About Pinecone
Pinecone is the leading vector database for building accurate and performant AI applications at scale in production. Pinecone's mission is to make AI knowledgeable. More than 9000 customers across various industries have shipped AI applications faster and more confidently with Pinecone's developer-friendly technology. Pinecone is based in New York and raised $138M in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, ICONIQ, Menlo Ventures, and Wing Venture Capital.
ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE:
Pinecone is looking for a full-stack engineer to bring a new level of visibility, control, and trust to our product experiences. From cost metrics and spend alerts to interactive usage dashboards, we’re looking for a product-focused engineer who will deliver transparent and accurate insights to our customers.
As a member of the Experience Platform team, you’ll have direct ownership over the billing, management, and authentication interfaces that we need our customers to understand and trust. You understand the responsibility and care this type of work requires, while also moving quickly to match Pinecone’s rapid growth. You’ll do this by working closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to identify user and system needs and build the right thing, at the right abstraction level, at the right time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shape our product experience. Influence the rollout of products, propose and build new features, and advocate for experiences that will build confidence with our customers.
- Ship end-to-end experiences across API, SDK, and web. You'll own the full surface, from the HTTP layer to the UI, and you'll make calls across all of it.
- Own integrations with billing systems and vendor APIs, designing for resiliency against outages, schema drift, and inconsistent data.
- Create observable, auditable systems with monitoring, alerting, and verification mechanisms that give leadership and customers confidence in the numbers.
- Bring AI-assisted development practices to the team — use the best tools available and help establish patterns that let a small team move at a pace that shouldn't be possible.
- Partner with finance, product, and design to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, and push back when the abstraction level isn't right.
REQUIREMENTS:
Engineers at Pinecone operate with high autonomy. You'll be an active partner in setting strategy on APIs, interfaces, observability, and our product experience — not just executing on a roadmap. We care more about how you think and how you work than whether your resume checks every box. In exchange, we’ll make sure you’re set up for success with mentorship and technical guidance.
You should have:
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience
- A bias toward automation and leverage — you reach for systems and tooling before you reach for elbow grease
- Hands-on experience shipping with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a genuine part of your workflow
- Proven ability to design and deliver APIs for a rapidly scaling product surface
- Proficiency building web interfaces with React or similar
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong intuition for what makes APIs easy for both humans and agents to use correctly
Bonus points for:
- Experience at a SaaS company with usage-based or consumption pricing models
- Experience building billing-specific features, such as usage dashboards or cost reporting
- Strong familiarity with a compiled language like Rust, Go, or Java
- Experience integrating with third-party financial APIs and building defensively against inconsistent or delayed data
- Experience with queueing and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub
Perks & Benefits:
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, and mental health resources
- 401(k) Plan
- Equity award
- Flexible time off
- Paid parental leave
- WFH Equipment Stipend
All qualified applicants will receive considerations for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, veteran status, and any other legally protected status under federal, state, or local anti-discrimination laws.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a hands-on Growth engineer to help grow Notion’s Startups and SMB programs. You’ll work closely with our Ecosystem Growth Lead to help more businesses grow with Notion.
You can spot opportunities in the data and own the executing on the plan that follows. You’re comfortable getting into the tools yourself, moving quickly without sacrificing accuracy, and staying accountable for results.
This role is based in New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Work with a small team that operates like a growth lab. Startups and SMBs are the proving ground for ideas that can change how Notion grows.
- Build and launch new growth programs, from creator-led acquisition to AI-powered systems for testing new audiences and campaigns. Bring your own ideas and take responsibility for getting them off the ground.
- Move quickly from a rough hypothesis to a live experiment. Write code for new in-product experiences and build alongside Storytelling, Product, and Engineering to get your work into customers’ hands.
- Use SQL and customer research to find overlooked opportunities. Measure what changes customer behavior and revenue, and use the results to choose where to go next.
- Turn the strongest experiments into programs other teams can run. Build the systems and playbooks for them to expand across Notion, then take on the next growth challenge.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- 2+ years and a record of shipping growth or operations projects. You can explain what you personally built and what changed as a result.
- Typescript, Full-stack, and Systems-thinking
- Strong SQL and analytical judgment. You can work through messy data and distinguish a promising signal from a misleading result.
- Hands-on experience building campaigns or automated workflows in tools such as Customer.io http://Customer.io, Salesforce, or comparable platforms.
- The ability to take an ambiguous goal and execute on growth initiatives. You unblock yourself where possible and communicate clearly when you need another team’s help.
- Experience with self-serve SaaS or startup and SMB customers is a plus. If you’ve done similar work but with a different title, we’d love to hear from you!
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 per year.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. - Learn the Platform: Become an expert on Sierra's platform and how AI agents transform customer experiences, from agent design and workflows to integrations, so you can speak credibly with technical and business stakeholders.
- Discovery & Demos: Participate in efficient discovery calls to understand customer needs, answer technical questions (ideally in a single conversation), and grow to deliver standard product demos and account coverage for the sales team.
- Proofs of Concept: Support senior SEs in building demos and proofs of concept, and keep demo environments current and ready for customer use.
- APIs & Integrations: Educate customers on Sierra's APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns, and build and deploy scripts against a test environment on demand.

