About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
We're looking for experienced engineers to build and scale the database infrastructure that powers Claude's products and Anthropic's research. As a Software Engineer on the Databases team, you'll architect and operate the systems that let millions of users interact with Claude while also supporting frontier AI research workloads.
You'll help set the database strategy for Anthropic: designing systems that handle billions of API requests, building storage that runs cleanly across GCP, AWS, and a range of deployment models, and creating the reliable data layer that lets research move fast.
The Databases team spans three areas: the core database platform (data plane and control plane), data movement (migrations, backfill, and change data capture), and caching. We're hiring across all three.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the technical direction for database solutions used across Product and Research
Design and implement database solutions that scale to support millions of users across Claude's product ecosystem
Build and scale database systems through 100x+ growth while maintaining reliability and performance
Build the database platform that lets Anthropic engineers ship without thinking about databases or scaling.
Architect data storage solutions that operate across GCP, AWS, first-party deployments, third-party deployments, and other environments
Develop database infrastructure that serves both product and research workloads with different performance characteristics
Build data movement infrastructure (migration tooling, backfill, and change data capture pipelines) that safely consolidates and moves data across the organization
Design and operate caching infrastructure, including CDC-driven cache invalidation, that keeps Anthropic's hottest paths fast and correct
Partner with product and research teams to understand data requirements and build infrastructure that accelerates their work
Optimize database performance, reliability, and cost efficiency at scale
Make build-vs-buy decisions for database technologies
Minimum Qualifications
Significant experience as a software engineer building and operating production database or storage systems
Deep knowledge of distributed database architectures and OLTP systems at scale
Proficiency with SQL and at least one major relational or distributed database engine (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Spanner, CockroachDB, DynamoDB)
Track record of leading large, complex infrastructure projects as an engineer or tech lead
Ability to balance moving quickly with the reliability needs of production systems
Strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years building and scaling database systems, with 3+ years leading large-scale projects or teams
Experience scaling databases through periods of rapid growth at high-growth companies
Experience operating Spanner, CockroachDB, TiDB, AlloyDB, or other globally distributed SQL databases in production
Experience with Redis, Temporal, vector databases, or async job processing frameworks
Experience with change data capture (Debezium or similar), large-scale data migration, or streaming data infrastructure
Experience building multi-cloud or hybrid cloud database solutions
Knowledge of database orchestration and automation at scale
Contributions to database internals, storage engines, or related open source projects
Note: Prior AI/ML infrastructure experience is not required. We value deep infrastructure and database expertise from any domain.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We're looking for experienced engineers to build Anthropic's cache layer as a managed service from the ground up. The Caching team is part of the Databases organization and owns the systems that keep Anthropic's hottest paths fast and correct: a managed Redis fleet, client libraries used across the company, and CDC-driven cache invalidation that solves one of distributed systems' hardest problems the right way.
This is a foundational role on a small team with outsized leverage. Every millisecond you take off a hot path is multiplied across every Claude request. You'll set the technical direction for caching at Anthropic, from the data plane to the developer experience, and you'll work closely with product and research teams to make caching something engineers get for free rather than something they have to think about.
Key responsibilities
Drive the technical direction for caching infrastructure used across Product and Research
Design, build, and operate a managed Redis fleet that scales to support millions of users across Claude's product ecosystem
Build client libraries and developer-facing abstractions that make correct caching the default for Anthropic engineers
Design and operate CDC-driven cache invalidation that keeps cached data consistent with source-of-truth databases
Architect caching solutions that operate across GCP, AWS, first-party deployments, and other environments
Optimize latency, hit rates, reliability, and cost efficiency on Anthropic's hottest paths
Build observability and tooling that makes cache behavior easy to understand and debug
Partner with product and research teams to understand access patterns and build infrastructure that accelerates their work
Make build-vs-buy decisions for caching technologies
Minimum qualifications
Significant experience as a software engineer building and operating production distributed systems
Deep knowledge of caching architectures, including invalidation strategies, consistency tradeoffs, and failure modes
Experience operating Redis, Memcached, or similar in-memory data stores in production
Proficiency in at least one systems programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, C++) or Python at scale
Track record of leading large, complex infrastructure projects as an engineer or tech lead
Ability to balance moving quickly with the reliability needs of production systems
Strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications
10+ years building and scaling distributed infrastructure, with 3+ years leading large-scale projects or teams
Experience building managed infrastructure platforms or internal services consumed by many engineering teams
Experience with change data capture (Debezium or similar) or streaming data infrastructure
Experience operating Redis Cluster, Valkey, ElastiCache, Memorystore, or similar managed offerings at scale
Experience designing client libraries or SDKs for internal infrastructure
Experience scaling infrastructure through periods of rapid growth at high-growth companies
Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud deployments
Contributions to caching systems, database internals, or related open source projects
Note: Prior AI/ML infrastructure experience is not required. We value deep infrastructure expertise from any domain.

