HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.
Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
🤘 HOW WE DO IT ?
People joining Alan are always surprised and delighted by our innovative working method. We have a set of cultural values https://alan.com/about/company-culture that guide our approach to work, such as:
🎯 What drives us - We're obsessed with helping members live healthier
- Mission is the Boss: long-term thinking, mission above all else
- Member & customer-led: obsessed with solving problems and delighting users
🏆 How we build excellence - We hire the best and empower them to succeed
- Champions of excellence: extremely high standards and talent density
- Distributed ownership: everyone owns their decisions and results
- Radically transparent: all information accessible, written-first, async decisions
🤝 How we grow together - We improve through honest feedback and bold thinking
- Optimistic alchemy: optimists who collaborate with genuine care
- Empathetic challengers: direct, caring feedback to help each other grow
- Bold contrarians: think differently, try new approaches
⚡ How we move fast — We fight complexity and focus on what matters
- Disciplined execution: decisive action with compounding focus
- Fight for simplicity: high-impact processes, smart frugality
⭐ THE ENGINEERING TEAM ⭐
In our engineering team, we build the infrastructure, interfaces, and applications to provide first-class service to our members, health professionals, and even ourselves!
Being an engineer at Alan means joining a team of talented, committed and passionate engineers, with a lot of product interaction.
We move fast, with a lot of ownership, and are proud to tackle big problems!
Our process is very simple: those who make product decisions are the same ones who build them.
Our stack is Python/Flask, React, React Native, PostgreSQL.
Want to know more? Read this article https://blog.alan.com/tech-et-produit/engineering-organisation-at-alan if you want to discover how life as an Engineer at Alan and this article https://medium.com/alan/engineering-career-path-at-alan-e5de5c2e740c on our Engineering career path.
🌐 ENABLING GLOBAL-FIRST PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
In Alan's early expansion https://medium.com/alan/an-unexpected-journey-the-tale-of-the-backend-architecture-at-alan-ac8c5382df60, we made a strategic decision to create separate codebases for each country we ventured into. This approach allowed us to quickly adapt and tailor our applications to meet the unique healthcare and regulatory requirements of France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada.
In 2024 https://medium.com/alan/engineering-challenges-at-alan-in-2024-686688f6b89d, we reached a crucial point where it was essential to merge these codebases into global, configurable modules. Yet, writing local code is still easier than building global solutions. The Global Architecture team is central to this transformation — our goal is to enable any team at Alan to develop and launch features seamlessly across markets, as outlined in our 2025 technical strategy https://medium.com/alan/alans-2025-technical-strategy-building-tomorrow-s-stack-today-a070bcb345a6.
🚀 Your mission
- Design Cross-Cutting Modules You'll transform country-specific implementations into elegant global components that will become the new building blocks of other teams to build global features
- Remove Technical Blockers for Product Teams You’ll tackle technical blockers that cut across several domains and eliminate the need for team-specific workarounds, allowing product teams to focus on their core business
- Orchestrate Data Transformations You'll implement strategies to harmonize different countries' data models without losing local flexibility and consolidate existing data into unified schemas
- Build and Own What You Create You'll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of your solutions, from initial design through long-term maintenance. We don't just design — we build, deploy, and maintain what we create
🌟 Why This Role Matters
- Focus on High-Impact, Cross-Domain Solutions You work exclusively on blockers that span multiple business domains that are heavily depended upon. This means every solution you build has an impact across multiple teams
- Enable Teams, Don't Replace Them Your job isn't to substitute other teams or globalize everything. Instead, you'll work on technical obstacles that prevent teams from building global-first solutions and work with them to remove those obstacles
- Learn and Share Globalization Patterns As you design and implement global solutions, you'll develop an expertise in globalization patterns. You'll share these learnings with other teams, helping them make better decisions about global vs. local solutions in their own work
🚀 What we're looking for
- You write code and maintain what you build. At Alan there is no architect in an ivory tower, we implement what we design
- You’re able to navigate complex systems spanning multiple business domains and technical boundaries
- You've worked with diverse architectural patterns and can articulate the nuanced trade-offs between them
- You can spot technical obstacles that are blocking multiple teams and design solutions that remove those obstacles
⭐ IS IT YOU WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for problem-solver engineers with 5+ years of experience who get excited about simplifying complex business problems:
- You’ll be able to tackle high-impact & high-risk projects involving many engineers.
- You’ll design efficient systems and engineering practices to align with and facilitate interactions between multiple teams/products.
- You’ll have the opportunity to mentor other engineers & lead crews (more details in this article https://blog.alan.com/tech-et-produit/engineering-organisation-at-alan).
- You’ll be able to contribute to hiring your future coworkers and shape candidates’ hiring experience (improving our technical assessment process etc...)
You would be a good fit at Alan if most of this sounds like you:
- Well-versed in Object Oriented Programming such as Python, Java, C#, and enthusiastic about web technologies such as modern Javascript.
- Willing to work in Python/JavaScript (but you don’t need to have experience with those 2 languages!).
- Passionate about building products.
- Self-starting and entrepreneurial.
- Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!).
- Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.
- Fluent in English (no need to speak French!).
For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the D-F level range.
But above all, we are looking for high potential and curiosity: make sure to show us this when you apply! Everything else is a bonus.
🙌 PERKS & BENEFITS https://alan.com/en/careers/a/salary-equity
At Alan, we believe that being in good health is a basic need, and it starts with our employees. This is why Alaners are provided with a stimulating environment and perks ensuring they are happy, efficient and spend only high-quality time with co-workers.
Therefore, we offer:

