We're a small, growing marketing team. We’re seeking a systems thinker who can contribute marketing ideas, tasks and projects with a combination of elbow grease, AI skills, creative problem solving and drawing on their lived experience. This person will get pointed at a problem and expected to solve it, sometimes with minimal direction and assistance.
Metabase is used by hundreds of thousands of people to answer questions about their own data, most of whom aren't analysts. We've always believed the best marketing for a tool like ours comes from people who use it. So we're looking for someone who is closer to our user than to a traditional marketing résumé: you've been the person on a team who figured out the data, wired up the integration, built the dashboard nobody asked for, and then explained it to everyone else. You bring that confidence to other tasks, including those you’re trying for the first time.
If you've used Metabase, or you write SQL and have opinions about BI tools, we especially want to hear from you. You'd be marketing to yourself, which is a big advantage. You’ll be working closely with everyone on the marketing team, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing. You'd be joining at a point where the marketing team is small enough that what you build becomes how we do things.
Responsibilities
The specifics will shift dramatically. Over the first year, expect a mix of:
Helping build and refine our marketing stack the way an engineer would: know what's connected to what, what's breaking, and what's quietly costing us money.
Building integrations and automations between our tools using APIs, webhooks, MCPs and whatever glue is appropriate
Publishing and managing webpages via github; optimizing via A/B tests; spinning up landing pages with minimal direction.
Owning smaller channel experiments end to end, from hypothesis to write-up, including (especially) the ones that fail.
Supporting our community events programs, including logistics, speaker wrangling, pre- and post-event comms, the data collection that makes an event worthwhile.
Pressure-testing our messaging against your own experience as a data-curious person who uses tools like ours.
What we're looking for
You don't need a traditional marketing background. You do need to be data-curious, technically fearless and close to our target persona. The core traits we’re looking for are some combination of:
You've used Metabase or are comfortable writing SQL.
You have fluency with AI tools and know when to apply them.
You communicate clearly in writing, which is vital for our remote, async culture.
You have high-agency, are resourceful and are comfortable learning new things.
You have experience in analytics, ops, support, consulting, engineering, product, or marketing.
Working at Metabase
Amazing views from our beautiful
downtown San Francisco office
Zoom channel
Unlimited PTO, and a team that takes it
Substantial equity in a venture-funded company
Remote-first and async by default
Small, engineering-led, and opinionated about building a product people like using
We're bringing data tools with the elegance and simplicity of consumer products to the crufty world of enterprise business intelligence.
Compensation
The US base salary range for this role is
$71.7K–$130K annually
, plus equity and benefits.
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, and scope of responsibility. Pay may vary by geographic location and other job-related factors.
US Benefits
Our US benefits package also includes fully employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance (with 75% coverage for dependents), a 401(k) with employer match available to enroll after the first 30 days.
How to apply
Send us a resume and a short cover note. We read them.
In the note, we'd love to know:
What you've built or figured out that you're proud of, even if it was small and internal
How you've used Metabase, or where you've used SQL
Metabase is an equal opportunity employer. We're building a team of people with different backgrounds, and we mean it.

Workplace: Remote
The Role
You'll own a mostly greenfield enterprise territory and have a core focus on generating new logos
New business usually starts with a team already running ClickHouse — open source, or a Cloud account someone expensed — until a bill or a security review pushes the conversation up to the platform team and the budget owner. Common triggers: an Elasticsearch or Splunk bill that's hard to defend, a warehouse that can't serve a customer-facing feature fast enough, an AI product querying tens of billions of rows.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own the full sales cycle for both new and existing accounts in your territory — first conversation through security review, procurement, and close, on Cloud commitments and multi-year committed spend.
- Grow your install base by landing new teams and new use cases inside accounts that already buy from us.
- Own renewals and consumption commitments, working with your Solutions Architect and Support to get ahead of usage and churn risk.
- Watch consumption trends across your accounts and engage early when usage flattens or spikes. Both are signals.
- Find and convert existing ClickHouse usage in new accounts. Unmanaged open-source deployments and self-serve Cloud accounts are the highest-yield source of new pipeline in this segment.
- Multi-thread across the data platform team, the budget owner, security, and the executive sponsor rather than relying on a single champion.
- Work with your Solutions Architect through the technical evaluation. They own the technical win, you own the commercial strategy and the close.
- Run the procurement path: security questionnaires, legal redlines, vendor onboarding, and BYOC or private-deployment requirements.
- Give your champion the internal business case — TCO comparison against the incumbent, migration plan, and risk mitigation.
- Map the remaining teams and use cases in each account and build an expansion plan against them.
- Keep Salesforce accurate and submit a forecast leadership can plan against, across both new business and expansion.
- Participate in the developer community in your territory: meetups, conferences, and events.
What You Bring
- 6+ years selling technical infrastructure to enterprise buyers — databases, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, observability, or developer tooling.
- A track record closing complex deals that went through security review, legal, and procurement.
- Enough technical fluency to hold an architecture conversation. You don't need to write SQL, but you should be able to explain why a company moves a workload off Elasticsearch.
- Experience carrying a hybrid quota — new business alongside expansion and renewal — and the discipline to work both rather than defaulting to whichever is easier that quarter.
- Experience with consumption-based or usage-metered commercial models, where revenue moves with usage between contract events.
- Experience selling into developer-led, bottom-up adoption as well as top-down.
- Ability to orchestrate people who don't report to you — Solutions Architects, executive sponsors, partners, product managers.
- Accurate forecasting, including when the number is bad.
PERKS
- Flexible work environment - ClickHouse is a globally distributed company and remote-friendly. We currently operate in over 25 countries.
- Healthcare - Employer contributions towards your healthcare.
- Equity in the company - Every new team member who joins our company receives stock options.
- Time off - Flexible time off in the US, generous entitlement in other countries.
- A USD$500 Home office setup if you’re a remote employee.
- Global Gatherings – We believe in the power of in-person connection and offer opportunities to engage with colleagues at company-wide offsites.
CULTURE - WE ALL SHAPE IT
As part of a rapidly scaling start-up, you will be instrumental in shaping our culture.

