About Finom
Finom is a European tech startup headquartered in Amsterdam, and we’re on a journey towards revolutionizing the financial landscape for entrepreneurs worldwide. Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.
We recently closed a €115 million Series C equity round (around $133 million), bringing our total funding to approximately $346 million. This significant investment follows a $105 million growth funding round from General Catalyst, a long-term backer since 2021 known for supporting companies like Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe.
Finom's platform goes beyond traditional banking, offering invoicing and a growing suite of features, including AI-enabled accounting, aiming to simplify financial management for entrepreneurs. We're actively expanding our reach across key EU markets like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.
At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
We're looking for a Senior Android Engineer or Tech Lead who thinks like a product builder — someone who cares deeply about the "why" behind what they're building, not just the tickets in the backlog.
You'll be embedded in a cross-functional domain team (Backend, Mobile, ML/AI, QA, Design, and Product) and own the end-to-end development of features that genuinely matter: company accounts and cash flows, banking transactions, card issuance and management, and AI-enabled accounting. You'll help shape architecture decisions, raise the bar on engineering quality, and mentor the engineers around you.
If you're energized by working at the intersection of great mobile engineering and real product impact — this is the role.
What You’ll Do
Design and build new features for our Android application, used daily by business owners across Europe.
Architect and implement reliable, intuitive solutions for:
Multi-account cash flow management
Banking transactions and payments
Physical and virtual card issuance, activation, and control
AI-powered accounting automation
Build polished, responsive UIs using
Jetpack Compose
.
Take ownership of code quality, performance, and stability — automated testing and thorough code reviews are non-negotiable.
Collaborate closely with Backend, QA, Design, and Product — you'll be shaping solutions end-to-end, not just implementing specs.
Drive technical decisions within your domain, challenge assumptions when needed, and proactively identify opportunities to build better.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and mobile best practices across the team.
Who You Are
You're pragmatic and have a proven track record of shipping products that matter. You communicate clearly across disciplines and thrive in a cross-functional environment where everyone is solving the same customer problem together.
Your experience includes:
Strong knowledge of
Kotlin
(Java knowledge is a plus) and 5+ years of commercial Android development.
Deep understanding of
OOP
,
SOLID
, and
Clean Architecture
.
Solid experience with presentation layer patterns —
MVI
,
MVVM
, and
MVP
— and the ability to choose the right one for the context.
Hands-on experience with our core stack:
Reactive programming & async:
RxJava
,
Kotlin Coroutines / Flow
Dependency injection:
Dagger 2
,
Hilt
, or
Koin
Networking:
Retrofit
Navigation:
Cicerone
,
Jetpack Navigation Component
Modern UI:

Practical experience with
Firebase
(FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics).
Experience with
Feature-module architecture
in production.
Confidence with
Git / GitLab
, including setting up and maintaining
GitLab CI/CD
.
A builder's mentality — you care about the product, the users, and the outcomes, not just the code.
Clear, concise communication in English across technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have
Background in fintech or experience with financial products — you understand the stakes.
Solid grasp of mobile security best practices (especially critical in our domain).
Experience profiling and optimizing UI performance — reducing overdraw, improving recomposition efficiency in Jetpack Compose, and hitting smooth 60/120fps rendering.
Hands-on work with performance tooling:
Android Profiler
,
Perfetto
,
Baseline Profiles
, or similar.

you're proud of.
An active

profile with code you're happy to share.
Hands-on experience with
AI agents and LLM tools
(Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) — setting up agent environments, writing prompts, skills, and behavioral rules.
Experience with
AI-powered IDE tools
(Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) — including agent mode, rules files configuration, and integrating AI into the daily development workflow.
Understanding of model

— knowing which model fits which task and how to manage the context window effectively.
Ability to
evaluate and verify AI-generated output
— using automated tests, linters, and critical review to catch hallucinations and errors.

OOP

, or
Koin
Networking:
Retrofit

Practical experience with
Firebase
(FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics).
Experience with

in production.
Confidence with
Git / GitLab
, including setting up and maintaining

.

Baseline Profiles
, or similar.

HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.
Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
⭐️ THE FOUNDING SALES OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for our first-ever Sales hire in Saudi Arabia — a rare founding opportunity to build Alan's commercial practice in the Kingdom from the ground up.
You will be Alan's flag-bearer in KSA: the person who shapes how we sell, who we sell to, and how we build relationships with companies that want to offer their employees a truly great health experience.
This is not a role for someone looking for a well-defined playbook to execute. It is a role for someone who wants to write the playbook — and who has the experience to do so.
⭐️ YOUR MISSION
You’ll own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach to discovery, demo, offer building, and closing.
At Alan, Account Executives drive deals and close strategic opportunities with prospects. We sometimes handle some customer relationships to ensure the best possible onboarding. You’ll educate prospects, provide inspiring product demos, and onboard key stakeholders, making the transition from prospect to customer seamless.
We expect you to understand and apply the Alan Smart & Soft selling method https://alan.com/fr-fr/blog/tout-alan/a/nos-commerciaux-ne-vendent-pas. This method ensures the prospect experience is an integral part of the overall Alan customer experience—making it pleasant and delightful for everyone. We expect you to be instructive to prospects (Smart), as well as to define the best personalized high-touch strategy that suits best each prospect (Soft).
You’ll also help us grow and improve as a company, challenging us to enhance our product(s), methods, and strategy, and getting involved in initiatives to expand our customer base.
As Founding Sales for KSA, you will also:
- Build Alan's local presence with HR Directors, CFOs, and C-level decision-makers at companies who care about their employees' wellbeing
- Act as the eyes and ears of the company in KSA — feeding market intelligence, prospect feedback, and local insights back to the product and strategy teams
- Shape the sales function in KSA — setting the rituals, tools, and standards that future teammates will build on
- Evangelize Alan's approach in the market, positioning Alan as a trusted and innovative health partner for Saudi employers
- Contribute to Alan globally — leveraging and enriching the playbooks built in France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada
⭐ IS IT YOU WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Are currently allowed to work legally for any employer in KSA, based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh
- Have Saudi citizenship
- Have 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in the tech or SaaS space (you are familiar with product demos, discovery frameworks, complex deal cycles)
- Have demonstrated the ability to prospect, close, and build — not just manage existing accounts
- Are highly autonomous — you thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and don't need a fully built machine to be effective
- Have native or fluent Arabic
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Are analytical, organized, and rigorous — you manage your pipeline with precision
- Have empathy — you genuinely care about understanding and solving the problems of the companies and people you work with
- Are not driven primarily by commissions — you are motivated by impact, ownership, and long-term value creation
For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the C1-D level range https://alan.com/en/careers/a/salary-equity.
If you're still wondering whether this could be the best move for you, take a look at this article https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/sept-ans-chez-alan-pourquoi-je-nai-jamais-%25C3%25A9t%25C3%25A9-aussi-lucie-leflour-gwpce/ from Lucie Leflour, our Sales Lead in France.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS A PLUS. WE CARE ABOUT HAVING A DIVERSITY OF EXPERIENCES, PROFILES AND BACKGROUNDS IN OUR TEAM.
🙌 PERKS & BENEFITS https://alan.com/about/life-at-alan/a/perks
At Alan, we believe that being in good health is a basic need, and it starts with our employees. This is why Alaners are provided with a stimulating environment and perks ensuring they are happy, efficient and spend only high-quality time with co-workers.
Therefore, we offer:
- Competitive base salary — above market, no commission model. We believe in paying well and trusting people to do great work
- Meaningful equity — you are building this from scratch, and you should share in what you create
- A world-class team to lean on — you won't be alone. You'll have the full support of Alan's international sales, product, and operations teams
- Alan's health coverage (of course 😊)
- The tools to do your best work — MacBook, the best software, and an environment built for focus
- Real ownership and impact — you are not a cog in a machine. You are the machine.
- All the tools you need. Top of the range equipment: Macbook Air, keyboard, laptop stand, monitor, and Bose noise-canceling headphones.
- Flexible vacation policy and flexible working hours. Organize your time as you wish.
- Learning & Training opportunities. A highly flexible training policy free books and budget to attend and speak at conferences if the opportunity arises.
- Personal growth through coaching: At Alan, coaching isn't just a perk - it's core to who we are. Every Alaner is paired with a dedicated coach from day one, who helps maximize their impact, nurture engagement, and navigate Alan's values to develop their full potential. Learn more about our coaching culture https://alan.com/en/blog/discover-alan/a/alan-culture-excellence-through-coaching.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WE HIRE PEOPLE, NOT ROLES.
If you're excited about this opportunity but don't check every box, we'd love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply as it can only bring learnings or success.
Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist.
We'll be thrilled to receive your application!

Responsibilities
AI strategy and delivery.
Set the AI strategy for Operations and own its delivery end to end. Find where AI can remove manual work, build the business cases and lead implementation with functional, product and engineering owners. Set common evaluation standards, track benefits and make sure every solution runs with appropriate controls and human oversight.
AI automation.
Treat automation of operational processes as a core objective. Set targets for the share of work automated, prioritise the highest-value processes and measure the capacity released.
Strategy and roadmap.
Own and build the team that translates operational strategy into a prioritised improvement and AI roadmap. Define the problem each initiative addresses, the intended benefit, its dependencies and who is accountable for delivery, and lead delivery of key strategic projects.
Capacity and workforce planning.
Build a consistent approach to capacity and workforce planning. Develop demand forecasts and capacity models that help the business allocate resources.
Process redesign.
Lead cross-functional process redesign, focusing on how work moves between functions and where it can be automated. Work with the Head of Operations, who owns day-to-day process performance, and agree changes with process owners.
Operational controls.
Establish a practical framework for documenting operational controls and coordinating first-line testing. Help process owners identify gaps and track corrective actions, working with Risk and Compliance on the approach.
Portfolio management.
Manage the overall improvement portfolio, making dependencies and resource constraints visible. Bring clear recommendations to the COO and functional leaders when priorities compete or expected benefits no longer justify the work.
Measuring benefits.
Define how improvements will be measured, establish credible starting points and assess the effect of changes on service quality, control performance, capacity and cost.
Requirements
Significant experience in operational strategy, transformation or operational excellence in financial services, fintech, payments or another regulated, high-volume environment.
A proven record of setting an AI or automation strategy and delivering it in an operational setting, from use cases and business cases through to deployment, adoption and measured results such as reduced manual effort or capacity released.

