We're solving one of the hardest problems in security: giving every human, machine, workload, and AI agent a cryptographically secured identity, improving engineering velocity while maintaining security. We make trusted computing simple. This gives you the freedom, power, and autonomy to build and innovate with confidence. Remote-first and globally distributed, we work with companies like Nasdaq, DoorDash, and Elastic to secure infrastructure for an AI world. There is not currently a CFO in place, so there is also potential room for growth into that role for high performers. WHAT YOU'LL DO Financial Planning & Strategy - Serve as a strategic thought partner to the COO and CEO — bringing a financial lens to company-level decisions on market positioning, competitive strategy, pricing, geographic expansion, and capital allocation - Co-own the company’s long-range strategic plan alongside executive leadership, shaping not just the financial expression of strategy but the strategy itself - Identify the financial and operational levers that drive sustainable growth, and advocate for resource allocation decisions that reflect Teleport’s most important strategic bets - Own the annual planning and quarterly forecasting cycles, delivering accurate, driver-based financial models across revenue, cost, and headcount - Lead scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to pressure-test strategic options and support key investment decisions - Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for the COO, CEO, and Board of Directors by connecting day-to-day performance to long-term strategic goals Accounting & Controls - Oversee all accounting operations including monthly close, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial statement preparation - Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and audit readiness - Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors Board & Investor Reporting - Prepare board-level financial packages, investor updates, and management reporting with clarity and precision - Support fundraising, debt financing, and M&A diligence processes as needed - Develop the financial narrative for investors and analysts, underpinned by robust SaaS metrics Business Partnering - Partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and People leaders to drive financial accountability across the business - Own financial metrics and provide regular performance analyses - Support revenue operations, pricing strategy, and go-to-market financial planning Team & Systems Leadership - Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance team including FP&A, accounting, and revenue operations - Drive the selection, implementation, and optimization of financial systems and tools (ERP, FP&A platforms, billing infrastructure) - Build scalable, automated financial processes that support rapid growth and eventual public-company readiness - Champion and model the use of AI and modern technology tools — actively embedding automation, AI-assisted analysis, and intelligent workflows into finance operations to move faster, reduce manual work, and raise the quality of output - Set the standard for technology fluency on the finance team: encourage experimentation with tools like Claude and other AI systems for modeling, reporting, and documentation, and create space for the team to share what works WORKING AT TELEPORT IN THE AGE OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY At Teleport, using the best available tools and systems isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s part of how we work. We expect every Teleporter to actively adopt modern technology to do their job better: move faster, think harder, and produce work they’re proud of. That means embracing automation, better documentation systems, analytics, and tools like Claude regularly, bringing technology into your problem-solving, and sharing what works with your team. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 18+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with significant time as VP of Finance, CFO, or equivalent senior finance executive - Proven record of success at a high-growth B2B Cybersecurity, SaaS or infrastructure technology company in Series D/E/F stages with over $200mln in ARR - Strong command of GAAP accounting, SaaS financial metrics, financial controls, and audit processes - Demonstrated experience supporting a company through key inflection points — Series C+, late-stage private, or IPO preparation - Outstanding communication skills — able to present complex financial matters to executive teams, boards, and investors with confidence and clarity - Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, geographically distributed finance teams - Hands-on experience evaluating, selecting, and scaling financial systems (NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive Insights, or comparable platforms) - Collaborative, data-driven decision-maker who thrives in a fast-moving, distributed environment - Ability to be in-person in our HQ in Oakland, CA, a few times a week for in-person collaboration with the executive team. NICE TO HAVE - CPA, CFA, or MBA from a leading program - Experience taking a company through late stage private funding stages and IPO - Open-source or developer-tools experience. Why Teleport You're joining a company where the problem is real, the team is small, and your work shows up directly in the product. We're not a big company, you won't get lost in a crowd. You'll have the freedom and autonomy to do what you're great at, alongside teammates who care about doing it right and want to see you succeed. The work is collaborative, there's real room to grow, and the mission is one worth showing up for. Remote-first and globally distributed, we're genuinely passionate about what we're building. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Location: San Francisco, CA Workplace: Remote We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science. We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won’t solve the world’s hardest problems – robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world. World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached. Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you. *Titles posted to our careers page are updated regularly to best advertise the role and expected seniority, but internally we have a flat titling system with two types of titles: one for individual contributors and one for people managers. ABOUT THE ROLE *Open to hiring remote across the US — we also have offices in NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle Strategic Finance is a high-visibility, high-impact role embedded in the decision-making core of the company. You will serve as a crucial partner to our executive, R&D, and GTM teams, owning the financial modeling and analysis that drives our core product and research strategy, optimizes our GTM engine, and informs critical operational decisions. This is a role for someone who has done this inside a fast-growing company before. You bring that operating judgment alongside analytical rigor, strong communication, and the curiosity to thrive at the frontier of generative AI. You’ll work closely with our CFO and Head of Strategic Finance, and partner directly with the executive team and cross-functional leads. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Partner deeply with Product, Research, and Engineering leadership to evaluate the financial ROI and viability of new product lines, features, and R&D investments. - Drive pricing and packaging strategies that maximize market penetration and revenue expansion. - Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leaders to analyze and optimize unit economics (LTV/CAC, payback periods), sales efficiency, pipeline health, and customer retention. - Act as the analytical engine for the executive team by leading cross-functional initiatives to improve operational efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and scale business processes. - Translate operational plans into financial models, identify risks and opportunities, and hold teams accountable to KPIs. - Own the KPI infrastructure that connects product and revenue metrics to financial outcomes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a consistent narrative across all reporting. WHAT YOU’LL NEED - 7+ years of experience, including foundational analyst experience in investment banking or financial services, and high-impact operating experience in Strategic Finance, BizOps, or Corporate Finance at a high-growth technology company. - Experience building and leveraging AI tools for yourself and for cross-functional use. - A track record of operating through rapid scale: building and evolving financial models, planning processes, and reporting as a company’s complexity grows. - Strong fundamentals in financial modeling with a rigorous and quantitative approach to measuring operational success. - Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial concepts into simple, digestible narratives for non-financial stakeholders. - You have a high bar for operational excellence and a keen sense of how to translate complex, ambiguous business questions to a clear plan of action. - A genuine interest in AI and its implications for industry and society Runway strives to recruit and retain exceptional talent from diverse backgrounds while ensuring pay equity for our team. Our salary ranges are based on competitive market rates for our size, stage and industry, and salary is just one part of the overall compensation package we provide. There are many factors that go into salary determinations, including relevant experience, skill level and qualifications assessed during the interview process, and maintaining internal equity with peers on the team. The range shared below is a general expectation for the function as posted, but we are also open to considering candidates who may be more or less experienced than outlined in the job description. In this case, we will communicate any updates in the expected salary range. Lastly, the provided range is the expected salary for candidates in the U.S. Outside of those regions, there may be a change in the range, which again, will be communicated to candidates.