The Role
You'll own a hybrid enterprise territory: existing customers to grow and renew, plus net-new accounts to win.
In the install base, most growth comes from new teams inside an account that already buys from us. One team lands a workload, it works, and four other teams have a similar problem. Your job is finding them early and keeping the commercial relationship in step with the usage, including renewals and consumption commitments.

Complete ad hoc projects — support special analyses and process or system initiatives as the function evolves.

- Experience building and tuning detections in a SIEM or detection platform and working with observability and logging systems such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar platforms.
- Experience operating or supporting a vulnerability management program, including triage, prioritization, remediation tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
- Familiarity with cloud and application security findings from platforms such as Wiz, including CNAPP, runtime, code, and vulnerability scanning use cases.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS.
- Working knowledge of identity and access systems, modern authentication flows, and the security implications of internet-facing applications and APIs.
- Strong understanding of threat modeling, risk prioritization, and practical security controls across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
- Practical experience using AI tools in security workflows, along with sound judgment about AI-specific risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, excessive tool access, and weak auditability.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially in environments where security needs to move quickly with product and engineering teams.
- Drive and proactivity - everyone here is a builder and executor
TOOLS WE USE
We use Node and TypeScript on the server, leveraging the NestJS framework within a microservice-oriented architecture running on Kubernetes and AWS. On the client side, we build and ship product features for iOS, Android, and web platforms using React Native. We also embrace AI-assisted development, so engineers have their choice of Claude Code or Cursor to fit their workflow. At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure.
Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users.
Our platform is trusted by over 7 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $260M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development.
We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you.
APPLYING TO RENDER
We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.
We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed.
Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for Render's first Forward Deployed Engineer to work hands-on with our most strategic customers. Our largest contracts and fastest-growing AI startups are scaling on Render, and this role provides them with a dedicated, concierge-level technical partnership. You will balance two motions: white-glove engagement with our top accounts, where you work closely with the customer's engineering team as a trusted technical partner, and scoped onboarding intensives that get high-growth startups confidently building on the platform. As the first FDE in our Field Engineering organization, you will define the playbook for this function, prove the model, and shape how it scales.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work closely with Render's top accounts as their dedicated technical partner, providing concierge service across architecture reviews, migration planning, and hands-on delivery.
- Run scoped onboarding intensives for high-growth startups, from intake and success criteria through hands-on-keyboard execution.
- Lead the database side of customer engagements, including Postgres architecture, performance tuning, and complex data migrations from Heroku, AWS, and other cloud providers.
- Drive activation and expansion in strategic accounts: turn major credit grants into durable production adoption, surface expansion signals from your technical work, and partner with the account team to convert them into revenue.
- Own the ongoing technical relationship for your accounts: proactive architecture and health reviews, collaborative roadmap sessions, incident follow-up and RCA, and escalation point for hard technical problems, working closely with the account team.
- Build the FDE playbook: qualification criteria, engagement templates, success metrics, and reference architectures that make the program repeatable.
- Act as a high-signal feedback channel to product and engineering, translating customer friction into prioritized product input.
- Partner with Account Managers and Customer Engineers to ensure smooth handoffs after each engagement and durable long-term coverage.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years in a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role: forward deployed, solutions, customer, or professional services engineering.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals; you can write production-quality code and work hands-on-keyboard inside a customer's codebase.
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure: containers, CI/CD, networking, autoscaling, and running real workloads in production.
- Deep Postgres and database expertise: schema design, performance tuning, replication, and production data migrations. Our largest engagements consistently turn on this skill set.
- AI fluency: you work with AI tools daily to accelerate your own delivery, and you understand LLM application architectures well enough to guide the teams building them.
- Excellent communication with everyone from startup founders to enterprise platform teams, including executive-level conversations.
- Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity; you can stand up a new function without an existing playbook.
- Commercial instincts: you understand how technical wins connect to expansion, renewal, and revenue.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Migration experience from Heroku, AWS, or other clouds onto modern platforms.
- Hands-on experience shipping AI and LLM applications (RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, inference workloads); many of our fastest-growing accounts are AI-native.
- Prior experience as the first hire in a role or a founding member of a new program.
If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need.
BENEFITS
- 4 weeks of paid vacation.
- 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return.
- Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans.
- 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs and HSAs are available as well.
- Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc.
- Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy.
- Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders.
- Continuous learning benefits & related support.

