About Backblaze
Backblaze is the object storage leader in the open cloud movement, fueling customer success with cloud storage built purposefully to unlock budgets, unburden administrators, and unleash innovators. Together with our partners, we’re helping customers break free from the restrictive, overpriced legacy solutions that hold them back, and blaze forward with the full power of the open cloud in their hands.
Founded in 2007, we scaled the business with less than $3 million in outside funding until 2021, when we did a traditional IPO on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Today, Backblaze generates over $100m in revenue and is the leading specialized storage cloud, managing over three billion gigabytes of data storage for 500K+ customers in 175+ countries, including businesses, developers, IT professionals, and individuals.
But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We’re seeking a
B2 Principal Product Manager
to join our team!
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and accomplished Principal Product Manager to join our Product team. Backblaze’s B2 cloud object storage offers multi-exabyte, S3-compatible, globally available object storage that unlocks app builder innovation across AI neoclouds and traditional hyperscalers at a fraction of the cost of traditional cloud infrastructure hyperscalers.
The Principal Product Manager for B2 will work closely with key stakeholders to understand the evolution of cloud storage and the customer problems in the space, and determine product strategies and roadmap to address those problems. This person will work independently to lead efforts for new feature discovery and delivery, as well as improvements to execute on those strategies. Understanding customer problems through interviews and market research, and translating them into requirements, is critical.
What You'll Do

Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle from discovery through delivery in feature development.
Gather and synthesize inputs for discovery and prioritization from internal functions, customers, and partners across the full spectrum of R&D development, including feature capabilities, user experience challenges, cost optimization, and technical debt.
Translate complex customer challenges into clear, concise, and actionable product requirements in collaboration with Design, Engineering, and GTM teams.
Collaborate with Product Marketing to launch and drive adoption of new products and features.
Act as a subject matter expert and evangelist for Backblaze's solutions, presenting to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams.
Establish and track key product metrics (KPIs), using data to guide iteration and growth decisions.
Maintain a deep understanding of the latest advancements in the object storage market, including customer use cases and competitive offerings, to identify new opportunities and ensure Backblaze’s market leadership position.
The Right Fit
8+ years of Product Management experience in tech businesses, preferably on IaaS and/or SaaS offerings.
A proven track record of successfully launching and scaling technical products or platforms in high-growth businesses involving in-depth cross-functional collaboration and leadership across R&D and go-to-market functions.
Strong grasp of cloud architecture, APIs, and security and compliance.
Proven success in owning product roadmaps, defining MVPs, and driving the complete product life cycle.
Strategic thinker who can translate market trends, customer needs, and technical innovations into a clear product vision and actionable roadmap.
Deep empathy for customers and users in gathering and synthesizing input, and a passion for solving their most pressing security challenges.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to identifying problems, determining potential solutions, and building consensus around your vision with internal and external stakeholders.

About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Finance Manager, Sales to join our Finance team. You will be a key partner to Sales and RevOps leadership, helping shape metrics-driven decision making across Sales budget and headcount, commissions, SLG bookings, quota planning, capacity, and productivity. This role will have high cross-functional visibility and will be central to building the financial discipline, operating cadence, and scalable reporting needed to support Vercel’s next stage of growth.
What you'll do
Serve as the trusted Finance partner for the CRO by delivering actionable insights through forecasting, scenario analysis, business reviews, and resource allocation recommendations
Own Sales budget and headcount planning, including bottoms-up workforce models that connect hiring plans, ramp timing, productivity assumptions, commissions, and compensation costs to bookings and revenue goals
Support SLG bookings and quota planning by partnering with Sales and RevOps on quota capacity, ramp, attainment, coverage, territory design inputs, and productivity assumptions
Support commissions planning, forecasting, and reporting in partnership with Accounting, RevOps, and Sales leadership, including commission expense, accruals, plan changes, and performance insights
Lead Sales BvA reviews and operating cadences, translating financial results into clear variance narratives, risks, opportunities, and recommendations
Improve Sales Finance reporting and tooling by building scalable dashboards, templates, and processes that reduce manual work, improve forecast accuracy, and surface key risks earlier
What you need
Commercially sharp and analytically rigorous
– You understand how Sales and RevOps teams operate and can connect SLG bookings, quota planning, pipeline, capacity, attainment, productivity, commissions, headcount, and spend to the company’s financial plan.
