Company Description
We’re http://checkout.comCheckout.com http://Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.
We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.
Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.
If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.
With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.
Checkout.com http://Checkout.com is looking for an ambitious Senior Engineering Manager to join our Disputes team. Our mission is to build the tools, services, and models that help merchants manage and win disputes at scale - reducing the cost and operational burden of chargebacks while protecting revenue for our merchants and our business.
Disputes sit at the intersection of merchant-facing products, complex scheme and regulatory processes, and data-driven decisioning. Our team owns the full stack, anchored by a .NET back end that manages the dispute lifecycle and integrates with card schemes, alongside the front-end experiences merchants use to track and respond to disputes and the machine learning models that predict outcomes and recommend the best action on every case.
We're building for scale, and that scale brings ambiguity, shifting priorities, and the occasional setback - so we're looking for a resilient leader who has built and sustained high-performing teams, learned from failure, and come back stronger. Above all, you'll be someone who drives predictable delivery and operational efficiency: shipping consistently, running systems reliably, and continuously improving how the team works. The ideal candidate has operated across both enterprise and scale-up environments and has a proven track record of driving growth within large, complex, regulated organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team centred on a .NET back end, with front-end and machine learning components, helping engineers establish and validate their understanding of technical architecture and design end-user-centric systems and tools.
- Own predictable, high-velocity delivery — establishing healthy engineering practices, sensible estimation, and a smooth path from idea to production so the team ships consistently and sustainably.
- Drive operational efficiency and reliability by automating processes — including monitoring and alerting — meeting SLAs/SLOs, reducing operational cost, and minimising toil to keep the team focused on high-value work rather t
- Continuously improve delivery and operational metrics (e.g. cycle time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and incident response), using data to identify bottlenecks and raises the bar over time.
- Manage team engineers across various seniority levels and disciplines while staying hands-on when needed. Cultivate an inclusive environment where every team member feels they belong, and mentors them in both their career development and interpersonal skills. Make a good team great, and keep it great..
- Oversee quarterly execution of roadmap delivery, ensuring the team stays focused on the right priorities and manages efficiently through dependencies and cross-functional hurdles.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Operations to deliver solutions for merchant and internal dispute use cases.
- Build and strengthen relationships with engineers, managers, and people leads across multiple teams.
- Operating in a highly regulated financial space, ensure compliance with a range of control frameworks — from internal stakeholders such as InfoSec and Internal
- Audit, to external auditors, card schemes, and regulators.
- Oversee the responsible use of machine learning and AI in dispute decisioning, leading the team to develop the infrastructure, tooling, and governance required to run models safely and at scale in production.
About You
- A resilient leader who has learned from setbacks and failures and consistently comes back stronger, keeping teams steady and delivering through periods of change and ambiguity.
- You thrive on pace. You're energised by a high-growth environment, comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, and you keep the team moving and shipping when priorities shift under you.
- A proven track record of driving predictable delivery and operational efficiency — improving throughput, reliability, and the team's cost of operation, and using metrics to back it up.
- Proven experience building, growing, and sustaining high-performing engineering teams over time — not just standing them up.
- Experience across both enterprise and scale-up environments, with a demonstrated track record of driving growth and delivery within large, complex, regulated organisations.
- A strong back-end engineering background, ideally in .NET / C#, leading teams building scalable, event-driven services and APIs. Comfortable also overseeing front-end and machine learning work, able to earn credibility and make sound trade-offs across disciplines even where you aren't the deepest expert.
- Able to partner with Product Management to assess technical feasibility, provide capacity estimates, and balance new features against architectural health.
- Excellent time management and proactive problem-solving skills.
Technologies we work with
- Back end (primary): .NET / C#, REST APIs, event-driven and microservice architectures.
- Front end: React, TypeScript.
- Machine learning: Python, model training and serving, and the infrastructure to run models in production.
- Data & platform: SQL, plus experience designing batch and stream data-processing systems.
- Cloud & tooling: AWS and/or GCP, Docker, Terraform, and observability tooling such as Datadog.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Kafka, and CI/CD pipelines is highly beneficial.

As a Senior Brand Designer at Circle, you'll play a key role in shaping one of our most valuable assets—our brand.
This role sits within our Design Studio team—the creative engine behind all of Circle's marketing design—and focuses on evolving how Circle looks, feels, and communicates across every customer touchpoint. From product launches and campaigns to events, advertising, social, motion, and visual identity systems, you'll help create a brand that's instantly recognizable and impossible to ignore.
