BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. Offering spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
Kraken Pro is where serious traders live. Millions of them. It’s time we built a meaningful, engaged Community out of these degenerates.
Are you ready for this mission?
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re seeking a chronically online Copywriter to give Kraken Pro. At Kraken, understanding our brand ethos, mission, and the traders we serve is essential, and copy is where all of that comes to life.
We’re looking for someone who writes fast but thinks sharp, thrives under pressure, and knows how to turn complex product features into lines that traders actually stop and read. This role demands a razor-sharp ear for language, a deep understanding of trading culture, and a self-starter attitude.
- Write copy that converts. Craft punchy, high-impact messaging across campaigns, landing pages, emails, in-app experiences, paid ads, and social for Kraken Pro.
- Speak fluent trader. Capture the voice of CT, FinTwit, and the trading floor, and know when to be witty, when to be direct, and when to let the numbers do the talking.
- Launch like you mean it. Shape the narrative for new product drops and feature releases, turning technical updates into clear, compelling stories.
- Own the voice. Help build and protect the Kraken Pro tone of voice across every touchpoint, from a headline to a push notification.
- Collaborate at speed. Work hand in hand with Design, Product, Growth, and Social to brief, iterate, and ship copy that moves the needle.
- Test and learn. Run copy experiments, track performance, and iterate based on what the data tells you.
- Ship responsibly. Partner with Legal/Comms to ensure compliant, accurate, and aligned messaging across regions and platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Receipts. Copy you wrote that moved people to act, whether for a brand, an agency, or your own projects. We care more about what you’ve made than where you’ve worked.
- 3+ years in copywriting or content, ideally in fintech, crypto, or trading. Exceptional portfolios beat exceptional résumés here.

- Speed under pressure. Markets don’t wait for approval cycles and neither do you.
- High AI competency. Enabling you to multiply your impact and keep up with demand.
- Range as a writer. Headlines, long-form, microcopy, scripts, threads, email flows, and taglines. You can go from a three-word CTA to a full campaign narrative without missing a beat.
- Taste. Knowing when to cut a line is as valuable as knowing how to write one.

BUILD SOMETHING PEOPLE LOVE
Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator. The company offers a full suite of simple, sophisticated financial products across managed investing, do-it-yourself trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, spending and saving. Wealthsimple currently serves more than 4 million Canadians and holds over $155 billion in assets under administration. The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Corporate Physical Security and Protective Services team sits within Wealthsimple's Regulatory division. We keep our people, offices, and visitors safe — from access control and our on-site guard program to emergency preparedness, investigations, and executive protection. We're a small team that works closely with Workplace Operations, building management, and partners across the company, and we're focused on building a security program that gets ahead of problems instead of just reacting to them. If you take safety seriously and want to help shape a strong security culture at a fast-moving fintech, you'll fit right in.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Physical Security & Protective Services, you'll be the face of security in our Toronto office — the first person employees, visitors, and guards turn to when something comes up. This role exists to give our team more room to build: you'll own how we respond day to day in the office, and lead the security awareness program that helps everyone at Wealthsimple understand their part in keeping each other safe.
Please note, this role is based in our Toronto office 5 days/week and is not eligible for remote work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Serve as the first point of contact for security in the office, handling visitor management, temporary badging, and in-person concerns from employees and visitors
- Lead content creation and day-to-day delivery of our security awareness program, including training on badging, visitor management, and emergency procedures
- Respond to security incidents and see each one through to resolution, documenting everything
- Investigate routine workplace incidents — like access violations, thefts, and disturbances — and escalate sensitive or high-risk matters
- Coordinate daily with on-site guards on coverage, post order compliance, and shift handovers, and report issues so they get addressed with our vendor
- Process access requests, badge issuance, and deactivations in our access control and video management systems, flagging anomalies and gaps as you find them
- Support our emergency preparedness program — floor warden coordination, drills, and tabletop exercises — and help draft security policies, procedures, and event risk assessments
- Assist with executive protection and travel security when needed, from logistics to travel monitoring
SKILLS YOU BRING
- 2+ years of experience in physical security, risk assessment, emergency response, customer-facing communications, or a related role
- Post-secondary education in security management, risk management, criminal justice, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience de-escalating tense situations with clients, visitors, or employees, with composure and discretion
- Clear, concise writing — you can produce incident reports, procedures, and advisories that people actually read
- Good judgment about what you can handle and what to escalate, and the ability to manage several priorities at once
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in fintech or financial services
- Hands-on experience with security and ticketing platforms like Genetec and Jira
- A valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- A PSP or CPP designation from ASIS, or progress toward one
- Interest in growing into executive protection or intelligence analysis work
WHO YOU ARE
- Calm under pressure — you stay composed when things get tense, and people feel safer because you're there
- Approachable and clear — you can walk a new hire through our badging process or settle a frustrated visitor with the same ease
- Thorough and consistent — you follow procedures, document your work accurately, and notice when a process isn't working
- Clear on your scope — you handle routine matters on your own and escalate early when something needs a second set of eyes
- Someone who takes ownership — you follow your work through, raise issues before anyone asks, and want to grow into bigger responsibilities
- Curious about how to make security part of the culture, not just a set of rules