Anthropic's researchers generate and depend on enormous amounts of data — training runs, evaluations, RL transcripts, annotations etc... The Research Data Platform team builds the systems that make that data easy to produce, find, query, and trust. We work in two modes: we build
platform components that other systems plug into
(for example, a metrics library that training frameworks integrate to record and retrieve run data), and we
own core datasets end to end
(for example, the data pipeline behind RL transcripts).
As the team's tech lead, your job starts with our users. You'll work directly with researchers — and with the engineers who support them — to understand how they actually work, where managing data slows them down, and where a well-built platform component or a well-curated dataset would change what's possible. You'll turn what you learn into technical direction for the team, in partnership with the team's manager, who owns priorities and people. A central ambition you'll drive: a small set of canonical, well-documented datasets — starting with the core data model for RL — that researchers trust and standardize on, rather than every team managing its own copies.
You'll spend your first few months close to the code and close to users: shipping improvements in our core systems, embedding with research teams, and building your own map of their workflows. As the team grows, this role has a natural path into formal people leadership for someone who wants it.
Responsibilities
Work directly with researchers and the engineers supporting them to understand their workflows, identify the highest-leverage opportunities, and shape what the team builds next
Set the technical direction for the team across our platform and our datasets
Design and build platform components that other teams plug into — libraries, services, and interfaces such as the metrics library used by training frameworks
Own core datasets end to end: the pipelines that produce them, the schemas that define them, and the documentation and guarantees that make researchers trust them
Drive convergence toward canonical datasets — including the core data model for RL transcripts — that research teams standardize on
Lead complex, multi-quarter projects that span several systems and teams, staying hands-on in the code
Raise the team's technical bar through design reviews, mentorship, and the quality of your own work
You may be a good fit if you:
Have built and operated data-intensive systems at scale — pipelines, storage layers, query systems — with strong instincts for data modeling and schema design that hold up as usage grows
Have set technical direction for a team, or owned the architecture of a data platform that other teams build on
Treat internal users as customers: you do the discovery work, iterate with users, and measure success by adoption rather than by shipping
Understand that researchers aren’t typical internal customers — the work is exploratory by nature, workflows differ from team to team, and requirements are discovered through experiments rather than specified up front
Can build for that motion — keeping interfaces stable and data trustworthy while use cases change underneath you, and judging when a quick, disposable solution serves research better than a durable one
Lead through influence — aligning engineers and stakeholders without relying on formal authority
Are results-oriented and pragmatic, willing to do unglamorous work when it's the highest-leverage thing
Are excited about learning the fundamentals of machine learning research (deep ML expertise is not required)
Care about the societal impacts of your work
Strong candidates may also have
Experience with large-scale ETL and columnar or analytical storage (e.g., Spark, BigQuery, ClickHouse, DuckDB, Parquet)
Experience with metrics or experiment-tracking systems, or high-volume time-series data
Experience with dataset management, cataloging, or lineage tooling
Built developer tooling or internal data platforms for demanding technical users — including in domains like quantitative trading, where fast-moving, exploratory data work looks a lot like research
A working knowledge of machine learning
Worked in, or closely with, an ML research lab
Interest in — or experience with — people management and growing engineers

Triage and investigate production incidents — create incident tickets in JIRA Service Management, perform initial technical investigation using Datadog (traces, logs, infrastructure and application metrics), determine blast radius and likely root cause domain, and route to the correct team (Product SRE, Infrastructure SRE, or Engineering) using the smart routing model.
Own lower-severity incidents end-to-end from detection through resolution — diagnose, execute runbook procedures, and resolve without escalation where possible. Escalate promptly when an incident is unresolved within defined thresholds or requires a code-level fix.
Support the TSO Lead during major incidents as the technical right hand in the war room — surface real-time data (error rates, impact scope, deployment history, related alerts), maintain the incident ticket with live timeline entries and linked evidence, and execute mitigation actions as directed.