We're looking for someone with exceptional visual craft, outstanding creative taste, and experience building brands for modern software, AI, or technology companies. You understand how to communicate complex products through clear, compelling visual storytelling, creating work that's both strategically effective and visually memorable.
You'll think beyond individual assets, building scalable visual systems while constantly pushing the brand forward. Working closely with Marketing, Product Marketing, Motion, Content, and Leadership, you'll help define how Circle shows up to the world.
We're building a brand that stands alongside the very best in technology—not just one that's functional, but one that's instantly recognizable, culturally relevant, and sets the standard for modern software companies.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Help define and evolve Circle's visual identity across every customer-facing touchpoint.
- Lead the creative direction for major product launches, campaigns, announcements, and strategic initiatives.
- Design scalable brand systems that work across web, social, paid advertising, events, presentations, email, video, and product marketing.
- Develop compelling visual narratives for new product launches, translating complex software and AI capabilities into simple, engaging brand experiences.
- Create campaign identities, illustrations, iconography, graphics, presentations, and launch assets that elevate the Circle brand.
- Develop storyboards and creative concepts for launch videos, motion pieces, and product announcements, collaborating closely with motion designers throughout production.
- Partner with Product Marketing, Content, Motion, and Leadership to define the visual direction for major company moments.
- Build reusable brand systems, templates, and creative frameworks that improve consistency and speed across the company.
- Continuously evolve Circle's design language by researching emerging trends across branding, AI, motion, and digital design.
- Present creative concepts confidently, communicate design rationale, and iterate based on feedback.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail, ensuring every asset reflects the quality expected from the Circle brand.
- Research emerging AI-powered creative tools and identify opportunities to improve our design workflows.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Strong alignment with our values (find them on our Careers page if you haven't already).
- You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.
- 5+ years of experience as a Brand Designer, Visual Designer within software, AI, or technology companies.
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional brand design across campaigns, product launches, visual identities, and digital experiences.
- Experience building and evolving brands for modern software companies, with a strong understanding of how to communicate complex products through simple, engaging design.
- Strong understanding of SaaS, AI, and technology design trends, with an eye for where modern brands are heading—not just where they are today.
- Experience developing creative concepts and storyboards for product launches, brand films, motion graphics, or campaign videos.
- Experience collaborating closely with motion designers and understanding how static design translates into animation and storytelling.
- Exceptional typography, composition, colour, layout, and visual storytelling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of scalable design systems and visual identity frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills—you can confidently present ideas, explain creative decisions, and collaborate asynchronously across teams.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple creative projects simultaneously.
- Curiosity around AI-powered creative workflows and excitement to experiment with emerging technologies.
- You obsess over craft and sweat every detail, while always thinking about the bigger picture—how every asset contributes to building a memorable, category-defining brand.

-Разработка сервисов и интеграций в составе команды высоконагруженного проекта. -Разработка нового функционала и развитие существующего под руководством старших разработчиков.
Location: San Francisco, California
Workplace: Hybrid
ABOUT SENTRY
Software runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building.
Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced engineering leader to own one of the most critical areas within Platform: the runtime and stateful systems Sentry runs on. You'll lead multiple engineering teams and Staff engineers responsible for OLTP and OLAP databases, real-time compute and stream processing, blob storage, and distributed caching.
These systems power Sentry's products, including Seer, and are mission-critical to the business. When they perform well, every product team moves faster. When they don't, the whole company feels the impact.
You'll set the technical vision across these systems, lead significant architectural changes, and develop the engineering leaders and teams responsible for building and operating them. This role requires someone who brings deep technical judgment, thinks strategically, and has a track record of driving complex engineering initiatives from concept through execution.
You'll have the opportunity to shape both the technical direction and organizational growth of a critical part of Sentry's platform as our products and infrastructure continue to evolve.
This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an expectation of working from our San Francisco office three days per week.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Lead multiple engineering teams and Staff engineers responsible for the runtime and stateful systems supporting Sentry, Seer, and the products built on top of them.
- Set the technical vision and strategy across multiple systems, identifying opportunities to evolve our architecture as the business scales.
- Drive significant architectural changes and technical initiatives, making informed tradeoffs around scalability, reliability, performance, cost, and complexity.
- Provide technical leadership across teams, working closely with senior engineers to evaluate architectural decisions, challenge assumptions, and establish technical direction.
