The engineering team at Chainalysis is inspired by solving the hardest technical challenges and building products that establish trust in cryptocurrencies. We're a global organization that thrives on challenging work and doing it alongside exceptionally talented teammates. Our industry evolves rapidly, and our mission is to build a flexible, AI-driven platform that automates entity resolution, optimizes data labeling pipelines, and creates predictive models that identify illicit patterns before they escalate.
Our data and solutions have been used to solve some of the world's most high-profile criminal cases and grow consumer access to cryptocurrency safely. Now, by pairing the industry's most trusted blockchain data with agents that reason, investigate, and act, we help our customers scale their workflows as the cryptocurrency economy becomes increasingly mainstream.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in the Investigations group, you'll be a technical leader on the Government Systems team — the group responsible for the deployment platform and operational infrastructure that delivers Chainalysis Reactor to government and high-security customers.
The mission of the Government Systems team is to ensure that Chainalysis's most security-sensitive customers can run Reactor reliably in their own environments — including networks with strict access controls and limited connectivity. Government Systems sits at the intersection of infrastructure operations and product delivery. Product teams own their application code, but rely on Government Systems to provision environments, manage release pipelines, and operate the deployment platform. As a senior engineer you will be the connective tissue between these groups — setting technical direction, resolving cross-cutting issues, and ensuring the platform evolves to meet growing demands.
Note: This position requires eligibility to access U.S. Government information and systems. Due to applicable government security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Due to collaboration with Europe, we are highly prioritizing candidates based in EST timezone.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead the design and evolution of RKE2 Kubernetes clusters across development, acceptance, and production environments — driving upgrades, capacity planning, networking strategy, and operational resilience
- Architect and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform) to provision and manage AWS-based environments, establishing patterns and modules that the team can scale with confidence
- Own the CI/CD platform (GitHub Actions) end-to-end — designing pipeline architecture, improving build performance, and ensuring releases flow reliably through staged environments
- Drive GitOps-based delivery strategy using Flux CD, defining standards for Helm charts and Kustomize overlays and ensuring consistent reconciliation across clusters
- Define container image lifecycle policies — building, signing, storing, and distributing images across OCI registries for multiple deployment targets
- Identify and eliminate operational toil through automation, improving environment provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes at a systemic level
- Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices — owning dashboards, runbooks, and post-incident reviews that raise platform reliability over time
- Serve as a technical point of contact for product service teams integrating into the deployment pipeline — unblocking teams, troubleshooting complex environment issues, and advocating for infrastructure best practices
- Own the security posture of the deployment platform — managing secrets, certificates, RBAC policies, and security configurations to meet compliance and operational security requirements
- Mentor and grow other engineers on the team through code review, pairing, design discussions, and knowledge sharing
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Deep experience operating Kubernetes in production at scale — cluster lifecycle management, Helm, networking, persistent storage, performance tuning, and complex workload troubleshooting
- Expert-level proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure across multiple environments, including module design and state management strategies
- Strong Linux systems administration skills (RHEL or similar — networking, storage, systemd, performance analysis, shell scripting)
- Extensive experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar), with a focus on reliability, speed, and developer experience
- Deep familiarity with AWS services commonly used in infrastructure (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, EBS, Lambda, and related networking and security services)
- A strong operational mindset — you take ownership of reliability, think about failure modes proactively, and build automation to prevent recurring issues before they impact customers
Nice to have experience:
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Flux CD or ArgoCD in complex, multi-environment setups — including designing promotion strategies and managing drift
- Familiarity with container registry operations, image distribution, OCI artifact management, and image signing or verification workflows
- Experience managing databases in Kubernetes environments (e.g., PostgreSQL operators, stateful workloads, backup and recovery strategies)
- Familiarity with Kafka or other message brokers in a containerized environment, including operational management and scaling
- Experience with configuration management or automation tools (Ansible or similar) at fleet scale
- Advanced scripting proficiency in Python for infrastructure automation, tooling, and integration work
- Experience supporting environments with strict security or compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FIPS, IL environments, or similar)
- Exposure to or passion for the cryptocurrency technology ecosystem
Technologies we use:
- Kubernetes: RKE2, Helm, Kustomize, Flux CD
- Cloud provider: AWS (EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, Lambda)
- Infrastructure as code: Terraform
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, semantic-release
- Monitoring and alerting: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Humio
- Scripting and automation: Shell, Python
- Container registries: OCI/Docker
- Database management: PostgreSQL
- Event streaming: Kafka
- Operating systems: RHEL, Rocky Linux, Amazon Linux

ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
Ramp is building an AI-native platform that changes how Go-to-Market and Product Growth teams create, launch, and improve customer-facing experiences. We are looking for a product-minded backend engineer to help build the infrastructure and services that power modern growth and marketing at Ramp.
