About this role:
At Sensor Tower, we process tens of terabytes of data to power insights used by thousands of customers. We’re looking for curious, motivated engineers who want to grow their skills while helping us build fast, reliable systems that make data easy to access and understand.
You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, contribute to meaningful features from day one, and learn how large-scale systems are designed, built, and optimized in production.
If you enjoy learning, solving problems, and shipping real software that users rely on, we would love to meet you.
Our Engineering Culture
We believe that "Simplicity is a prerequisite for reliability." We are looking for engineers who align with our core values:
- Simplicity: We avoid over-engineering. We prefer the tools we already have and the most straightforward solutions over "shiny new toys."
- Quality: We write code that is a pleasure to read because we know code is written once but read many times. We don't cut corners, and we polish to a high level before shipping.
- Extreme Ownership: We don't just do the minimum. We expect you to understand the "why" behind your work and own the ultimate goal of fixing problems at their root cause, avoiding temporary band-aids.
- Prioritization: We focus relentlessly on what is important, not just what is urgent.
What you’ll do:
- Improving and building new features for an app market intelligence SaaS platform focused on the SMBs (AppMagic by Sensor Tower).
- Participate in the full development life cycle, including design, implementation, quality polish, and release.
- Work on a variety of tasks, such as parsing, data aggregation, API design, refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Create and optimize complex database queries for data analysis and modification.
- Perform code reviews, and suggest improvements to tools and processes.
Backend stack: Golang, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes.
What we are looking for:
- +3 years of experience with Go (if you have lesser years of experience but have meaningful github contributions and other coding samples, this will be taken into consideration).
- Strong SQL skills (Postgres/ClickHouse). You know when to rely on an ORM and when to write raw SQL, and you're comfortable writing and debugging complex queries.
- Focusing on quality by writing testable code that simplifies debugging and ensures long-term reliability.
- Ability to see the product through the user’s eyes and a passion for product excellence.
- Curiosity & drive: a proactive approach to digging into sources yourself rather than relying on second-hand information, and an eagerness to understand why a project is valuable before you start coding.
- Experience with CI/CD, docker, k8s as a plus.
- Ability to pass technical interview both in Russian & English.
- Hands-on, thoughtful use of AI tools in development.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring someone to lead Employee Programs based in our San Francisco office.
You'll own new hire onboarding end to end, designing and running programs that get people productive fast and fluent in how we work. You'll design and confidently facilitate the in-person programming that makes this happen, in our SF office and for our distributed teams, and build lightweight tools to track whether it's actually working.
You'll partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to build training that supports competencies that scale as the company grows.
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Own end-to-end design of new hire onboarding, including in-person programming in our SF office (e.g. culture and communication) and support individual team onsites (twice annually per team)
- Build structured onboarding curriculum covering role ramp-up, cross-functional context, roadmap understanding, and how decisions get made
- Measure onboarding effectiveness (time to productivity, ramp feedback, manager input) and iterate each cohort
- Collaborate with our operations team to contribute content and programming for company-wide offsites
- Design and facilitate a new manager training program covering core management skills and how management works here specifically
- Own personal growth and upskilling programs for employees who need targeted skill development: identify gaps, build or source training, track progress
- Partner with managers and leadership to spot where upskilling closes a real performance or capability gap
- Confidently facilitate large-group sessions, comfortable running a room for onboarding cohorts, manager training, or team onsites, not just designing the content
- Use AI-forward, no-code tools to build lightweight internal tools that track ramp progress and distribute onboarding content automatically, reducing manual, one-off work
REQUIREMENTS
- Have 5+ years in internal events, employee experience, learning & development or People programs at a high growth startup
- Are an exceptional communicator, both written and verbal
- Confident public speaker and experienced facilitator: can run sessions for large or mixed-seniority groups and hold a room
- Experience building new manager or leadership training programs
- Have strong operational instincts and excellent project management skills
- Care deeply about creating memorable employee experiences
- Think in systems and continuously improve programs based on feedback

We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
Staff Backend Engineer - Mimir Query, Databases
This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the USA time zones.
What is Grafana Cloud?
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack.
The Databases team owns and operates the telemetry databases that are
Mimir for metrics
,
Loki for logs
,
Tempo for traces
, and
Pyroscope for profiles
. Our databases are offered as a hosted service in Grafana Cloud, and additionally as on-premise solutions with
Grafana Enterprise Metrics
,
Grafana Enterprise Logs
, and
Grafana Enterprise Traces
. They are multi-tenant distributed systems implemented in Go and operating at scale on Kubernetes across all major Cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a new perspective to the software.
Mimir Squad
The Mimir squad has 3 sub-squads, Ingest, Storage, and Query, which together maintain the
Mimir OSS project
, and additionally own and operate Grafana Cloud Metrics across 3 major cloud providers. Engineers on the team focus on optimizing the efficiency and resilience of processing, storing, and querying metrics at large volumes. These services operate at a large scale and performance is key to keeping the offering competitive and running smoothly.
