BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
Our Platform and Core Engineering teams build the systems that make Kraken secure, resilient, and scalable. Their impact isn’t measured by customer-facing features, but by the strength, correctness, and leverage of the foundations they create. These teams power Kraken systems behind the scenes — enabling product teams to move fast while meeting the highest standards for reliability, compliance, and security.
Engineers design shared services, internal platforms, and critical infrastructure that support company-wide initiatives. They optimize for safety, scalability, observability, auditability, and operational excellence — often operating in regulated, security-sensitive, and risk-heavy environments where precision matters.
We’re looking for engineers with deep systems ownership and an architecture-first mindset — builders who take pride in long-lived services, thrive in complex environments, and are motivated by strengthening the backbone of the crypto ecosystem.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Design and implement robust Rust services and foundational libraries that power Kraken’s core infrastructure, prioritizing correctness, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Write reusable, testable, and highly efficient code built for scale, observability, and operational resilience in production environments.
- Collaborate on large-scale distributed systems architecture, shaping low-latency, fault-tolerant services that support global trading and internal platforms.
- Work alongside hundreds of experienced Rust engineers, contributing to a high-bar engineering culture grounded in ownership, rigor, and craftsmanship.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building and scaling shared systems, internal platforms, and supporting multiple product roadmaps
- Proficient in writing network services or asynchronous code in Rust
- Have a security-first mindset during system design to ensure robustness
- Demonstrate the ability to autonomously debug issues across the stack (OS, network, application)
- Apply a solid understanding of distributed systems and technologies, including RPC protocols, Kafka, and Event-Driven Systems, to design scalable solutions
- Collaborate effectively with product teams to gather requirements and constraints for designing appropriate systems
- Take complete end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries
Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
OUR COMMITMENT
Payward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table. We hire based on merit, seeking out people with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgeable about crypto.
We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Results are considered alongside experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.

- Diagnose current-state workflows, identify friction points, and design scalable future-state solutions in ClickUp.
- Guide customers through governance, architecture, process design, and rollout planning across multiple teams or business units.
- Help customers recover momentum when implementations stall, priorities shift, or stakeholder alignment breaks down.
DRIVE ADOPTION, VALUE REALIZATION, AND ACCOUNT HEALTH
- Partner closely with customer stakeholders to define success measures, adoption milestones, and practical next steps.
- Translate customer goals into clear execution plans that improve adoption, stakeholder engagement, and long-term platform value.

- Turn complex business needs into thoughtful ClickUp solutions using workflows, structure, automations, reporting, and process best practices.
- Recommend when to standardize, when to keep flexibility, and how to balance technical ambition with customer readiness.
- Identify practical automation and AI opportunities that improve customer outcomes instead of creating unnecessary complexity.
- Help customers operationalize new ways of working by pairing solution design with enablement, change management, and adoption support.
PARTNER ACROSS TEAMS TO SOLVE COMPLEX CUSTOMER PROBLEMS
- Act as a trusted advisor to customer admins, operators, and executive stakeholders.
- Coordinate effectively with Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support, and other internal partners to keep customer work moving.
- Escalate thoughtfully, communicate clearly, and maintain ownership even when multiple teams are involved.
- Bring customer feedback and recurring pain points back to internal teams to improve product usage, delivery patterns, and customer outcomes.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a customer-facing post-sale role such as Technical Account Management, Professional Services, Solutions Consulting, Implementation Consulting, or a closely related function.
- Proven success leading complex SaaS implementations, customer transformations, or strategic enablement programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong workflow and process design instincts, including the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into scalable solutions.
- Excellent customer communication skills, including confidence with both hands-on operators and executive stakeholders.
- Strong judgment in ambiguous environments, with the ability to prioritize, simplify complexity, and keep momentum through change.
- A clear ownership mindset and track record of driving outcomes rather than operating reactively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with work management, workflow automation, collaboration, CRM, ITSM, or adjacent SaaS platforms.
- Comfort recommending or deploying automation, reporting, and AI-enabled workflow improvements.
- Experience managing strategic or enterprise customer relationships where adoption, governance, and value realization mattered as much as configuration.
- Exposure to change management, customer enablement, or consulting-style discovery and solutioning.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
LOCATION
- This role is approved for hiring in Ireland.
- Please confirm any remote, hybrid, travel, or time-zone expectations during the hiring process.
WHY THIS ROLE IS COMPELLING
This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys combining customer strategy, technical solutioning, and execution. You’ll help strategic customers transform how they work, while shaping scalable delivery patterns inside a fast-moving environment where adoption, workflow design, automation, and AI all matter.

Build and lead a high-velocity production engine that transforms technical concepts into elite, field-ready service and training offerings across the Professional Services Portfolio. This role owns the full collateral and course-delivery lifecycle - from initial brief through go-to-market launch - and is accountable for the platforms, governance, and creative/technical talent that keep the portfolio's content current, on-brand, and field-ready.
The role carries a dual mandate: lead the production engine and serve as the primary link between Production and Sales Enablement/Go-to-Market (GTM), ensuring the portfolio is properly represented in the field. The ideal candidate has managed a diverse staff of technical and creative resources, can work with minimal supervision, and can implement the process changes required to continually mature the team's launch and collateral operations. Launch Management:
Plan, coordinate, and execute service and training offering launches, including go-to-market and marketing strategy.
Operational Excellence & Platform Governance
The Assembly Line:
Design and manage scalable, repeatable workflows that take content from initial brief to final delivery, replacing ad hoc production with a governed process.
Platform Management:
Own the LMS and training delivery platforms, the global PS collateral library, and access management for all portfolio assets.
Curriculum Development:
Create and maintain appropriate training curricula, collateral and video recordings.
Governance:
Implement rigorous quality and content review standards for all technical and marketing assets, balancing innovation with the ongoing maintenance of existing offerings.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
Partner with Services Architects, Portfolio Program Management, and Domain Specialists to design, develop, and maintain professional service and training collateral.
People Leadership & Performance
Global Team Management:
Build and lead a diverse, cross-timezone team of technical and creative professionals spanning multimedia design, technical writing, and video production.
Data-Driven Leadership:
Establish and track day-to-day production metrics - throughput, quality, and cycle time - to hold the team accountable to clear output standards.
Talent Development:
Foster a high-performance culture capable of adapting to rapid shifts in corporate direction, messaging, and strategy.
Quality & Stakeholder Management
Content Standards:
Perform content reviews to assure the technical accuracy, brand alignment, and quality of all portfolio collateral before release.
Stakeholder Interface:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (Sales, Product Marketing, Theatre leadership) regarding production requests and timelines.
Risk & Dependency Management:
Identify launch dependencies and production bottlenecks early, and escalate or resolve blockers before they affect GA dates.
What You'll Need:
8+ years of related experience managing people, projects, and cross-functional processes, ideally in a professional-services or training-content environment
3+ years of direct people-management experience leading creative and/or technical production staff
Experience with go-to-market, marketing, or sales-enablement processes for service or training offerings
Exposure to the full content/product delivery lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, production, review, and launch

Working knowledge of network security and vulnerability management; familiarity with Tenable.io, Tenable.sc, and Nessus strongly preferred
Experience administering an LMS and managing a content/collateral library at scale
Familiarity with data and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau) to track portfolio health and production metrics
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
Strong initiative and the ability to work remotely, both self-directed and as part of a geographically distributed team
Ability to manage multiple concurrent launches in an agile, frequently shifting environment
This role may require you to work in a hybrid/on-site capacity at our headquarters in Columbia MD or Boston MA. This position is US-based only
