You will have the opportunity to deliver massive impact at a hypergrowth company backed by some of the top investors in fintech, crypto, and SaaS. In January 2026, we closed a $250M Series C led by ICONIQ, valuing Rain at $1.95B, with Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Bessemer Venture Partners, Galaxy Ventures, FirstMark, Lightspeed, Norwest, and Endeavor Catalyst also participating. If you're curious, bold, and excited to help shape a borderless financial future, we'd love to talk.
OUR ETHOS
We believe in an open and flat structure. You will be able to grow into the role that most aligns with your goals. Our team members at all levels have the freedom to explore ideas and impact the roadmap and vision of our company.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Customer Engineering Lead, you’ll manage the customer-facing arm of our engineering org. Working with our existing solutions team, you’ll coordinate process and policies with the post-sales org, spanning implementations, partner success, and account management. We’re looking for a player-coach: you’ll need to get your hands dirty on the frontlines to understand where the gaps and inefficiencies are. Armed with that experience, you’ll grow this function to meet the needs of our global, always-on customer base.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Hands-on from day one: answer technical support tickets, debug partner integrations, and work directly with partners to resolve issues
- Own the technical escalation path from support through engineering, serving as the primary customer advocate within engineering discussions
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to increase operational efficiency - whether that's streamlining ticket triage, accelerating troubleshooting, or enabling the team to handle higher volume without sacrificing quality
- Define and maintain customer engineering artifacts such as documentation, guides, runbooks, and recipes
- Help establish the operating model and collaboration framework between product and post-sales to ensure tickets are resolved within SLAs and gaps are covered
- Partner with platform and product to translate patterns from support tickets, implementation friction, and feature requests into actionable product insights
WHO YOU ARE
- 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or a related technical partner-facing role, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
- Excited by a player-coach role - you're comfortable being in the queue, solving problems directly, while simultaneously building the team and processes around you
- An engineer by trade: you’re comfortable reading and contributing to an enterprise codebase while meeting a high bar of technical excellence
- Excellent communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences - and vice versa
- Experience defining and implementing SLAs and escalation processes, especially cross-functionally to and from engineering teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where you'll need to balance building for scale with solving immediate partner needs
- You lead with empathy and understand that great customer engineering is a competitive advantage
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience at a card issuing platform or payments infrastructure company
- Familiarity with card network operations, BIN management, and transaction processing
- Experience building customer engineering teams and functions

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Agent Strategist https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-strategist-your-phd-in-applied-ai, you own how Sierra's AI agents come to life for our customers — from first pilot to a production agent handling thousands of conversations a day. You sit at the intersection of product, building agents and customer-facing work, and stay just as close to the technology as you are to the people you build for. You transform a customer's thorniest, highest-stakes problems into agents that measurably move their business.
- Own the Agent Development Life Cycle https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-development-life-cycle. Take agents from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, and evaluation, to launch and continuous iteration in production — translating business goals into an agent that outperforms, and tuning relentlessly until it's the best version of itself in the real world. You'll have real ownership and autonomy over the outcome.
- Be the trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders. Sit shoulder-to-shoulder with our customers' executives, understand what success actually means to their business, and shape the AI strategy that gets them there.
- Partner with the customer's working teams day to day. Run working sessions, troubleshoot the agent as issues come up, and make the calls that keep the build on track for launch.
- Directly impact product. Surface unmet needs from your customer work, and feed them back to research and platform to shape where Sierra goes next.
EXAMPLE PROJECTS
These are the kinds of projects that strategists on our team have worked on recently:
- Scope and launch a subscription-retention agent for a large telecommunications or media company that consistently outperforms human agents at saving at-risk customers.
- Stand up an agent for a commerce customer that troubleshoots a broken device end-to-end and personalizes product recommendations in the same conversation.
- Redesign the conversation flows for a financial services agent so it can handle complex, regulated interactions — and convert a pilot into a multi-team production deployment. See our financial services blog https://sierra.ai/blog/five-ways-to-use-ai-agents-financial-services for examples.
- Partner with product on a net-new capability — a new agent architecture or self-service tooling — using a live customer as the design partner.
