About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Claude App Infrastructure owns the reliability, experience, and agentic capabilities of claude.ai. We're the platform team for Anthropic's flagship consumer product, responsible for the serving architecture that keeps Claude available at scale, the conversation experience, and the infrastructure that lets every product team at Anthropic ship into claude.ai safely and fast. When the product grows at hyper scale, we're the team that makes sure it feels the same or better.
Beyond the foundation, we're building the agentic layer that turns claude.ai from a chat surface into an execution surface: task execution, personalization, browser use, and server-side tools. This is where the next generation of the product gets built: the primitives that let Claude act in the world, not just respond. We believe reliability and velocity are the same problem, and our job is to build the systems that make both inevitable.
Key responsibilities
Design and build sandboxed compute environments where Claude can safely execute code, access tools, and interact with external services
Build state management systems for long-running agent tasks, handling checkpoints, recovery, and resumption across failures
Develop authentication and authorization frameworks for delegated access, so Claude can act on behalf of users securely
Create observability and debugging tools for agent execution, so we understand what Claude did, why, and how to make it better
Partner closely with product and research teams to define what's possible and ship it
Minimum qualifications
Experience building distributed systems, infrastructure, or platform services at scale
Comfort building cloud native infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure
Experience with containers, sandboxing, or secure execution environments (e.g., gVisor, Firecracker, V8 isolates)
Write clean, maintainable code in Python, Go, Rust, or a similar language
Care about security, isolation, and building systems that fail safely
Preferred qualifications
Comfort with ambiguity and greenfield work where you help shape the architecture
Interest in problems that don't have existing playbooks
Experience building multi-tenant execution platforms or serverless infrastructure
Background in security engineering, sandboxing, or isolation technologies
Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems (Temporal, Airflow, Step Functions)
Experience with state machines, checkpointing, or durable execution patterns
Low-level systems experience (Linux internals, eBPF, container runtimes)
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$320,000
—
$485,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

The role
We’re
hiring a senior, hands-on Product Manager to join WooCommerce Payments and take ownership of a defined area within our payments products and partner integrations.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Product, and work day-to-day with engineering, design, support, and partnerships. This role is deeply executional. You’ll spend much of your time in the work: in Linear writing and refining issues, triaging bugs and incidents, reviewing and shaping flows in Figma, creating lightweight prototypes, and writing briefs or PRDs when they’re needed.
Payments at WooCommerce run at a serious scale—billions in total payment volume—and the quality of this experience directly affects merchant revenue, shopper conversion, and the success of Woo’s commercial engine. This role sits right where reliability, trust, and execution matter most.
What you’ll work on
Own product direction and execution for a key part of the payments product area, with clear goals, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
Improve merchant and shopper experiences across onboarding, checkout, refunds and disputes, payouts, reporting, and overall reliability.
Raise the quality bar by reducing failures and friction, lowering support volume, and improving product ratings and merchant trust.
Use data, support signals, and merchant feedback to decide what to work on next, define success measures, and make tradeoffs explicit.
Work closely with priority payments partners (including Stripe and PayPal) to improve integrations, ship changes, manage dependencies, and resolve issues.
Keep stakeholders aligned through clear, direct writing and communication about progress, risks, and decisions.
What we’re looking for
7+ years in product roles, with senior IC experience owning complex problem spaces and influencing cross-functional teams through clarity of communication and precision of execution.
4+ years in payments or fintech, ideally on products operating at scale; experience with large or global launches is a plus.
Strong product judgment. You can make good calls in messy situations and don’t need perfect information to move forward.
Comfort working on critical, high-trust systems where reliability matters and small changes can have outsized impact.
Ability to work deeply with engineers and designers on complex problems, including technical constraints and tradeoffs.
Strong analytical habits and a practical approach to metrics, dashboards, and instrumentation.
Clear written and verbal communication in a distributed, async environment.
Familiarity with WooCommerce,
WordPress
, or open-source ecosystems is a plus.
Salary range: $170,000-$240,000 USD.
Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
We are searching for high-caliber candidates with the skills and qualities to have a net positive for Automattic. Pay will reflect the potential contribution and the impact you can bring, which may, in some cases, go beyond the range stated.

As part of our Interactive Avatars Team, you’ll work on cutting-edge research with a clear focus on turning breakthrough ideas into real product capabilities. You’ll join a team that moves fast, iterates often, and builds models that ship and make a meaningful impact. Example tasks and responsibilities include:
- Adapt diffusion models to incorporate diverse conditioning signals (e.g., audio, motion, interaction cues).
- Develop methods for streaming infinitely long video sequences at real-time rates.
- Work on the perceptual layer of interactive agents, including understanding user audio and generating appropriate contextual reactions.
- Improve lip-sync accuracy, motion realism, and overall visual quality in video diffusion models.
- Build robust evaluation frameworks and test suites to enable continuous quality tracking.
- Collaborate closely with our data team to define data needs and ensure high-quality datasets.
- Stay up to date with research in world models, interactive human/agent modeling, diffusion models, and related areas.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Comfortable owning and executing on the responsibilities listed above.
- Strong ML (e.g., diffusion, GANs, VAEs) and computer vision background with relevant industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with diffusion models (ideally avatar-centric or video-focused) and up to date with recent advances.
- Proficient in PyTorch and familiar with modern ML frameworks and tooling.
- Strong Python engineering skills, confident with git and version control, and a commitment to clean, maintainable research code.
- Outcome-driven, detail-oriented, and motivated to push state-of-the-art research into real product impact.
- Clear communicator of hypotheses, experiments, and results.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
- Experience with audio-conditioned video diffusion models and deep knowledge of recent video DiT architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to own the full model development pipeline end to end, from data preparation to model design, training, and evaluation.
- A strong publication record in areas such as world models, interactive agents, or video diffusion models.