- Parental leave. Extended parental leave for all new parents.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WE HIRE PEOPLE, NOT ROLES.

Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist.
We'll be thrilled to receive your application!

- Advocate for best practices around operational security, key management, transaction monitoring, and compliance-friendly architecture
- Gather customer insights to influence product roadmaps and feature prioritization
- Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to deliver scalable and repeatable technical solutions
- Contribute to technical documentation, integration guides, and internal playbooks
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Excellent communication, client-facing, and project management skills
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT MANDATORY

About the role
WorkOS has a strong bottoms-up, developer-focused GTM motion, and we’re growing our lean sales team to complement it. We’re hiring Account Executives across several experience levels, from AEs with 2 years of closing experience to seasoned sellers with 10 years of experience.
Our customers range from AI-native startups to large enterprise organizations. We don’t have formal sales segmentation: customer coverage is fluid, and you’ll work across a range of company sizes, technical needs, and buying processes. Your scope and expectations will reflect your experience, with opportunities to contribute beyond a narrowly defined territory or segment.
You’ll build relationships with technical leaders, understand what their teams are building, and help them evaluate how WorkOS can simplify enterprise integrations and support their growth. This is a consultative, technically engaged sales role with room to experiment, shape our sales motion, and build processes from scratch.
Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify, qualify and close high potential customers and foster internal technical champions by building a delightful customer journey tailored to a technical audience/preferences of a technical buyer
- Experimentation: Test outreach, messaging, and sales approaches across our customer base. Share what works and help develop repeatable practices.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (marketing, product, engineering) to develop sales strategies, communicate customer feedback, and ensure customer success.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate opportunity records and forecasts, clearly communicating progress, risks, and next steps.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, WorkOS product developments, and competitor offerings to position yourself as a trusted advisor to potential customers.
- Reporting: Regularly provide feedback and updates to the leadership team on key accounts, challenges, and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Closing experience: Approximately 2–10 years of quota-carrying Account Executive experience closing B2B SaaS or other technical products. We’re hiring at multiple levels and will evaluate experience accordingly.
- Enviroment experience: Early-stage or high-growth companies, developer tools, infrastructure, or product-led growth motions.
- Track record: Demonstrated success against sales targets and ownership of opportunities through close. More experienced candidates should bring experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Technical aptitude: Curiosity about how software is built and the ability to learn technical products, ask thoughtful questions, and earn credibility with engineering leaders.
- Communication: Strong discovery, listening, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ownership: Comfort working on a lean team with evolving priorities, fluid customer coverage, and processes that are still being built.
- Collaboration: A resourceful, team-oriented approach to solving problems and moving opportunities forward.
- Organization: Strong pipeline discipline and proficiency with CRM tools.
- Bonus: Familiarity with identity and access management products such as SSO, Directory Sync, or Audit Logs.