- Define the evaluation and quality bar for a new agent, then use those metrics to drive a measurable lift in outcome https://sierra.ai/blog/outcome-based-pricing-for-ai-agents week over week.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Customer obsession. Genuine energy being in front of customers — understanding their business and needs, thriving in complex organizations, and building trusted relationships.
- Communication. Clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic problem-solving in ambiguity. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to break down complex problems, spot risks early, and adapt as things change fast.
- Technical aptitude. Comfortable engaging directly with technical concepts - reading API documentation, understanding data models and system architecture, and following engineering tradeoffs in a design discussion.
- Ownership and delivery. A track record of running multiple complex, high-visibility projects at once and driving them to outcomes.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production — hands-on with the tools behind them (eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, prompt engineering) — working closely with technical counterparts.
- You've been a founder, founding team member, or operator — you know how to balance craft, ownership, and speed.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience — and/or an MBA or comparable experience at the intersection of technology and business.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.
WHAT WE OFFER
We want our benefits to reflect our values and offer the following to full-time employees:
- Flexible (unlimited) paid time off
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family
- Life insurance and disability benefits
- Retirement plan dependent on country of employment
- Parental leave
- Fertility and family building benefits through Carrot
- Lunch, as well as delicious snacks and coffee to keep you energized
- Discretionary benefit stipend giving people the ability to spend where it matters most
- Free alphorn lessons
These benefits are further detailed in Sierra's policies, may vary by region, and are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefits plans. Eligible full-time employees can participate in Sierra's equity plans subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
BE YOU, WITH US
We're working to bring the transformative power of AI to every organization in the world. To do so, it is important to us that the diversity of our employees represents the diversity of our customers. We believe that our work and culture are better when we encourage, support, and respect different skills and experiences represented within our team. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description. We strive to evaluate all applicants consistently without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, pregnancy, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, citizenship, or any other legally protected class.

Blockstream was founded in 2014 by Dr. Adam Back and a group of cryptographers and engineers passionate about Bitcoin and its potential to transform financial infrastructure. Today, Blockstream builds secure Bitcoin and Layer-2 technologies used by banks, financial institutions, and enterprises worldwide.
We are seeking a Director, Platform & Integration Lead, a senior leadership role responsible for defining how client platforms are technically realized across systems, data environments, and Blockstream infrastructure.
This role operates in close partnership with the Director, Industry Lead, Financial Services, translating industry-specific solution strategies and reference architectures into scalable, production-ready platform implementations. While the Industry Lead defines what should be built and why based on market and client needs, the Platform & Integration Lead defines how those solutions are architected, integrated, and delivered at scale.
Acting as the bridge between the Head of Solutions and the Head of Delivery, this role ensures that architectural designs are executable, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise-grade integration standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Lead the architecture and integration of multi-system client platforms, connecting banking systems, enterprise infrastructure, and Blockstream technologies
- Partner closely with:
- Director, Industry Lead, Financial Services to translate industry solution strategy and reference architectures into platform designs
- Head of Solutions to refine platform architecture and technical direction
- Head of Delivery to ensure systems are buildable, testable, and scalable in production
- Define and own the platform integration strategy, including:
- API architecture and system connectivity
- Data flows, data models, and platform orchestration
- Event-driven architectures and messaging systems
- Cross-platform interoperability standards
- Design how APIs, data pipelines, platform services, and AI-enabled capabilities interact to form unified institutional platforms
- Establish and govern integration frameworks and reusable patterns aligned with industry reference architectures defined by the Industry Lead
- Guide engineering teams across:
- DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment environments
- System integration, testing, and validation
- Platform scalability, reliability, and performance
- Act as the senior authority for cross-platform dependencies, integration decisions, and system-level trade-offs
- Ensure alignment between solution architecture (what is designed) and technical delivery (what is built and operated)
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- 10+ years of experience in platform architecture, enterprise integration, or large-scale system implementation
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex, multi-system platforms in banking, fintech, or enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in:
- API-first architecture
- Microservices and event-driven systems
- Enterprise data platforms and data integration
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to translate high-level solution architectures into executable platform designs, working across architecture and engineering teams
- Experience collaborating with industry/domain leaders and client-facing architects to operationalize solution strategies
- Strong understanding of system interoperability, integration patterns, and distributed system design
- Languages: German or Swiss German and English required; French and/or Italian a plus
- Location: Switzerland (Zurich/Zug preferred)
Nice To Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
- Strong knowledge of Bitcoin and blockchain technologies
- Experience integrating digital asset infrastructure into traditional banking systems
- Background in treasury management, corporate finance, or digital asset custody
- Experience with FIX, OMS, PMS, fund administration, accounting, or market data systems
- Experience working with or advising banks, asset managers, and institutional clients
- Exposure to traditional payment systems and cross-border payment flows
- Experience supporting or scaling go-to-market teams in fintech or digital assets

This role requires a balanced leader, someone who can grow and manage a high-performing team, while also maintaining strong technical depth to guide architecture, review designs, and support engineers at a code level when needed.
