How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Traditional PR is fading — we go directly to our audience. This role brings together what used to be two separate seats, communications and social media, into one mid-to-senior, hands-on role: owning Supabase's voice in the channels where developers actually pay attention, and building our founders' presence in them.
"New media" here means modern and direct, not traditional press — we care far more about getting our founders onto the right podcasts and YouTube channels than landing a New York Times placement. It's part comms, part social operator, with a sharper edge than a typical polite PR hire: someone willing to put an opinion out there and push a little rather than always play it safe. But it's not just a social media job either — this person also needs the poise and technical credibility to lead comms through genuinely high-stakes moments, like a major incident, where reporters, investors, and customers all need a calm, credible, technically fluent voice at the same time.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Make sure we're part of the current conversation and are going directly to our audience — new media over old-world press
- Own and execute our new media strategy
- Run and grow Supabase's X + LinkedIn accounts, hands on keyboard
- Help build the accounts of our founders and team — including ghostwriting in their voice
- Explore and exploit unconventional channels and formats
- Book our cofounders on the most known shows, podcasts, and YouTube channels in our space
- Work directly with DevRel and the PMM team on launches and Select
- Manage comms around incidents, funding, and other high-stakes moments — crisis comms handled with poise and technical credibility (this is key)
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Are an excellent writer with a distinctive voice — equally strong posting as yourself and ghostwriting for others
- Have a track record of growing accounts, ideally for a technical audience
- Unconventional thinker — willing to put an opinion out there and push a little, with the judgment to know when
- Seasoned enough for the serious moments — incidents, funding, press — calm, credible, and technically fluent
- High agency — you're probably already doing a version of this somewhere scrappier
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.
- ESOP
Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.
- Tech Allowance
Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.
- Health Benefits
Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.
- Annual Off-Sites
Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.
- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.
- ~400 team members
- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)
- 540,000+ community members
We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

An overview of this role
As the Corporate Development Director, you'll help influence how GitLab invests to win: what we build, what we buy, where we partner, and what we should not pursue. This role sits within the Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships team, reporting to the VP, Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships.
This role straddles strategy and M&A engagements. You'll lead research that frames GitLab's options: mapping the markets in and around our AI-powered DevSecOps platform, testing where we have a right to win, and turning that into clear recommendations for the executive team. When the answer is to acquire, you'll drive the deal process end to end, from outreach through close and integration.
Success here is not measured by deal count. It looks like sharper strategic choices: a well-reasoned point of view on our priority markets, investment theses that product and executive leaders rely on, acquisitions that speed up the roadmap when buying is the right answer, and an educated no when it isn't. You'll own the wider market perspective rather than individual product categories, and work with the team's Analyst on the research behind it.
What you'll do
Strategy and research
Own the wider market view.
Research the broader market GitLab competes in, beyond specific product categories: competitive dynamics, AI-native entrants, technology shifts and where value is moving. Collaborate with the team's Analyst on the research and turn the findings into a clear point of view on where GitLab should play.
Build an investment thesis for each focus area.
Work with Product and Engineering leaders to define the problems worth solving, the capabilities GitLab needs, and what it would cost in time and money to get there on our own.
Own the competitive and landscape view.
Maintain market maps and a current read on GitLab's competitors: their strategy, product direction, positioning, pricing, and M&A and funding activity. Produce competitor analyses that show where we lead, where we're exposed and how rivals are likely to move. Flag shifts by competitors, hyperscalers and AI labs that change our options, and bring the implications to Product and the executive team.
Define where GitLab should not play.
Identify adjacencies that dilute focus and markets where the economics or competition work against us. Make the case for a no with the same rigor as a yes.
Build, buy or partner
Run the build, buy, partner analysis.
For each strategic gap, compare the options side by side on speed, cost, risk, control and strategic fit, and bring a clear recommendation.
Deliver strategic clarity to
executives and the Board.
Produce short strategy memos/decks and business cases that set out the decision, the trade-offs and what we give up with each path.
Feed company strategy and planning.
Bring an outside-in view of the market and the inorganic options available into annual and long-range planning.
Work hand in hand with Strategic Partnerships.
When partnering is the right answer, frame the opportunity and hand it to the partnership owner with a clear thesis. When it isn't, explain why.
Deal execution and integration
Own end-to-end deal process management.
Validate target fit against GitLab's our target profile, product roadmap and other criteria, and build the acquisition rationale and business case. Drive our M&A process from intro call through the various steps through to closing and integration.
Evaluate the deal.
Develop valuation, commercial integrity assessment, impact on GitLab's business and provide negotiations assistance to the VP and the executive team.
Lead cross-functional diligence.
Run pre-LOI validation and diligence across Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal and People, and communicate findings clearly.
Drive deal documents with Legal.
Prepare NDAs, LOIs and purchase agreements with GitLab Legal and outside counsel.
Own integration outcomes.
Lead post-acquisition integration as the DRI, measured against the roadmap and business goals in the business case. Bring lessons learned back into the strategy work.
Build the external network.
