About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
Help shape a brand that moves as fast as the platform it represents.
As a Brand Designer on Vercel's Core team, you'll help evolve the foundational visual language of a brand trusted by the most ambitious builders in the world. You'll create systems, experiences, and defining brand moments that are instantly recognizable, creatively ambitious, and built to scale.
This is not a purely static design role. You'll work across brand systems, digital experiences, product launches, social, motion, print, events, environments, and the occasional piece of swag. We're looking for someone who can design, prototype, and use AI-assisted code to bring brand ideas to life.
You're a tinkerer, a visual strategist, and a creative explorer. You create clarity from complexity and actively use AI throughout your workflow to design, prototype, automate, experiment, and write code. You push the work until it's sharp, then ship.
This is craft at speed. It's a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who sweats the details, thinks in systems, and knows when to veer left for a one-off moment that makes people stop scrolling.
We move quickly. The bar is high. Your work ships.
What you'll do
Lead design across key brand moments — product launches, campaigns, events, internal initiatives, and moments not yet defined
Evolve the foundational elements of Vercel's visual identity: typography, color, composition, iconography, imagery, motion, and product-brand expression
Design across mediums, including web, motion, 3D, social, print, swag, and environments, choosing whatever format best serves the story
Move fluidly between Figma and code — writing HTML/CSS/JS and using AI-assisted tools (v0, Cursor, Claude Code) — to prototype independently and explore new forms of brand expression
Build and evolve a brand system that scales without going stale, translating it into tools, templates, and production-ready assets
Work hands-on from concept through final production, including preparing files, specs, and assets for implementation
Know when motion, 3D, code, or emerging technology meaningfully strengthens an idea — and when a simpler execution serves better
Establish a shared visual language across product, marketing, and internal comms — flexible enough to scale from everyday use to major brand moments
Partner with design engineers to polish prototypes into high-quality digital experiences
Collaborate with engineering, marketing, product design, and leadership to align on strategy and ship cohesive work
Direct and collaborate with external specialists — studios, freelancers, photographers, illustrators, printers, fabricators — when execution extends beyond your own craft
Present and defend creative decisions, connecting visual choices to brand, product, audience, and business goals
What you need
5+ years in brand, marketing, or visual design — ideally at a SaaS, developer tools, or fast-growing tech company
A portfolio showing exceptional taste, systems thinking, and execution across mediums — not just polished final images, but how you think, build systems, collaborate, navigate constraints, and get work into production
Exceptional typography and layout skills, with obsessive attention to spacing, hierarchy, rhythm, proportion, and alignment
Deep understanding of visual storytelling, brand systems, composition, motion, and digital experiences
You use AI throughout your process — visual exploration, prototyping, production, automation, and writing front-end code — not just to generate imagery or concepts, but to write, understand, debug, and iterate on code
Comfortable with tools like v0, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted coding environments to build working prototypes
Practical understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — enough to refine AI-generated code to a high visual and interaction standard
You don't need to be a full-time engineer, but you're technically curious, comfortable in code, and capable of shipping functional prototypes
You think beyond static files and enjoy bringing ideas to life as real, interactive experiences
Strong production knowledge across digital and physical formats — responsive design, asset delivery, print prep, environmental graphics, vendor production
Comfortable moving between conceptual thinking, detailed execution, prototyping, and production
Benefits & Compensation:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $156,000-$234,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Own frontend across product and marketing surfaces: You will work across both our core product interface and customer-facing web pages, ensuring a cohesive, polished user experience across all touch points. This includes building features in the web app and also collaborating on our website to keep branding and user experience consistent and high-quality.
- Lead design system and UI components: You’ll design, build, and maintain a scalable design system and reusable component library that empowers all our engineers and designers. By delivering robust, high-quality UI components and infrastructure, you will ensure consistency and excellence across all product surfaces. You’ll also collaborate with designers to establish guidelines and patterns, enabling the team to rapidly build beautiful, consistent UIs with confidence.