- Partner with Sales: Advocate for your AEs and customers in internal technical conversations, join customer meetings and events, and keep CRM records and opportunity data accurate.
- Close the Loop with Product: Act as a bridge between Sales and Product, translating customer feedback into actionable input and enrolling the right customers in beta programs.
- Grow Your Craft: Complete product, sales, and process training and certifications, with structured coaching and mentorship from senior Sales Engineers.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Working knowledge of at least one of: cloud software, APIs and integrations, or networking and automation systems.
- Curiosity about how businesses run and a genuine interest in building trusted relationships with customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail, plus comfort with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and standard productivity software.
- A collaborative, quick-learning mindset: someone who treats sales as a team sport and takes feedback well.
EVEN BETTER...
- Hands-on experience with APIs/webhooks, JSON, and scripting (e.g., Python or JavaScript).
- Familiarity with AI and ML concepts, workflows, or conversational AI and customer experience platforms.
- Exposure to consultative selling, or experience responding to RFPs and security questionnaires.
- A history of tinkering, whether with hardware, sensors, or side projects, that shows you learn by building.

We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.

ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for an IT Engineer to design the systems behind how people at Baseten get access, stay secure, and move through their time here. This role builds the controls and automation that our IT Operations team runs every day across identity, client platforms, SaaS, and cloud access.
The goal is a corporate environment that’s secure by default and easy to use: access that’s right from day one, removed when it should be, and provable at any time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strengthen our identity platform with strong authentication, clean access models, and least privilege as the default.
- Automate the workforce lifecycle so that joining, changing roles, and leaving Baseten are fast, consistent, and need little manual work.
- Build reliable pipelines for OS updates, patching, and software deployment that keep the fleet current without disrupting people’s work.
- Connect device health to access decisions, so a compliant device is what earns access to sensitive systems.
- Recommend identity and security standards for our SaaS and AI tools, and make the secure configuration the easy path for teams adopting new ones.
- Bring governance to non-human identities (service accounts, API keys, AI agents) and replace long-lived credentials with better options wherever possible.
- Manage configuration as code across identity and endpoints to reduce drift, so audit readiness comes from the systems themselves instead of a separate workstream.
- Give IT Operations well-designed tools and guardrails, so they can handle more requests on their own, safely.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years in IT engineering or corporate security engineering, ideally at a cloud-native company.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s.
Truly unique opportunity to shape and scale self-optimizing paid marketing systems for Growth. This role exists to turn our performance marketing experimentation program from a prototype into the operating system. The opportunity calls for deep paid-growth expertise and a strong grasp of how channel mechanics, audiences, creative, measurement, experimentation, and automation fit together. You’ll set the strategy and operating model, and guide the agentic infrastructure that brings it to life. You’ll partner with BizOps, Strat Fin, Growth, Ecosystems, and Marketing across Meta, LinkedIn, Google, and ChatGPT, interpreting always-on geo, cohort, creative, and spend signals in context.
This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- By day 90:
- Map how geo, audience, creative, spend, measurement, experimentation, and platform constraints interact; establish an operating model that turns those signals into hypotheses, tests, and clear kill/scale decisions, with agents supporting execution.
- Build a deep understanding of onboarding and activation, and how paid acquisition connects to downstream user quality; partner with Growth PM and Ecosystems PM on meaningful improvements.
- Establish how AI and agents can strengthen the end-to-end decision system—from analysis and hypothesis generation to creative and audience development, experiment QA, and reusable workflows—improving decision quality, not only execution speed.
- By the end of year one:
- Graduate the program from managing the experimental budget to managing the majority of paid spend, while maintaining efficiency and Notion’s quality bar for ad creative.
- Establish stronger measurement and a clear, connected view of which experiments move which metrics, why they work, and how results vary by user cohort; use that understanding to shape more personalized experiences.
- Turn the system into a repeatable model for Demand Generation, raising the standard for experimentation, measurement, and agentic marketing infrastructure across the organization.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Strong systems fluency across APIs, automation pipelines, and agentic systems. You can see how platform integrations, data, measurement, workflows, and constraints fit together; shape sound architecture and tradeoffs; and partner credibly with technical teams to make the system reliable.
- Deep paid-growth subject matter expertise across platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, and Google. You understand how channel mechanics, budgets, audiences, creative, and performance interact, and can connect those dynamics to real marketing outcomes.
- Expert measurement and performance-analysis judgment: you can interpret geo, cohort, creative, and spend signals in context, identify meaningful patterns, understand what is driving them, and make clear kill/scale decisions.
- Strong product and systems judgment across technical and marketing domains, with the ability to connect the parts into a coherent strategy and translate an ambiguous frontier into a system with a high quality bar.
- High-agency cross-functional ownership: you can work across BizOps, Strat Fin, Growth, Ecosystems, and Marketing to align decisions and deliver the full loop from strategy through operating model and infrastructure to outcomes.