What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator to be a foundational pillar of our IT organization. This is not a ticket-closing role. We need a proactive owner who can build and manage the technology ecosystem that empowers our entire company. You will have the autonomy to design, implement, and refine the systems and processes that make our organization more secure, efficient, and productive.
You will be the go-to expert for our modern, cloud-native tech stack, including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Jamf, n8n, and AWS.If you thrive on automating processes, solving complex challenges, and building reliable, scalable IT systems, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Plan & Strategize: Help shape and maintain the roadmap for our corporate IT infrastructure. Develop clear policies and repeatable processes for identity management, device security, application access, and IT support.
- Administer & Automate: Serve as the lead administrator for our core SaaS/IaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Okta Jamf, Slack, Atlassian Suite). Use n8n, scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.), AI tooling, and native tool automation to eliminate manual work, streamline user lifecycle management, and integrate systems.
- Administering or enabling AI tools (such as Claude or similar) in a business setting, including SSO/SCIM provisioning, usage and spend management, and a security-minded approach to data access and integrations. Comfort using LLMs to speed up your own scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Secure & Optimize: Implement and maintain security best practices across all systems. Manage endpoint security and configuration with Jamf, enforce access policies with Okta, keep our office networks secure and performing well, and monitor our environment for performance and compliance. Help enable AI tools safely by managing access, usage limits, and connector permissions.
- Empower & Support: Build a great employee experience by providing reliable systems and excellent support. Act as a senior escalation point, create clear documentation, and support our IT service desk (Jira Service Management) by resolving complex issues, improving workflows, and automating recurring requests to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate & Deliver: Partner with Security, HR, Engineering, and other departments to understand their needs and deliver technology solutions that help them achieve their goals.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a cloud-first environment.
- Proven experience managing core business platforms, including Google Workspace for productivity and Jamf for Apple device management.
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently. You can take a high-level goal, break it down, and execute without constant supervision.
- Proficiency in administering the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence), with a knack for creating clean workflows and automations that serve the business, not just the tool.
- A solid understanding of IT security principles, networking fundamentals, and cloud infrastructure (especially AWS basics).
- Hands-on experience with Identity and Access Management, including managing an IdP like Okta.
- Strong scripting and automation skills in a language like Python or JavaScript, and experience building workflows in n8n or a similar tool (Zapier, Workato, Kestra). You default to automating a task rather than doing it twice.
- Practical experience with office networking, including firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, and DNS/DHCP, and monitoring it with tools like Datadog.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points For:
- Professional certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Professional, Jamf Certified Admin, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Fortinet NSE).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a DevOps culture.
- Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.

You'll play a critical role in strengthening our detection capabilities across cloud, identity, endpoint, and application environments, with a focus on identifying emerging threats, improving detection accuracy, and reducing security risk. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of our detection engineering program, influence its technical direction, and help shape the future of security at WHOOP as we continue to scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and scale high-signal detections across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and application layers using Detection-as-Code principles.
- Develop and maintain detection logic aligned to real-world attacker behavior and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK across modern security platforms.
- Translate threat intelligence into actionable detections and validate effectiveness through adversary emulation and testing.
- Build behavioral detections to protect against threats such as account takeover, credential abuse, API misuse, automation attacks, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration.
- Continuously improve detection quality by tuning alerts, reducing false positives, and implementing automated enrichment and triage.
- Define and track detection KPIs (e.g., precision, recall, false positive rate, MTTD) and implement processes to measure and improve detection health.
- Support and lead incident investigations, including containment, root cause analysis, and post-incident detection improvements.
- Contribute to the on-call rotation while proactively reducing operational overhead through automation.
- Partner with Engineering, IT, Infrastructure, Product, and GRC to ensure systems launch with strong monitoring and detection coverage.
- Map detections to threat models, identify visibility gaps, and continuously improve coverage as the environment scales.
- Explore and apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to improve detection fidelity, reduce noise, and enhance triage and investigation workflows.
- Stay ahead of evolving threats by researching emerging attack techniques and incorporating learnings into detection strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Information Security, with a focus on detection engineering, threat detection, or security operations.
- Demonstrated experience writing and tuning detections across cloud, identity, endpoint, or application environments.
- Familiarity with detection frameworks and tooling such as YARA, SIGMA, Suricata, or similar rule-based detection methodologies.
- Strong understanding of attacker techniques across identity compromise, cloud abuse, lateral movement, and data exfiltration.
- Expertise analyzing and building detections on cloud and SaaS telemetry, including authentication events, API activity, and system logs.
- Strong scripting skills in a scripting language such as Python, Go, or PowerShell for automation and tool development.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with a systems-thinking approach to reducing noise and increasing signal fidelity.
- Experience supporting incident response investigations and participating in on-call rotations.
- Experience building detective controls for consumer-facing platforms or detecting authentication and API abuse at scale is a strong plus.
- Effective communicator who can collaborate with engineers and explain detection strategy clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with applying data analysis or machine learning techniques to security detection or alert triage is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field, and/or relevant security certifications are a plus.

At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience.
