Are you an engineer who loves diving deep into ML models, building standalone CLI tools, and exploring how far AI agents can go in autonomous coding? Do you want to rethink how software is built and use the tools you create every single day?
About JetBrains
We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.
What you’ll do
We build Junie, our AI coding agent, available across JetBrains IDEs and as a standalone CLI. We're combining the latest advancements in AI and LLMs with our decades of software development expertise.
We are working in three main areas: growing Junie CLI into a general-purpose agent independent of any IDE, optimizing model ensembling and setups for the best cost-to-intelligence ratio without compromising code quality, and pushing next-level autonomy so Junie can own, maintain, and evolve entire subsystems over multi-day horizons.
You’ll have end-to-end ownership over these initiatives, taking work from early research to production code while shaping the future of autonomous development.
Day to day, you will:
Develop and ship new features for Junie across CLI and model integrations.
Experiment with model setups, ensembling, and cost efficiency strategies.
Build and test autonomous agent behaviors for long-term project maintenance.
Own the full development cycle from initial research to production-ready code.
Use Junie daily to continuously iterate on its quality and user experience.
What you’ll bring
Comfort taking full ownership of decisions and implementation.
The curiosity to challenge assumptions and experiment with new ideas.
The ability to learn new concepts quickly and adapt quickly.
A mindset focused on long-term impact rather than short-term workarounds.
Strong interest in autonomous AI systems and software engineering tools.
What you’ll need
A proven track record of developing and shipping machine learning or full-stack software products.
Hands-on experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows.
The ability to write high-quality production code across the full development lifecycle.
Practical experience building or fine-tuning ML models.
What success looks like
In this role, success means taking bold experiments in agent autonomy and cost efficiency and turning them into reliable, production-ready capabilities. You'll know you're succeeding when Junie can tackle complex multi-day engineering tasks autonomously and the tool you build every day actively improves your own engineering workflow.
Why join JetBrains?
Strong base salary. We offer competitive pay that reflects your skills and experience.
Flexible work location. Enjoy the freedom to work from home or from the office.
Remote work. Spend up to 30 days per year working remotely from abroad.
Extra time off. More days to relax, recharge, and do the things you love.
Medical insurance allowance. Enjoy peace of mind for you and your family
Learning and development opportunities. Access to conferences, courses, and language classes.

From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
We’re looking for a
Sr Software Engineer
to join the Platform Ops team (Platform Engineering) and enable developer productivity by building and improving developer tooling and environments, and by improving other productivity tools around observability. Our team builds the shared systems and workflows engineers rely on every day—internal developer environments and self-serve tooling that makes the recommended way to ship changes the easiest way. This is a platform tooling role with a focus is on reusable capabilities and self-service workflows adopted across teams.
You’ll also help develop AI-based workflows for productivity and efficiency, including automation that improves infrastructure operations (for example, faster triage, automated runbook steps, and better self-service for common issues). You’ll prioritize the highest-impact problems by looking at where time is being lost today (slow builds, flaky tests, manual release steps, repetitive operational work) and turning that into concrete projects. You’ll set clear success metrics up front and use them to guide design decisions and rollouts.
Expect to partner closely with engineering teams to drive adoption, document changes, and iterate based on feedback. You’ll drive cross-team work across internal tooling, developer environments, observability, and reliability, focusing on measurable improvements (for example: shorter lead time, fewer incidents, and faster recovery). You’ll add automation and enable developer workflows across all three major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
Over time, you’ll own medium-sized projects end-to-end: identify the highest-friction workflows with partner teams, build and ship improvements, roll them out safely, and iterate based on adoption and measurable outcomes (for example: faster builds, fewer flaky tests, shorter time to debug, and less operational toil). You’ll collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, Release Engineering, Security, and product engineering teams to make improvements that are easy to adopt and maintain.
What You’ll Do
Build internal tools and services in
Python
and/or
Go
Build tooling for our internal developer platform (self-service workflows, shared patterns, developer-facing interfaces)
Add automation and enable developer workflows across all three major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
Develop AI-based workflows that improve developer experience and reduce repetitive manual work, including efficiency gains in infrastructure operations
Improve developer feedback loops through better observability (metrics/logs/traces), making failures easier to diagnose
Automate common engineering workflows (scaffolding, environment setup, releases, operational runbooks)
Improve observability for platform services (metrics, logs, traces) to make issues easier to detect and debug
Integrate tools into existing workflows (CLI, Slack, GitHub, dashboards) where it reduces time-to-resolution
Participate in on-call/incident response as needed and drive follow-up automation to prevent repeat issues
Skills We’re Looking For
Professional software engineering experience in
Python
and/or
Go
Experience building developer productivity tooling (CI systems, build tooling, developer portals, workflow automation)
Experience with at least one cloud provider (
AWS
,
Azure
, or
GCP
)
Strong fundamentals: testing, code review, debugging, and operating production services
Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-team environment
You'll have an edge if you have:
Kubernetes experience
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu), including reusable modules and safe state management

During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
We’re looking for a
Staff Software Engineer
to join the Platform Ops team (Platform Engineering) and lead initiatives that enable developer productivity by building and improving developer tooling and environments, and by improving other productivity tools around observability.
As a staff engineer on the team, you’ll lead medium-to-large initiatives end-to-end: define the problem with stakeholders, write a design and rollout plan, build and operate the solution in Python/Go, and measure results. You’ll work across Platform Engineering, Release Engineering, Security, and product engineering teams to make improvements that are adopted broadly and remain reliable over time.
What You’ll Do
Lead end-to-end projects that improve developer tooling, environments, and operational workflows (speed, reliability, and safety)
Design and operate internal tooling/services in
Python
and/or
Go
Build tooling for our internal developer platform (self-service workflows, shared patterns, developer-facing interfaces)
Design/build and document “paved paths” and self-service capabilities so teams can ship without extensive platform expertise
Improve reliability through automation and observability (metrics/logs/traces), and drive incident follow-ups to reduce recurrence
Set technical direction (design docs, tradeoffs, sequencing) and drive delivery across stakeholders
Mentor engineers through design and code reviews
Skills We’re Looking For
:
Strong experience building and operating production services in
Python
and/or
Go
Experience with at least one cloud provider (
AWS
,
Azure
, or
GCP
) and core primitives (IAM, networking, compute)
Experience building developer productivity tooling (CI systems, build tooling, developer portals, workflow automation)
Track record leading ambiguous, cross-team technical projects to completion
Strong communication and engineering judgment
You'll have an edge if you have
:
Kubernetes/platform abstractions experience
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu), including reusable modules, safe state practices, and modernization of shared platform foundations
Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) / developer portals / self-service tooling
