From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data. Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on. Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions. As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact. During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
Fivetran and dbt are building the open data infrastructure that powers AI agents you can trust.
Fivetran is looking for a Staff R&D Software Engineer to join our fast-growing Fivetran AI team. Your data stack was built for humans — but agents are the new primary data consumers, and they have fundamentally different requirements. Agents can’t intuit context; it must be explicitly codified, governed, and traceable. We’re building the governed context layer that solves this problem: Agents Schema, an open standard for storing agent-ready context directly in the customer’s own data warehouse, and Context Builder, the managed service that keeps it filled and fresh.
This role goes well beyond standard engineering. You’ll research emerging techniques in the fast-moving AI landscape and bring real product and market understanding to decide which ideas are worth pursuing — and then you’ll take what you’ve learned and ship it as production software. We’re looking for a true generalist who is willing and able to wear whatever hat the moment calls for: prototyping a new retrieval technique one week, hardening a backend service the next, then doing SRE or QA work when the team needs it. At this level, you’re expected to be a trusted expert beyond your own team — defining technical direction that other teams build on, taking high-level direction and turning it into concrete plans with a high degree of independence, and using sound judgment to decide what deserves your attention. Fivetran AI operates like a startup within Fivetran, and we need engineers who thrive on that range and ambiguity rather than staying in one lane.
Fivetran is the epitome of data-driven development — our engineering team is focused on building a world class product that:
Builds Infrastructure Agents Can Trust
— join our mission to deliver the governed context layer that AI agents depend on: accurate semantic definitions, traceable lineage, data contracts, and auditable history baked in from the start.
Embraces Open Standards
— help build portable, interoperable data infrastructure: Agents Schema, open formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake), MCP-native interfaces, and connector skills that work with any model and any compute.
Scales Without Breaking
— work to make Fivetran AI efficient at agent scale, where unit costs deflate as volume grows and context retrieval is fast, accurate, and cost-controlled.
We emphasize using no-nonsense tools and take great pride in the simplicity and effectiveness of the systems we build. Our back-end is built on Java, Python, Postgres, and Kubernetes, and our front-end is built on React and TypeScript.
This is a full-time hybrid position based out of our New York, NY office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
Technologies You’ll Use
Python, Java, SQL, dbt, LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), vector databases, BigQuery / Snowflake / Databricks, MCP protocol, React, TypeScript, Kubernetes
What You’ll Do
Research emerging techniques in retrieval, reasoning, and agentic AI, and decide what’s actually worth pursuing for Fivetran AI’s roadmap — then convince others
Prototype new ideas quickly, then take the ones that prove out and turn them into shipped, production-grade features
Define technical direction that spans multiple teams within Fivetran AI, ensuring architecture decisions made in one area don’t create problems in another
Build and maintain both back-end and front-end systems for the Fivetran AI product — from Agents Schema pipelines to the Context Catalog UI
Drive the AISQL capability forward: natural language to SQL grounded in dbt metric definitions, executed natively against the warehouse
Take ownership of production reliability across the platform: on-call rotation, incident response, and SRE work to keep the system trustworthy at scale
Set the bar for testing and QA practices, and do hands-on QA work yourself when it matters most
Use coding agents to automate the repetitive parts of the job, freeing up time for the research and design work that needs a human
Take high-level direction from product and leadership and independently define and execute the concrete plan to get there
Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the Fivetran AI team
Contribute to hiring by participating in and helping shape the interview process
Skills We’re Looking For
8+ years of programming experience across Python and/or Java, with the ability to move fluidly between back-end and front-end work
Considered a trusted expert beyond your own team, able to exert influence and define technical direction across multiple teams
Comfortable reading AI/ML research and turning promising findings into working prototypes, then production systems
Strong product and market awareness — able to judge which emerging techniques are worth building versus which are hype
Track record of taking ambiguous, high-level direction and independently defining and executing the concrete work to deliver it

This is a full-time hybrid position based out of our Denver, CO office.