The next chapter for this team is to build marketing-led products: intelligent tools that turn strategy into execution, automate complex workflows, and help teams operate across channels with dramatically more leverage.
The team will build across creative production, lifecycle marketing, paid media, account-based marketing, experimentation, incentives, and cross-channel orchestration. Examples include AI-powered systems that produce on-brand campaign assets, automate complex marketing workflows, coordinate audiences and execution, and deliver personalized experiences across email, sales outreach, external channels, and Ramp’s product.
A core part of this mandate is Ramp’s incentives platform. We are building shared infrastructure to safely target, authorize, distribute, redeem, and measure incentives across channels and mediums—including in-app experiences tied to product adoption and growth goals. This requires combining marketer-friendly workflows with governed policies, budget controls, reliable financial operations, and closed-loop measurement.
You will work at the intersection of product engineering, AI, data, marketing, and financial infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a product-minded backend engineer who can translate ambiguous workflows into durable systems. You will build the data models, APIs, integrations, and orchestration capabilities that allow marketers, product teams, and AI agents to safely execute complex work end to end.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build the backend systems that power AI-native marketing and growth products across creative production, experimentation, incentives, and cross-channel orchestration.
- Build shared incentives infrastructure for eligibility, targeting, policies, budgets, authorization, issuance, redemption, and outcome tracking.
- Enable personalized content and offers across email, sales workflows, external channels, and in-product experiences using shared customer and campaign context.
- Design reliable orchestration for long-running work, approvals, scheduling, retries, human intervention, and safe AI or financial execution.
- Connect marketing actions and incentive spend to measurable activation, conversion, retention, and revenue outcomes.
- Partner across Marketing, Product Growth, Product, Data Science, Finance, and GTM Platform to own systems from early discovery through production adoption and iteration.
WHAT YOU NEED
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building production backend systems, with strong proficiency in Python or another modern server-side language.
- A track record of owning production services, APIs, data models, and distributed or event-driven workflows.
- Strong product judgment and system-design fundamentals, including data modeling, asynchronous processing, reliability, testing, and observability.
- Experience building governed systems involving permissions, policies, budgets, balances, entitlements, or financial actions.
- Experience applying AI to real product workflows—or strong interest in doing so—with an understanding of where deterministic controls and human approval are required.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and a bias toward rapidly shipping measurable user and business outcomes.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience building incentive, rewards, promotion, loyalty, payments, ledger, or financial-authorization systems.
- Experience building workflow engines, automation platforms, agent systems, or orchestration infrastructure.
- Experience with lifecycle marketing, product growth, paid media, experimentation, CRM, or other marketing technology.
- Experience designing human-in-the-loop AI systems, including approvals, evaluations, tool execution, and recovery.
- Experience with customer-data platforms, identity systems, behavioral event streams, or analytical data infrastructure.
- Experience building experimentation or attribution systems that connect interventions to customer and business outcomes.

- Centralized home-office equipment ordering
- Health and wellness stipend
- Budget for intra-office travel

Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US.
As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations.
Following our recent Series E funding round, where we raised $200 million, our valuation stands at $4 billion. Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow.
