system.
• Attention to detail, quality focus.
• Ability to work effectively under time pressure and changing mobilization priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Familiarity with pipeline pig tracking/locating equipment (EM/acoustic transmitters, AGM units, handheld locators) is a plus – not required to start, but expected to be picked up quickly.
• Self-motivated, creative, critical, and curious – genuinely engaged with the work, not just executing instructions.
• Valid driver’s license (local supplier pickups / parts runs).
• Ability to handle inspection-tool components within company-defined limits; work in a workshop environment; stand/walk for extended periods; use required PPE; and work safely around machinery, batteries, and electrical/electronic equipment.