Anti-bureaucracy, pro-speed
– You streamline workflows, remove drag, and make decisions with clarity. You believe a 3-bullet Slack post with a clear recommendation is better than a 20-slide deck.
Tech-forward operator
– You go beyond Excel. You use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to automate, clean, and generate insights. You treat Finance like a product—always shipping improvements.
Detail-obsessed
– You know that a single error in quota capacity, ramp timing, commission logic, or start dates can swing the forecast by millions. You sweat the details so the CFO and Sales leaders don’t have to.
Strong cross-functional partner
– You can build trust with Sales leadership while maintaining financial discipline, communicating tradeoffs clearly, and driving decisions with data.
Benefits & Compensation:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

At ClickUp, we're building the future of work: the first truly converged AI workspace unifying tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search, all supercharged by context-driven AI. We are an AI-native company. Every team member is expected to leverage AI daily, and we evaluate AI fluency as part of our hiring process. Join us and help redefine what's possible. 🚀
ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Engineering Manager - Developer Productivity, you will lead a high-impact team focused on improving developer workflows, reducing friction, and enhancing the overall engineering experience. You’ll collaborate across teams to identify bottlenecks, implement scalable solutions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will directly influence the speed, quality, and happiness of our engineering organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Infrastructure & Tooling
- Oversee the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and internal tools, including AI-powered internal tooling and agents.
- Ensure our developer infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Evaluate and implement new AI-native technologies, considering token economics, compute costs, and AI spend alongside productivity gains.
2. Team Leadership & AI People Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of engineers focused on developer productivity.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Set clear goals and provide regular feedback to drive team performance in partnership with your Director.
- Assess each report's AI fluency level (Assisted, Augmented, Native) and set individual growth targets.
- Include AI fluency as a coaching topic in 1:1s; pair less AI-fluent engineers with AI-native peers for knowledge transfer.
- Create space for AI experimentation: dedicated time, safe-to-fail projects, and learning sprints.
- Recognize and reward AI-driven improvements in performance conversations.
3. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to align priorities.
- Advocate for developer needs and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Communicate capabilities and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
- Write specs, rules files, and documentation that make AI more effective for the whole team.
4. Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track key metrics to measure developer productivity, satisfaction, and AI-driven productivity gains.
- Use data-driven insights to prioritize initiatives and demonstrate impact.
- Track team-level AI adoption metrics and report on AI-augmented workflow effectiveness.
- Continuously iterate on processes to improve engineering velocity and quality.
5. AI-Native Developer Experience
- Identify and eliminate pain points in the development lifecycle, with a focus on AI-augmented workflows.
- Drive adoption of AI coding tools (Cursor, Brain, copilots) as the default across engineering teams.
- Ensure every team member has access to and is actively using AI tools; track adoption and remove blockers (tooling, access, training).
- Partner with engineering teams to design AI-augmented development workflows that multiply team velocity.
- Coach engineers on the Builder model: planning, delegating to agents, reviewing with judgment, and shipping with velocity.
6. AI Governance & Risk
- Ensure the team follows AI usage guidelines (data handling, code review, IP considerations).
- Flag risks from AI-generated code (security, correctness, licensing) proactively.
- Maintain visibility into what AI tools the team is using and how they're being used.
- Run regular retros and feedback loops on AI-related outcomes.
- Review AI-generated outputs alongside the team to build shared quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 7+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices. Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar) and an understanding of how to integrate them into engineering workflows.
- AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to operate at the AI Augmented level or above: you personally use AI tools daily and have coached others on effective AI-assisted development. Familiar with prompt engineering, context engineering, and token economics.
- Builder Mindset: Comfortable with the 80/20 model (planning and review vs. direct execution). Experience orchestrating work across humans and AI agents, with strong judgment on when to delegate to AI vs. when human decision-making is critical.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Experience assessing and developing AI fluency across a team.