MEET THE TEAM 👥
This role offers direct involvement in how a company is built and run: the choices about products, people, capital and execution that determine its success.
You’ll work with Barney and the leadership team to investigate difficult questions, develop independent recommendations and turn them into results. Your work might range from diagnosing why a product is underperforming to evaluating a new market, shaping a fundraising narrative or leading a company-wide initiative.
The standard is high. You’ll need to get deep into unfamiliar subjects, interrogate the numbers, challenge assumptions and explain your reasoning clearly. You’ll be expected to contribute your own view and take responsibility for what happens next.
As you build trust and context, you’ll take on greater autonomy, represent Barney in important discussions and own substantial work on his behalf. You’ll see how decisions play out and develop your judgement through direct experience.
For someone who intends to found a company, lead a business or become an investor, this is an opportunity to build the operating experience and commercial judgement to do it well.
ABOUT THE ROLE ✍️
We’re hiring a Chief of Staff to partner with our CEO. Working alongside the leadership team, you’ll be the right hand to our CEO, driving the priorities that matter most across Cleo 🌱
- Investigate consequential questions. Analyse markets, products, customer behaviour and business performance. Establish what the evidence says, identify the choices and trade-offs, and make a clear recommendation.
- Own major initiatives. Take priorities off the CEO’s plate and drive them from an ambiguous starting point through to delivery. Work across functions, establish ownership, resolve obstacles and stay accountable for the outcome.
- Improve business performance. Get close to Cleo’s numbers. Identify where results diverge from expectations, work with leaders to understand the causes and help drive a credible response.
- Support fundraising and board decisions. Work with the CEO, Finance and leadership team on rigorous analysis, compelling materials and a clear account of our strategy, performance and capital needs.
- Make leadership time count. Shape discussions around the decisions that matter, prepare useful briefs and follow commitments through to completion. Partner with the CEO’s EA to align his time with his priorities.
- Write and communicate with precision. Produce decision papers, presentations and internal and external communications. Make complex ideas understandable and the reasoning behind recommendations easy to assess.
- Exercise independent judgement. Surface uncomfortable facts, challenge assumptions constructively and explain what would change your view. Build relationships across the business so your recommendations are informed and your work gets done.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 🕵️
We’re looking for someone with exceptional ability, independent judgement and the ambition to take on consequential work. You may have developed these qualities in strategy, finance, technology, research, entrepreneurship or another demanding field. We’ll assess the quality of your thinking, the difficulty of what you’ve taken on and what you personally achieved.
- A record of exceptional achievement. You’ve distinguished yourself through the quality and impact of your work. You can point to difficult problems you solved, significant responsibility you earned and results you personally delivered. We’ll want to understand your contribution and what made the work demanding.
- Intellectual depth and range. You’ve gone deep in at least one area and can get to grips with unfamiliar subjects quickly. You ask incisive questions, reason from first principles and connect ideas across disciplines.
- Independent judgement. You distinguish evidence from assumption, form a clear view and explain your reasoning. You’re comfortable challenging strong opinions, admitting uncertainty and changing your mind when the facts warrant it.
- Analytical and commercial ability. You’re confident working with numbers, interrogating business performance and evaluating trade-offs. You can turn incomplete information into a sound recommendation and connect detailed analysis to its implications for the company.
- A record of execution. You bring structure to open-ended problems and take ownership through to the outcome. You earn cooperation from strong colleagues, resolve obstacles and follow through without needing to be chased.
- Exceptional communication. You write precise, persuasive prose, listen carefully and make complex ideas clear. You can disagree constructively, earn credibility with senior leaders and represent the CEO’s thinking accurately while contributing your own.
- Ambition, composure and low ego. You seek significant responsibility, welcome direct feedback and hold yourself to a demanding standard. You remain effective under pressure, handle sensitive information with discretion and bring care to both consequential decisions and routine preparation.
- Intelligent use of AI. You actively use AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, writing and execution. You test their outputs and retain responsibility for the quality of your work.
We welcome unconventional paths and evidence of excellence from different settings. Be ready to show us how you think, what you’ve built or changed, and what you learned from the results.
What you’ll gain
Direct access to the CEO’s thinking, close work with experienced leaders and the opportunity to see your recommendations tested in a real business. Your responsibility will grow as you demonstrate judgement and deliver results.
You’ll develop a practical understanding of how to set direction, allocate resources, evaluate performance and lead through others at a profitable AI company operating at scale.