Draft incident communications under TSO Lead direction, including internal Slack updates, stakeholder notifications, and customer-facing status page updates (status.xsolla.com). Support clear, timely communication throughout the incident lifecycle.
During non-incident periods, analyze incident trends, recurring issues, and production bugs — compile data from Datadog, JIRA, and Slack, identify patterns, and contribute findings to regular reports for product and engineering teams.
Compile incident timelines and draft initial PIR documents for Post-Incident Review preparation. Track PIR action items post-session and flag overdue items to the TSO Lead.
Build and maintain operational automation (alert enrichment scripts, incident templates, Slack workflows, dashboard widgets) and contribute to runbook development — documenting new resolution procedures so they can be repeated by any Operations Engineer on any shift.
Conduct structured shift handoffs covering active incidents, at-risk services, upcoming deployments, and follow-up items. Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with SREs to continuously expand independent resolution capability.
Cover for the TSO Lead during vacations, absences, or emergencies — including severity classification, escalation decisions, stakeholder communications, and basic Incident Commander functions.
Publish health reports of critical apps periodically.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working at a gaming company is required — you understand the pace, player expectations, live operations dynamics, and the operational demands of the gaming industry.
4+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, production operations, NOC, or technical operations in a high-availability environment.
Strong troubleshooting and investigation skills — ability to take an alert or user-reported symptom and methodically trace it through the stack: application logs, APM traces, infrastructure metrics, database queries, and network paths.
Hands-on experience with Datadog (or equivalent observability platform: Grafana, Splunk, New Relic, Elastic) — navigating APM, building log queries, reading infrastructure dashboards, interpreting SLO burn rates, and configuring monitors and alerts.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Python, Go, or Bash. You will write automation scripts, build operational tooling, and work with APIs.
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English — ability to write incident tickets, investigation notes, Slack updates, shift handoff reports, status page communications, and PIR drafts that are clear, concise, and useful to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable) — understanding of pods, deployments, services, ingress, node health, and how to investigate Kubernetes-related production issues.
Understanding of SLOs, error budgets, and burn-rate alerting — knowing what a multi-window burn-rate alert means, how error budgets deplete, and how SLO breaches translate into incident severity.
Experience with incident management tooling: JIRA or JIRA Service Management, PagerDuty or OpsGenie, Slack, and Confluence.
Experience with or strong interest in AI/ML-assisted operations: anomaly detection, alert correlation, predictive monitoring, or automated remediation.
Comfort with 24x7 shift-based operations as part of a follow-the-sun model with handoff overlaps. Weekend on-call (rotating) is required.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Datadog Service Catalog, synthetic monitoring, and RUM (Real User Monitoring).
Experience with distributed systems debugging: tracing failures across microservices, understanding cascading failures, and reading distributed traces end-to-end.
Exposure to database operations (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka) at a level sufficient to investigate connection pool exhaustion, replication lag, slow queries, or queue backlogs during incidents.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling (GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Helm) — enough to correlate recent deployments with production issues and identify rollback targets.
JIRA Service Management administration experience: workflows, automation rules, SLA timers, and queues.
ITIL Foundation certification is a plus but not required — practical experience matters more.

Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT US
Constructor is the next-generation platform for search and discovery in ecommerce, built to explicitly optimize for metrics like revenue, conversion rate, and profit. Our search engine is entirely invented in-house utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, and we use its core and personalization capabilities to power everything from search itself to recommendations to shopping agents. Engineering is by far our largest department, and we've built our proprietary engine to be the best on the market, having never lost an A/B test to a competitive technology. We're passionate about maintaining this and work on the bleeding edge of AI to do so. Out of necessity, our engine is built for extreme scale and powers over 1 billion queries every day across 150 languages and roughly 100 countries. It is used by some of the biggest ecommerce companies in the world like Sephora, Under Armour, and Petco. We're a passionate team who love solving problems and want to make our customers' and coworkers' lives better. We value empathy, openness, curiosity, continuous improvement, and are excited by metrics that matter. We believe that empowering everyone in a company to do what they do best can lead to great things. Constructor is a U.S. based company that has been in the market since 2019. It was founded by Eli Finkelshteyn and Dan McCormick who still lead the company today.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Experiments team at Constructor builds an experimentation platform: traffic allocation, exposure logging, metric computation, statistical analysis, and a UI for launching experiments and interpreting results. It’s used both internally and by customers running experiments on production traffic.