Maintain relationships with founders, executives, investors, bankers and advisors that bring us early insight and pipeline.
What you'll bring
Strategy and deal experience.
8+ years across corporate development, corporate strategy, strategy consulting or technology investing, including 5+ years leading acquisitions end to end in enterprise software.
Structured strategic thinking.
You form a point of view from incomplete information, test it against data, and change your mind when the evidence says so. You're as comfortable recommending that we stay out of a market as that we enter it.
Market research depth.
Skilled in market sizing, competitive analysis and landscape mapping, and in turning research into a recommendation, not a report.
Deal craft.
Skilled in valuation, financial modeling, deal structuring, negotiation and integration planning, with experience across varied consideration structures.
Technical fluency.
A working understanding of software development, DevSecOps and the AI landscape, enough to hold substantive conversations with product and engineering leaders about roadmaps and architecture.
Clear executive communication.
You write short, decision-ready updates and present trade-offs plainly to executives and the Board, in an async-first environment.
Influence without authority.
You build trust across Product, Engineering, Finance and Legal and move decisions forward across functions.
Ownership with collaboration.
You own the strategic view and the recommendation, and partner closely with the team's Analyst on research and analysis.
Preferred:
familiarity with the DevSecOps, security, AI and open source ecosystems.
You value the
all remote
lifestyle and share our
values
.
About the team
The Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships team helps GitLab decide how to grow beyond what we build on our own. We own inorganic strategy: acquisitions, strategic partnerships with hyperscalers and AI labs, and the research that tells us which to pursue and which to pass on.
We work across Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal and the executive group. We set direction and do the detailed work ourselves, with a high degree of ownership and transparency in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

Mysten Labs’ mission is to advance the internet through step-function improvements in what technology makes possible. We build foundational infrastructure and products that give people, businesses, and developers new ways to interact, transact, and create value.
Our work spans on-chain finance and the emerging agent economy. Through Sui, Move, and our broader technology stack, we’re building the systems that make these experiences possible - from secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure to new ways for businesses and AI agents to interact.
ABOUT MYSTEN LABS
Through Sui and our financial products, we’re building infrastructure and experiences for trading, liquidity, and asset management. Alongside that work, we’re developing the infrastructure and products AI agents need to operate reliably, handle sensitive information, and interact under clear rules.
As agents take on more responsibility, they need more than intelligence. They need persistent context, trusted access to information, and clear boundaries around what they can do. Mysten brings together capabilities across storage, memory, privacy, and policy-controlled interactions to help make that future possible.
THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Product Lead to turn our emerging agentic technologies into products customers can understand, adopt, and buy.
Your role is to translate our product capabilities into useful experiences and commercially viable offerings—for example, a commerce-focused product that helps retailers manage agent-driven shopping, returns, or refunds.
Working closely with our CTO, Sales Lead, and engineering, you’ll identify customer problems, rapidly prototype solutions, and help bring the strongest opportunities to market. You’ll connect customer discovery, product definition, experience design, and commercialization, staying close to the work from the first concept through launch.
Joining this team means helping define a new product category, its customer experience, and the business around it. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how businesses participate in the agent economy and bring that vision to market.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Identify and prioritize customer problems our other agentic products are well positioned to solve.
- Lead customer discovery alongside our CTO, developing a clear understanding of buyer needs, user workflows, and adoption barriers.
- Rapidly create prototypes, interactive demonstrations, and product variants using AI-assisted design and coding tools.
- Test concepts with customers and use their feedback to refine the experience, scope, and value proposition.
- Define product requirements and work with engineering to turn validated prototypes into reliable, production-ready offerings.
- Shape packaging, pricing hypotheses, positioning, and GTM strategy in partnership with sales and the broader team.
- Design experiences that make agent capabilities, permissions, policies, and human oversight understandable to users.
- Balance customer-specific needs with opportunities to build reusable capabilities and repeatable products.
- Define success measures across customer value, adoption, conversion, and revenue, using results to guide iteration.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 12+ years of Product Management, Product Design, or related experience
- A track record of taking new products from an ambiguous opportunity through customer validation, launch, and commercial adoption.
- Startup or similarly entrepreneurial experience, with direct ownership of building and shipping under uncertainty.
- Strong prototyping skills and hands-on experience using AI-assisted or agentic coding tools to build and iterate on functional experiences.
- Experience working directly with customers to define products, validate demand, and support pilots or sales conversations.
- Commercial judgment, including experience contributing to packaging, pricing, positioning, or GTM decisions.
- Strong UX instincts and the ability to make complex technology approachable without obscuring important controls or constraints.
- Enough technical fluency to collaborate with engineering on integrations, feasibility, and the path from prototype to production.
- A hands-on working style and the ability to influence across product, design, engineering, and sales.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with customer-facing AI, enterprise commerce, payments, trust and security, or workflow products.
- Experience with agent permissions, approval flows, auditability, or other mechanisms that help businesses control automated actions.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education credentials, criminal history, and other relevant information.