- Problem-Solving: Track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions, including building or adopting AI-powered tooling and eval frameworks.
- Governance Awareness: Understanding of AI & non-AI related risks (security, correctness, licensing, data handling) and experience establishing quality standards for outputs.
- Collaboration: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to translate AI capabilities and limitations to non-technical audiences.
- Mindset: Passion for improving developer experiences and driving organizational impact through AI-native practices with a customer first mentality.
WHY JOIN US?
- Impactful Work: Shape the future of developer productivity at a fast-growing, AI-native SaaS company.
- AI-Native Culture: Work in an organization that treats AI as a core competency, not a nice-to-have, with industry-leading investment in AI tooling, agents, and engineering workflows.
- Builder Operating Model: Join a team that's redefining how software gets built: orchestrating AI agents, shipping with compound engineering, and measuring what matters.
- Growth Opportunities: Advance your career on a clear AI-native career pathway with structured fluency levels and development support.
- Flexible Environment: Enjoy the freedom of remote work with a global team.

THE ADVENTURE AHEAD
As a Senior Product Engineer, you bring strong expertise in either backend or frontend engineering alongside the ability and willingness to work across the full stack. You own features end to end, working across customer facing applications, services, APIs, and integration boundaries to deliver complete product outcomes.
Your primary strength may be building cloud native backend services and event driven systems, or developing complex frontend experiences and application architecture. We do not expect equal specialization in every part of the stack. We value strong fundamentals, depth in your primary area, and the ability to contribute effectively across system boundaries.
You work closely with Product, Design, QA, and other engineers to understand customer problems, make sound technical decisions, and take solutions from idea through production and iteration.
THE DAY TO DAY
- Own features end to end Take customer and product problems from discovery and technical design through implementation, production deployment, and iteration.
- Build across the stack Work across frontend applications, APIs, backend services, and integration layers to deliver complete customer outcomes.
- Bring technical depth Contribute strong expertise in your primary discipline while developing a broader understanding of the systems and technologies around it.
- Make good technical decisions Participate in architecture discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and shape solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and pragmatic.
- Stay close to the product Partner with Product and Design to understand customer needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Drive engineering excellence Contribute to strong testing, CI/CD, observability, code quality, and technical debt practices.
- Collaborate across functions Work with Engineering, Product, Design, QA, and platform teams to break down complex problems and deliver high quality software.
- Grow the team Support other engineers through code reviews, pairing, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
YOUR SUPERPOWERS
- Engineering depth and breadth Four to six or more years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in either backend or frontend engineering and practical experience across the broader stack.
- End to end ownership Experience taking features from technical design through development, deployment, and production support.
- Strong fundamentals A solid understanding of software design, APIs, application architecture, testing, and maintainable production software.
- Cloud awareness Experience with cloud environments such as AWS and familiarity with modern CI/CD and observability practices.
- Product mindset The ability to understand customer problems, navigate ambiguity, and balance technical quality with meaningful delivery.
- Collaborative communication The ability to explain technical tradeoffs and work effectively across Engineering, Product, Design, and QA.
BONUS POINTS
- Cloud and event driven systems AWS serverless technologies, asynchronous workflows, distributed systems, or event driven architecture.
- Infrastructure and delivery Infrastructure as Code using CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools, plus CI/CD or deployment experience.
- Frontend architecture Large frontend applications, component architecture, state management, design systems, accessibility, or performance.
- Backend breadth Node.js and TypeScript services or experience with Go, Python, PHP, or other backend technologies.
- Production observability Monitoring, tracing, structured logging, metrics, and production diagnosis.
OUR STACK
Our product teams work primarily with TypeScript across frontend and backend development. Frontend applications include Angular and modern web technologies. Backend and platform systems span Node.js, TypeScript, Go, PHP, Python, AWS, REST APIs, event driven architectures, relational and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, and modern observability tooling.
You do not need deep expertise in every technology we use. We are looking for engineers with depth in a primary discipline, strong software engineering fundamentals, and the ability to become effective quickly in unfamiliar systems.