- Craft pixel-perfect user experiences: Work closely with our design team to translate Figma designs into reality with pixel-perfect precision and delightful interactions. You will partner with designers to refine UI patterns and ensure every detail is right – from typography and spacing to motion and hover states. We care deeply about design craft, so you’ll sweat the details to build an interface that feels elegant, intuitive, and “just right” for users.
- Champion frontend excellence: As the senior frontend expert, you will set and uphold high standards for performance, accessibility, and code quality. You’ll optimize our frontend for speed (efficient loading, bundle size, smooth rendering) and ensure our product works flawlessly across browsers and devices. You will also incorporate best practices for accessibility and internationalization, making our product usable by all customers.
- Move fast with pragmatism and quality: In our startup environment, you’ll iterate quickly to ship improvements and new features. You’ll make thoughtful engineering trade-offs that balance rapid delivery with maintainability and polish. This means knowing when to build a quick solution and when to invest in the long-term path – always keeping user experience and business impact in mind.
- Full-stack involvement: While your focus will be frontend, you should be comfortable venturing into the backend when needed. You’ll integrate frontend features with our GraphQL API and occasionally update server-side code (we use Go/gqlgen) to unblock frontend work. In short, you’ll do what it takes across the stack to deliver a great end-to-end product experience – without ever sacrificing our high bar for UI quality.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Frontend expertise and modern skills: Extensive experience (5+ years) building world-class web interfaces using React, TypeScript, HTML and CSS. You have a proven track record of shipping polished user interfaces in production products . Bonus points if you’ve worked with Tailwind or similar modern CSS frameworks for rapid development.
- Design sense and attention to detail: You have a keen eye for good design and care deeply about the details of the user experience. We look for people who share our passion for software craftsmanship and getting even the smallest details right—this aligns with Sierra’s value of craftsmanship. You take pride in creating pixel-perfect, intuitive UIs and will proactively fix even minor UI issues because you value quality.
- Strong collaboration and communication: You excel at working closely with designers and product managers to achieve the best outcome. You partner with product and design teams to craft beautiful user experiences , and you communicate clearly about tradeoffs and solutions. You’re open to feedback and can articulate your ideas in discussions, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
- Self-motivation and drive: You are intensely goal-oriented and proactive, able to take ownership of projects with minimal guidance. You’ve thrived in fast-paced environments and have a track record of delivering projects quickly and frequently. You can manage ambiguity and complexity, breaking down big problems into simple, workable solutions. In short, you get things done with speed and quality in equal measure.
- Pragmatic problem-solving: You approach engineering with practicality. You make effective trade-offs between ideal solutions and pragmatic deliverables, always considering the user impact and long-term maintainability. You’re not ideological about technology – you choose the best tool for the job and can learn new technologies on the fly as needed.
- Front-to-back understanding: While specializing in frontend, you have a solid understanding of backend fundamentals. You know how web APIs, databases, and servers work. If needed, you can read and write server-side code. In particular, experience with GraphQL APIs and/or Golang (our backend language) is a plus for this role.
EVEN BETTER...
- Design systems experience: Previous experience building or contributing to design systems or component libraries – either at a company or in open-source—would be a big plus . This means you’ve helped create shared UI frameworks with Figma.
- UI/UX specialization: An eye for user experience beyond coding —e.g. some experience with user research, visual design, or interaction design—would help you excel in crafting a delightful product. If you’ve worked closely with UX designers or have design skills yourself, that’s a bonus.
- Domain experience: Exposure to AI or ML products, especially building UIs for complex data or AI-driven features. For example, if you’ve built chat interfaces, analytics dashboards, or enterprise SaaS products before, you’ll have useful relevant experience.
- Full-stack prowess: Experience with our broader tech stack is helpful. This could mean familiarity with GraphQL (and libraries like gqlgen or Relay), Go or other back-end languages, and cloud platforms. While not required, such experience means you can hit the ground running across our codebase .
- Startup mentality: You’ve been an early engineer at a startup or small team before. You understand the intensity and flexibility needed in a startup environment and are excited to wear many hats. If you love taking initiative and having a broad impact, you’ll fit right in.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.

Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
At Figma we believe design doesn’t end in a file or with your designer - it includes everything that goes into the product you ship: the production code that ties it all together, the systems and developer tools that make that code reliable, the context you provide to our AI agents, and the documentation that keeps everyone on the same page.
The Code Area at Figma is redefining how Designers, PMs and Engineers collaborate. We are responsible for agentic workflows enabling ideation and prototyping on production codebases as well as accelerating the journey from design to code. In 2023,

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses.
SECURITY ENGINEER
Security Engineering builds the foundations that let Sierra deliver powerful AI agents while protecting customer data and trust. We partner across product and platform to make security, privacy, and safety core product capabilities and secure defaults.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Our work spans several security domains. You’ll go deep where your strengths and interests are strongest, with opportunities to explore new areas alongside the team.
Build the Foundations of Trust.
Design and ship systems and controls that make Sierra secure by default — spanning product security, infrastructure security, enterprise security, identity, and detection and response. You’ll work across all layers of our platform to identify risk, strengthen architectures, and build durable defenses.
Own Cross-Cutting Systems.
Partner with product, platform, and infrastructure team to threat model designs, review code and architectures, and implement and evolve Sierra’s security primitives. You’ll make pragmatic design trade-offs between usability, performance, reliability, and security.
Find and Reduce Real Risk.
Identify vulnerabilities, investigate suspicious behavior, and improve detections and response workflows across applications, cloud infrastructure, identity, endpoints, and internal systems. Turn what you learn into systemic fixes and controls that prevent entire classes of issues.
Automate and Scale Security Workflows.
Create developer-friendly tooling to reduce risk and friction — whether through automating security checks in CI/CD, building secure paved paths, improving vulnerability discovery, or instrumenting high-signal detection and response.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Deep Security Expertise.
Strong security fundamentals and depth in at least one domain, such as product security, platform or cloud security, enterprise security, identity, detection and response, or offensive security. You can apply that expertise across unfamiliar systems and emerging threats.
Product and Platform Mindset.
You care about building secure, scalable systems that enable, not block, innovation. You work closely with teams across Sierra to make trade-offs clear and help them move quickly without sacrificing trust.
Software Engineering and Systems Thinking.
You’re comfortable reading and writing code, understanding how production systems fit together, and building pragmatic software solutions to security problems. You can reason about system design and contribute to APIs, services, and security controls, with an eye toward reliability and maintainability.
Curiosity and Ownership.
You take ambiguous, cross-cutting problems from first principles to production and go deep when needed: threat modeling a distributed system, tracing an authorization decision across services, or following an investigation from weak signal to root cause. You define the problem, align partners, build the solution, and own it in production.
EVEN BETTER IF…
- You’ve worked across more than one of product security, infrastructure security, enterprise security, detection and response, or offensive security.
- You’ve built security frameworks, platforms, or solutions that engineers and responders rely on to prevent, detect, investigate, and remediate security issues at scale.
- You have exposure to AI systems or care about designing secure-by-default LLM applications and agentic systems.
- You think like an attacker — you naturally ask “what could go wrong?” when reviewing designs or investigating systems. You’ve found or fixed real security issues in production.
- You thrive in 0→1 environments, where foundational systems have to balance speed, reliability, and trust.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.

WHAT WE OFFER
We want our benefits to reflect our values and offer the following to full-time employees:

- Medical, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family
- Life insurance and disability benefits
- Retirement plan dependent on country of employment
- Parental leave
- Fertility and family building benefits through Carrot
- Lunch, as well as delicious snacks and coffee to keep you energized

These benefits are further detailed in Sierra's policies, may vary by region, and are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefits plans. Eligible full-time employees can participate in Sierra's equity plans subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
BE YOU, WITH US

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer who thrives in a deeply hands-on environment and enjoys being close to the code on a daily basis. This role is heavily focused on building, optimising, and scaling backend services in a high-load system where performance and reliability are critical.
You’ll be working on complex, real-time challenges at the core of our platform - improving latency, ensuring high availability, and making systems more efficient at scale. This is not a coordination-heavy role; it’s for someone who enjoys writing production code, solving tough engineering problems, and seeing the direct impact of their work.
If you’re product-driven, take ownership, and prefer a “build first, improve fast” approach while working on systems where every millisecond matters - this role will feel like home.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a cross-functional team owning a core product within the platform
- Design, build, and deliver new backend features end-to-end in a distributed environment
- Write high-quality, production-level code daily, contributing directly to a high-load, scalable system
- Take ownership of services handling financial transactions at scale, with a strong focus on reliability and accuracy
- Proactively suggest and implement improvements in architecture, processes, and development practices
- Participate in code and architectural reviews to maintain high engineering standards
- Solve complex business and technical challenges with pragmatic, efficient solutions
- Participating in on-call rotations within the squad to ensure the reliability and availability of our systems
- Play an active role in ongoing tech transformation initiatives across the platform
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions used by millions globally
Requirements
- Solid experience with Node.js/TypeScript is ideal, but we also welcome experts in other OOP languages such as Java, Python, C++, C#, or Go
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming techniques
- Deep production experience with Kafka: confident reasoning about consumer-group rebalances and their impact on in-flight processing, offset-commit strategies under retries and duplicate delivery, and the limits of "exactly-once" semantics
- Experience designing idempotent, retry-safe handlers for at-least-once pipelines: transactional outbox, idempotency keys, and deduplication
- Experience building services with gRPC or similar RPC frameworks
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, plus production experience with at least one NoSQL technology at scale, such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Redis
- Hands-on experience running services on Kubernetes and AWS/GCP: deployment, autoscaling, resource limits, and production debugging
- Production operations experience: on-call ownership of a high-load system, including incident response, impact assessment, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements
Nice to Have
- Experience with ClickHouse or other columnar/analytical databases
- Experience with multi-region / failover architectures: data replication, regional isolation, and graceful degradation
- Practical use of AI coding agents such as Cursor or Claude Code as part of daily development: effective prompting, reviewing, and validating AI-generated code
- Understanding of application security and industry best practices
- Gambling domain experience