You will operate across frontend-heavy developer experiences (JS, React, React Native) as well as backend/platform systems, shaping solutions that are both technically sound and highly usable for developers.
What You’ll Do
Lead, grow, and mentor a team of engineers, building a high-performing, ownership driven culture
Drive delivery of developer platforms and tools used across PlayStation
Provide technical leadership at both code and system design levels, especially for frontend and developer-facing systems
Guide the design and evolution of complex, scalable systems across frontend, backend, and platform layers
Partner with AI/ML, QE, System Software, and Product teams to align on priorities and execution
Influence cross-team technical decisions and ensure strong alignment across partner organizations
Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform strategy
Ensure high-quality developer experiences by focusing on usability, performance, and reliability

Strong technical background with hands-on understanding of frontend systems (JavaScript, React, React Native) and solid backend/platform fundamentals
Ability to operate at code-level depth when needed (design reviews, debugging, guiding engineers)
Proven experience designing and delivering complex, distributed systems
Track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
Experience working on developer tools, internal platforms, or productivity systems
Strong ability to influence and align stakeholders across teams
Excellent communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Nice to Have
Experience with Python or backend services supporting developer platforms
Experience with AI/ML-driven workflows or developer tooling
Background in performance profiling and or developer ecosystems
Experience in large-scale, multi-team environments
You will operate in a role that requires leadership, technical depth, and cross-org influence

ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
We are looking for an engineer with strong experience in machine learning and solid foundations in math and computer science to join our growing Post-Training team at Baseten.
THE ROLE
Custom models are instrumental to the success of Baseten customers. By inference volume, the overwhelming majority of traffic at Baseten is to and from models that have been post-trained in some way, whether that be through reinforcement learning, supervised finetuning, a recent technique from the literature, or an in-house research technique from Baseten. The Post-Training team is responsible for the success of our customers’ post-trained models, and we employ a wide array of techniques to produce models that are more efficient and higher quality than even the biggest closed source models for the customer’s specific needs.
Your role as a research engineer is to build the in-house tooling to support all of this. We care about training a wide spectrum of different model architectures with a variety of techniques efficiently and at scale. At times this involves zooming deep into a particular technical topic, but more often it involves working across the stack as a whole - systems-level concepts like Kubernetes, cgroups, storage systems, and networking topologies, as well as PyTorch distributed tensor computation, and GPU kernels.
The Manifesto: https://labs.baseten.co/manifesto
RECENT RESEARCH
- Dense, on-policy or both? https://www.baseten.co/research/dense-on-policy-or-both/
- Repeated kv cache for long-running agents https://www.baseten.co/research/repeated-kv-cache-for-long-running-agents/
- Distillation without the dark – replicating black-box on-policy distillation on Baseten https://www.baseten.co/research/distillation-without-the-dark/
We don’t have a rigid set of skills, but here’s some of what we’re looking for:
- A deep understanding of modern ML techniques and tools for training transformers
- Advanced experience in a tensor/array computation library like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax, or similar
- A detailed understanding of transformer training parallelism strategies like data parallelism, sharded data parallelism, tensor parallelism, pipeline parallelism, context parallelism
- The experience and knowledge to profile and improve the performance of a distributed GPU program in PyTorch or a similar library
- The ability to perform roofline analysis on a transformer training setup
- A willingness to dive into messy problems, work with researchers, derive specifications by asking important questions, and execute
- Familiarity with HPC and distributed computing platforms like Slurm, Ray, Kubernetes, and Dask
- Familiarity with cluster networking technology like Infiniband, RoCE, GPUDirect
- Solid fundamentals in operating systems concepts like processes, files, kernel drivers, containerization, and networking protocols
- A sense of creativity and willingness to ask difficult questions about our approach, assumptions, and tooling choices
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.
Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law (by example, the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, where applicable).

GiveWell’s mission is to help people in need as much as we can by researching the most cost‑effective ways to save and improve lives, sharing our work openly, and directing donations to the programs we believe will do the most good. Our work, which focuses on global health and well-being, is funded by tens of thousands of donors who rely on our research to inform their giving. We’ve grown from directing $1.5 million in 2010 to directing more than $400 million in 2025. We anticipate our total grantmaking is likely to approach or even exceed $1 billion this year, and we are working toward a future that could be several times that scale. Through years of deliberate groundwork, we’ve been growing our research capacity and scope in order to direct substantially more funding to the most impactful opportunities we can find.
Summary
GiveWell's senior research staff are the key decision makers for hundreds of millions of dollars in grantmaking, and we think growing that team is one of the most important things we can do to increase our impact. We're seeking one or more Senior Recruiters to help us do that.
Finding senior research staff is a hard problem for a couple reasons:
The talent pool for GiveWell researchers basically doesn’t exist as a defined group. You can’t go to one type of program, industry, or a few obvious competitors to build a reliable pipeline. The people who succeed here come from a wide range of backgrounds — economics PhDs, policy analysts, management consultants, medical doctors, neuroscientists, primate biologists, etc. — and the roles don't have clean analogues elsewhere. What they share is a set of hard-to-measure cognitive skills and quantitative fluency that doesn’t show up reliably on resumes.
Our process is very competitive. The offer rate for senior research roles is less than one in a thousand.
We want you to figure out where to find strong candidates, improve our assessment process, and do the hands-on work of sourcing, screening, and closing offers. You'll work very closely with our research leadership team. We're most excited about finding someone who helps us make better decisions about finding great talent — and hire them faster.
The role
You'd work closely with our manager, research recruiting and the team to own recruiting for some of our
Researcher
, Program Officer,
Senior Researcher
, and Senior Program Officer roles. A few problems we’ll want you to think about:
After candidates apply, is our assessment process effective?
Our offer rate for senior roles is below 0.1%. That might mean we’re extremely selective. It might also mean we’re losing good candidates somewhere in the funnel. You’ll dig into our data and find answers (How well do early screening scores predict work trial performance? What are the most common rejection reasons, and are they signal or noise? How did past hires actually turn out?). You’ll help us develop good heuristics about what to do in situations when candidates’ signals are mixed.
Where do we even find good candidates?
The ideal GiveWell researcher doesn’t come from one degree program, industry, or competitor. You’ll think about where to look and go after them. And you’ll continually develop new pipelines with creative methods (running structured referral conversations with our researchers, scouring conference guest lists, using sourcing tools creatively, or maybe vibe-coding your own).
How can we use data to make better decisions?
Right now, we don’t have great visibility into which sourcing channels, process changes, or pipeline stages are driving results. You’ll track data, run analyses, and help us make evidence-based decisions about where to put effort. In some cases, you might find out that we don’t have the right data architecture to answer important questions, so you’ll build it.
What are ways our hiring process could be much better?
This is harder to describe because it covers ~every strategic and tactical question we face. We want you to be thinking about all of it. Things like: Are we overweighting particular qualities and losing promising candidates without noticing? How could we run experiments on our hiring processes (randomization, A/B testing, sourcing campaigns) that actually give us useful information?
You’ll also do a fair amount of bread-and-butter recruiting work: screening applications, writing outreach emails, and interviewing candidates. We think that sort of work will keep you close to the data and help you develop strong pattern recognition.
