How we’re using AI today
Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in a production SaaS environment.
- Strong experience building backend services in a modern language (e.g. Go, Node.js, Ruby, or Python)

- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical design discussions, and pairing.
- See your work directly influence measurable customer and business outcomes.
Bonus points for:
- Security experience with understanding of security-focused development practices, threat modeling, and building systems that handle sensitive data
- Experience working with containerized services and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience working with transactional email systems at scale, including ESPs and SMTP relays such as Amazon SES and SendGrid.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Our culture
At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.
You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone https://blog.1password.com/inside-the-culture-powering-1passwords-next-chapter/. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.
How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.
Our approach to remote work
We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of almost all roles, and we require our employees to be ready and willing to take part. Frequency will depend on role and responsibilities, and may include, but is not limited to: annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer/industry events.

- Drive initiatives that better support 1Password customers on your platform and mitigate issues developers face.

About You
We’re looking for a Web3 Fullstack Engineer to build the layer where web2 and web3 meet. Our mission is seamless web2 ↔ web3 integration — letting players and developers interact with digital items and move them through their full lifecycle (mint, own, trade, transfer, redeem, retire) without ever having to think about which side of the chain they’re on. You’ll work across the whole stack: wallet-connected frontends, high-throughput backend services, and the smart contract and indexing layers that make on-chain items feel as fast and familiar as anything in web2.
This is a hands-on engineering role with broad ownership. A player buying an item with a credit card, a game granting an in-game asset, and a marketplace settling a peer-to-peer trade should all resolve to the same coherent item model — regardless of whether the item lives in a database, a custodial wallet, or on-chain. Making that experience invisible to the end user, and reliable for the developer, is the core of the job.
You care about product quality and developer experience as much as protocol correctness. You’re comfortable owning a feature end to end, reasoning about trust and custody boundaries, and making pragmatic calls about what belongs on-chain versus off-chain.
About Us
Xsolla is a global commerce company with robust tools and services to help developers solve the inherent challenges of the video game industry. From indie to AAA, companies partner with Xsolla to help them fund, distribute, market, and monetize their games. Responsibilities
Build Seamless Web2 ↔ Web3 Integration
— Design and ship the flows that let users move between traditional accounts/payments and on-chain wallets without friction: custodial and non-custodial wallets, account abstraction, gasless transactions, and fiat on-ramps.
Own the Digital Item Lifecycle
— Build the systems behind item mint, ownership, transfer, trading, and redemption — keeping on-chain state and off-chain records consistent, auditable, and fast.
Develop Fullstack Features
— Deliver end to end across wallet-connected frontends, backend services, and the smart contract / indexing layer that powers item ownership and turnover.
Model Items & Ownership
— Design data models and APIs that represent items uniformly whether they live off-chain, in a custodial wallet, or on-chain, and keep them in sync.
Ensure Reliability of Value Flows
— Anything that moves items or money must be correct under failure: idempotency, reconciliation, replay safety, and clear recovery paths.
Integrate Blockchains & Marketplaces
— Interact with EVM chains, token standards, indexers, and marketplace/settlement flows; abstract their differences behind clean internal interfaces.
Collaborate Across Teams
— Work with product, security, payments, and game-facing teams to turn business needs into well-scoped technical plans, and document decisions so they stand on their own.
What You Bring
Web3 & Digital Assets
Web2 ↔ Web3 Integration
— Hands-on experience bridging traditional systems with on-chain ones: wallet onboarding, custodial vs. non-custodial trade-offs, account abstraction, gasless/relayed transactions.
EVM & Smart Contracts
— Working knowledge of EVM chains and Solidity, including reading, integrating with, and reasoning about the safety of contracts.
Token & Item Standards
— Practical understanding of ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155, and how they map to real game items, ownership, and transfers.
On-chain / Off-chain Sync
— Experience keeping blockchain state consistent with off-chain databases: indexing, event ingestion, reorg handling, and reconciliation.
Frontend Engineering
TypeScript & React
— Strong TypeScript and React skills for building responsive, production-grade interfaces.
Wallet Integration
— Experience with wallet connectivity and web3 client libraries (e.g. wagmi, viem, ethers.js, WalletConnect) and embedded/social login wallets.
Backend Engineering
Backend Services
— Solid backend skills in Node.js and Go: clean APIs, concurrency, and performance under load.
Distributed Systems
— Experience with distributed systems and their trade-offs (consistency, availability, failure modes), especially where correctness of value transfer matters.
Data & Infrastructure
PostgreSQL
— Schema design, query optimization, and migrations at scale.
Kubernetes
— Deploying, operating, and debugging services in a k8s environment.
Message Streaming
— Kafka or NATS — event-driven patterns, consumer groups, at-least-once delivery.
Git & CI/CD
— Git and modern CI/CD practices.
Domain Context
Gaming Industry Experience
— Experience building or operating platforms for game developers, publishers, or players — especially anything touching in-game items, economies, or ownership.
Nice to Have
Experience building NFT marketplaces, item trading, or secondary-market / settlement systems
Familiarity with blockchain indexing tooling (The Graph, custom indexers) and node/RPC infrastructure
Experience with account abstraction (ERC-4337), smart wallets, or paymaster/relayer setups
Background in payments or fiat on-ramp integration bridging traditional commerce and crypto
Experience with non-EVM ecosystems (Solana, etc.) or cross-chain / bridging patterns
Familiarity with security and compliance relevant to digital assets: custody, key management, audit logging, KYC/AML touchpoints
Contributions to open-source web3, wallet, or tooling projects
Hands-on, up-to-date experience with modern AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, Cursor) for code generation, review, and accelerating day-to-day engineering work
Benefits
We are passionate about fostering a supportive environment for our team, so we prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our employees through a comprehensive Benefits Program. This includes unlimited Flexible Time Off and a personalized career roadmap for each employee. By investing in professional development through training and educational opportunities, we ensure that our team thrives both personally and professionally. Together, we’re not just building a business; we’re cultivating a community that values creativity, collaboration, and the transformative power of play.
The duties and responsibilities of this position may evolve over time to support the organization’s goals and individual growth. This job description is intended to outline the general nature and level of work being performed and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required.
By submitting your application, you consent to Xsolla conducting background checks, where permitted by law, after the final interview stage. All checks will comply with local regulations, and your information will be handled confidentially.