Track record of taking ambiguous, high-level direction and independently defining and executing the concrete work to deliver it
Experience with SQL and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar)
Genuine willingness to work across the full stack: research, backend, frontend, SRE, and QA, as the team’s needs demand
Writes well-structured, performant code and can dive into unfamiliar codebases to suggest improvements

About the Opportunity
The Workplace IT Specialist ensures a reliable, secure, and high-quality workplace technology experience for employees across our EEA-region offices. Based in our Malta office, this role is the primary owner of local office IT and workplace facilities, and the first-line point of contact for EEA-region user support. The role also provides remote backup and support for other EEA offices as needed, and works as part of our Global IT team.
Second-line support for SaaS platforms and network infrastructure is handled by the broader Global IT team; this role focuses on delivering first-line support and knowing when to escalate. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically curious, works well independently, and looks for ways to improve day-to-day IT operations through automation and process improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing
Deliver responsive technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, business applications, and workplace technology, ensuring timely resolution of employee issues for the Malta office and EEA-region users.
Provide first-line, user-facing support for our collaboration, productivity, and business applications, helping employees resolve day-to-day usage questions.
Manage the local endpoint lifecycle — device provisioning, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, asset inventory, and secure device retirement — in line with Global IT standards and security policies.
Partner with HR and hiring managers to deliver smooth onboarding and offboarding: device preparation, account provisioning, access requests, and introducing new employees to IT systems, security practices, and workplace technology.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the local office's workplace technology, including conference room AV systems, video conferencing, VOIP, printers, CCTV, access control systems, and other office infrastructure.
Troubleshoot first-line endpoint, networking, Wi-Fi, VPN, identity, and access issues, escalating to and collaborating with the Global IT Operations team on anything beyond first-line.
Support Global IT initiatives, office moves, technology refreshes, and security projects as they affect the local office and the EEA region.
Create and maintain knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical documentation, using AI-powered tools and automation to improve documentation quality and reduce repetitive work.
Own the local end-user support experience: manage support requests, maintain SLA adherence, spot recurring issues, and suggest improvements to IT service delivery.
What We Look For In You
2+ years of experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, IT Operations, or a similar enterprise technical support environment.

RevenueCat gives app businesses the infrastructure and tools to build, run, and improve their monetization. Since graduating from YC's S18 batch, we've grown into the default monetization platform for mobile.
We're in 50%+ of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $16B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo developer to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.
We're a remote-first team of 150+ people across 25+ countries, guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance.
This isn't the right fit for everyone. The systems you’ll build here manage billions of dollars and touch hundreds of millions of end users, and we don’t take that lightly. You'll be expected to work hard and hold a high bar for what you ship, alongside some of the sharpest, most driven people you've worked with. If that sounds energizing rather than exhausting, keep reading.
ABOUT THE TEAM
You’ll join a cross‑functional group of app monetization subject matter experts who partner directly with RevenueCat customers and prospects. As part of the broader Customer Growth org, this team designs and implements high‑impact paywalls, onboarding flows, and purchase funnels using RevenueCat’s no‑code builders and experimentation tools, then feeds learnings back into our product, templates, and educational content
You’ll also collaborate closely with our content, marketing, and advocacy teams to turn real‑world project outcomes into templates, case studies, webinars, and best‑practice guides for the broader app community
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Senior CRO Designer, Paywalls & Funnels, you’ll be the person RevenueCat customers trust when the question is: “How do we get more users to convert and stay subscribed?”
