We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

✨ ONE PLATFORM, A WHOLE WORLD OF OPPORTUNITY
The best jobs have always clustered in a handful of the world's wealthiest cities. But talent is everywhere. Oyster set out to close that gap - building a global employment platform that lets companies hire, pay, and care for brilliant people anywhere.
We're proof that a high-performing culture doesn't need an office. Distributed across 60+ countries since 2020, we've built something the industry keeps noticing:
- Ranked #10 of 250 on TIME and Statista's 2026 list of America's Top WorkTech Companies https://www.oysterhr.com/library/oyster-hr-named-10-of-americas-top-worktech-companies-of-2026-by-time
- Named one of America's Greatest Startup Workplaces 2026 https://www.oysterhr.com/library/oyster-2026-newsweek-award by Newsweek
- A G2 Spring 2026 Leader https://www.oysterhr.com/library/oyster-named-best-roi-for-any-global-employment-platform-for-g2-spring-2026 across Employer of Record, Global Employment, Multi-country Payroll, and HR Compliance
- The only B Corp-certified global employment platform ~ independently verified since 2023
Two of those rankings measured our business impact from the outside. One measured how our own people feel about working here. They landed in the same place ~ because at Oyster, culture and performance aren't separate conversations. They're the same one.
And we're just getting started. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who care as much as you do, we'd love for you to apply.
Location: To create the best experience for this employee and to meet the business needs, this role requires you to be based within the EMEA region.
ROLE SUMMARY
This is an exciting time to join Oyster. The Netherlands is one of our most important markets and this role will give you real ownership over how payroll runs, with the scope to help us achieve best-in-class payroll standards at scale.
You'll be our lead in-house payroll expert: the person we trust to own Dutch payroll end-to-end, build scalable workflows in AFAS, Nmbrs by Visma and / or Loket.nl http://Loket.nl, and set the standard for how payroll should run. If you've run native Dutch payroll from the ground up, know AFAS Nmbrs by Visma and/or Loket.nl http://Loket.nl inside out, have strong opinions on doing payroll right, and have helped build or transform a payroll function before, this role is built for you.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run payroll end-to-end. Own the full Dutch payroll cycle in-house; accurate, compliant, and on time.
- Master data ownership. Oversee the validation of employee payroll master data; new hires, terminations, salary changes, variable pay, benefits, absences, and garnishments (loonbeslag), ensuring every change is processed accurately and within payroll deadlines.
- Payroll controls & quality. Run rigorous pre- and post-payroll validations each cycle, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to keep payroll accurate before issues reach team members, customers or Finance.
- Handle all statutory filings & accesses. Loonaangifte (monthly payroll tax) and Jaaropgave (annual statement) — you own the Belastingdienst submissions. You will also be responsible for setting up and managing required government accesses (Belastingdienst, UWV).
- Own the payroll system. Configure and maintain the in-house payroll system, test legislative updates before they go live, troubleshoot issues, and partner with our Product team to improve automation and scalability.
- Be the subject matter expert. Advise the business on Loonheffing (payroll tax), Sociale verzekeringen (social insurance), Dutch arbeidsrecht (labour law), 30% ruling applications and CAO (collective labour agreement) interpretation.
- Own the numbers. Oversee payroll journals, GL mappings, reconciliations with Finance, and full data integrity.
- Own complex escalations. Be the key point of contact for our most complex client payroll issues. Pair your deep technical expertise with a customer-first mindset to turn hard problems into a best-in-class experience.
- Reporting. Maintain and prepare statutory and ad-hoc reports to meet regulatory requirements, including EU Pay Transparency Directive obligations, AVG/GDPR compliance across payroll data, WKR and Ondernemingsraad (works council)-facing pay assessment documentation.
- Audits. Provide structured data and documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Level the team up. Improve processes, coach junior specialists through complex problems rather than solving issues for them, and back up Regional Managers when needed. Maintain a living knowledge base e.g. playbooks and SOPs. so legal updates and process knowledge stay documented and shared, never siloed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years running the complete native (in-house) payroll process for the Netherlands, comfortable independently handling a high volume of payslips per month.
