Meet Arago and the Aragonians Arago is an AI and computer hardware company whose mission is to drive the course of history forward. We do so by accelerating breakthroughs at the intersection of AI and semiconductors. Founded in 2024 by AI researchers and physicists with deep expertise in photonics, electronics, software, mathematics, and machine learning, Arago brings together a lean team of engineers and scientists from the world’s top companies and research labs. Composed of nine nationalities and operating from hubs in France, North America, and Israel, we believe in great science and fast achievements. Our work is guided by these core principles: Do great things: we deliver work we’re proud to sign our name to. High velocity: speed matters. We move quickly, one step at a time. One unit: we’re all in this together, with relationships grounded in trust, respect, and camaraderie. Arago is backed by executives from Apple, Arm, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Hugging Face, as well as prominent US and European deeptech venture firms and exited founders.
What you’ll do
As a Senior AI/ML Scientist, you will work at the intersection of modern AI models, numerical precision, and novel computing architectures. Your mission will be to develop the methods that allow AI models to run accurately, efficiently, and reliably on Arago’s computing system. This position combines strong quantization and “digital twin” aspects: understanding how frontier models tolerate reduced precision, defining the right numerical formats and quantization strategies, and building software representations of the processor to model the physical effects that impact AI model accuracy. This role is both scientific and practical. You will help shape the bridge between AI models and Arago’s hardware.
Required Skills and Experience
Background in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related quantitative field. Strong interest and skills in applied mathematics and statistics. Strong experience with quantization of machine learning and AI models. Strong understanding of modern model architectures, including language models, diffusion models, video generation models, and/or world models. Experience studying the impact of numerical precision, noise, or approximation on model accuracy. Experience with inference performance optimization. Good knowledge of computer architecture, GPU architecture, or parallel computing. Ability to build rigorous experimentation pipelines and translate research insights into practical engineering decisions. GitHub profile with recent and relevant projects. Language: English at a proficient level. French is a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop Arago’s quantization strategy for modern AI models, including precision studies, numerical format exploration, and model-level techniques to preserve accuracy under constrained precision. Study the impact of analog noise on the performance and inference accuracy of machine learning models, including language models, diffusion, video generation, and world models. Develop simulation tools to model analog behavior with minimal computational overhead. Build and maintain Arago's internal experimentation pipelines for precision and performance studies on both physical and emulated prototypes. Act as a technical point of contact between clients and Arago: analyze, port, and optimize client models onto Arago hardware, balancing throughput and accuracy. Collaborate with the software and digital architecture teams to support architectural enhancements based on the operator content of frontier model architectures.
Pay and benefits
Competitive cash compensation, with final package based on location, experience, and the pay of team members in similar positions. Meaningful stock option plan offered at the earliest stage of the company (included in the majority of full time offers). Relocation bonus and coverage of moving expenses for relocation within 20 minutes of the company’s location. Healthcare coverage (including family-friendly options), pension contributions, professional development support, and 25 days of PTO, in addition to public holidays. Ownership of a key technical domain, with significant vertical and/or horizontal growth opportunities, based on performance and individual drive. ABOUT US
Constructor is the next-generation platform for search and discovery in ecommerce, built to explicitly optimize for metrics like revenue, conversion rate, and profit. Our search engine is entirely invented in-house utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, and we use its core and personalization capabilities to power everything from search itself to recommendations to shopping agents. Engineering is by far our largest department, and we've built our proprietary engine to be the best on the market, having never lost an A/B test to a competitive technology. We're passionate about maintaining this and work on the bleeding edge of AI to do so. Out of necessity, our engine is built for extreme scale and powers over 1 billion queries every day across 150 languages and roughly 100 countries. It is used by some of the biggest ecommerce companies in the world like Sephora, Under Armour, and Petco. We're a passionate team who love solving problems and want to make our customers' and coworkers' lives better. We value empathy, openness, curiosity, continuous improvement, and are excited by metrics that matter. We believe that empowering everyone in a company to do what they do best can lead to great things. Constructor is a U.S. based company that has been in the market since 2019. It was founded by Eli Finkelshteyn and Dan McCormick who still lead the company today.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Experiments team at Constructor builds an experimentation platform: traffic allocation, exposure logging, metric computation, statistical analysis, and a UI for launching experiments and interpreting results. It’s used both internally and by customers running experiments on production traffic.
We’re scaling customer experimentation usage and investing in making experiments faster, more reliable, and easier to interpret. Unlike boxed experimentation tools, our platform has to support a wide range of customer integrations, traffic patterns, and industry constraints — which makes the engineering problems unusually real-world and high-leverage.
Team: 3 Software Engineers, 1 Data Analyst, an Engineering Manager, and a Product Manager.
THE ROLE
This is primarily a backend role (Python services + data-heavy systems). You’ll occasionally work in the Dash UI and contribute to Spark jobs, but those are not the main focus. We care about correctness, observability, and product usability more than complex infrastructure.
Tech: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Plotly Dash, PySpark/Databricks, AWS, CloudWatch, Sentry
(Spark work is ~5–10% — we don’t expect you to be a data engineer or own the data platform.)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and maintain backend services for experiment assignment, logging, and report generation
- Improve scalability, performance, and reliability of experiment reporting pipelines
- Add product-facing features to the UI to help users launch experiments and interpret results
- Take technical ownership of projects: shape solutions, break down work, and drive execution with the team
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation (investigating occasional issues and answering internal questions)
You’ll collaborate closely with Search/Recommendations engineers, ML/DS partners, and customer-facing teams when needed. This role does not require frequent direct customer calls.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST-HAVE
- Strong experience building and owning production backend services in Python
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and debugging user-facing systems
- Strong SQL skills and confidence working with data-heavy systems (metrics, logging, analytics)
- Ability to ship maintainable software (tests, code review, incremental delivery)
MINDSET
- You take ownership: you can turn ambiguous problems into an executable technical plan
- You care about building systems people trust and rely on
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience with experimentation systems, metrics platforms, or A/B testing workflows
- Experience with PySpark and/or Databricks
- We don’t expect you to already be an expert in experimentation methodology — but we do expect strong backend fundamentals and the ability to ramp up effectively in a data-heavy domain
LOCATION / TIME ZONES
- We’re a distributed team. Preferred time zones are UTC+1 to UTC+7, but we’re flexible
BENEFITS
- 🏝️ Unlimited vacation time - we strongly encourage all employees to take at least 3 weeks per year
- 🌎 Fully remote team - choose where you live
- 🛋️ Work from home stipend - we want you to have the resources you need to set up your home office
- 💻 Apple laptops provided for new employees
- 🧑🎓 Training and development budget - refreshed each year for every employee
- 👪 Maternity & Paternity leave for qualified employees
- 🧠 Work with smart people who will help you grow and make a meaningful impact
- 💵 Base salary: $80k–$110k USD, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and interview results
- 📈 Stock options - offered in addition to the base salary
- 🎉 Regular team offsites to connect and collaborate