You will:
- Design & build high‑converting paywalls and funnels
- Use RevenueCat’s paywall and experiment builders to design, configure, and ship paywalls, onboarding flows, upgrade paths, and win‑back experiences for mobile apps across categories
- Translate brands and product value props into clear, compelling paywall layouts, messaging, and pricing presentations
- Lead conversion optimization projects for customers and prospects
- Run structured discovery with customers and prospects to understand their business model, audience, and constraints
- Propose experiment plans (e.g., value prop framing, pricing presentation, trial vs. no‑trial, placement and timing of paywalls)
- Partner with apps to launch multivariate tests and interpret results, using RevenueCat’s analytics and experimentation tooling
- Codify patterns into reusable assets
- Distill what’s working across projects into reusable templates, checklists, and patterns that can be implemented directly in RevenueCat’s builders
- Work with Product to inform our paywall components, presets, and default templates
- Create educational content with Advocacy & Marketing
- Collaborate with Growth Advocacy and Content teams to turn your project learnings into:
- Example paywalls and funnel templates
- Blog posts, guides, and best‑practice documentation
- Webinars, live reviews, and conference talks or workshops
- Participate in public‑facing sessions (e.g., teardown streams, office hours) as a visible expert on monetization UX
- Champion monetization UX best practices
- Advise Sales, Customer Success, and Support on paywall and funnel best practices they can bring into customer conversations
- Provide feedback to Product & Engineering on how practitioners use our builders in the wild, highlighting opportunities for new features, components, and workflows
ABOUT YOU
You’re a conversion‑focused designer who lives at the intersection of mobile product design, growth, and experimentation. You have a track record of shipping real paywalls and funnels that move business metrics, not just portfolios
You have:
- Deep hands‑on experience with paywalls & funnels
- 5–8+ years designing consumer mobile experiences, with a substantial portion spent on subscription or purchase flows (e.g., paywalls, onboarding, upgrade/upsell, win‑back, account limits)
- Experience either:
- At a mobile app studio / product team owning monetization UX, or
- At an agency/consultancy repeatedly designing and optimizing paywalls and funnels for multiple apps
- Strong conversion & experimentation mindset
- Comfort defining hypotheses, success metrics, and test plans (e.g., CVR, trial start rate, activation, LTV)
- Experience using analytics and experimentation tools to interpret results and iterate quickly
- Ability to balance conversion gains with long‑term user trust and platform guidelines
- Mobile‑first product design skills
- Excellent interaction and visual design chops for small screens and high‑stakes surfaces (like paywalls and purchase flows)
- Strong UX writing instincts for concise, value‑focused copy and pricing messaging
- Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g. Figma) and comfort translating designs into no‑code builder configurations
- Customer‑facing communication skills
- Confidence leading workshops, design reviews, and strategy sessions with customers and prospects
- Ability to present options, pros/cons, and trade‑offs to both designers and non‑design stakeholders (founders, PMs, marketers)
- Great written communication for async collaboration in a remote team
- Values & ways of working
- You’re energized by our mission to help developers make more money
- You work iteratively and ship value quickly rather than waiting for perfection
- You have an ownership mentality: You see broken or unclear experiences and feel compelled to improve them
- You’re comfortable working in a fully remote, distributed team and collaborating across time zones
In your first month, you’ll:
- Learn RevenueCat’s products, especially paywalls, experiments, and analytics
- Join customer calls to understand our process and common challenges
- Audit a handful of existing customer paywalls and funnels and build your first recommendations
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Own several customer projects end‑to‑end, from discovery through experiment analysis
- Ship multiple paywall and funnel variations using RevenueCat’s builders
- Partner with Advocacy/Content on at least one public asset (template, blog post, teardown, or webinar segment)
Within 6 months, you’ll:
- Be the go‑to expert internally for monetization UX, paywall patterns, and funnel optimization
- Maintain and evolve an internal “playbook” of best practices and tested patterns
- Influence the roadmap for our paywall and experiment tooling based on patterns you see across customers
Within 12 months, you’ll:
- Have materially improved conversion for a portfolio of customer apps, with clear before/after stories
- Help define our strategy for paywall templates and monetization UX guidance at scale
- Represent RevenueCat in public‑facing educational content (webinars, AMAs, workshops, or conference talks) as a leading voice on mobile monetization UX
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Competitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator
- 10-year window to exercise vested equity options
- A fully remote environment designed around autonomy and flexibility
- 4-5 weeks of flexible time off annually
- Paid desk at a co-working space
- Workspace budget and continuous learning stipend
