Location: San Francisco, California Workplace: Hybrid WHO WE ARE Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. ABOUT THE ROLE: Notion is building the connected AI workspace where teams and agents think together, bringing knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools into one place. Joining Corporate Accounting means helping build the financial foundation for a business shaping how work gets done in the AI era. In this role you’ll be a key player on the Corporate Accounting team, working across global accounting areas with a focus on close activities, related reconciliations, and international statutory reporting. You’ll collaborate with teammates to strengthen the accounting processes that support Notion’s growth into new countries. At Notion, you’ll help build the repeatable operating practices that let a growing global business scale with confidence. This role is based in San Francisco. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE: - Be a key team player across monthly, quarterly, and annual close: Prepare accurate journal entries and adjustments with clear supporting documentation; support AP and cash reconciliations, including flux analysis and commentary; and complete close work on time. - Help establish reliable, repeatable global accounting processes as Notion expands into new countries. - By your 90th day, contribute meaningfully to close activities and take ownership of clearly defined global reconciliation work. - By your 90th day, organize and track open items, requests, and timelines across international statutory audits, coordinating with Tax and cross-functional partners. - By your 90th day, use Claude thoughtfully to improve reconciliation analysis, audit support, documentation, or quality checks—while applying appropriate data safeguards. - By the end of your first year, become a trusted partner, strengthen controls and accounting processes across your areas, supporting accurate financial statements and statutory filings. - By the end of your first year, raise the bar on documentation and process quality so recurring work is easier to execute, review, and build on. SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING: - Working knowledge of core corporate accounting processes, including close activities, AP, and cash reconciliations; this is central to the role’s day-to-day work. - Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual accounting, with some familiarity with IFRS. - Experience in public accounting or audit, or in corporate accounting; candidates early in their careers, including new graduates with relevant experience, are welcome. - Ability to organize and track work across multiple international statutory audits with accuracy, clear follow-through, and attention to deadlines. - Curiosity to learn country-specific requirements as Notion expands. - Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, or a similar ERP is a plus; experience with BlackLine, tax, or close management is also helpful. - Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional partnerships and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, including explaining fluctuations and their business drivers. - Ownership, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset: you look for ways to make the work more accurate, scalable, and easier for others to build on. Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $105,000 - $125,000 per year. By clicking “Submit Application”, I understand and agree that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process my information in accordance with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy https://notion.notion.site/Notion-Global-Recruiting-Privacy-Policy-fc3eb4e829354a26a2bb6fd5e289b550. https://dev.notion.so/a3ce416456924276a59de91bca740028?pvs=21 #LI-Onsite A NOTE ON AI You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. You will be a hands-on member of the close: owning a defined set of accounts and entities from transaction through reconciliation, and making sure what lands in the financial statements is accurate, supported, and explainable. This is a role for someone who likes getting into the detail and also asks why the process works the way it does. You will work closely with partners across Finance, Procurement, Payroll, Legal, Tax, and Finance Systems, and you will help us build a close that scales with the company, with a lot of room to improve how the work gets done as we grow. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Location: Hybrid - San Francisco, New York City About Vercel: Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience. Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. About the Role We're looking for an Engineer to lead the design and development of Vercel's Financial Data Platform, the foundational system that powers revenue reporting, consumption-based billing, financial forecasting, and compliance across the business. This is a unique opportunity to architect the data infrastructure that Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Operations depend on to close the books accurately, forecast revenue with confidence, and scale with the business. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Data Engineering, you'll define the technical vision for Vercel's financial data ecosystem, partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and Revenue leadership to translate business and compliance requirements into scalable systems, and build reliable, auditable pipelines using modern technologies like Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake. You'll lead from the front, writing production-grade code, setting the bar for data accuracy and governance in a domain where correctness isn't optional, and mentoring a team of engineers as the function grows. If you're excited by the challenge of building financial-grade data systems that the business trusts for reporting, forecasting, and audit, we'd love to hear from you. What You Will Do Design and implement a data platform that supports revenue recognition, consumption-based billing, and financial reporting across batch and real-time workloads, leveraging Kafka and streaming technologies to power real-time usage and billing pipelines feeding revenue and consumption forecasts. Work directly with FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to understand reporting requirements, close-cycle timelines, and forecasting needs, translating them into technical architecture and ensuring data availability and accuracy align with financial reporting deadlines, audit cycles, and board-level reporting needs. Define and maintain guidelines for financial data ingestion, transformation, and storage, with a focus on auditability, lineage, and data integrity, while overseeing data modeling, ETL, and warehousing (ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake) to support low-latency analytics and reliable historical reporting. Develop end-to-end solutions across the finance data stack, setting the example for engineering excellence in a high-accountability domain, and mentor engineers on both technical craft and the added rigor required when data feeds directly into financial statements. Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to ensure financial data pipelines meet SOX, SOC 2, and other regulatory requirements, and champion high availability, fault tolerance, and auditability through comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and incident response. Drive architectural decisions and roadmap planning that balance efficiency, scalability, and the strict correctness requirements of financial systems, and evaluate build-vs-buy tradeoffs across financial and billing tooling (e.g., ERP, billing, and revenue platforms). Build the data infrastructure that translates raw usage into revenue, supporting the forecasting models Finance and GTM rely on for target-setting and reporting, and collaborate with data science and FP&A teams on forecasting, incrementality analysis, and revenue modeling at scale. Act as a key decision-maker for evaluating and selecting data architectures and technologies critical to Vercel's financial operations, and establish a multi-phase roadmap for finance data platform maturity aligned with company growth and audit readiness. About You 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related field, with a track record of owning production data pipelines end-to-end. Proven track record designing and operating large-scale data infrastructures in a complex, fast-paced environment, with experience across Kafka and its ecosystem (e.g., Kafka Streams, Confluent Platform), ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and broader big data frameworks. Prior experience building data pipelines that feed financial reporting, revenue recognition, billing, or consumption-based pricing models, with familiarity with financial/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday) or billing platforms considered a strong plus. Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and associated big data services. Strong background in data governance, security, and compliance, including direct experience supporting audit, SOX, or SOC 2 requirements, and a rigorous approach to data lineage and accuracy. Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate financial and accounting requirements into technical architecture and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Finance and Audit leadership. A leadership mindset, with demonstrated ability to mentor teams, drive consensus, and advocate for best practices in high-accountability data environments. Industry recognition or notable contributions in data engineering (e.g., published works, open-source contributions) is a plus. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation package, including equity. Inclusive Healthcare Package. Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills. Flexible Time Off. We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $264,000 - $396,000. Location: San Francisco, CA | New York City, NY About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Anthropic is seeking a Financial Data and Controls Lead to join our Billing Platform team. Billing Platform builds the systems customers use to transact with Anthropic: subscriptions, usage billing, quote to cash, invoicing, and payments. You'll be the dedicated owner of billing accuracy, reconciliation, and financial controls across those systems, making sure the right checks run, the right controls are in place, and the audit evidence exists. Our billing systems and pricing change often, and each flow needs to meet SOX requirements. Accurate billing is what lets us launch products and pricing quickly and still close the books on time. The hard problems today include validating negotiated pricing from contract to invoice, handling the many forms of credits, app store billing, and keeping controls current while the systems under them are replaced. This is a foundational role and the first hire of its kind on the team. You'll lead a working group of the reconciliation and controls owners from each billing engineering team, and you'll set the approach they follow. You'll work closely with Finance Systems, Accounting, Internal Audit, and Data Engineering. The role sits in Engineering and works with Finance every day. Our Data organization builds the pipelines and owns the warehouse, and you'll use that data and partner with that team. We're looking for an engineer or data practitioner with strong accounting domain knowledge, who can talk to engineers about systems and to Finance and auditors about risk and materiality. Key responsibilities Own reconciliation and accuracy checks for critical billing data (quantity, price, discounts, and invoices) across our product platform, third-party billing and payment providers, app stores, cloud marketplaces, and in-house systems Design and run detective controls that catch billing errors before they reach the accounting books Partner with billing engineering teams to turn repeat checks into automated verifiers Review billing changes that have financial impact, flag the ones that touch SOX or IT application controls (ITACs), and make sure functional test evidence is in place Make SOX review a standard, lightweight step in how billing changes ship, treated like a security review, so launches are not delayed by it Own the end-to-end test strategy and audit evidence for those changes, working with Finance Systems, Data Engineering, Accounting, and Internal Audit Triage billing errors, prioritize backfills and fixes with the owning teams, and track materiality over time Define and maintain the data contracts between billing and finance systems, so downstream teams can find and trust the data they need Lead the working group of reconciliation and controls owners across billing engineering teams, through influence and not reporting lines Act as the Billing owner, alongside Accounting and Finance Systems, for translating the product and pricing roadmap into financial impact, test strategy, and process updates Minimum qualifications Experience building or owning a financial ledger, billing reconciliation, or cash reconciliation system end to end, one that Accounting relied on to close the books Hands-on SQL skills strong enough to take two messy datasets (for example usage events and invoices), match them, find the breaks, and explain the root cause Accounting domain knowledge (order to cash, month-end close, and materiality) sufficient to tell which billing changes have financial impact Experience working with SOX and Internal Audit teams on IT application controls, detective controls, transaction monitoring, functional test evidence, and auditor walkthroughs Experience defining data contracts between billing or product systems and finance systems such as the ERP, general ledger, or revenue recognition Track record of driving work across Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Audit without direct authority Ability to explain technical issues to Finance and auditors in their terms, and financial risk to engineers in theirs Interest in AI and a commitment to Anthropic's mission of building safe, beneficial AI systems Preferred qualifications Background as a backend, data, or analytics engineer who built a financial ledger or cash reconciliation system from scratch Experience running these systems under public company reporting requirements, and scaling them as the company grew Experience with usage-based or consumption billing Experience with multi-party billing, such as marketplaces, or app stores Experience turning manual checks into automated verifiers with engineering teams Experience remediating a control deficiency, or standing up a controls program while the underlying systems were changing A track record of using Claude or other AI tools to automate reconciliation, testing, or evidence collection, with checks that hold up to review Experience with billing and finance tools such as Stripe, Metronome, Zuora, NetSuite, or Workday Financials Python for data analysis or automation The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $345,000 — $425,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