A Mimir engineer has various work streams. They are likely engaged in a larger project with another engineer, and they are also incorporating some performance and reliability improvements discovered through operating the system in production. They are also responsible for writing and reviewing PRs and design documents from other engineers in the squad, shepherding automated release rollouts, and participating in the on-call rotation for their systems.
What will you be doing:
Take an active role in influencing our roadmap and your own career objectives
Work with your team to deliver new features, then use the results to iterate and improve.
Drive projects from initial idea all the way to operations once it is in the hands of customers
Embrace our open-source culture and contribute to other projects that may not directly fall within your team’s scope
Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning the reliability, performance, and availability
Be a part of your team’s follow-the-sun on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you’re running
Support other team members, participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team
Learn new skills by gaining a deeper understanding of our cloud product and our customers and getting to know the codebase of a large distributed system
We invest heavily in developer productivity. You can use modern AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow (your choice of tools, within security guidelines), backed by a company-funded usage budget so you can iterate quickly without unnecessary friction. We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always with strong code review and quality standards. You'll also have access to the latest frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
What makes you a great fit:
You are a motivated self starter with a bias towards action. You are customer focused. We build everything with our users in mind. You have a passion for creating intuitive products that fit customers’ needs. You have good time management skills, which you leverage to work on the right things at the right time.
Pragmatism: You are able to take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve short feedback loops: to analyze, design, and build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather data and feedback and then progress iteratively
Collaboration and communication: The smallest unit we have is a squad. You’ll be working with your teammates in a fully remote setup. Good communication and time management skills are a must.
Solid experience with at least one programming language. We use Go, but if you have familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust or similar then that translates well
Experience with leading and delivering projects from gathering requirements, brainstorming ideas all the way to shipping a product to the customer’s hands in a self-driven and collaborative way
Experience with developing software that runs in the Cloud
or
experience with systems engineering
Experience with being on-call and following the DevOps model
Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others
Familiarity with observability systems, know when to use metrics, logs, traces, to debug a problem.
Comfortable with microservices architecture and distributed systems
Experience and comfort developing with LLMs like Claude and Codex on your day to day
Bonus Points For:
Experience working with Kubernetes
Experience working with queue systems, e.g. the Kafka protocol
Been a user of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles (including on-call for your team at a previous employer or just using these tools on hobby/homelab projects)
Familiarity with the concept of infrastructure as code

BUILD SOMETHING PEOPLE LOVE
Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator. The company offers a full suite of simple, sophisticated financial products across managed investing, do-it-yourself trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, spending and saving. Wealthsimple currently serves more than 4 million Canadians and holds over $155 billion in assets under administration. The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Partner with product designers and the creative team to bring our product to life at our bi-annual Wealthsimple Presents live events, building and refining prototypes that bring product moments to life on stage, and translating product UI into more stylized storytelling assets where the moment calls for it
- Own design for our Product Marketing surfaces including: What's New (in-app), The Report, and Social Wrapped (spotlighting top shipped products/features)
- Create launch and feature visuals for major releases and manage our app store presence.
- Produce animations, static assets, and video (including talking-head-over-product style content) that explain features and educate clients
- Serve as the brand and marketing team’s go-to resource for everything product design related.
- Build and maintain a library of UI assets and product demos that marketing and influencer partners can pull from
- Partner closely with the team who owns the marketing website to product UI elements for product detail pages, making sure the product we’re selling is elevated and showcased at its best
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 6+ years of experience in a design role that spans product and marketing
- Portfolio that includes examples of motion design, marketing design, brand design, or product design with strong production chops
- Is strong at productionizing and can take existing product UI, brand direction, or campaign concepts and turning them into polished, launch-ready assets quickly, rather than originating core product or brand design from scratch
- Build and maintain AI-powered workflows to create scalable, repeatable asset production processes.
- Has hands-on motion and video skills as a core, daily-use part of their craft. Comfortable in After Effects and Premiere (or equivalent), producing everything from lightweight UI animations to more produced explainer/talking-head content
- Is fluent in product design tools (Figma)
- Can move fluidly between product, marketing, and creative, understanding the priorities, constraints, and voice of each without needing much translation
- Has a track record of shipping high-quality, on-brand work fast and independently, managing multiple concurrent requests from different stakeholders (product marketing, growth, brand, dotcom)
- Has sharp taste and an eye for polish, but treats that taste as being in service of clarity and reusability, not personal authorship
- Is a clear, proactive communicator who is comfortable managing intake from multiple teams and setting expectations on scope and timelines
Nice to have:
- Experience building or maintaining a shared asset/component library for cross-team reuse
- Experience working with financial services or other regulated-industry marketing content
- Familiarity with social-first video formats and platforms
If you're excited about this role, along with your resume, send us a portfolio or reel that shows:
- Examples of product UI you've translated into marketing/education content
- At least one motion or video piece you led end-to-end
- How you've worked across product, marketing, and creative stakeholders to ship something quickly