About you
You’re excited about GiveWell's mission and methods.
You think GiveWell is doing something special, not just generically “doing good.” You can explain what makes GiveWell different.
You’re careful and truth-seeking with your beliefs.
For example, if a hiring manager says we need to find “scrappy” people, you’re likely to ask “Why do you believe that?” or “What does scrappy mean?” instead of uncritically agreeing. You’re quick to update your beliefs by picking up new information and asking sharper questions. You can probably tell us about times when you’ve changed your mind about important things.
You're unusually curious and analytical.
When you get invested in a question, you keep trying to find the right answer after many other people would have stopped. You ground your beliefs in data when possible and hedge appropriately when you’re not confident.
You have very high standards.
We have a high competence bar for our research team, and you’ll need to uphold that and own your decisions about applications that do and don’t meet our bar.
You’re entrepreneurial and high agency.
You figure things out. You have a history of solving problems. You’re very resourceful. You’re more likely to make the mistake of moving too fast than moving too slow. You'd rather try something imperfect and learn from it than wait for a perfect plan.
You're direct.
You say what you actually think even when it's uncomfortable.
You’re good at communicating in writing.
You're concise, clear, and you don't hide behind jargon. You probably enjoy an effective memo.
If you think people who know you well would agree that many of the qualities above describe you, we’d like you to apply.
Qualifications
We care much more about the qualities described above than any specific background. That said, some things that might help:
Experience in recruiting, talent operations, research operations, or a generalist role at a mission-driven organization
Comfort with data — spreadsheets and basic quantitative analysis
Strong written communication
Experience working closely with executive-level leadership
Familiarity with global health, development economics, effective altruism, or adjacent fields is a plus but not required
Recruiting experience is welcome but not required. Some of the best people in comparable roles at peer organizations came in without it. And we’ll support you if you want to move on to other things at GiveWell after making progress on our research recruiting. There's always a place here for generalists who are good at solving hard problems, and we have a history of developing high performers into different roles across our org.
Key Questions
What are some of the reasons I might not like this role?
GiveWell has a unique approach to hiring,
and it’s possible that you’ll dislike it. For example, we tend to lean heavily into work trials and finding empirical evidence about the candidates we hire. We are rigorous in how we evaluate candidates, and hold really high standards, which can lead to longer hiring rounds with more steps than what is typical elsewhere. We’re extremely quality focused and would rather hold out for the right candidate than settle on someone who’s “mostly right.”
You’ll need to deeply understand our work and culture to succeed.
We want you to be able to speak with candidates about our work and what makes GiveWell special, and provide useful input to hiring managers when we’re developing assessments and evaluating candidates.
You will be expected to hunt, not just farm.
While we receive a high volume of inbound applicants, we are looking for recruiters who effectively source and attract candidates, not just wait for them to trickle in.
You’ll be collaborating with leaders with high expectations.
We’re a founder-led, performance-driven culture and you’ll be collaborating with our executive team regularly in this role. Strong partnerships will depend on you building trust, leading with curiosity, and reliably delivering results.
You’ll be running hiring rounds from start to finish.
We consider this a full-lifecycle role, which means you should be comfortable with things like scheduling, building out roles in Greenhouse, and day-to-day coordination with candidates. While you might have support from more junior colleagues, you’ll be expected to capably manage your own pipelines.
What does growth look like in this role?
GiveWell’s growing, and you’re going to help shape that. Your growth will be tied directly to the impact created by the people you help hire. Beyond day-to-day recruiting, you’ll have the opportunity to work on more strategic projects, including shaping our overall hiring approach and improving our employer brand. In this role you’ll also have significant exposure to executive leadership and many corners of our business. The talent acquisition team is doubling in 2026, which means there are clear opportunities for mentorship and potentially growing into a team leader.
What does this interview process entail?