We’re scaling customer experimentation usage and investing in making experiments faster, more reliable, and easier to interpret. Unlike boxed experimentation tools, our platform has to support a wide range of customer integrations, traffic patterns, and industry constraints — which makes the engineering problems unusually real-world and high-leverage.
Team: 3 Software Engineers, 1 Data Analyst, an Engineering Manager, and a Product Manager.
THE ROLE
This is primarily a backend role (Python services + data-heavy systems). You’ll occasionally work in the Dash UI and contribute to Spark jobs, but those are not the main focus. We care about correctness, observability, and product usability more than complex infrastructure.
Tech: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Plotly Dash, PySpark/Databricks, AWS, CloudWatch, Sentry
(Spark work is ~5–10% — we don’t expect you to be a data engineer or own the data platform.)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and maintain backend services for experiment assignment, logging, and report generation
- Improve scalability, performance, and reliability of experiment reporting pipelines
- Add product-facing features to the UI to help users launch experiments and interpret results
- Take technical ownership of projects: shape solutions, break down work, and drive execution with the team
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation (investigating occasional issues and answering internal questions)
You’ll collaborate closely with Search/Recommendations engineers, ML/DS partners, and customer-facing teams when needed. This role does not require frequent direct customer calls.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST-HAVE
- Strong experience building and owning production backend services in Python
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and debugging user-facing systems
- Strong SQL skills and confidence working with data-heavy systems (metrics, logging, analytics)
- Ability to ship maintainable software (tests, code review, incremental delivery)
MINDSET
- You take ownership: you can turn ambiguous problems into an executable technical plan
- You care about building systems people trust and rely on
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience with experimentation systems, metrics platforms, or A/B testing workflows
- Experience with PySpark and/or Databricks
- We don’t expect you to already be an expert in experimentation methodology — but we do expect strong backend fundamentals and the ability to ramp up effectively in a data-heavy domain
LOCATION / TIME ZONES
- We’re a distributed team. Preferred time zones are UTC+1 to UTC+7, but we’re flexible
BENEFITS
- 🏝️ Unlimited vacation time - we strongly encourage all employees to take at least 3 weeks per year
- 🌎 Fully remote team - choose where you live
- 🛋️ Work from home stipend - we want you to have the resources you need to set up your home office
- 💻 Apple laptops provided for new employees
- 🧑🎓 Training and development budget - refreshed each year for every employee
- 👪 Maternity & Paternity leave for qualified employees
- 🧠 Work with smart people who will help you grow and make a meaningful impact
- 💵 Base salary: $80k–$110k USD, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and interview results
- 📈 Stock options - offered in addition to the base salary
- 🎉 Regular team offsites to connect and collaborate

Anthropic's Enterprise Knowledge Work team builds the products that help enterprise knowledge workers collaborate deeply with Claude for major parts of their work.
Over the past year, AI has transformed how software engineering happens; for the rest of knowledge work, though, using AI still mostly means answering questions and producing first drafts — a small slice of the actual job.
We're building toward something bigger: people and agents working together on every core work objective, from first idea to finished product, and the recurring work of a team running with Claude in the loop instead of a person pushing every step. It's an enormous space, it's early, and no one has built it well yet.
You'll help decide what these products are, not just how they're built — the product questions are as open as the architecture ones — and you'll see your work land with real teams at the world's largest enterprises.