- Advanced, hands-on AFAS and / or Nmbrs by Visma and / or Loket.nl http://Loket.nl experience is non-negotiable.
- PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) and/or VPS (Vakopleiding Payroll Services) certification and/or NIRPA Register Salarisadministrateur (RSa) registration; HBO (Bachelor) in Business Admin or Finance highly valued.
- Deep, current working knowledge of Dutch wage tax, social insurance, and labor law, and the confidence to advise stakeholders directly, not just execute.
- Dutch at C1/C2 for interaction with local authorities and fluent English for collaborating with our async global team.
- Comfortable owning complex, sensitive client escalations; balancing technical precision with a genuine customer-first mindset.
- An analytical, productivity-obsessed mindset. You're not a corporate "just follow the process" type; you thrive working from a blank canvas to build and set up processes, with an automation mindset that keeps improving how the work gets done.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving cross-functional change, even without an established playbook.
- Some experience coaching or mentoring less experienced colleagues; you like building others up, not just solving problems yourself.
- Comfortable working largely asynchronously in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- A broader accounting background or qualification (e.g. RA/AA accountancy qualification); particularly useful for the GL mapping and reconciliation side of the role.
- Proven experience working on and delivering cross-functional HR/Payroll projects.
- Hands-on capability working with AI tools to optimize payroll or operations workflows.
- Strong data transformation skills and practical experience with data analytics platforms.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Notion is reimagining how enterprise software is sold and the Solutions Consultant is the cornerstone of that model. As a SC, you’ll own the full customer journey: from first meeting through workflow design, commercial close, workflow implementation, expansion & renewal planning. You are the single owner of your accounts, accountable for ensuring what you sell actually gets realized. You’ll build live in front of customers, translate workflow designs into commercial outcomes, and be a trusted partner with genuine continuity across the entire relationship. If you’re a builder who loves to sell—and you want to work at the intersection of AI, productivity, and enterprise—this is the role.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Own the full customer lifecycle—new logo, expansion, and renewal—as the single account owner for your book of business, with responsibility for ensuring credits sold translate into credits consumed
- Design and build workflow solutions live with customers: the discovery is the demo, not the slide deck—you’ll run discovery, design current-to-future-state workflow architecture, and co-build in Notion with the customer
- Partner with BDRs on target account planning and co-own the outbound motion for your book, running direct outreach to priority stakeholders alongside BDR-sourced pipeline
- Navigate commercial sizing, proposal construction, procurement, legal, and security review to close deals with the right scope, credits, and implementation path
- Guide customers through early implementation with a clear adoption plan and handoff to Outcomes Architects for ongoing multi-workflow expansion
- Partner with Outcomes Architects (OA) on onboarding, adoption plans, expansion strategies, and renewal execution—owning the commercial arc while OAs drive day-to-day workflow adoption
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 1-3 years of experience selling technical products to technical buyers
- Technical fluency and genuine comfort building live in software—you can demo, co-design, and troubleshoot in front of a customer without a specialist in the room
- Strong discovery and qualification instincts, with the ability to map customer workflows and translate them into commercial outcomes and adoption plans
- Experience running complex, multi-stakeholder interactions including procurement, legal, and security review cycles
- You can own the room - you operate with agency and urgency to bring new ideas and workflows to our customers and present simple ways to solve complex problems
- You’re obsessed with AI, constantly building with the newest tools & learning new ways of working
NICE TO HAVES
- Full-cycle B2B software sales experience or solutions engineering experience with a consistent track record of exceeding quota across new logo acquisition and expansion motions
- Familiarity with usage-based or consumption-based pricing models and the ability to structure credit-based commercial proposals
- Prior experience selling to mid-market and enterprise accounts in productivity, collaboration, or workflow software
- Experience in a shared account ownership model, partnering with a post-sale or CS team as part of an integrated customer motion
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role's scope and complexity, and the candidate's experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. The estimated range for total on target earnings (including base salary and on target incentive pay) for this role is €144,000 - €156,000 per year.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