We'll use a combination of interviews, written exercises, and work trials to assess the qualities described above. Past versions have looked like:
Simulating a hiring manager intake conversation
Walking through a sourcing strategy for a hard-to-fill role
Reviewing a job description or process and offering a critique
Writing a candidate outreach email or internal communication
We'll share more specific details if we invite you to move forward, but our current plan is:
Screen with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
Career history interview with the Manager, Talent Acquisition
Work trial, which will include live conversations and written work
Values interview with VP, People
Final conversation with Manager, Talent Acquisition

Team structure
This role sits on GiveWell's People team and reports to our Manager of Talent Acquisition. Day-to-day, you'd work in close partnership with our Research Program Director, who owns senior research hiring decisions and is part of our Research Leadership Team. You'd collaborate regularly with other members of the People and Research teams on sourcing and candidate evaluation.
We'll likely also want you to attend research team meetings, develop 1:1 relationships with research team members, and potentially join research team-building retreats. We’ll be interested in ~any kind of team embedding that helps you build useful context.

About GiveWell
GiveWell is dedicated to finding and evaluating highly cost-effective global health and development opportunities, and we publish all the work, reasoning, and uncertainties behind our funding decisions. Our
giving funds
enable donors to contribute to the most impactful and cost-effective programs our researchers identify.
GiveWell is one of the world’s largest private funders of global development efforts. Trusted annually by tens of thousands of donors, GiveWell searches for highly cost-effective programs that save or improve lives the most. Since 2007, more than 150,000 donors have given over $2.6 billion through GiveWell to the most promising programs its research has identified, which we estimate will save more than
340,000 lives
.
GiveWell is most well-known for recommending a small number of
Top Charities
, which currently support
seasonal malaria chemoprevention
,
insecticide-treated nets
,
vaccine incentivization
, and
vitamin A supplementation
. However, most of our research capacity and grantmaking is devoted to
cost-effective opportunities outside of those programs
.
GiveWell
grants
have:
Helped governments
navigate changes to the funding landscape
and implement high-impact health programs, like
HIV/syphilis screening and treatment
for pregnant people in Zambia and Cameroon.
Sought to scope and scale promising interventions that don’t have clear existing implementers. We are supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future. For example, we
funded a program
to prevent tuberculosis among young children in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program.
Provided funding to ensure that programs that recently faced foreign aid funding cuts could continue, like
healthcare support and malnutrition treatment
in northern Cameroon.
Funded program delivery alongside strengthened monitoring and evaluation, as in our grants to support
treatment of clubfoot
and to
evaluate the program
.
Tested our
assumptions and refined our understanding
through further research and data collection, including
improved estimates of disease burden
and studies on
the effect of water chlorination on mortality
and
the impact of a tree-planting program on farmers’ income
.
We make our reasoning public and transparent so others can challenge it (sometimes we even
pay people to point out our errors
). We go to unusual lengths to check our assumptions and assess our impact, including
funding research
to address our uncertainties and gathering
independent monitoring and evaluation data
about the programs we support. We
change
our minds when the evidence demands it. For more about GiveWell, listen to Ezra Klein’s
recent interview
with GiveWell’s co-founder and CEO Elie Hassenfeld.

About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
About the Role
We’re building a new Feature Engineering Platform that will be the front door to ML development at global scale. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll help build a seamless experience for ML practitioners across the company — from experimentation and exploration to deployment and monitoring.
Our mission is to make machine learning accessible and intuitive without compromising on power or performance. You’ll work on a layered platform that supports both high-level declarative workflows and lower-level imperative APIs, all integrated into the environments our users already work in (like notebooks and internal sandboxes).
What You’ll Do
Build and evolve APIs, SDKs, and platform integrations that power feature engineering workflows.
Help shape user-facing tools to make the platform approachable for all skill levels.
Collaborate across the ML lifecycle — from data ingestion to feature serving — and integrate tightly with our central Data Control Plane.
Contribute to platform reliability, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Solid engineering background, ideally in platform, data, or ML-adjacent teams.
Comfortable working with backend systems, APIs, and ideally some exposure to distributed compute (e.g. Spark, Flink).
Empathy for users and interest in building abstractions that remove friction.
Curious and collaborative mindset — eager to learn from others and contribute broadly.
Experience with ML tooling, or data pipelines is a plus.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.
