adjoe builds the technologies behind mobile app growth and monetization, challenging the status quo of adtech by redefining how apps acquire users and generate revenue. Our two products, Playtime Arcade and adjoe Ads, sit at opposite ends of the mobile advertising spectrum: rewarded engagement and programmatic in-app advertising. Together they run on 13% of the world's smartphones, connecting advertisers, publishers, and hundreds of millions of users, with one goal: making mobile advertising work better for everyone in the ecosystem.
Next-Gen Machine Intelligence for Scalable Discovery & Engagement
The Data Science Research team builds foundational ML representations and advanced AI capabilities that enhance both Playtime and adjoe Ads. Operating as a horizontal deep-tech layer, the team leverages advanced AI and deep learning approaches—specifically generative approaches —to deliver critical systems such as high-dimensional user embeddings, general content understanding and sequential recommendation. These frameworks scale adjoe's products beyond standard industry limitations, utilizing behavioral and transactional data from over 770 million users.
The team operates at the intersection of bleeding-edge R&D and high-scale production engineering, acting as the company’s internal science bar raiser and primary consulting layer for complex ML bottlenecks. The stack is optimized for deep learning and heavy data throughput: PyTorch and [Ray/Hugging Face] for training and fine-tuning foundation models, Trino and Athena for querying massive user-behavior data lakes, and dedicated GPU infrastructure for heavy workloads. The full lifecycle of these AI capabilities is owned by the team—from academic paper translation and offline prototyping to deploying core algorithmic frameworks built to sustain high-throughput, realtime production environments.
Your Mission & Who We Are Looking For:
- PhD or equivalent research depth, with a production track record. You have a PhD in CS, Statistics, Math, or Physics, or an MSc with extensive industry research, and publications in top-tier venues like SIGIR, KDD, NeurIPS, or ICLR. You've spent 4+ years building large-scale recommender systems in high-throughput environments: AdTech, e-commerce, or social.
- You translate research into production, not just prototypes. You distill SOTA research into robust, production-ready code optimized for sub-millisecond latency. At adjoe, that means architecting multi-stage recommendation pipelines, Generative Retrieval, Deep Ranking, and Re-ranking, serving millions of requests across a stack built on 770 million users' behavioral data.
- Deep expertise in PyTorch and large-scale model optimization. You have hands-on experience with high-concurrency optimization, model quantization, and distillation, the engineering side of getting large generative models to run under extreme production constraints, not just in research environments.
- Content understanding and embeddings are core to your work. You research and develop information-rich user and ad embeddings using unsupervised and generative approaches, directly improving the quality of predictions across both Playtime and adjoe Ads.
- Raises the technical bar around them. You lead architectural debates, mentor junior scientists, and drive the team's research direction without needing a roadmap handed to you.
🌎 We welcome applications from talent worldwide and provide relocation support to Hamburg, Germany for those ready to join our team.
What’s in It for You?
At adjoe, you’re not here to just close JIRA tickets, you’re helping build the infrastructure behind one of the most impactful platforms in adtech. The systems you work on will reach hundreds of millions of users and power billions of decisions every day.
- Go Big. Own projects with impact on 770M users and push adtech boundaries.
- Move Fast. Ship solutions multiple times a day, learn from results, and keep momentum.
- Be Direct. Solve problems openly and collaborate across teams.
- Thrive Together. Grow with a diverse, global team of people from over 40 different countries that learn from each other.
- Have Fun. Celebrate wins, enjoy daily victories, and bring your energy.
We welcome applications from people who will contribute to the diversity of our company.