Deal Strategy & Structuring
- Structure complex multi-year, multi-product deals with confidence, modelling ARR, TCV and PPU trade-offs across seat tiers, platform fees and discount scenarios
- Approve discount and non-standard term exceptions within your delegated authority without Manager review, and document your reasoning, including for the ones you decline
- Spot structuring risks the AE/CSM did not flag, and map pricing decisions to ARR impact, retention risk and GTM incentive alignment
- Act as the go-to DealHub (CPQ) expert for the EMEA field, answering configuration and pricing questions directly instead of routing them upward
- Peer-review Specialist deal summaries and approval decisions before they reach the field
Order Management & Booking Integrity
- Own the review and booking of signed EMEA deals. Validate contract terms, dates, SKUs and pricing against the order form, and resolve non-standard order structures with judgement rather than escalation
- Approve non-standard booking structures and release blocked orders within your delegated authority
- Work upstream: tell Deal Strategy colleagues and AEs while a deal is still being negotiated if a structure will be unbookable or will create a revenue recognition problem
- Review Specialist bookings ahead of close and sign off their reconciliations
- Manage the month-end close reconciliation for EMEA rather than performing one step of it, and be accountable for Speed to Month Close
- Find the root cause of booking errors and remove the whole category. Build the control that prevents the error class, not just the fix for one instance
Governance & Analysis
- Be the named owner of at least one durable asset, for example a pricing model, the approval matrix, an exception log domain, the order validation rule set or the close reconciliation checklist
- Build and interpret your own analysis instead of requesting it: approval volumes, exception categories, rejection reasons, discount distribution, deal composition, and error categories by root cause
- Quantify recurring patterns (magnitude, source, period) and put policy or control updates in place within your authority, escalating only true architecture questions
- Own one improvement project per quarter with a named, measurable outcome, normally an OKR key result you already own
Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a commercial co-pilot to EMEA VPs and Directors, joining forecast calls and raising commercial risk before it reaches the inbox
- Explain the why behind approval decisions, and hold the line on a declined exception without damaging the relationship
- Build trust across Finance, Revenue Accounting, Billing, FP&A, Sales Comp and Legal. Be known as the person who unblocks orders, not the person who rejects them
- Run Deal Desk 101 for new AE/CSM joiners within their first 30 days, plus refreshers when deal hygiene slips or policy changes
How We Work: The Four Pillars
01 Know Your Business. Know the EMEA deals that need strategic structuring, and what is landing this quarter that will be messy. Know what a standard deal looks like compared with a real exception, in numbers rather than instinct. Build that picture yourself instead of inheriting it from Clari.
02 Proactive Engagement. Flag risky structures and problem orders days before quarter end, not during it. Bring quantified insights to Sales leaders, for example: "40% of blocked orders last quarter trace to one missing field. Let's make it required in CPQ."
03 Build Deep Relationships. Be the first call on a commercial question, not the last resort. Earn enough credibility that Finance takes your judgement on a grey-area booking without arguing it again.
04 Be a Force Multiplier. Build at least one reusable asset the team depends on. Document booking policy in language the field can follow. Make sure what you learn doesn't stay locked in a single deal.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Technical Skills
- 4+ years in Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, Order Management or commercial finance at a B2B SaaS company, including direct experience of both deal structuring and post-signature booking
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition and SOX control requirements. This is required, not a nice-to-have. You can tell when a structure will create a recognition issue before it is signed
- Advanced Salesforce skills: you build your own reports and dashboards and keep opportunity and approval data accurate
- Deep CPQ experience (DealHub, Salesforce CPQ or similar), including billing configuration and how deal setup flows downstream
- Strong modelling in Excel or Google Sheets: ARR/TCV splits, multi-year and ramp scenarios, discount waterfalls
- A track record of making documented exception decisions within delegated authority
What You'll Bring
- Sound commercial judgement in grey areas, with the confidence to approve, decline or reshape a deal and explain why
- Clear, credible communication with VPs, Finance and Legal alike, including the ability to say no and be thanked for it
- Systems thinking: you fix the process, not just the ticket
- Comfort with analysis: in your hands, an insight always comes with a source
- A habit of documenting, coaching and lifting the team around you
- Experience spanning UK, DACH, Nordics and wider European deal cycles
Nice to Have
- NetSuite experience for order management, billing or month-end close
- CLM platforms (Ironclad, LinkSquares, Luminance or similar)
- AWS Marketplace or other cloud marketplace deal and booking mechanics
- Experience leading a Deal Desk, CPQ or quote-to-cash tooling implementation
- Knowledge of EMEA specifics: GDPR data processing terms, EU procurement cycles, local PO and invoicing requirements