- Own the execution and operational excellence of mission-critical systems, ensuring teams deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing platform components.
- Build and develop a strong engineering organization, including hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering managers and senior technical leaders.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, technical accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner across Platform, Infrastructure, and Product to align priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Anticipate evolving product and infrastructure needs, identifying opportunities to build new platform capabilities and improve existing systems.
YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB IF YOU
- Enjoy solving complex distributed systems problems and have strong opinions about architecture, backed by experience and sound technical judgment.
- Thrive in roles where you're equally responsible for technical direction, execution, and developing engineering leaders.
- Like taking ownership of ambiguous technical challenges, establishing a clear strategy, and bringing teams together to execute.
- Are passionate about building large-scale systems where reliability, performance, and efficiency directly impact the business.
- Enjoy partnering with senior engineers, challenging technical assumptions, and helping teams make thoughtful architectural decisions.
- Take pride in building high-performing teams, developing future leaders, and raising the engineering bar.
- Want to shape the runtime foundation supporting Sentry's products and AI capabilities for years to come.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering, with significant experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Director-level engineering management experience, or equivalent senior engineering leadership experience overseeing multiple teams at comparable scale and complexity.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The AI Quality engineering team at Circle owns the foundation for measuring, diagnosing, and improving the quality of Circle's AI-powered features. This team focuses on building the infrastructure to measure, diagnose, and improve production AI systems, rather than ML research or model training.
We're looking for a Lead Engineer to help us build out the evaluation frameworks, observability tooling, and diagnostic infrastructure that tell us whether our AI Agents are working well, where to improve them, and how to make them faster and more cost-efficient.
This is a hands-on player-coach role. You’ll also lead and manage the AI Quality engineering team, with an ambitious and growing roadmap.
If you're excited about making AI systems work reliably, efficiently, and at scale, this is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Build and own our evaluation infrastructure. Design the CI/CD pipelines, scorers, and datasets that tell us whether Circle's AI agents (planners, tool-callers, and sub-agents) are actually working, from a single tool call to a full multi-turn conversation.
- Diagnose exactly where quality breaks down. Trace failures across the agent pipeline including plan creation vs. execution, tool selection, tool trajectory in complex areas like workflows, site builder, and analytics. Turn what you find into prototypes that solve the issue or identify priorities for AI core engineering can help.
- Grow the datasets that make evaluation possible. Stand up annotation workflows and build out AI-generated and simulated conversations so we can cover more of the product faster than manual labeling alone.
- Run structured experiments across prompts, models, and the agent harness. Evaluate new and open-source models against our production baseline, build the framework we use to decide when to shift models, and chase cost and latency wins through model swaps, caching, and routing by plan complexity.
- Lead and grow the AI Quality engineering team. Set technical direction and manage day-to-day priorities, all while staying hands-on in the code yourself.
- Partner closely with AI Core engineering. Work with the engineers building Circle's AI products so they have real confidence that their changes are actually improving quality, not just shipping.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software, ideally including LLM-powered agents that take real actions in a product. You've worked on complex, tool-using systems (multiple tools, planning or orchestration, sub-agents) not just simple, single-turn assistants, and you can walk us through something you shipped and how you knew it was actually working.
- Comfortable in Ruby on Rails / Python or ready to pick them up quickly. Ruby on Rails is our production system and the foundation that Circle’s AI Agents are built on and proficiency in Python is a strong plus, especially for the data and evaluation side of the work.
- Experience building evaluation or observability infrastructure for ML/AI systems. You've built eval pipelines, scorers, dashboards, or CI/CD for evals before and have experience with evaluation frameworks like Braintrust, LangSmith, or similar.
- Experience designing datasets, annotation workflows, or labeling pipelines for ML/AI evaluation. You know how to turn raw examples into a dataset you can trust through human annotation, AI-generated data, or simulation.
- Learn fast, experiment aggressively, and thrive in a highly dynamic environment. You’ll need to be comfortable running a lot of experiments and letting the results settle the argument, including the ones that don't work (which will be many of them in the beginning).
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity. You’ll need to learn and pick up new technologies when projects require it.
- Strong alignment with our company values https://circle.so/careers.
- You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 https://magoosh.com/english-speaking/english-proficiency-levels-a-guide-to-determining-your-level/ / ILR Level 5 https://www.govtilr.org/.