EveryMatrix is a leading B2B SaaS provider delivering iGaming software, content and services. We provide casino, sports betting, platform and payments, and affiliate management to 300 customers worldwide.
But that's not all! We're not just about numbers, we're about people. With a team of over 1400 passionate individuals spread across twelve countries in Europe and Asia, we're all united by our love for innovation and teamwork.
Join us on this exciting journey as we continue to redefine the iGaming landscape, one groundbreaking solution at a time.
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Armenia!
About the role:
We are looking for a senior generalist engineer. You will work across PHP, AngularJS, Go, Node, and SQL. Strong in PHP, able to pick up Go and Node as needed, able to work in a system you did not write.
You own features from design to production, write short design docs before non-trivial work, and work directly with product and QA. You already use agentic coding tools daily.
Senior here is not about years of experience. It is about how you operate, technically and with people:
Takes the hard tasks.
Picks up the unclear, risky, or unpopular problem and drives it until it is working in production for real users. Done means live, not a ticket status.
Flexible in solutions.
Has more than one way to solve a problem and chooses based on constraints, not habit.
Moves fast when it matters.
Knows when to ship quickly and when to slow down, and can tell the difference.
Communicates.
Explains decisions clearly, keeps people informed, raises problems early instead of late.
Gives and takes feedback.
Direct, specific, constructive. Not defensive when the feedback comes back.
Owns outcomes.
Not just the code, but whether the thing actually works for the people using it.
What you'll get to do:
Build and ship features across the stack: data model, API, UI.
Help split the monolith into services: define service boundaries, plan data migrations, roll out changes step by step without downtime.
Modernize legacy code where it pays off.
Write short design docs for non-trivial changes.
Own what you ship: monitoring, alerts, fixes.
Design schemas, write efficient queries, build reports operators depend on.
Review code and mentor.
What we're looking for:
Solid experience building and running production software at a senior level.
Strong in PHP; able to pick up Go and Node as needed.
Solid with relational databases: schema design, query performance, migrations on live data.
Experience improving a large legacy codebase incrementally.
Usage of agentic AI coding tools daily. You can show us how you plan work for an agent, where you trust it, and where you don't.
Writing tests and treating correctness especially seriously where money, commissions, and reporting are involved.
Writing clear design docs, tickets, and PR descriptions.
Communicating directly with product, QA, and non-technical stakeholders.
Working English, spoken and written.
Nice to have
Splitting a monolith into services in production.
Kubernetes and Cloudflare in daily operations.
LLM-backed features: pipelines, evaluation, self-hosted open-weight models, MCP servers.
Applied ML in production (recommendation or scoring).
Payments, fintech, or iGaming.
Web scraping at scale, anti-bot handling, proxies.
Here's what we offer:
Start with 24 days of annual leave, with 2 additional days added each year, up to 34 days by your fifth year with us.
Benefit from two Free Fridays each year, limited to one per quarter.
Access online learning platform like Udemy for Business, and a budget for external training.
Daily catered lunch or monthly lunch allowance.
Private Medical Subscription.
Gym allowance.
Parking
Team-building activities in various locations.

The role and its impact
As our Data Science Manager, you will look after a small team of 3 Data Scientists within Marketing Data Science, and you will stay close to the data yourself. You will be the people manager for data scientists based in Australia, the UK and South Africa, while personally owning marketing measurement for North America, including campaign and event measurement, churn analysis and funnel effectiveness.
Your work shapes how quickly and how confidently marketing decisions get made at Xero. You will bring AI-driven insight generation and agentic analytics into everyday delivery, so the pod spends less time assembling reports and more time on the questions that move the business. You will also set the operating rhythm that helps a team spread across timezones prioritise well, share the load and keep delivery sustainable, and you will present complex analysis simply so that insight turns into decisions people act on.
The team and how they connect
Marketing Data Science helps Xero deliver digital, customer and marketing outcomes through insight that is increasingly AI-augmented. The wider team sits across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, South Africa and North America, so async ways of working, shared documentation and rotating meeting times are part of everyday life. You will work alongside other Data Science leads and partner closely with regional marketing teams, who rely on the pod as a thinking partner rather than a reporting service.
Initially, you will focus on
➤ Working across SQL, Python, BigQuery, Google Analytics, Mixpanel and GTM, with dashboards and visualisation tools that people genuinely use.
➤ Campaign and event measurement for North America, so marketing teams can see what is working and where to invest next.
➤ Churn analysis and funnel effectiveness work that shapes acquisition, retention, engagement and personalisation.

You have one or more clear strengths. We do not expect experience in every area, but we value meaningful depth or exceptional potential in at least one direction.
You are willing to understand users and business context instead of passively receiving requirements.
You are open to unfamiliar domains and can use AI and team collaboration to close knowledge gaps quickly.