About The Team
Own the account backbone of a CeFi platform trusted by
millions
— login, registration, account security, MFA, Passkey — where a single security regression is measured in real user funds. The more senior you are, the more you set the technical direction others build on.
What You'll Be Doing
Own account-system subsystems end-to-end
— authentication, MFA, Passkey/WebAuthn, session & device trust, account registration and recovery — including architecture, tradeoffs, and long-term evolution.
Design flows that are
secure and low-friction at millions-of-DAU scale
— the hardest tradeoff in this space.
Partner with risk & security teams to turn threat models into shipped mobile defenses.
Build our AI-native engineering practice

Raise the bar
through design and code review, and by making the engineers around you better.
At the Staff level: set technical direction beyond your own subsystem and drive cross-team, cross-timezone decisions that shape the account platform.
What We Look For In You
Deep, hands-on experience building
native iOS and/or Android
— you understand the platform, not just a framework on top of it.
Experience with a
cross-platform / shared business-logic layer
. We build ours in
Rust + UniFFI
; direct Rust-on-mobile experience is a strong plus, but experience with any shared-logic approach —
KMP, Flutter, or React Native
— transfers well and is valued.
Fluent in at least one of:
Swift / Kotlin / Rust / Objective-C / Java / JavaScript
, with strong CS fundamentals.
Architecture experience with large-scale mobile apps
— you've applied maintainable design patterns and own solutions from requirements through to production.
Hands-on with
mobile authentication & security
— OAuth/OIDC, MFA, secure storage (Keychain/Keystore), biometrics.
Direct experience with Passkey / WebAuthn / FIDO2 is a strong advantage
— it's live in our stack and central to what you'll work on.
Solid grasp of threat modeling and the mobile attack surface.
You apply AI deeply in your own engineering — not just code generation
. You've built, or are driven to build, automated development workflows and harnesses that make delivery
both faster and more reliable
. Solid grasp of LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent concepts, with hands-on experience taking an AI pipeline from scratch to shipped.
Comfortable with
ambiguity and high scale
— you've debugged problems that only appear under real production load.
Signals we value: you naturally
raise the standard of teams you join
, mentor without being asked, and can grow into a technical anchor for the group.
Nice-To-Haves
Fraud
/ risk, cryptography, or regulated-industry (fintech)
experience.

mini-program or dynamic/hot-update frameworks
.
Crypto trading / Web3 experience.

At this point, we will invite you to interview with our hiring manager and/or the interview team. About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
Developers are building faster than ever. Humans and agents are deploying more than 6 million times a day on Vercel, spinning up over 2 million Sandboxes and serving a trillion requests per month.
Every single one is powered by
our own compute infrastructure
.
The Persistence team sits within Vercel's Compute division. This team owns the deep infrastructure within Hive (our compute platform) focussing on storage and state for all our workloads (Builds, Sandboxes and Functions). This work is redefining compute with features like Fluid Compute, Persistent Sandboxes, and Custom Images.
As a Software Engineer on the Persistence team, you'll work on the infrastructure that runs 100s of instances across every region where our customers deploy code, rethinking low-level primitives and contributing to platform features that improve the experience for thousands of developers every day.
This role is based in
London, UK
. If you're within commuting distance of our London office, the role includes in-office anchor days. If you're located further afield within the UK, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.
What you'll do
Manage and improve our fleet of clusters, running 100s of instances deployed in every region where our customers deploy and run their code.
Write Golang on a daily basis and use Terraform to provision infrastructure; you'll get to know Nomad as our scheduler for managing workloads.
Rethink the primitives of our infrastructure — working with virtual filesystems, Linux primitives, and low-level virtualisation.
Own the reliability and performance of our compute platform, including on-call coverage for a team where every improvement has outsized impact at scale.
Collaborate across teams to drive the convergence of all compute at Vercel.
What you need
5+ years of software engineering experience, with Golang strongly preferred.
Deep experience with virtual machines, file systems and Linux — you like knowing how things work under the hood (tcpdump, strace, and iptables are familiar tools).
Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale; you design for performance and reliability.
Experience with schedulers and orchestrators for managing containers and non-containerised workloads (e.g. Nomad, Kubernetes).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for digging into problems that don't have obvious solutions.
Bonus if you
Have worked on low-level virtualisation or sandbox execution environments.
Have product engineering experience and care about the developer-facing impact of infrastructure decisions.
Have experience with on-call operations for large-scale distributed systems.
Benefits:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