- Second Assessment: Candidates who achieve a passing score will be contacted by a member of our team to complete a more comprehensive assessment focused on their area of expertise.
- Video Screen: If selected to move forward, you’ll have a short video call with a member of our Operations Team.
- Final: Selected candidates will receive an Independent Contractor Agreement.
As an independent contractor, you maintain control over how you complete your work and may work with multiple clients simultaneously. We request that you declare any external work relationships with Cohere’s direct competitors and always maintain the IP confidentiality of the Cohere project. Independent contractors are not eligible for health benefits or other benefits provided to employees. Compensation for services is provided to contractors by self-invoicing for services provided pursuant to the terms of our agreement with the contractor.
It is important to understand that, as an independent contractor, continuous work is not guaranteed. The client-contractor relationship is fundamentally project-based, meaning engagements may be temporary, periodic, or intermittent based on our organizational needs and project availability. As an independent contractor, you should anticipate fluctuations in workflow and, therefore, compensation for services when Cohere does not require as many hours of services in a week.
Prospective candidates, please be advised: this role involves working with human-generated and model-generated tasks that may involve exposure to not safe for work (NSFW) text content as part of data annotation tasks, including explicit, offensive, or other inappropriate material.
If the above qualifications do not perfectly align with your experience, we still encourage you to apply!

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Imagine yourself in the 1970s or 80s thinking through how computing should look and feel for people who had never seen one before. That's what we're trying to do at Notion — make software that feels timeless, with the craftsmanship of German cameras, playfulness of Japanese toys, and mass appeal of Coca-Cola. We have no end of fascinating challenges that can only be solved by someone with innate product & UX sense, technical aptitude, great taste, and impeccable craft.
This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business potential.
- Craft every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixel-perfect execution.
- Run projects end to end with engineers to drive your vision to the ship line.
- Partner closely with our Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success teams to understand what each of our diverse user segments need, want, and love about Notion. Use this data and acquired intuition to prioritize, plan, and scope our product roadmap.
- Work with Marketing to devise new ways to tell great stories throughout the user lifecycle, and across our site, product, help guides and other channels.
- Create new patterns that are intuitive, practical, and convergent. Evolve our design system intentionally as we scale.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- You have well-rounded skills and experience to run projects independently end to end. 5+ years of working experience.
- You seek to understand the needs of customers then explore and advocate for the strongest user experiences to solve their problems
- You enjoy untangling vague conceptual problems and have a sharp intuition for the most accessible mental models and flows, so users can immediately start gaining value out of the product.
- You create clear, intuitive, and visually appealing human interfaces.
- You care about business needs, implications, and practicality of your designs. You don't get stuck on pretty UI or deep abstractions and can balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
- You have strong beliefs, loosely held. You're a good listener who collaborates well with different stakeholders. You observe and internalize all inputs and feedback to help you reach an optimal decision.
- You understand how to tell stories using both words and visuals, and strategize the best ways to drive alignment.
- You value working cross-functionally with project management, engineering, research and data — as well as design peers.
NICE TO HAVES:
- You've designed and built great tools with small teams in the past.
- You bring unique strengths and perspectives to the team. We're looking to build a diverse team where our skills and experience can complement each other.
- You've experienced the pain of fragmented tools and information silos created by them, and have a strong urge to fix it.
- You're familiar with the work of computing heroes like Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, Bret Victor, etc. — and understand why we're big fans.
- You are a designer who can code!

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