Engineering Manager - Product
We're looking for an Engineering Manager who's both a technical leader and a product builder. You'll guide a cross-functional team (5-10 engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA) in delivering products that create real value for hundreds of thousands of businesses across Europe.
What You Will Be Doing
You're a seasoned technical leader with strong engineering roots and a track record of building teams that ship products that matter. You communicate clearly with everyone – engineers, product managers, executives – and you're genuinely curious about the product, the users, the business, and how your team's work drives real impact.
You don't just manage delivery. You challenge problem framing with your PM partner, ensure the team solves the right problems, and think in terms of business outcomes, not just technical outputs. You're comfortable discussing retention and conversion funnels alongside system architecture. You help the team understand ROI and prioritize based on value and effort.
You have deep technical expertise and can still step in to unblock when needed. You balance feature delivery with technical debt, keeping scalability in mind while ensuring the team ships at pace. You make technical decisions through explicit trade-offs, not gut feelings, and help everyone understand the "why" behind choices.
You take ownership of both outcomes and people. You run meaningful 1:1s, create growth plans, and own hiring and promotions. You build engaged teams through honest feedback and coaching. You invest in making the team more productive – better tools, smarter processes, fewer bottlenecks.
You drive predictable delivery by partnering tightly with Product and Design. You communicate proactively about priorities, risks, and constraints. You encourage healthy debate and move toward "disagree and commit" when needed.
Who You Are
5+ years of software development building data-intensive production systems
Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering teams
Deep technical knowledge: hands-on experience with at least one of the common general-purpose languages and platforms (C#/.NET, Java/JVM, JavaScript/Node, Go), distributed architectures, databases, messaging and queueing systems.
Experience in product-led organizations, ideally with international scopeStrong business acumen – you connect engineering work to revenue, retention, and trust
Comfortable with product metrics (DAU/MAU, retention, conversion funnels)
Exceptional communication in English across all audiencesA builder's mentality: you care about shipping great products and growing great teams
Our tech stack
Backend: .NET Core, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes
You'll lead teams using React, Swift/Kotlin, Python/ML frameworks, and modern QA tools
What You Will Get In Return
Make a genuine impact on the product

About Finom
Finom is a European tech startup headquartered in Amsterdam, and we’re on a journey towards revolutionizing the financial landscape for entrepreneurs worldwide. Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.
We recently closed a €115 million Series C equity round (around $133 million), bringing our total funding to approximately $346 million. This significant investment follows a $105 million growth funding round from General Catalyst, a long-term backer since 2021 known for supporting companies like Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe.
Finom's platform goes beyond traditional banking, offering invoicing and a growing suite of features, including AI-enabled accounting, aiming to simplify financial management for entrepreneurs. We're actively expanding our reach across key EU markets like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.
At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thinks like a product builder, thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, and is passionate about creating robust, scalable financial infrastructure. You'll be part of a domain team where various engineering crafts (Backend, Frontend, Mobile, ML/AI engineers, and QA) work together to own and evolve a shared product area that delivers real value to hundreds of thousands of businesses across Europe.
About You and What You'll Do:
You're pragmatic, learn quickly, and have a proven track record of shipping products that matter. You communicate clearly across disciplines and genuinely enjoy the dynamics of a cross-functional team where everyone contributes to solving the same customer problems. Above all, you're curious – about the product, the users, the business, and how your technical decisions impact all three.
As a product-minded backend engineer, you don't just implement tickets. You understand the "why" behind what you're building, challenge assumptions when needed, and proactively identify opportunities to create better outcomes. You're comfortable discussing trade-offs with product managers, explaining technical constraints to business stakeholders, and collaborating with frontend and mobile engineers to design elegant end-to-end solutions.
You have deep expertise in .NET and C# with a strong appreciation for maintainable, scalable code, and distributed architectures. But more importantly, you know when to apply that expertise and when simpler solutions serve the product better. You've built data-intensive applications before and understand the concepts of working in a regulated environment.
You take ownership not just of your code, but of the outcomes. You move without being prompted, whether that's jumping into a customer issue, improving team processes, or mentoring colleagues. You're curious about adjacent domains – you might peek at the frontend code, ask questions about the ML models, or dive into analytics to understand how features perform.
Quality is non-negotiable for you. Automated testing, thorough code reviews, and security best practices are fundamental to how you work. You balance technical excellence with pragmatism, always keeping the end user and business goals in mind.
Your experience includes:
At least 5 years of professional backend development with a product engineering mindset
Excellent knowledge of .NET platform and C#
Hands-on experience architecting and evolving distributed systems in production
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers from other disciplines
Strong business acumen – you understand how your work connects to company objectives
Clear, concise communication in English across technical and non-technical audiences
A builder's mentality: you care deeply about shipping great products, not just writing great code
Our tech stack
Backend: .NET/C#, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes, GCP.
You'll work alongside teams using React (Web), Swift (iOS) / Kotlin (Android), Python/ML frameworks, and modern test automation tools (Playwright, Appium).