Operational Motion & Cross-Functional Integration
Act as the primary business lead to cross-functionally implement, refine, and maintain activation workflows across Marketing, Product, Sales Ops, and Data teams.
Apply an understanding of the interrelationships between different disciplines to navigate complex cross-team dependencies and drive strategic alignment.
Help define and iterate on sales-facing tools (such as a "single pane of glass" interface) that surface product affinity, app usage, intent signals, and account fit to enable sales execution.
Maintain structured feedback loops with Product Advocates, SDRs, and sales reps to assess lead quality and continuously refine signal logic.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) & Experimentation
Analyze and optimize conversion rates across the end-to-end flow—from initial signal capture to activation, handoff, and pipeline generation.
Independently design and run growth experiments (in-product onboarding adjustments, messaging, routing logic) to maximize engagement and move accounts through the buyer journey.
System Administration & Technical Tooling
Manage technical configuration, tracking setups, and ongoing maintenance for core data and analytics platforms (e.g., GA360/GA4, customer data platforms, product analytics).
Maintain rigorous data flow standards and proper tag/tracking setups across web properties, marketing tools, and product analytics environments.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of related experience in growth marketing, marketing analytics, revenue operations, or PLG strategy within a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Cross-Disciplinary Expertise: Deep understanding of B2B SaaS growth tactics, PLG motions, marketing technology stacks, and revenue analytics, with a proven ability to bridge Marketing, Sales Ops, Data, and Product management.
Independent Problem Solving: Proven track record of independently determining methods and procedures on complex, ambiguous assignments requiring evaluation of variable factors.
Technical: Hands-on proficiency with web analytics (GA360/GA4), product analytics (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel), CDPs, SQL, and CRM/automation platforms.

Type: Full Time Internship (June 1, 2027 - August 31, 2027)
The Role
Help build the technology behind Nex Playground—where games, computer vision, consumer hardware, and cloud services come together to get families moving.
The Platform Software Engineering (PSWE) team owns the core platform powering every Playground experience. As a Platform Software Engineer Intern, you’ll own a meaningful project, make real technical decisions, and ship software with visible impact. A dedicated mentor and engineers across the Nex team will support you from design through launch.
What You'll Build
Your project will match your strengths and interests while solving a real team need. You may:
Ship a new capability for PlayOS, Play Services, or the cloud platform.
Build an API, service, developer tool, or delivery automation used by other teams.
Improve performance and reliability using testing, logs, metrics, and telemetry.
Debug problems across device, network, backend, and cloud boundaries.
Take your work from idea to launch: design, build, test, document, and measure it.
Should Have
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and a learning mindset.
Experience with at least one language or runtime such as Kotlin/Java, C/C++, Go, Python, TypeScript/Node.js.
Clear communication, collaboration, and care for software quality.
Nice To Have
Experience with Android, Linux, embedded systems, or device software.
Familiarity with backend services, APIs, databases, distributed systems, or Google Cloud Platform.
Exposure to CI/CD, containers, release automation, monitoring, testing, or performance optimization.
Genuine interest in building platform software that connects devices, cloud services, and player experiences.
Curiosity about one or more of these areas: Android or embedded systems, backend and distributed systems, developer infrastructure, games, or technology that helps people be active together.
Enthusiasm for learning across technical boundaries and understanding how a feature works end to end.
Why You’ll Love This Internship
Real Ownership: Ship a production-ready project—not a throwaway intern exercise.
Dedicated Mentorship: Learn through regular 1:1s, design reviews, debugging, and code feedback.
Broad Exposure: See how device software, cloud services, infrastructure, privacy, and security work together.
Future Opportunity: High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time role at Nex.
We Offer
Competitive compensation package.
Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
Product-driven culture that treasures talents and individual growth.
Front-row seat and hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies in the evolving gaming field