What you'll do
Own technical design and delivery for enterprise-facing core products, end-to-end across the stack
Partner with product, design, and go-to-market to turn enterprise customer workflows into shipped product, not just execute against a spec
Set technical direction and standards for your team: architecture, code quality, and how the team builds
Work directly with enterprise customers and sales during key conversations, translating what you learn into engineering priorities
Work closely with research to make the models better in your domain: shaping evals, surfacing failure modes, and feeding customer learnings back into model development
Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the team, working with influence rather than authority
Build the core primitives that enable knowledge workers across industries and roles to meaningfully leverage Claude
You may be a good fit if you
Have 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with 2+ years at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level
Have led the design and delivery of complex customer-facing products across the full stack
Have built AI products and know what it takes to turn model capabilities into applications people actually use
Are comfortable working directly with enterprise customers and translating what you learn into technical decisions
Have built products from 0 to 1 in fast-moving environments, and can set technical direction with limited precedent to lean on
Drive cross-team alignment to ship impactful work, with influence over authority
Strong candidates may also have
Experience working with research to improve domain-specific model capabilities, including evaluation frameworks
Experience as startup founders or early-stage employees

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 - our rapidly developed humanoid platform being deployed in real industrial environments - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Principal Product Cybersecurity Assurance Engineer with deep expertise in product security, threat modelling, and risk assurance for highly regulated electromechanical systems. In this role, you will lead the delivery of product cybersecurity across Humanoid's HMND 01 platform family — the Alpha Wheeled industrial robot and the Alpha Bipedal home robot — both powered by our KinetIQ VLM/VLA-based AI framework. Working alongside product, firmware, autonomy, and hardware teams as part of the Systems Engineering and Architecture Team, you will define and maintain the cybersecurity assurance strategy for all product security activities from first concept through post-market deployment. Security at Humanoid is an engineering discipline inseparable from functional safety and central to our mission of creating the world's most reliable, commercially scalable, and safe humanoid robots. To excel in this position, you must demonstrate the authority to influence security architecture decisions across complex, cross-functional programmes, the rigour to build defensible security cases for novel cyber-physical systems, and the leadership to grow and guide a cross team of security engineers operating at the frontier of robotics.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Team Leadership & Product Security Delivery

- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity obligations under the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 where cyber controls intersect with safety-critical functions and compliance to IEC 62443 (for industrial/OT product security), and the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
- Provide independent Information Assurance (IA) reviews and risk assessments on complex, high-impact projects — with particular focus on cyber-physical systems where a digital compromise could result in physical harm to operators or end users.
- Review and provide guidance on security risk assessments, risk mitigation plans, mitigation gap analysis, and security management documentation in support of system cybersecurity certification.
Incident Response & Lifecycle Security
- Establish and maintain a Product Security Incident Response (PSIR) process, encompassing coordinated vulnerability disclosure, patch deployment pipelines, and post-field incident analysis.
- Define and oversee security monitoring requirements for deployed fleets, ensuring field data feeds back into risk files and security artefacts in line with post-market surveillance obligations.
Commercial & Bid Support
- Support the production of work package descriptions and cost estimates for product bids, services, and proposals that include product security scope.
- Represent Humanoid's security posture in customer and partner engagements, including regulatory consultations and certification body interactions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven, hands-on experience with ISO 27001/27004/27005 and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), applied to regulated hardware or embedded product programmes.
- Experience owning a security risk management system for highly regulated, safety-critical products — with background drawn from automotive, commercial vehicle, or industrial automation environments.
- Working knowledge of IEC 62443, with the ability to adapt ISO/SAE 21434 lifecycle methodologies to robotic or electromechanical product context.
- Solid understanding of engineering development lifecycles and how the product cybersecurity specialism aligns with systems engineering, functional safety, and hardware/software co-development.
- Ability to interpret Penetration Test reports and author Remediation Action Plans that address identified vulnerabilities in a structured, risk-prioritised manner.
- Clear, structured communication skills — able to articulate complex security risk arguments to both technical engineers and executive stakeholders with equal confidence.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) or equivalent threat modelling methodologies (STRIDE, PASTA) applied to embedded or OT/IT convergent systems.
- Understanding of secure-by-design principles for AI/ML-enabled systems, including securing inference pipelines, model integrity, and cloud-to-edge communication paths.
- Exposure to CAN bus, Ethernet backbone, or wireless interface security in mobile, vehicular, or robotic systems.
- Experience contributing to or establishing a Product Security Incident Response (PSIRT) process or coordinated vulnerability disclosure programme.
- Knowledge of UL 4600, UL 3300, or ISO 13482 and an appreciation of how cybersecurity evidence integrates into safety case arguments.
- Prior engagement with certification bodies (TUV, UL, BSI) or standards development organisations (ISO TC 184, IEC TC 65, SAE, IEEE RAS).
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive equity: stock options with meaningful upside as we scale.
- 30+ paid days off, including 23 days of annual leave, all UK bank holidays, and additional company closure days (including Christmas–New Year shutdown).
- Private healthcare, including virtual and in-person care.
- Pension scheme with 8% total contribution (5% employee, 3% employer) on full earnings.
- Free daily breakfast, catered lunch, and snacks in-office.
- Work at the frontier - collaborate daily with world-class engineers, researchers, and product experts building the next generation of AI and humanoid robotics.
- Real ownership - direct access to founding leadership, meaningful input on product direction, and the ability to drive key initiatives from day one.