We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer with extensive experience in distributed systems, large-scale backend architecture, and high-volume storage systems. You will own systems end-to-end—from schema design and API architecture to deployment, observability, and operational excellence.
The work is highly dynamic, and you will operate in a fast-paced environment where we continuously evolve the platform to support enormous growth in traffic, data, and global usage. You’ll collaborate across engineering, SRE, Product, and Design while acting as a technical leader who simplifies complexity, elevates engineering quality, and improves a globally critical developer platform.
If you’re passionate about building and operating massive-scale distributed systems with huge data and throughput demands, this role is for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Distributed Systems & Backend Engineering
- Architect, build, and operate high-scale distributed systems powering Docker Hub’s registry platform—spanning artifact storage, metadata services, indexing workflows, and performance-critical APIs.
- Lead the design and implementation of backend services with a strong emphasis on scalability, correctness, resilience, and performance.
- Drive major initiatives around multi-region replication, caching strategies, request-path optimization, and core registry reliability.
Data Infrastructure & Storage
- Design, optimize, operate the data and storage layers - for both Relational and NoSql as well as object storage and related technologies.
- Develop schemas and data models to support high-throughput, large-volume workloads.
- Own systems end-to-end—from storage-layer behavior to API design, deployment workflows, and production monitoring.
Operations, Observability & Scale
- Improve the performance and reliability of one of the world’s largest repositories of container images.
- Develop and enhance observability through metrics, traces, alerting, and dashboards.
- Lead improvements to deployment and operational tooling (e.g., Argo CD, GitHub Actions).
- Participate in on-call rotations as part of supporting critical production services.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor engineers and lead design and architecture reviews.
- Partner with Product, Design, SRE, and Platform teams to deliver high-impact projects.
- Engage with open-source communities, cloud-native partners, and the broader ecosystem.
- This role may require participation in an on-call rotation to provide support outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 8+ years backend engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems and large-scale backend architectures.
- Strong production experience with Golang, including designing and operating large Go-based services in cloud environments.
- Strong production experience with Kubernetes, including operating services at scale.
- Experience designing and running high-scale storage systems (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or equivalent) in production.
- Experience building and operating cloud-based services (AWS preferred).
- Experience with event-driven or streaming systems, such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, or equivalent.
- Strong foundation in software engineering best practices: design documentation, testing strategies, CI/CD, code review, observability.
- Comfortable functioning autonomously in a fully distributed, remote-first team and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with OCI registries, artifact stores, or large-scale content distribution systems.
- Familiarity with search/indexing systems or metadata-rich architectures.
- Contributions to cloud-native or open-source ecosystems.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- An engineer with deep experience in distributed systems and large-scale storage
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently optimizes for reliability, automation, and performance.
- A technical leader who takes ownership of complex systems and drives long-term architectural direction.
- An engineer energised by the challenges of operating a global developer platform at massive scale.
