We are currently growing our team and looking for a strong, experienced artist to strengthen our existing environment art team..
We already have a solid foundation, but we need a Lead Level Artist who can come in and actively raise the quality bar - both through their own work and by elevating those around them.
This is not a pure management role. We are not looking for someone who only reviews, delegates, or attends meetings. Instead, we need a hands-on leader who genuinely wants to model environments, perform set dressing, and build levels in the engine - while helping the team grow through example and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Level Designers and Art Director to maintain visual quality and gameplay clarity.
Help develop our current team by sharing knowledge, techniques, and best practices.
Model environment assets (modular pieces, props, terrain elements, hero assets).
Perform set dressing yourself: composition, storytelling through props, decals, and scene staging.
Work inside the engine to build and polish level art on a daily basis.
Ensure technical performance (LODs, draw calls, memory) without sacrificing visual ambition.
Proactively fill gaps in modular kits with your own high-quality models.
Review team members' work constructively.
Candidate profile:
You want to model and dress environments, not just direct others.
You lead by doing. The team respects you because they see you in the trenches.
You are excited about helping a team grow, not just doing your own work in isolation.
[PL] Opis stanowiska
Szukamy aktywnego lidera, który chce modelować otoczenie, dbać o set dressing i budować lokacje bezpośrednio w silniku – jednocześnie wspierając rozwój zespołu poprzez dawanie dobrego przykładu i mentoring.
Zakres obowiązków:
Współpraca z Designerami oraz Dyrektorem Artystycznym w celu utrzymania spójności wizualnej i czytelności rozgrywki.
Wspieranie rozwoju zespołu poprzez dzielenie się wiedzą, technikami i najlepszymi praktykami.
Modelowanie elementów otoczenia (elementy modułowe, rekwizyty/propsy, elementy terenu, kluczowe obiekty/hero assets).
Samodzielny set dressing: dbanie o kompozycję, opowiadanie historii poprzez rekwizyty, kalkomanie i aranżację scen.
Codzienna praca w silniku nad budowaniem i dopracowywaniem lokacji.
Dbanie o optymalizację techniczną (LOD-y, draw calls, pamięć) bez kompromisów w kwestii jakości wizualnej.
Proaktywne uzupełnianie braków w zestawach modułowych własnymi, wysokiej jakości modelami.
Konstruktywne ocenianie i recenzowanie pracy innych członków zespołu.
Profil kandydata:

About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic player coach – a Lead Product Designer who’s ready to tackle complex UX challenges and elevate our product to new heights. If you’re excited to dive deep into intricate design problems, raise the bar for design quality, and design and build a complex interface to data.
You’ll shape the workflows that empower technical users to seamlessly explore and understand their data. You’ll dig into user needs, collaborate closely with product and engineering on product strategy, and help foster a culture where design is seen as crucial to our success.
You will largely own both the design and much of the implementation of a cloud hosted offering. Experience in data interfaces, especially business intelligence, SQL and data exploration interfaces is a giant plus.
We value curiosity, humility, ambition, and designers who understand the technical underpinnings of data, and can even implement their own designs. If this sounds like you, send us a hello with a link to your portfolio. We’d love to see how you think, how you work, and the impact you’ve made!
This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Oakland, CA office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end design strategy and execution for key areas of our product. Deliver creative solutions while proactively identifying and proposing future improvements and features. Collaborate closely with your stakeholders to shape roadmaps and product direction, align design strategy with business goals, and champion user-centered projects from concept to release.
Act as a vocal and opinionated champion for the user experience. Advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization. Confidently challenge and influence cross-functional partners to embed user considerations in product decisions and ensure the user voice and UX vision remain at the forefront of our product strategy.
Leverage strong communication and compelling storytelling skills to inspire trust, clearly articulate design rationale in terms of business value and technical feasibility, and effectively align teams around your cohesive design strategy. Champion user-centric ideas with your stakeholders and ensure daily design work actively supports strategic business objectives.
Promote design excellence by leading, mentoring, and inspiring your team with your expert guidance, actionable feedback, and championing of best practices. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and continuous improvement. Actively explore new tools, methods, and approaches to elevate the design process and raise the bar for UX quality across teams.
Conduct and utilize user research to deeply understand our technical users. Proactively identifying user needs, pain points, and opportunities. Inform design decisions with insights from your research and validate your concepts through testing and feedback.
Deliver with grit and urgency and drive impactful results in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate resilience in navigating ambiguity, proactively unblock challenges, maintain momentum, and ensure high-quality design outcomes in a dynamic environment.
